So, I've been dead forever, not just on this guild, but on Gaia in general. I had kinda moved on (mostly working on D&D stuff stare ). But I think this guild is amazing, not just because of the friendly atmosphere, but because of what it aspires to do: help others. Therefore, I will put my utmost effort (or at least, all the effort I can spare) into helping out.
My opinion is that what we need most is momentum. If we get people posting, most of our other objectives will follow. I have dealt with other withering groups before, is boy scouts and such, and there, momentum was key. So maybe we could get some contests or events going, just simple things like "make the most popular character" or something, just to get the ball rolling. If you want ideas, I have a few, but pm me cuz this message is already too long xp .
On the note of posting, if the sub-threads are down, does that mean I should post character and world review requests on the main forum?
Best of luck, Ryuholy749

Best of luck, Ryuholy749 Jikial You are free to make any roleplays you want in the main forum of the guild, you can disregard the "how to make a roleplay" rules for now as they are under review. Simply strike one up and get your friends to join. You can also store your characters in the Character Profiles and Development using any format you like. And RP ideas in the Setting and Story Development subforum. I think you might find this useful. emotion_yatta
I agree that getting momentum going would be good and I'm working on a starting a tutorship/mentorship program kicked off at the moment.

I see you've started a roleplay. Great! Make sure to recruit away, you can even use this thread to do it, or make your own OOC. Just don't give up! There's more stuff coming up this week, I promise! Right now you're quite literally our most active GM in the guild, this is good. Your roleplays will definitely be advertised. starwarsbaby My only suggestion is that we should do more things like the SDRP summer games. That is a hell I would very much like to never revisit. But you are right, events would be a good for the guild, so there will be brainstorming on what to do and how to carry it out. This early the events will be simple, but they may reach Summer Game potential eventually. Make a roleplay and recruit it up. Bring in outsiders to the guild if you want to so they can join you out. The more the merrier! I'd like to see what the roleplays of someone who gets artblocked looks like, so when you get around/breakthrough it, bring it on. For the rest of you expressing apologies and wishings to help the guild, start roleplaying. START.

Best of luck, Ryuholy749 They aren't down, but you can post them here to get attention for them and then I'll move them to the subforums when they've gotten responses. Also, this is exactly the place to post your suggestions for momentum. We can make it into a vote thing. If there's one philosophy about leadership I've decided is pretty good, it is that to lead the people, the people must be involved with the leader. This is why I made this thread, wrote the open letter, and will continue to let you guys in on what's generally going on in the upper ranks. I want your commentaries and feedbacks and suggestions. I want the multiple perspectives and grand discussions. In short, I never want the community to feel as though it's disconnected and strung along.

Currently me and another guildie, whom I'm really good friends with, are brainstorming ideas for a new roleplay to start or resurrect one of mine and his old ones that never quite got off the ground.

YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE
Hi everyone, I've recently been made a vice captain of this guild (again).
To anyone who can spare a moment to answer a few questions of mine, I'm looking for opinions on the following (please keep answers concise!): 1. An updated list of all active RPs in this guild, yes/no? 2. An active search directory, yes/no? I have one running currently; it's not up to date but I can make it up to date (it would turn out empty though because none of the search threads have been posted for in a while). 3. In relation to question 2, do you think that a directory of active users be helpful? 4. I was also thinking of creating a new 'quote summons' thread, where you can sign up to get a quote notification every week or so reminding you that this guild exists. The idea of this will be to serve like (a very washed down version of) the thread subscriptions page on Gaia. Thoughts? 5. SDRP's one-on-one Mentorship Program is now live! 6. A walk-in RP is in the works. Apart from the last two points, these are all projects that I'd be willing to run/maintain, but my time is limited so I want some opinions to help set my priorities. By the way, if you have any more ideas on what projects we can pursue, please continue to let us know!

She is crew and vice captain again, yay!
She left because we were all terrible, and she's back because we're less so, by volume, because now it's just me.
I have no real idea of her motivations actually.
But it's fun to think about.
You people need to keep coming.

Cool.
I'll keep trying to juggle my three threads and hopefully I don't get overloaded burning_eyes
Should be fine though as long as people find the balance between posting every hour and never posting.

That is always a fine line. I am on everyday, but i have to wait long stretches before people can respond in some of my other rps. 1. Sounds good, but usually I (and by assumption other people) find active rps by checking when the last time they were posted in. Will this list be a sticky and find active roleplays in the same way? 2.Is this directory a way for people searching for rpers to connect with them. If so, yes. 3. Extremely. 4. No problems there. 5. Yay 6. Meh.

"Meh" my idea. Why I oughtta make it a damn good walk-in RP if you're just gonna "Meh" it. Gotta find some way to keep you guys here...otherwise this whole thing was just a palpitation during resuscitation with the defibrillators of GGAs.

Personally, walk-in rps are great for people who enjoy them, and really everyone has their opinion and I respect everyone's opinion, without expecting them to respect mine. To be honest I hate walk-in rps with a passion. I invest too much into what I write to write that way. Please, don't make me start a rant about them. I don't think ill of anyone who does enjoy them, but they are just not for me. That's all. As far as improving the guild, the traffic they generate would be great and much needed. Excess traffic means excess exposure means more interest means more rpers means more long term rpers. Plain, simple and to the point. Like an epinephrine shot to open closed airways during anaphylaxis. (The x-games beside a small hospital to lay readers.) I approve of the idea. I am just not crazy about walk-ins. When all the powers combine, "Meh". Which in itself isn't supposed to offend anyone.

I'm eccentric, I go about things in ways that people expect but with entirely different motivations and methods. You were supposed to read that last post humourously. In my opinion, any time the phrase, "why I oughtta" is used, it should always be comedy, cause it sounds like comedy. It's...tough to get used to and easy enough to see when you know that I'm pretty much Shakespeare's Jester (alternatively, a non-assaulting Comedian from Watchmen). There's a lot of humour in what I do. I'm taking the time to explain this to everyone, though I'm sure people will think this is specifically for you. It's not. As a dude in charge you should all know that my personality is a bit tweaked, so much so that Watervoir can't even tell what I'm doing/saying half the time. But she's come this far.

I figured but I didn't want to assume. I can usually pick it up, but it is harder with people who are usually serious. And I am reading plain text. Also, I see you missed the "Captain Planet" reference. For shame, such an entertaining slice of 90's era cartoons. And if your co-captain can pick-up off the fly, then she's a much better humorist than me (;

It will probably be one month or so.
2. Yes, that's the idea! It will hopefully make it easier to find out who is searching for RPers (although of course the alternative is to let everyone look at recent post dates themselves. o uo).
3-6. Duly noted. 3nodding
