"Terrible," Rin winked at Melvin as she polished off the pastry to blame. She finally looked to her cappuccino - foam heart still on display. It was perfect. She distractedly took a sip to wash down the confections.

While Rin was distracted with her cappuccino, he reached over to wipe his face quickly as he could but without being so quick as to cause her to suddenly look over. Setting the napkin down, he sipped his own coffee. "It would be nice if we could get a espresso machine somewhere. Having that hidden away and runiced would no doubt get you to make a fortune at Deus. Hot ground coffee at any time you want. Even a coffee machine to myself would be nice. I'd steal the ones in the labs if they didn't chain those things down to the counter." He took another sip of his coffee, and finished it, waited for when he could ask for a refill. He'd probably be a bit jittery with as many cups as he wanted to drink, but hell if he cared.
Turning, he reached into his backpack and pulled out the tourist book he managed to borrow from one of the techs, and opened the worn paperback. "I borrowed this book. It shows a lot of attractions here in the city we can look at. "
He turned the page and pointed to a picture of a full road full of flowers. "There is a Columbia Road Flower Market here. It also has shops along the sides. Want to check that out?"

Rin was surprised at the extra perk that the cappuccino gave. That wasn't quite like ordinary coffee. She polished off the rest of her meal before draining the drink dry. She carefully placed the mug back with a soft clack.
"I'd like to have some of this all the time if I could." She leaned in to see the book, "Oooh~ Yes! That sounds fun."

He smiled, glad he had something planned that she liked. "If that doesn't take too long and we still have time to kill, we can grab some lunch and go over to the zoo. It would be nice to see some animals that look normal." Who he grew up seeing and not being afraid of (unless it was with many other people who were also afraid of them - like bears).
He closed the book, working on his eggs and toast, happy for the spilling yolks to his sunny side up eggs.

"Ooooh, I always wanted to go to a zoo!" Rin squealed giddily before sharply clearing her throat and then pretending that didn't just happen. "That sounds lovely."

"Alright. Let me have one more cup of coffee and we can go. I ...think I know how to find where this street is." He said, turning over to a map and trying to figure out where they were. "I'm sure it's somewhere. If anything, we can call a cab." He didn't want to spend most of their day walking lost.
He signaled for another cup, had it refilled, and started to finish the last bits of his breakfast.

Rin contentedly watched him finish off his meal, "Works for me." She was hoping there were peacocks.

Drinking his coffee as quickly as his mouth would tolerate, he rose up and paid the check. Returning, he lead them out of the cafe and down the walkway, holding the map in one hand and looking around at street signs with the next. When he finally noticed they were a ways away from Columbia street, he rose his hand and waited for a taxi. "I'm not walking all day just to get to a place." He told her. They would be doing enough walking at the flower market and the zoo that he actually wanted them to have some energy when they got to the hotel.
A taxi soon picked them up and moments later, dropped them at the end of a packed road that vehicles wouldn't go. Paying the driver, he exited the cab and looked around. The place was full of stalls lined with flowers and herbs and every sort of plant life around. He looked over to Rin. "Well expert, lead the way."

Rin followed Melvin in and out of the taxicab; he frankly did not need to explain. She knew, understood, and agreed. Like hell was she walking more than necessary on a vacation.
It didn't take long before something caught her eye and she was half dragging him over to a stall absolutely covered in potted plants. She eyeballed a small tray of potted lavender while squeezing Melvin's hand excitedly.

"We can take whatever you want to the hotel. Actually, how about we check in to one after this, drop our stuff off, and head back out. That way we're not carrying stuff and your plants won't wilt." He was all for her getting more for her greenhouse. It was still pretty empty despite what hard work Rin put into it.
He looked down at the plants, reading the labels and taking it all at face value. Pretty flower here. Pretty flower here. Green twig thing there. He looked out down the entire street. "You have plenty of booths to go." He told her, looking back at some weird red green plant that had no flowers and looked more like a small bush.

"That sounds like a great idea!" Rin said excitedly before finally releasing his hand to grab several potted plants, bulbs, and seeds and paid her way. She nuuudged the bags in Melvin's direction hopefully.

Not at all bothered, aside from hoping that Rin took into account that Melvin did have a weight capacity at some point (even with Hunter abilities regarding strength), he followed her along, juggling bags from one hand to the other and taking deep breathes. At least here, he could be sure no flowers were going to kill him.
There were a few bugs about, and he occasionally would move closer to Rin whenever one buzzed by.

Rin gladly protected the big strong warrior from the occasional passing fly, butterfly, or bee. Shooing what she could and ruthlessly murdering anything that refused to stay the requested 20 yards or more from Melvin. When she was satisfied by her haul, she went to flag down another taxi for the both of them, "You want something simple or fancy?"

He was glad that Rin had decided to stop as he was loosing space between his fingers to hold all the bags, and had started playing bag Tetris with a few near empty bags to put other bags next to each other in such a way that it wouldn't hurt or damage the other plants inside.
When he entered the taxi, he breathed out after loading the trunk. "Fancy. If we're going to be heading back to a nice bed, I want it to be a nice, big, clean one that had a fridge of booze for us to abuse. Nothing crazy though. I don't think we could get a high roller suite between the pair of us." Still, a nice place to sleep in with Rin would be a sweet note to a otherwise busy day. He also knew that if they were going to have fun, he didn't want to be distracted with thinking the bed was already soiled.

Rin smirked at her poor little pack mule after he finally cast off his load. In the taxi, she could only nod in agreement at his suggestions towards the proper hotel for them. She glanced at the driver expectantly while curling a corner of her lips. "What he said, please."
And suddenly the taxi was moving, skillfully directed through busy traffic and strange signs that Rin could only hope to comprehend the meaning of. It still took time and she chose to keep that time silent as she looked out the window and crossed and uncrossed her legs. The brakes squealed to a stop. Just outside the taxi stood a surprisingly beautiful brick and mortar building. It looked ancient, but at the same time well-maintained to keep it modern and clean. Rin pulled from the window to finally offer Melvin a searching look, "Well?"
