September couldn't say that he had any one particular zone he favored above the rest in the park, but if there was one that set him on edge, it was Monster Mountain. They had pushed all of their scaled creatures into this zone; dragons and harpies and hungering little frost wyrms. The danger level here was that of any other area; mermaids at the coast could pull someone under the waves, and a murder in the woods - well that was just a textbook fairytale gone wrong waiting to happen.
He couldn't necessarily say that he disliked his job. A part of him was fascinated by the constant flow of impossible creatures around him. But he grew up living in between humans and wild beasts, seeing their raw strength and the way that cages never quite worked out in the end. What is wild must stay wild, someone had said to him once. To tame it is to get yourself killed.
"Tobias!"
He inhaled the sharp, crisp mountain air after calling out after the other, though the last syllables seemed to lace together in near surprise and protectiveness. After all, that massive cerberus bolting towards them looking as though it could eat them for dinner? Not funny. He side-stepped in front of the other and nearly caught the brunt of the canines force as it met a surprise wall in its path. It was nearly instinct; animals were his division. Tobias's safety - whether or not he was the supposed security here, was his as well in a selfish way that he wouldn't ever admit out loud in fear of scaring the other man off. "You," September sighed out at the monster, "are going to be a very good cerberus for me today, aren't you."
To prove his point, he revealed a small treat (really just one of the special pellets they fed them every day), tossing it to Fluffy with a practiced flick of his wrist. Whistling gently, he straightened up, a lanky boy half-guarding a man that looked twice his strength from an over-sized dog.
"So," He turned his eyes to Tobias, allowing his body to arch sideways so that he could grin at the other. "Tell me, what will you show your little tourist group first? Dragons, harpies, flying wolves?" Once he was nearly certain that the cerberus wouldn't do anything dangerous, he moved to circle Tobias in long, careless steps. "I'm unassigned, so I can play our game however I want. But you - you have to sell fun. With your partner of the day - who are you assigned to by the way?" He made the words come off light, but there was something in his eyes that said he thought that this misadventure of theirs would be anything but.
Stressful, tiring, full of impossible-to-predict mistakes. The list went on, and fun was not part of it.
Sighing theatrically, he turned his head back to where they had come from. "Passengers should be arriving by now. All - how many were there? - thirty four of them." Liabilities, a part of his mind supplied unhelpfully. Grinning lopsidedly, he spread his arms to Tobias, even though he still kept a part of his train of thought on the creatures in the backdrop; the dragons and their play toys, and all of the wild creatures in between. "So tell me, how will you woo them? We have a few minutes before we have to meet them, and your partner hasn't even had the grace to make an appearance."
He dropped his hands and smiled at the other, the wind tousling his hair even further, if that sort of thing was possible.
"Shall you sell me the idea of fun?"
Gods knew he could steal a few minutes more.

Dark brown, unruly hair, blue-green cumberbatch eyes. Brief Character Profile: September is laidback, easy-going, and that kind of guy that buys you drinks when you're having a bad day even though you've only met him last night. He's a fan of swirling around in rolling chairs and acting like an overgrown teenager half of the time instead of doing serious work, and he's got a good heart but he sometimes forgoes logic for emotion.

Oh and he was a good dog. He had nearly knocked the both of them over in the process, but he meant no harm. If he'd tumbled over them they'd just have had a big panting face against them as he waited for his treat. Because, to some degree, he knew that coming when told was a good thing. Humans liked it when you did what they wanted, and sent you to a bad place when you did what you knew they hated. Simple as that. Life was easy if he behaved.
So he did.
He bounced a bit as the treat was flicked, catching it in his mouth like the rather pathetic n** of a snack it was. Still, it gave him a little high of sorts to have it, which meant always wanting it. Kind of like a minor bit of crack that kept him happy. Such an addictive drug. But one he just found he couldn't do without, so he simply wagged his tail a bit at the comment about being a 'good cerberus' as the humans seemed to be planning to have a talk. He did trot off a pace or two before sitting down and staring. More expectantly than anything. Because perhaps they wanted something of them? They didn't usually come out without a reason.
What were they talking about? Things?

The berries falling on his head made Caesar once more chuckle with a deep, "Huh..huh.." and a shake of his shoulders. He picked the tiny morsels from his head and stuffed them in his mouth while continuing to watch the bickering.
At least until the handlers arrived.
Humans. The bigfoot's smile stretched awkwardly again. Handlers meant food.. something more substantial than berries. Caesar loped near them, hiding momentarily behind a tree to peak out. Were they here for feeding?
Shyly, he approached, careful to avoid the excited cerberus. He extended his hand to them as if to say 'snacks?'

All Tobias could think upon seeing the creature come forward was s**t, please don't let it touch me. He was security and not a handler for a reason, and a muscle in his jaw tightened as the enormous creature loped forward stupidly, tail wagging enthusiastically.
He was a dog person, just not that kind of dog person.
The dragon was given an irritated look, Tobias sucking in an apprehensive breath as he took a step backwards, out of the line of fire (literally). He was about to just give up and go back to the meeting, pretending he had something more important to do (like taking a nap), but a familiar and all-too-welcome voice made him relax slightly, September taking a step in front of him and tossing a few snacks to the dog-like creature to keep it away. A part of him was unnerved at the thought of September intervening (a selfish part of him disliked seeing the other in any sort of situation where he might be hurt), but September was used to these interactions, more so than Tobias.
"Hmm?" said Tobias, arching his brows. A smile flickered across his face as he lazily let his gaze roam across September's feet, up his legs and his chest, deliberately taking his time before it reached his face, the look in his eyes amused and flirtatious simultaneously.
(It was probably a really really bad idea to be dating a co-worker. They'd never be productive at this rate.)
"Dragons first," Tobias proclaimed, swinging his arms behind his back and relaxing his stance. "Everybody loves things that can breathe fire, right? And then we'll get to the unicorns because those are sparkly (mostly) and people love sparkles."
September was grinning cheekily at him as he moved closer, and Tobias's smile twisted slightly further upwards, though he made no move to reach out towards him (Heaven knew he wanted to, though).
He opened his mouth to say something, then realized they had an audience. Something - was that a bigfoot? had lumbered towards them, looking expectant, and Tobias sighed, slightly ruffled.
"Looks like we'll need more snacks," he said with some annoyance laced into his voice, and reached around September from behind to snack a few and toss them to the bigfoot, letting the creature have its fill.
"For the record," said Tobias, still standing behind September as he leaned close, his lips against the other's ear, though his voice was casual and light. "You're the only one I want to woo, silly. And my idea of fun with you..."
There was an obnoxious grin on his face, Tobias reaching down to squeeze September's backside teasingly before whisking away. It was stupid to flirt at work, he knew it, and there was no one around, but today made him apprehensive somehow, made him want to have just a few more minutes with this boy, this young man that he kept being drawn back to for reasons he couldn't yet understand.
"Let's just say it doesn't involve anything here. Come on, you, let's go find my partner and go and greet our guests."

:s**t? Has Argos tasted s**t then?: Kip asked, scuttling down from his 'perch' and further down the red dragon's face before he stopped on his brow and peered down into his eye. Just in time for the pine cones to fall. Which did indeed happen to land on Kip. But karma seemed to be at its best today, and one bounced right off of the harpy's head and hit Argos in the eye before it fell harmlessly to the ground. :Don't be silly! Kip doesn't eat tree droppings. That's lizard food!: He chortled, as if this was common knowledge.
:Argos is louder! Much much muuuuch louder!: He claimed, motioning with his wings, the 'height' of Argos' voice. :Argos is just jealous because he's too fat to fit into the cube.: He claimed, making up more bullshit like he normally did, and substituting the red dragon's size for shape.
The harpy's annoying mental chatter and verbal squawks continued well after the humans arrived. In fact, he hardly seemed to notice them. Until Fluffy was tossed a treat, that was.
:Hey hey hey!: For the humans, the only thing they would hear, was the obnoxious squawks as Kip ran down from Argos' brow, and down to the tip of his nose. :No fair! Fluffy got a treat! He didn't share!:

Layla ran even as her phone buzzed, she yanked it out and glanced at the text, whoops seemed she'd left security alone. She shoved her phone back into her pocket and had to hop to avoid tripping over a stone. The mountain was not a good place to run around distracted. She hurriedly adjusted her clothes and finished tying off her braid cursing herself again for running late. She usually tried to be so punctual not just because she ADORED her job, but because the poor creatures needed her!
"Sorry! So sorry I'm late everyone, I hope you'll forgive me!" She smiled as she reached the area and gave a quick wave.
"Wow quite the hulabaloo and activity huh? I hope it doesn't make the poor things nervous." She said it with a laugh like a nervous dragon was equal to a nervous cat or dog.
She had to exhale softly and then take a moment to look around and make sure she hadn't run through any monster mountain surprises. Luckily for her it seemed her boots were clean and no odd odor clung to her.

Givign Argos a sand blaster's huff of coarse air, Dyxie barred his fangs in aggravated anger. He didn't have to explain himself to this lazy a**, nor did he have to even tolerate him. He was the leader; he was the one who had been tormented by haunting dreams and visions for weeks and weeks. ::You wouldn't even understand - your mind is too simple to even grasp my stresses.::
He gave the humans a low huff of a rumbling noise, kicking up a little sandstorm at them as they left. Puny little things.
Turning his gaze once again to Argos, and giving a quick haughty look to Banshee, the desert dragon gave what could have been called a smirk. ::After all, you can't even control that little thing.::

Caesar seemed pleased as punch to get some treats. He clumsily caught them as the humans tossed the morsels in his direction and then hungrily gobbled them down.
He did save a couple for Gemma though. The bigfoot lumbered back over to the gargoyle's tree and held a few of the fat pellets up for her.
Snacks?

From behind a group of trees, Viridian flattened his ears, there was too much noise around here. First the dragon, then everyone talking... He yawned. Wait... there was something else. Was that the sound of people? He shook himself out of sleep and padded out of the woods to investigate the sounds.

Usually Layla had to look around much harder to find most of the creatures to give them their feedings. Today however she was quite pleased to find a number of them loosely clustered about. Maybe they could sense how special today was going to be, how many people were going to be around to see them! Maybe they wanted to show off, or maybe after multiple feedings and her singing they were starting to know and like her? She stood for a moment observing them her eyes scanning over scales or fur or flesh for any sign of injury.
They all looked to be in pretty decent shape, she took a few quick notes in a flip book before tucking it back carefully in her pocket and zipping it closed.
"Chow time!"
She smiled and started to pull out the carefully marked packages, each creature got a very specially balanced diet of pellets. Layla had been given painstaking instructions and had to complete all sorts of field work and paperwork and work work before being allowed to handle the pellets and feeding. Now however she was able to do the feeding routines on her own, and now when she wanted to she occasionally gave her favorite creatures a little extra as a treat. Today however she was a bit late with the meals, she'd been told it could cause grumpiness so she moved a bit more nervously.
Viridian flicked his tail in greeting and padded over to Layla, the smell of food reminding him how hungry he was... and how late she was. The large wolf growled as if to reprimand her, and started on his food.

Layla gave a slight frown at the growl but then smiled and held up her hands.
"Okay okay I know I'm late, sorry sweetheart. Now just be nice and eat up because I'll be back soon with lots of nice guests who are gonna be happy to see you!"
She glanced at her watch and then hastily put away all the baggies and things. Time to go fetch her group from the docks, today was not a good day to be running behind schedule!
Caesar didn't know this handler and hung back until she'd left. He was definitely pleased about getting his own food though. The bigfoot lumbered over to collect a piece of fruit and some sort of protein wafer before returning to the trees where he plopped onto his butt and began to eat.
Guests? He expressed aloud to no one in particular as he sloppily consumed his food, crumbs and juice covering his chin and chest.

He finished his food and padded back to the trees.
Caesar was ever so lucky to get some treats too, because he was a good bigfoot. Being nice and polite to the humans was a good thing, it always got them what they wanted. Sure, he was curious about the island, but it wasn't worth the hurting and ending up in a lab. So suffice to say, he was content where he was. Even giving Kip a look. [That's because I'm a good Cerberus.] The human had said something like that, right? He did take a moment to prance a quick circle as if to show off before freezing. Another human had shown up, one he recognized a bit more.
One that came sometimes for a very important part of the day.
And apparently it was for that. Both ears shot up to attention to the mention of show time, and she was about to literally be run over from the over eager beast of a canine until she suddenly had to leave. [Nononononononononono I want mine I want miiiiine!] Everyone but the person who mattered would have heard it, the human only got a chorus of barks as he chased briefly until being given his meal and flopping down. He'd been close enough after all. Trying to escape the Cerberus with his meal intact would have been like trying to get out of a cobra pit without a bite. It wasn't happening.
So once he'd managed to beg his food off the woman he flopped down to eat at the pellets happily, tail wagging s presumably the humans would be heading out. Though his did look up at Caesar at the comment, who happened to be munching away at his own diet of treats. [Iunno... s'more visits? Means treats I think.] They'd never had 'guests.' Just Security, handlers, and those people who ran the place. He wasn't sure what a guest was. People didn't visit. They stayed once they arrived(unless they were bad. Those ones went missing.) Or they showed up to feed them.
Enough was said.

He was two feet away and sitting so I assume he got his food. Otherwise he'd have probably mauled her trying to get it.
