A low tsk had come from the women as she was told to 'change' for appearances. She did it, no questions asked, but making appearances for the sake of looking good wasn't a skill she gave everyone. So after a quick change into a semblance of order, a quick redo of the ponytail she was sporting that day to keep her hair in order, and off she went to the docks. Sadly, not for long. She was merely there to check in, find an assignment, and hopefully get out before the parading began. That being the show for the guests.
Which was going to be a new thing. The first batch to come to the island. If anything, things would be more busy than usual. A quick glance at the list as she arrived told her she was going to be working with the Pheonix group, hopefully things went smoothly. And nothing decided today was the day to act up.
She wasn't too worried about the guests, but sometimes their exhibits could be a bit rambunctious for the sake of simply causing them all a bit of trouble. Still, she was to be with a handler which meant making sure they knew of the same assignment. Honestly, it shouldn't be too troublesome. She didn't know Barry well, but from working in the area he had a similar mind. Get it done regardless of the means. Things shouldn't be too difficult if he was to be the one around. He'd better not have been late though. That was just a bad show of professionalism.
Well best to get on finding her partner for this lovely tour through Juras- Wonder Park before someone got eaten by a beast. And hopefully he was better at this 'selling' thing than she was.
[Exiting to her group.]poke mattix Hallo partner for this event. They should get along well enough~

Tobias arched a brow.
"A suitable companion?" he asked lightly, and took a casual step closer to September, towering over him by a good several inches, his eyes flickering with amusement and what might have almost been a challenge. Their relationship, while not exactly a secret, was not something that he flaunted, nor was it something that he figured was anyone's business but his own, which was why he didn't usually make a habit of mentioning it aloud. If people wanted to know, he would answer truthfully, but in the meantime, he rather liked having September all to himself. "Are you implying something there, my friend?"
There was a hint of knowing in his voice, a flash of something more personal behind the words, but the next moment Tobias was back to being his usual laid-back self, though standing significantly closer to September, as though half shielding him.
A look of mock outrage was on his face as he said, "I happen to be only disastrous when provoked," Tobias deadpanned, and then grinned, shifting from one foot to the other. He gave Les a wave and a nod as the other departed, and then glanced from side to side, contemplating.
"Come here, you," he said, and took September by the wrist, pulling him away from the rest of the crowd so that they were partially behind a wall, Tobias sliding a muscled arm around the other's waist and pulling him against him, pressing his lips against September's in a brief but firm kiss.
"It'll be all right today," he said, as he pulled back, one hand gently running up the other's back in what might have passed for a soothing gesture. "We'll be fine. Don't worry so much, okay?"
He poked a finger at September's brow. "You'll get worry lines, and then you won't be attractive anymore."
Smiling gently to show he was teasing, Tobias bent down for another kiss, this one longer (and maybe not quite as chaste - hey, they were about to go on assignment, he needed to stock up), before pulling away, somewhat regretfully, straightening his tie and smoothing down the front of his uniform.
"You gonna come with me to the dragons?"

Said partner hadn't moved from his spot yet, though he had changed into a new pair of clothes as requested, wearing the same sort of clothing he would of worn in his park ranger days. Loose fitting shirt, khaki pants, and even his hat. He looked every bit the part, now he just had to act it. Another look at the list, and he saw he would be paired with a security personnel. It gave him some confidence that things wouldn't go horribly astray, as he would have someone to back him up. Plus he had the added protection of the remotes that set of the microchips. Always a handy thing. So long as the remote didn't screw up. With a brief glance around the group, he saw who he believed to be Rin was already moving towards the guest area so he made a dash to catch up to her. (exiting)

Melanie didn't look particularly surprised when Les wrapped his arm around her shoulder. In fact, she didn't look very reactive at all. Her lips twisted as she regarded the 'good doctor', and she shrugged. "I am not. She's got better things on her mind than a nobody like me chewing loudly. In ten minutes, I guarantee you she'll be twisting her panties over a misspelled name in the guest list, or something equally as life threatening." She finally looked over at Les, and raised an eyebrow, before leaning in to whisper. "If you're harboring fugitive chocolate, hook me up."

September laughed at Tobias's response, giving the man an appraising once over. He could feel the heat of the others skin this close, and had to force himself to remember that they were, in fact, in a professional setting. And if they had not been, well - but they were, and that was the reality of it all, and September felt a simmering pang of nervous anger at the idea that their whole day was about to be wasted giving out tours when he could be feeding his dragons and catching Tobias off guard in between shifts. He wasn't one for secrecy, but neither was he one to show off his relationship like it was some sort of display like their monsters were about to become. Tobias was more important than that. Tobias deserved a lot more than that.
"A most suitable one indeed." September let his lips quirk, crossing his arms over his chest with a lopsided grin that seemed evermore crooked beneath the countless freckles on his face. "It is deceptively hard you know, finding one. They are very clever in hiding themselves away. Your search will be long and hard." His voice lowered an octave into a stage whisper, though his eyes seemed to lighten with a knowing, personal look that seemed to speak volumes more than words ever could.
He leaned slightly into Tobias, his shoulder brushing the others with an off-kilter grace. He wore a three-piece suit - or what was left of one at least, without a coat to complete it. That particular article of clothing had been lost in the vast nest-turned-sea that was his room. At the question of implication, he merely laughed. "Perhaps I am." He rumbled, raising his eyes to Tobias. "But I leave it to you and your vastly well-trained intellect to figure it out." He made a sweeping gesture with his hand, very much the image of an illusory magicians assistant. Whole and there in one moment, and gone in the next.
When Les dismissed himself, September leaned back to give the other a wave and a lopsided smile before turning back to Tobias with mischievous eyes. "Oh, but I love it when you are." He teased ruthlessly, the unruly curls of his dark brown hair falling over his bright blue-green eyes. He let out a small sound of surprise when he was pulled forward, following thoughtlessly until they were out of the crowd and hidden away. His hands moved soundlessly, circling Tobias's shoulders and pushing against the nape of his neck in a gentle, firm, fond hold.
The kiss was frustratingly brief, and September made a whining noise in the back of his throat when Tobias pulled away, raking his fingers up into the others hair just enough to tease him gently with revenge for earlier. "I - yeah. I know." He laughed, and the sound ebbed with nervousness and warmth, even though he seemed calmer than before. "I just - you're too handsome to get scarred over stupid people doing stupid things, so don't, alright?" He leaned forward to return the others gesture with a chaste kiss.
At the next comment, however, he scoffed, pulling back with a mock look of skepticism. "Since when was I attractive in the first place?" He grinned crookedly, shaking hair away from his eyes. "I imagine the freckles do more damage than worry lines ever could, after all. But you know, I'll try. Just for you." He smiled, and the expression seemed knowing, and even personal, speaking volumes more than words ever could.
He leaned forward into the kiss easily, a breathless hum of pleasure vibrating in his throat. When he leaned back, his cheeks a dusty red and his chest rising and falling just a bit heavier than normal, he smiled, but it wasn't crooked. It was warm, and small, and happy.
That they had to pull away and go back to reality left some part of him disappointed, and perhaps even a bit regretful, and he caught Tobias's wrist, raising his hand to kiss it nearly teasingly - one last gesture of intimacy before their day began. "Wouldn't miss it for the world. I want to see our visitors swoon at dragons - and hopefully only swoon." His lips quirked, and he lowered their hands, squeezing gently before he hesitantly pulled away.
"And afterwards, maybe I can persuade you to come with me somewhere else." He joked, tugging his vest back into a straight position and mussing with his hair in a useless attempt to tame it back down. But finding no luck, September just huffed, blowing a wavy bang out of his eyes and glancing at Tobias.
"Ready to go?"

The three piece suit was nice, Tobias decided. Yes, very nice indeed. He let his gaze sweep over the dark colors, which suited September quite well, all things considered. The shirtsleeves were slightly wrinkled, probably from being pulled out of the dryer too soon (or maybe from being left on the floor for too long good job September), but otherwise it was rather endearing, and Tobias found he liked it a lot.
They had not been dating long; in fact, it had only been about two months since Tobias had decided that what he felt for his co-worker was somewhat more than just simple friendship. He'd never really been all that picky about his preferences anyway, but he had casually dated mostly women in the past. September had been the first guy that Tobias had allowed himself to actually get with, and so far it had been, to his surprise and contentment, very pleasant. September was both adorable and charming, and it was fun to be with him.
"Hush, you," Tobias scolded, poking one of the other's cheeks affectionately. "I happen to like your freckles; they're damned cute. And attractive," he added pointedly, with a tilt of his head, a grin on his face. He ducked his head to whisper in September's ear. "Besides, I like kissing them."
Laughing, he pulled back, and it was slightly disappointing that they had to do, you know, actual work and all that stuff now. Tobias smiled at the kiss to his hand, his expression softening. He reached out and fluffed up September's hair.
"Would that somewhere be your bedroom, maybe?" he asked innocently, and stole one last smirking kiss before darting off, grinning ear to ear, to his assigned place for the day.

No reaction was better then a bad one! When the handler didn't shrug his arm off from around her shoulder's Les leaned just a little more heavily against her. "You're probably right," he conceded, chuckling dryly as his free hand swept up force the bits of hair that had escaped his pony tail back from his face. "I'm sure my phone will blow up with texts from her any minute now about some perceived disaster or another." His head cocked to one side thoughtfully, then dipped as her's came nearer. Chocolate? "OH. Um..." A quick search of his pockets revealed a bite sized twix, left over from the bag he'd demolished the day before. He held the mini candy bar up for her, waggling it in a tempting manner. "It just so happens that I, but what are you going to do for me?"

Les was being a little heavy. Her lips pursed, and her face finally took on an expression - just a little bit of annoyance. Said expression melted away when he mentioned the phone, and she let out a sharp sigh, pulling out her own. "That reminds me." She was pretty sure it was too early to look, but she might as well make sure that.. ... She rolled her eyes and groaned. So much backreading.. she didn't even want to deal with it. The Twix was a welcome distraction, and she snapped her phone shut, her eyes following the small candy as it was waved in front of her. Then she snatched it right out of his hands. "Well, I'm going to let you watch me eat it, for starters." She grinned, ripping into it.

It was, in general, a wise decision not to let September handle any matters relating to keeping clothing in prime condition. The interior of his room was not necessarily messy, but to call it clean was a lie. It was cozy, or so September would like to call it. And it was cleaner than usual, due to the fact that whenever he could manage it, he stole Tobias away from his own to come spend the night.
That his suit was wrinkled just a bit at the edges - well - that was a miracle in of itself.
The handler made a show of looking affronted by the prodding fingers for a moment before swatting at the other with a grin. "Liar. I am not cute - I'm manly." He corrected jokingly. But compared to Tobias, he was anything but. While quite clearly of the male variety, Septembers lanky, skinny limbs and lean muscle made him out to look as though he could easily be snapped in half. He hummed out and nuzzled Tobias briefly when he leaned into whisper, even though the words made his skin prickle with gooseflesh. "Fiend." He laughed, a breathless hiss of sound.
It was a strange idea that he felt nervousness mostly over the selfish idea of keeping Tobias safe. He'd only known the other since they'd both come to the island. And they'd only begun dating a short while ago - two months, if he remembered correctly. And his memory was not all that good. They'd been friends before that. All of those small, non-definitive acts that pooled into what they were now. Unlike Tobias though, September had drifted in and out of relationships for years leading up to his hiring in Wonder park with women and men. And some of them meant something, and some of them didn't. And all he knew was that Tobias was different, in a way he didn't know how to explain.
Sighing theatrically, September made a wild gesture with his free hand and smiled at the other. "It could be." He teased slyly, his grin turning nearly carnivorous for a split second before melting into something warmer as the other dashed off.
And since he was unassigned, he had all of the free will to follow. Shaking his head, September trailed after Tobias, thinking about all of the things they could do once this day was over.
And selfishly, he hoped it would end only too soon.

Brows rose as he awaited her answer, but fell in disappointment as she snatched the candy away and tore into it without so much as a thank you. "That was cold, Mel." The look that followed wasn't quite a pout, but it was close, and he straightened enough so he wasn't leaning on her anymore, quite alright with not having to see that flicker of annoyance flash over that pretty face again. The kicked puppy act was only temporary though. Soon as she'd finished the candy (and he did watch her eat it..) He slid his hand back into his pocket, rummaging around. He hadn't the slightest if he actually had any more, but she didn't know that.

The twix had been popped into her mouth triumphantly, and Les' reaction had her grinning like a cheshire cat. She licked the fingers that got chocolate on them, still determined to keep her clothing clean, and then wiped her hands for any residue. After that, she patted him on the back, and squeezed his shoulder. "Aw, come on now, admit it. It was funny." She brought her other hand up and held her finger and thumb near one another. "A little funny? Teeny bit? Tiiiny little insignificant size of that chocolate's worth funny?" It looked like size mattered, after all.

Finding his pocket empty, he withdrew his hand, sighed, and rolled his eyes down to the woman as she licked her fingers clean then tried to pull an admission of amusement from him. It earned her an unhappy look, but not half as unhappy as it might have been if she hadn't been squeezing his shoulder. "Fine. It was a miniature twixs worth of funny." He was back to not quite pouting again.

"Perfect. Then payment is given in full." She smiled, earnestly this time, and pulled her phone out. "Give me a second, I need to check some stuff before the boat gets here. God knows these tourists aren't going to give us a second to ourselves once they're here." Her voice was lowered for the last part, as if worried that her bosses might be listening. Which they probably were. She'd just lost her suck up points for the apple, didn't she? Ah well.

The guests have arrived here! Before exiting the ship, all recording devices (including cell phones, tablets, and laptops) will need to be given up! But don't worry! A park staff member gives everyone a complimentary Wonder Park notebook and pen for their note-taking needs! After receiving a good three more notices from Whorl, Take was ready to either whoop with joy or have a panic attack as the ship appeared in the distance. He settled for a fistpump and whispering violently to himself, "They're here! Oh my god, what do I do?! What is happening?!" Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a notebook with a check list. The first item on it read: WHEN IN DOUBT: HIDE! Moments later he was nowhere to be seen. The ship docked smoothly and without any problems. Whorl looked like he wanted to just vault off the ship, but settled walking down with a decided bounce in his step. (For the best, really, as he's pushing 70 and nothing ruins a party faster than a broken hip.) "Mr. Moore! Mr. Wickett! I trust all is prepared?" He then continued without giving either a chance to answer, "Excellent! I knew I could count on you to make this perfect! I'll just hurry ahead to the convention center, and let you two sort out the groups. Wonderful!" And then he was gone, railroading several staff members along with him as he talked about catering and ice sculptures.

"Ah, shhh..." Melanie coughed the word away before one of her bosses could hear, and gave Les a half-smile. "Guess our little tête-à-tête will have to wait until lunch break, tough guy. Thanks for the chocolate." It was already putting her in good spirits. Time to go to work. She snapped her phone closed, put it away completely, and walked up to the deck, with the other handlers. She had her list, and looked about as ready to lead a tour group as she'd ever be... which wasn't very much. It didn't help that her partner in crime hadn't shown up yet. She was so hoping to slack.. "Uh, Unicorn group." She held her hand up, waving at the passengers as they disembarked. "If you're in unicorn group, please come with me." A pause, and she relented, putting on a bright smile. "Thank you!" She might as well try.
