rolled 3 +3 for working in beast craft =6 (*)
R'an finally finished with the meat which his dragon was happily munching down and grabbed the oil he had found set out for them. He looked around, working next to the meat table didn't seem like a good idea and he was starting to itch too. Right in the spot that Syriacuth had said. Was this the bond then? Up til now it had been little inklings of feelings that he could tell weren't really his own but now he could actually feel the urge to scratch as Syriacuth and him walked out further so they would have some room.
Of course the little dragon would find a patch of sun and laid right in it, spreading his wings and laying his head on the ground. "Right on my back first please.' The dragon said as he twisted alittle to watch.
R'an smiled and kneeled beside his dragon and started off with a large glob of the stuff and placed right where Syriacuth asked. As soon as he did, he could feel his own itch feeling start to diminish. "Just like that..." Syriacuth seemed to purr and shut his eyes, relaxing as R'an started to rub it in. He was used to this kind of work and was happy the oil would be good for his own hands. He didn't need to be having rough hands now when they would get plenty rough later. He spread the oil out and downward first, going from the shoulders down the spine to the abdomen. HIs dragon enjoying it immensely.
Since he was doing work he was used to. He slipped into his old habit, R'an started to hum one of the teaching songs.

You are not doing it right. Try again. I still itch and my hide feels tight. Maicoth complained, butting Kh'men again. He looked at the others. See what they are doing? Do that?
Kh'men gritted his teeth. "We wouldn't have this problem if you would hold still!"
Again Maicoth slipped and slid, causing Kh'men to glare at his dragon. "If you don't hold still, I will sit on you!"
Try it. The dragon uttered a growl.

Rolled 2 +3 modifier 2+3=5 (*) Jr. Weyrling R'an and Blue Syriacuth
'Just like that.... Lower...' The blue seemed to purr and started to lay on his side, spreading his wings out and letting R'an work, rubbing his oil covered hands all over the dragon's deep blue scales. R'an was careful, moving down to from Syriacuth's shoulders to his side and then to his belly.
'Not there!' The dragon hissed slightly and R'an raised an eyebrow but moved up again. Avoiding the compact blue's stomach. Syriacuth relaxed as his rider worked to make him more comfortable. His whirling eyes looking at the others around them. Seeing how they each reacted to their bondmates's taking care of them. He turned his eyes back to R'an who was humming again. 'Why do you make that noise?' He asked as he got comfortable.
R'an stopped for a moment. 'I don't know, just something I've always like to do.' He thought to the dragon while he continued. It wasn't perfect yes but it was good enough not to sound terrible. Syriacuth searched through his bond's mind. 'Why did you not join that Hall?' He asked, obviously meaning the Harper Hall. R'an chuckled, 'I'm not THAT good. I'm happier being a beastcrafter and now I'm happiest here having you with me.' He smiled at the dragon and Syriacuth seemed to accept that answer and shut his eyes. 'Alittle to the left, on my shoulder.' He directed

C'ross - Rerolling Oiling
"I know the feeling," C'ross admitted quietly. It was a little difficult to focus when surrounded by two full weyrling classes. "I'll be back in just a sec, okay?"
He had to go retrieve a clean damp cloth to wipe down Nimith and get the blood off before he started over. However, once he was done the midnight blue hide, damp and glossy with moisture, made it difficult to tell where he'd oiled and where still needed attention.
Nimith tried his best to help, but C'ross found himself re-oiling trouble spots that he'd already oiled the first go-around. "Shells, this is harder than it looks," he grumbled quietly.

I'saak - Meat reroll
I'saak nodded, making a sympathetic noise and picking apathetically at the meat. It was like someone had filled his bucket entirely with inedible scraps. Every time he thought he was done, there were more bits that just didn't seem to work. And he was...admittedly distracted. He glanced at C'ross probably more than was strictly necessary, eyes straying again and again to his hands.
"...Faranth," he murmured, still digging through the bucket. "Not sure there's even anything in here that she can eat."

rolled 3 +3 for beastcraft 3+3=6 (*) Jr. Weyrling R'an and Blue Syriacuth
Syriacuth was purring, or it felt like that as R'an finished rubbing his neck and chest area, moving back towards his front legs. Since he was doing so well, keeping an eye out for drying spots and such. He started to look around, hearing one of the Weyrlings speak, he saw it was the one he had actually been looking for. The one who helped him at the Hatching. He smiled alittle, though abit nervously. He wasn't much for speaking to strangers, but he leaned over to where C'ross could hear him. "It's not really that hard, you just have to learn some tricks to it." He said in what he hoped was a friendly tone. He didn't want the boy to think he was being saracastic.
Syriacuth looked at his bond, he was speaking to another dragon's bond and watched quietly, waiting to see what would happen. Though he eyed C'ross's dragon, wondering if they would talk to him.

C'ross - Rerolling Oiling
"I can manage just fine when it's only the two of us," C'ross grumbled, "but it's more pressure when there's other people watching you." His eyes kept straying over to I'saak, watching the other young man work, until finally Nimith headbutted him in the side and spoke gently but firmly.
C'ross. Focus.
"Right, sorry, Nim." Slightly abashed, he rubbed his dragon's headknobs, then diligently ran the oiled cloth over the blue's underbelly, between the claws of his feet, the full length of his tail... Everywhere he'd forgotten. As Nimith's smooth hide quickly dried off it made it easier to work, and soon enough he had the entire blue shining. Satisfied, he glanced back over to I'saak.
"I think you just got a bad bucket. Shouldn't be taking this long to remove all the bad pieces... Want me to get you a different one to try again?"

I'saak - Meat reroll
I'saak sighed, picking through the meat despondently and watching C'ross out of the corner of his eye. He was working with Nimith, oiling the blue down until that sleek dark hide shone like metal. It was almost the fine blue ripples of truly well-forged steel. I'saak appreciated the color.
And then Ellibreth was headbutting him, snorting impatiently, and I'saak gave her one of the few pieces of meat he had found that wasn't inedible. C'ross's suggestion brought the smith's attention back to the guard, and I'saak smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I...that'd probably be best. Think someone was looking to cause trouble when they made up this bucket, to be honest.."

“Right. I’ll be right back.”
And C’ross rose to his feet and wandered up to the front of the classroom where the spare buckets were. Nimith, right on his heels, gave his rider a thoughtful, speculative look.
So you and I’saak know each other.
Hmm? Yeah, from way back. Well before I Impressed you. Nimith’s tone was one that C’ross hadn’t heard before from the quiet, thoughtful blue, and he returned the speculative look with interest. And now that we’ve both Impressed in the same clutch, I expect we’ll be spending time together. Why?
No reason, responded Nimith evasively. This bucket looks good.
With a little shrug, he hefted it and brought it back to I’saak. “Try this one. Don’t know if you’ll have any more luck.”

I'saak - Meat reroll
And then C'ross was getting up and actually going to get another bucket. I'saak watched him quietly, eyes on the young man and his blue. Faranth...in some ways this was still surreal. How had this happened to him? He felt Ellibreth curling up beside him and gathered the little green to himself, wrapping his arms around her and pressing his cheek to her hide and smelling her sweet, spicy scent. Dragons. Really dragons. He still wondered if this was happening.
It is. And Nimith's is back with meat! Ellibreth brightened, climbing out of I'saak's arms and dodging toward C'ross and Nimith, prancing beside him until the bucket passed from the former guard's hands and into the former smith's.
...Oh, this was much better. I'saak smiled at C'ross brightly, picking briefly through the meat before scrambling up to present the bucket to the weyrlingmaster. That done, he returned with oil and a rag, as well as the bucket. Kneeling down beside C'ross again, he set to work feeding the scraps into Ellibreth's muzzle, tossing piece after piece into the seemingly-bottomless green.
"It's amazing, how much they can eat," he said quietly, glancing over to C'ross and offering another of those smiles.
I am very hungry and it took you a long time, I'saak, Ellibreth answered, snorting amicably as she tossed back piece after piece. But if you feed me quickly, then I won't be hungry anymore. Also, my back itches.
"One thing at a time, Ellibreth," I'saak laughed softly, reaching out with his free hand to scratch his dragon between her headknobs.
