Heidi turned back to Stormy with a grin when the brunette mentioned hanging out. "Oh yeah! Definitely! You've been looking for movies, right? I'd love to come over and watch some with you. It feels like it's been forever." She may have been going through a bit of movie watching withdrawal. Seeing Stormy asking about Disney movies and just movies in general made her really want to go see one. At this point almost any movie would satisfy her. Heidi blushed at the dating her brother part, smiling brightly just at the reminder she was dating Tuck. "Of course." But then that also meant she needed to hang out with Gnat more.
Well, she did want to anyway.
Heidi balanced her plate with one hand and checked the time on her phone with the other. It had been enough time. "I should go check on Tuck, I'll see you later, 'kay? Just send me a text whenever you wanna hang out!" Grinning, Heidi pocketed her phone and waved to Stormy as she hurried out to find Tuck.

Well that was comforting. Not. Admittedly it wasn't entirely unexpected. As they progressed through the ranks, surely the missions would be getting harder. It made sense. Didn't mean Peyton much liked having the evidence of it confirmed for her.. She blinked at Ro when he explained what was going on with his weapon, and her lips twisted dubiously to one side as pale brows pinched inward. "One big unrestrained release of fear? Sounds really familiar." Warrick gave a soft snicker at the back of her mind. Another girl inserted herself into the conversation at this point, and Pey gave her an odd look before simply shaking her head. Personal failings left her completely ill equipped for pointing out any social fuax pas. Glass houses and throwing stones and all that. She did frown though when she was included in the assumption about having issues with handling fear charges. "Naw, I'm good." She tried not to sound quite as put off as she felt. Might have even succeeded, too. "Ro just got a promotion though, so he's working with a power boost." She turned back to the hunter in question. "Sounds to me like you need to do a little work with finding the range of damage Sylvia can throw out. Should test it on someone with a full shield." Was she volunteering? Maybe.

Roland was just nothing but a bad news bear lately. Every thing he seemed to do or say made someone feel just a bit more down. In this case it was reminding Peyton how terribly un-fun their job actually was and how deadly it could be.
"I know you have a charge like that, Tracey and Rep, and I guess myself now. Cept mine isn't like... physical, like it doesn't strain my body, it's just the blow is so... undirected? That it cuts everything around me including myself." He still remembered his fear shield being taken down for the attack, just enough that his face actually split with small cuts as Sylvia stitched them up while the charge continued to howl around him.
Turning to Stormy he offered a hand, "I don't think we've met, but you're a mist too right? Roland Taft." He gestured to Peyton, "That is Peyton, as for fear attacks. Well, Sylvia seemed to change mid fight, she got the upgrade most other hunters told me about. Problem was she also had a full charge and instead of keeping it till needed it just burst out."
He looked back at Peyton shrugging. "You volunteering?"

The expression on Mimsy's face went from confusion to horror to mild disgust ( mainly because 'destined lover' was not in a four-item list a few posts back) and a strangled uhhh escaped her. She forced herself to move, but managed only to shift about half an inch. Well, that was all she had. " Okay." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Someone has already cut the cake. Naturally, I instructed them to wait for you, but they did it anyway. There might still be some left if you...." Another deep breath, sucked in between clenched teeth. "Stop that." She stared hopefully at him as best as she could out of the corner of her eye. Maybe he'd take the bait and they could speak from a more respectable difference. Or not at all. Not at all was also okay.

Robert parsed that last sentence together, as warning that he was allowed to have cake only if he stopped nuzzling her. So he was off of her like a rocket, and bending forward to get a too-close look at the cake. His eyes went squinty, and he took in a deep breath.. Deep enough to get frosting right up his nose, down his throat, and into his lungs. Did coughing on a cake still count as touching it? What about coughing so hard the recoil slams your face into the cake itself? That definitely counted, right? Robert pulled away, covered in cake face, and gave Mimsy the saddest, most mournful, guilty look. "I'm sorry I ruined your cake, Mimsy.." He whined, licking his lips. Hey, it was still cake.

Relief flooded in as Robert separated himself from Mimsy's face, and was almost euphoric enough to cause her to miss what was, apparently, how Robert determined how delicious a cake would be. She might have been somewhat perturbed that he didn't just assume that she'd make something good, considering the way she'd approached baking as a science, but it was impossible the be anything but amazed witch such a sight before her. She snorted and covered her face, successfully suppressing a laugh. In case she'd doubted for even one moment that she was working in a daycare, this was fine evidence to support that claim. "It is not my..." She sighed, taking the Path of Least Explanation. " Your cake. That is your cake." Or now it was, at least.
