2.0 did nothing to stop Shanahan from entering the ring, nor would he do something has dishonorable as attacking him before he was ready. But when Shanahan mentioned his daughter, his precious littler girl, he saw white and he ran at Shanahan with the weapon brandished, and went for a low collision with Matt's stomach!

Shanahan made no attempt to stopping 2.0's attack, it would be implausible in his current position. If he wanted to dodge or deflect a move, he wouldn't have gotten into his stance; it was all part of the plan.
Before the Sledgehammer collided with his gut, Matt gave his fabled weapon a powerful swing, aiming it directly at the side of King's head! Whether or not it hit, he wouldn't get to see; as soon as it was coming in close, Scepter connected with his gut, causing him to fall forward with a loud roar.

King hit Shanahan in the stomach with his hammer at the same time as Matt's own bat came down and collided with him. However, Shanahan's preferred target, his head, just managed to avoid contact with what could have been a KNOCK OUT blow, as Shanahan instead hit the shoulder of 2.0 when he hunched slightly to protect himself. Either way, with Shanahan falling forward in pain, 2.0 wasn't able to capitalize, because he was crying out in pain at the feeling of a ******** wood bat colliding with his skin and leaving a big red mark. It would certainly bruise.

Pain surged through Matt's torso in a degree that he hadn't felt in a very long time. His face was a mixture of pain and rage, but he couldn't stay down for long... Where was his Slugger?
With one hand on his stomach, Shanahan pushed himself up to a base with one hand and grabbed the wooden weapon that had landed beside of him, gripping it tightly in his free hand. He was beginning to push himself up to his feet with the help of his weapon... Hopefully, he would be able to.

King fell back into the corner, holding Scepter in both of his hands as he watched Matt try to stand up with the bat in his hands. So he lurched forward with adrenaline, trying to keep his back straight so that the pain of the Steel Post would be a memory, and he wrapped the length of Scepter around the kneeling Matt's throat, pulling back and choking, Slugger or not!

The God of Punks was almost to his feet, when suddenly a wooden pole passed by his vision; that was peculiar... No, that was Scepter's handle being pulled across his throat. A growl escaped his throat as the weapon began to crush his windpipe, cutting off the air supply and halting his blood's course to his brain. The fans were on their feet for King, as he had managed to turn the tides in such a precise manner. Their cheers would be short lived as Matt began to fight back, grabbing the pole of the sledgehammer with his free hand and attempting to pull it away!

King growled when Matt tried to rip that hammer away from King's grasp and Matt's throat. 2.0 responded by leaning a knee into Shanahan's back and pushing him forward onto the sledge even more, even leaning forward to put his weight into it. He shouted in Matt's ear from the new position. "CHOKE ON IT, YOU ********>

Air was vital for life. In fact, some would say that you can't live without it; Shanahan was learning that -very- quickly with the added pressure applied to his back and throat. His face was beginning to turn a nice shade of sky-blue when he realized King's fatal mistake; he moved his head down to his level.
One hand was still on the baseball bat, and that's all he would need. His grip tightened around the weapon as he shot it upward, aiming to collide the base of it with King's face. Was it anywhere close to his full power? Not at all. Was it strong enough to cause some pain? You're damn right.

"This is the first Scepter of mine you're gonna choke on tonig--" He shouted in Matt's ear, but it was cut off and silenced forever by the appearance of the Woman-beating Louisville Whack-a-ma-smack. It collided hard enough with 2.0's face to make him flinch and grimace, groaning as he let go of Matt's throat, but kept his hold on the sledge, staggering backwards unbalanced, and bouncing off the ropes gently...

The God of Punks sucked a gasp of air as he felt the Sledgehammer leave his throat; he almost fell on his face after so much pressure had been relieved. But now wasn't the time for rest, now was the time for action.
After such a crude insult and claim, Shanahan pushed himself up to his feet and broke into a haphazard run at the opposite ropes, letting his instincts take him. He hadn't seen King and had no idea that the man on the opposite side of the ring until he bounced off the ropes. His eyes locked on the staggering Kelly as his bat was raised up to his waist; as he came in close, Matt lurched the bat upward and swung, aiming a brutal, momentum-driven swing to the side of King's head!

THUNK.
The sound of a wooden baseball bat colliding with a man's head was one of the most sickening things in the world, and this attack was no different. 2.0 was hit in the head with the bat and saw stars and galaxies ahead of him. He looked a little milky in the eyes as he whirled on one foot, spinning in the direction that the swing had sent him with the momentum, before falling down on his face gracefully, and slowly rolling out of the ring before Matt could stand to pin him! The commentator's would say it was great ring presence and strategy. But it was just dumb luck.

Matt held his pose for a brief moment after the hit, his feet planted in the ground and the bat extended past his shoulder; he actually gave the people a photo-op, despite how much they seemed to despise him lately.
After giving the fans their moment, he dropped the bat down to the mat and turned to look outside of the ring, down at King. Thoughts raced through his head at the punishment he could deliver to the downed friend; after such rude comments, he was almost tempted to just make innuendos about Kayla King until the man came to.
Instead, Matt slid out of the ring and stood over Kelly King a mere foot away, looking down at the man. "... Get up." He hissed down at him, as if expecting an immediate response.

Matt's expectations were extremely unrealistic as the smaller wrestler lay on the mat on the outside of the ring. Blood trickled down in a small stream from the impact point of the bat's hit, right above his left eye. He simply lay there, motionless. Possibly dead.

The God of Punks remained silent and waited for another moment, still expecting the man to make some sort of recovery after the brutal swing. Once it was clear that he would not be, Matt made his request once more.
"Get up, you limey ********> He shouted this time, while attempting to deliver a kick to the man's torso.

2.0 was kicked in the stomach... but once again, 2.0 didn't move an inch. He barely even reacted to the kick. Was it possible that Matt had literally knocked King out with that baseball bat attack? The referee seemed to think so as he slid out of the ring and backed Shanahan up. He leaned over to check on 2.0, grabbing his arm and lifting it. He let go and King's arm dropped back to the ground, completely limp.
The referee stood up and shouted 1!
