It didn't even occur to Ronan that he should introduce his companions, truth be told, it had been a long time since he'd had companions TO introduce.
He nodded at Dori's reply. "What happened? To the school I mean." Seemed like a lot of monster schools in this region were closing down, he vaguely recalled something about Belfry Prep when he was reading up on Monster High. "And what do your parents think about the whole.. school for all kinds of monster?" His grandmother had protested more than his parents at that particular detail, old prejudices died hard apparently.

Meme shivered with excitement and nerves. She nodded and smiled to the robot ghoul, "Nice to meetchya! I'm Meme!". She didn't really know what Marcy meant by 'not literally' blowing monster off the track, but the potential deadliness of her temporary team-mate boosted her confidence. Her eye's scanned the crowd; their collective movement and noise reminded her of the stands back home and she felt comforted.
Taking slow, deep breaths she began her pre-show warm up of stretches and jogging on the spot. Working the family circus business had trained her to face dangerous tricks, to be steady on her feet and have a certain ruthlessness in the ring. It was a routine to push your colleagues into tiny buckets and throw bombs disguised as pies to get roars of laughter from the crowd but, unlike the big-top, SKRM didn't have cushy safety nets and foam blocks and her opponents would be just as brutal as the obstacles that lay ahead.
"Or I'm totally over analysing and being dramatic.." She reflected.

"Oooo!" Lin twiddles his fingers and reaches into the bag for a clawful of one of Gryff's favorite snacks. "Thanks Gryff! These look great!" "Oooo!" Again as Lin accepted the hexpresso from Falconnie. "Much obliged! I..." Before Lin could continue he spotted Robecca Steam make her way out onto the track and Lin immediately popped up onto the seat with him megaphone. "HEY CLAWD! YOU'RE NOT LETTING HER USE THOSE ROCKETS IN HER BOOTS ARE YOU!? THAT'S CHEATING!"Again with the ear splitting feedback and Lin vibrates accordingly -- again.

At the announcement by Coach Clawd of the tryout teams, Glen immediately perked up and zipped over to where Anne stood and where the wheelchair bound daredevil merboy Ryder was waiting. "Yes!" Glen pumped his fist. "The most hextreme SKRM team, right here!" Glen fist bumped Ryder and held up his fist to do the same with Anne and raised a brow. "You are hextreme, amIright?" Atomica Servo "I must announce to the student bodies," Cleo informed everyone, standing up on her litter. "That the Fear Squad will be having tryouts at the end of the week for the "B" team. I do hope to see the most graceful, athletic and hard-working ghouls try out, so that we do not have to rely on 'stand-ins' again when practicing the fear-a-mid." She gave Glen da West a regal glare. Glen paused and looked over toward Cleo and pointed a finger. "Hey I thought I looked pretty good up at the top of that fearamid! It weren't my fault that plant ghoul had wobbly stems and we all fell! And would it UNKILL you to get a boo's fearleading uniform in stock for just such emergencies!?" "Very well." Cleo nodded as she had a seat again, this time closer to where the fearleading team were seated in the stands. "You can try out for the B team as well.""Darn right!" Glen nodded then turned back to Anne. he then blinked and looked back. "Huh!?"

Rory watched as Team Abbey and Team Operetta took off down the chutes onto the SKRM field. The teams each skated past rows of old tires set up to mark off the field, and soon disappeared into the gaping maw of the cave section of the track. The dozens of spectator monsters all craned their necks upward to watch the giant screens showing them what happened next.
"Oh no!" Rory cried, despite the fact that the athletes couldn't hear him. "Look out for those stone boulders!"
Giant stone boulders were just the start of the course, though, no big deal. Abbey Bominable held out a hand and created a giant ice ramp that slid her team right over the rocks. Operetta's team opted for the more direct approach, with Operetta using an ear-splitting sung note to carve a hole right through the boulder for her team to skate through!

"Of course I am, why wouldn't I be?" Anne's stretching now. She pops her knuckles, makes sure her helmet and pads are tight, and waits. Anne's shivering with excitement to get out on the field, and show everyone what she's made of.

"Oh I'm so totes going to make the Fearleading team!" Vanishha waves to Cleo who gives a slight nod back. Thankfully Vanissha had stopped by her room to power her face again, so she could be seen. Although in his light it was hard to see anyone let alone an invisible ghoul...
She noticed Ronan and Dori, while not really paying attention to the SKRM event. She was far more interested in social events rather then sports. It's why she wanted to be a fearleader.
"Hey... What's Dorianna and Ronan sitting together ?" she asked Ascreama. "You need to get down there and sit next to Ronan."
Ascreama really needed to get out more. Those two totes liked each other but couldn't say it. So Vanissha would make it her mission to help them!
"Don't be shy Ascreama. Your date was cut shorter then an imp and you should go talk with him. Just try not to eat anything... C'mon I'll go with you."

On the SKRM track, Team Abbey had run into a problem. Heath Burns was in the lead, but Hoodude Voodoo, the last kid on the track for team Operetta, kept running into the giant columns that were shooting darts at the kids. Every column he hit seemed to reverberate with Heath, who was moaning and shouting like he was being pummled with baseskull bats.
Operetta took advantage of the distraction and shot out into the lead just as they hit the path over the giant swirling whirlpool, enormous tentacles jutting out and looking to drag any overzealous student into the watery depths.
"Look out!" Rory cried as Operetta jumped over one particularly excited tentacle. "You know what tentacles li-"
Rory was cut off by the roar of the crowd cheering as Abbey Bominable came up from behind! She waved a hand and froze the tentacle going for her and retook the lead!

Gryff sniffed derisively at the cup but nodded his "thanks." Another Coffin Bean drink. Well it wasn't nearly of the quality he'd accustomed himself to at the Java Crypt but at least it wasn't undrinkable swill like Scarbuck's. Gryff almost pitied the pigeon, who couldn't quite wrap her feathered brain around how many seconds one had to pulse the beans before they achieved a fine granulated status that would brew into the perfect cup, or even what spices to give it an extra punch of flavor. A blacker-than-the-pits cup with a hint of chico-eek and grimger would hit the spot, but that was beyond the pigeon's limited comprehension.
It was probably genetic, that's what happened when you had chicken in the gene-coop.

"Am I getting to predictable?" Ascreama asked with a laugh. She smiled sweetly and accepted the muffins "Thank you.. I appreciate the apology, but hope Meme didn't, like.. force you into it."
Ascreama turned to Vani and blinked in shock,"What? Date?! When was there a da-" She hissed but was cut off monster howling into a megaphone. She shook her head vigorously and brought her attention back to try-outs; she'd already missed out on some action! A deep blush turned her cheeks red but she didn't say anything else. Ronan was nice and friendly, but she didn't like like him that way.
