His fingers closed. He knew, instinctively, that this was music. Someone singing. He knew, instinctively, that it was a little off-key. Something about incense and patchouli, words he didn't know or understand.
Before he could process it, another glimmer beckoned. He steeled himself for the onslaught of the rain before he darted out after it.

Ryjer stepped out into the subway warily, glancing around the ruins with growing anxiety. Clearly this was once a great city- all the signs of that sort of thing were there. What had happened to make it so... falling apart? His stomach- he wasn't sure if he had a stomach or not- twisted.
"H-hello?" He ventured, relieved to find he did in fact have a voice.

She made her way back down to flat ground after inspecting the area of more pieces of light. She looked back after reaching ground to see a glimmer, a small one, but one nonetheless. She refused to head back up for it was higher than the last. She continued on her way.

Rochiej puttered around some more until he spotted another fragment. He snatched it up quickly, just as eager as before. When he did, he heard something else.
"Getting knocked out too much can't be healthy..."
This one made a little more sense, and quite frankly, he had to agree. He still didn't know what the hell it was, though. And such, he eyed the fragments a little warily. Clues of the past? Or just random nonsense?

The streets were not abandoned, though they looked dead. Methods of locomotion lay lifeless but one showed a bit of light, wedged in between the spokes of an old bicycle wheel. Zauus bent down and wrapped her fingers around the light, warmth and a voice surrounded her. It squeaked as she pryed it out. The warmth lingered for a little bit as she held it together with her other two pieces.

He was curious. That much could be said to be true. Too bad curiosity didn't get you what you wanted. His eyes narrowed a bit as he moved to dart after the fragment that had run from him, reaching for it once more only as it yet again danced away from his fingertips.
Tricky little thing that it was, it apparently didn't desire to grace anyone with it's knowledge.

She wasn't trying to clap her hands, but rather grab the crystals with both hands. She found herself pouting a little bit as she struggled to try and catch it. Clearly she needed to go somewhere else and find some more of these things. Hmmm...
Did they have a consciousness? Were they purposely avoiding her or was she just really bad at grabbing stable objects?

He was aware of others, more grey shapes with the same golden-curious heart, but he slipped between them like they were no more significant than the rain, and perhaps not even that.
He was become more self-assured in his hunting, and it was with a strange mixture of satisfaction and disappointment that he seized the final fragment, and turned towards the shrine before the sound had even died in his ears.

Something caught Cyan's attention and he reached toward it before being distracted by something near him.

Apparently, being persistent did get you somewhere in this world though. As he continued to trail after the thing he finally managed to catch it in his hand. Perhaps for better or worse. He couldn't only wonder as the voice echoed in his mind leaving more questions than it bothered to answer. "This is your brother." What brother?
Who's? His? He had no one else, so... why did it matter? He could only look at the thing curiously, then about to those around him. Did they hear the same words? Or perhaps... well. He'd have to catch more to know.

She perked up when he pat her shoulder and Hekhis patted his back, standing up just a little straighter. A perking up gesture without much to show for it. Following his own motions, Hekhis reached out to grab one as well, cupping it in both of her hands and looking at it curiously.
Pineapples and fog... It was a really bizarre image in her mind. She wasn't sure what a pineapple was. It looked like a strange prickly weird thing. Did you eat it? It didn't feel appetizing to her....

After a brief break, Remye tried again to get her fragments. No such luck, though. Grumbling, she huffed off in the rain, looking around miserably. =.= Maybe they weren't worth it. But no, she knew better than that... She sighed, looking around for more of the little things.

Rain proved to be dangerous as it burned slightly when she had searched for the other fragments. It'd be best to stay here where it was dry and safe. She continued on her path. There was a fragment stuck to the ceiling a few feet above her head. Climbing up the wall proved fruitless. Jumping gave the same results. She continued on her way instead of wasting any more time and energy.

Well, curiosity never went away unless one dealt with it. Either by giving it what it desired, answers, or finding a proper distraction. With the world as it was, he found little to distract him. So onward to further fragments seemed the proper course.
Thankfully, there were many to be had.
He quickly moved toward another, snatching it from it's place in the air even before it had much of a chance to vanish once more. This time though, new words greeted him. Proving but one thing, each was perhaps... unique. Or at least somewhat varied.
'Be careful not to bring shame on the family.'
Shame? Family? Why did so much have to do with something he didn't have. At least he didn't recall having. Was a family so important? He saw little reason for it. A light huff escaped him as he tucked the fragment away. Perhaps he was getting all of the useless ones about such things. Everyone here was alone, weren't they?
