Apparently, our school did do it, from 8-2, but I did it from 720 to 130 because I needed extreme help on my geometry test. I also found out that we have a GSA, and I'm totally joining next year.

We had over 500 people participate yay! After school we had this little sketch comedy for being quiet all day. It was preformed by a group called The Gay Mafia. It was soo cool. I now have to visit west Hollywood to see them again. I didn't sayanything all day first word was. Hey haha.

um...we had like 30 participate in this at my school. My school is homophobic. >.> this was my first year too! i didnt talked. but homophobes made me pissed. stressed scream of course now no one knows im bi. Oh yeah! i forgot, this hardcore christrian teacher came out and "preach" to us that we're going to hell. (LMAO) but yeah. He is stupid, he's black too. I dont get it, people shouldnt care if its wrong (to their respected belief), or put their personal beliefs into it. But we should have rights and everything. Black ppl should know how to feel to not be wanted, to be social outcasts, and not be considered a human. So its kinda strange, black knows how it feels but we continue to treat others like that. I know, I know, religion plays a big role. Its weird to me, if YOU didnt like being treated that way. What makes you think other people will? Like the saying goes "treat others the way you want to be treated". oh yeah i aint bein racist, im black too. lol Then my friend (she's a girl) got kicked out og THREE classes!!! WHY? Just because she had the lesbian symbol ( ) on her "Ask me why I'm Not Talking" sign. Teachers at my school are real homophobes, and pisses me off.

The kids at my school participated. We typed up cards that said "To day is the day of silence. To the teachers: we are participating so please excuse us if we dont answer your questions. To the students and teachers: please do not attempt to make me talk as your efforts will be in vain. Thanks"
any who got sent to the office just sat their and a few kids got tac (temporarily assigned classroom) for "disrupting class". Only one person didnt sit their and get told they had TAC and she said that we have freedom to protest and freedom of speach and if we want to protest we can and if we dont want to take advantage of our freedom of speech we dont have to and after that the principal let us all go... and can you really be disrupting class if your sitting in your seat not talking while the teacher is? I didnt get into trouble, my teachers all said OK except one who said "we are working in groups today. Do you mind working on the project by yourself?" and i nodded my head yes.

I have to say, alot more people participated than I thought would so it was a good day. Unfortunately, the school consists of alot of mormon students so....not many were swayed by the silence. crying Reguardless, it did leave an impression so all in all, it was worth doing! biggrin

Yesterday, I talked to a few people whos said innapropiate things and the one teacher that as soo against it. I told him he was an a** and the way he acted was immature and a few other things I shouldn't have said but glad I did. He got angry, but sense I don't have his class and he dosn't know my name he can't do anything. The students I told them that what they said made me really angry and sense they arn't used to seeing me upset and they understood. Alot of people that were saying things to me were people I associated with. No random person said anything to me.

alot of people in my school did it I did it froma round bunch cuz I couldnt find the two gilrs handing out the tape...I loved that tape it was cool cuz you knew most of the peopel that were taking part in it and dint even realize what the were...through the whole dy no one said anything about me having the tape on an almost none of them knew I was bi, it was a real good feeling of aceptance. One of my friends did say though that people like us are abnormal..yeah that pissed me off alittle...but its cool hes thought are his thoughts.Day of silence was saying that we were giving a right to NOT speak about what we belive so he had ever right TO say what he belived

DoS was such a great experience, I'm so glad I participated. Nobody even found out that I'm bi (not that it's a secret, I'd tell anyone who asked and most of my friends know). I'm not sure how many people participated in my school, I guess just the GSA and a few other cool people.
I love living in MA. Everyone is so accepting.

I'm not sure being silent is the best way to speak out (no pun intended) but I participated because I think we should have a unified message.
