Time was passing in a blur, and with each passing hour, Ixyguin was finding herself with more questions than answers. The biggest mysteries of all were still obviously the ones that concerned her identity and this place. She couldn't remember anything from before the time she woke up and found herself in the Ruins. Where had she been before that point? Had she even existed, or...?
Existential crisis aside, the girl had been spending most of her time here battling. There was no shortage to the unusual, wispy creatures that lurked throughout the zone, and she had met a number of people while trying to beat them down. It had been a good way to pass time, and with each battle she felt herself become a little more skilled, a little more confident. It was also kind of mindless, an easy way to distract herself from the bigger issues at hand.
Not to say that she wanted to ignore said issues completely, but there wasn't much she could do right now. She felt as if the only ones who could give her the answers she was seeking were the goddesses, but it wasn't as if she had a chance to speak to them very often. On the contrary, she only ever found herself in their presence when she was requested to do something for them. The first task had been easy: collect the glowing, floating objects that were rampant in the Ruins, and then hand them over.
What had been strange was that, with each one that she caught, she had heard a scrap of conversation, a whisper, a name brush against her ear. They had made her uneasy for some unknown reason, but none of them had ever sounded familiar. Aniki, jiejie, Hayate--who, or what, did all of these things mean?
Because of the strange, lingering feeling, it had been a little hard for her to part with the fragments, but she ended up giving them up to the goddess anyways. The thing was, she could remember this task quite clearly...but the next day's task--today's--was different. She could vaguely recall the goddess' request, the heart, the scissors...
...But something was missing. She wasn't sure what it was exactly, but it felt as if there was a little hole in her mind where there hadn't been one before. Was she just imagining it? Considering how disoriented this whole situation made her, she wouldn't doubt it.
Whatever the case, there was nothing that she could do now but wait. They were presently living by the goddesses' whims, and until they were given another task to carry out, there was little to do but to pass the time through battling, socializing, or simply waiting for what came next.
