Ian looked back at the island, slowly succumbing to chaos and knew, in a way that he could only attribute to his psychic abilities - that there was no way home for him that way. It would all end here at the lightning struck tower.
He believed in fate, it was one of the few things he really believed in - not a con - and what lay ahead of him was the helicopter and in the distance, the faint outline of a ship.
Taking a deep breath of the sea air, he shrugged off his loose robe like jacket and eyed the water. Desperation made fools of men.
It all hinged on this, he swam until his much too unfit muscle burned with the effort of doing so, swam until he knew grimly there would never be enough energy to go back, nothing but the terrifying bottomless sea below him.
He thought about his cats as he went, tried to focus on them above all else, getting home to Blaine and the others. He would lie in a cat pile for a week.
He was flagging badly by the time he reached the ship and joined the others, but through some miracle he made it. He'd refused to take off the good luck crystals and other things he'd carried with him all this time, and for whatever reason, fate had opted to allow him safe passage.
Maybe they really worked.

Nadya was pretty much jolted as soon as they hit water. She heard everyone talking and checking on each other but for a few moments she didn't reply before uttering a belated, "I'm fine." It had a lot to do with the fact that Nadya was trying to keep her heart from escaping out of her throat just then.
The young woman heard Hannah and blushed a bit, "No. No. I could have done so much better, Hannah. Thank you for kind words, though," she offered a shaken smile.
Shifting from side to side she finally let go of the controls and put shaking hands on her lap, "Is...ship...Yes...We should not stay in this for long, not sure if helicopter can stay up float long..."
The rest sort of went off into a dazed string of Russian words. She didn't feel safe yet. Nadya wouldn't feel safe until she was somewhere that wasn't in a helicopter or a ship because both could potentially sink.
...Sinking...
....No, please don't sink.
Nadya didn't have to worry about sinking too much since the folk on the boat were nice enough to help everyone in the helicopter on board eventually.

Hawkeye decided to not drive away after all. He just went in a circle. There weren't any monsters here anyway. Not yet. Standing at the edge, he noticed a ship off in the distance. A fair distance away. He stood there, staring for awhile, watching someone else make the swim across. Now he had two options: stay on the island longer or try to survive swimming across an ocean to a boat.

Adam drove the four-wheeler up to the helipad and parked. He noticed something was conspicuously absent. Something important. Something like the helicopter. He slouched in his seat and his forehead hit the carhorn. "s**t! I'm too late." He didn't think anyone could hear him over the honking.

Slipping out of the van once it comes to a stop near the helipad, she frowns before she glance back at Fluffy then Tonio. Her eyes turning back before she narrows them out towards the water. Wait...was that a...?
Her eyes went wide for a moment, it was a ship.
Glancing back, she blink as she saw the man from Cecil's building and the snake thing as well. She wasn't sure about the snake thing, as it already went after her before.
Keeping her eyes on it for a moment, she turns to look at Tonio "I think we need to get to that boat. Think you can swim?" she knew she could, it shouldn't be a problem. Except...
Glancing back to Fluffy, she balls her fist up "What about him?" she really didn't want to leave him, but she knew she couldn't swim with him either "I mean...we can't leave him...can we?" she turns her eyes back to the ship.

She loves to talk to everyone, and always tries to include everyone in.
Adam thought this was weird. He was being attacked by a snake. He knew it had to be some magical, mystical monster snake, because it wouldn't make any sense for it to be at Monster Park otherwise. But he couldn't tell that just by looking at it. This was getting waaay too biblical for his tastes and was kind of spooking him out.
He pondered rolling the window down and tossing a granola bar at it to distract it. But then he worried that it'd just crawl through and start biting him proper instead.
He then thought he could roll over the snake. It was being kind of an a**, after all. He started the four-wheeler up again, backed up, and drove forward as fast as he could.

[Enter] The monster attacking the man from the office was the first thing to catch his sight as he pulled the suv to a stop. Cursing mentally he looked to the sky to see if he could spot the helicopter, maybe they weren't to late.. maybe. But much to his dismay the sky was empty, turning he caught Cora's frown and returned one to her.
The hope of escape fleeting fast.
Catching Cora stopped on something he looked out towards the water then nearly jumped out of the suv. A boat! There was hope, sweet glorious hope, only that hope was in the middle of a likely creature ridden body of water. Rubbing over his chin he gave a quick look around for anything they could use as a boat to get to the bigger one, but nothing popped up. At the question he turned and looked to Cora, "of course I can, how about you?" And then she did it, she did exactly what he knew she would as soon as they picked the beast up.
She wanted to take it with them.
"Absolutely we can leave him here! He belongs here Cora, we, we do not, now come on! " Tonio moved to grab her by the arm, "CORA! Let's go!" He wasn't about to let her keep fussing over the creature not when another man was being attacked just feet from them.

A figure made of shadows with purple eyes, long legs and long arms walked into the area. Didn't seem very threatening what with the creature holding a flower and making a cooing noise.
Everyone here
Oh look, isn't he adorable? Or better yet, don't look 8D

Fluffy had at least gotten something of a nap. Or just a rest really. The rest of the trip was fairly uneventful as he found himself now out near the water again. This was a place he'd never been, so he sat up a bit curious, though winched at the pain the followed. Yep, not better yet. Still, he managed to skip out of the car after the humans, wobbling a few steps after them and still dressed in just the blanket. Thankfully he was small enough that it kept things covered.
There was another creature, a snake from before, that was roaming about and got a bit too close to Cora for his liking... and then was promptly run over by a car.
...he whimpered a bit at that, slinking a bit closer to the woman as she seemed to like him more. The man was all too eager to be rid of him it would appear, especially as he listened to their conversation. Things about swimming out to the boat... yes he could see it way out there. And then... if they could leave him? He looked between the two, hunching down a bit at the tone in Tonio's voice as he replied. Though he understood a bit. And truthfully... [I... yes. We should be separate.] They couldn't hear him, but it was a quiet tone. [Tavast said it...] He wouldn't have made the swim in his state. Too many cuts. He'd bleed too much if he tried to swim. [I don't think I could make it if I swam...] Especially not like this. He couldn't imagine trying to swim with these legs. He honestly wasn't sure how humans did any of this. He merely whimpered up at Cora, offering her a sad smile before lightly giving her a headbutt in the side. Effectionately of course. He didn't mean any harm, just that it was ok.
Because he couldn't say it. He merely glanced between the two, then to the boat. Then his heart froze up a bit at a thought as he looked two the pair. [Kraken! There is a kraken it will eat you!] VThe fear became evident on his face as he shook his head, trying to speak some sense. They'd only hear something akin to a high pitched whimper from him, because honestly he couldn't properly convey it. But really, he was just worried. [No more... no more need to die...] He didn't need to see more of them like that. "-o." He couldn't speak, it was more an unintelligible noise he'd intended to sound like that word. They always said it when someone was going to do something bad. Couldn't they see how dangerous it was?
...evenif it was better if they went to be with humans. Away from them. This couldn't be the way. [Please don't die.]
