Ja'kki and Emerath // Burn Post
Ja'kki rubbed the thick hide of the slender neck beneath her, cooing soothingly at the whimpering dragon she rode. This high up, in the midst of fighting, no one would be able to hear the endearments she lavished upon her green. We are stronger than this! It's just a little score, barely a scratch! We've suffered so much worse Emerath! Be strong! Don't let anyone think we're weak!
Emerath twisted in the air, uncomfortable, worried, and frightened until the next clump came within reach of her flame.

Ja'kki and Emerath // Damage Post
Emerath in her distress had waited too long to release her flame and blinked between, clump only half burnt, to save her face and Ja'kki's.
C'mon girl get it together! We were doing so great before! Don't let one hiccup get you down!

D'ei and Lycath | Burn Post HP 57/59 Agility 0
Are you alright, Lycath? D'ei shouted the mental words even though she knew they didn't need to; adrenaline flew through the short woman's veins, louder than she needed to be in the face of the distant pain of her bondmate and the falling clumps of thin Thread. Tell me you're alright!
Of course I'm alright, how else would you be giddy with giddiness? Another blast of fire, bright, hot, sizzling up the age old enemy of both o their kinds.

D'ei and Lycath | Damage Post HP 49/59 Agility 0
D'ei looked left too late. A fat clump sat in her and Lycath's blind spot, dropped in quick from the sky and down onto her shoulder. The brownrider let out a loud yell of alarm, the alien organism burrowing down the thick leather gear and scorching her skin. Lycath flickered between long enough for the Thread to die, fall of, and his mind voice was frantic.
D'ei? What is it? Status!
Minor, like your tail. Shaff it hurt, and he knew it did, but Lycath resisted her unspoken command to keep flying for only a moment. Just a small burn. Go.

Tatath's Stats HP 35, Agility +2
Canaoke had suited up and eagerly gone to fight Thread. Anything to prove that she was supportive of the wherholds. Tatath was eager to show off her agility to the others, especially since Canaoke was sure she was acting proddy.
With a grin, the duo had leapt to the air. It was here and there. Spouts of fire, thread falling, injuries. So much excitement but so much to focus on. One of the few times both rider and dragon were serious.

The blue watched, warily, his eyes whirling. There was no room for mistakes, and he moved to intercept another clump. Burned.
Good job! E'lov said, encouraging. They were doing well so far, in their first threadfall, though it wasn't done yet. They couldn't let their guard down, not now, not while thread still fell from the sky.

Fi'o and Brown Ivanhoth HP: 56/57 Agility: +1
There was so much going on around them, it was becoming a bit difficulty to focus fully on the task at hand. Some of the other dragons were being hurt, and he worried for them! Especially for the lovely, wonderful greens. He wanted to help them, but...but the only way to help them was to fight this Thread!
Yes. That was what he needed to do. With renewed determination, the dark brown spouted another tongue of flame. His was interrupted before he could do much damage, however, as he dove out of the way of another clump of tangled silver strands.

Hyacinth and Carmyn
Hyacinth paced back and forth before her partner, anticipation making an impatient hatchling out of this mature dragon. She threw her head obstinately towards the heavens, where dozens of other dragons and riders were already busy setting the skies weeping the dust of charred thread.
We should already be up there! You’d have thought all of Pern would have woken at the clamor of those damn alarm bells, yet somehow you managed to dodge their din in favor of a few more moments of sleep!
Carmyn hopped along as they started off running, attempting to stuff her right foot hastily into her remaining boot, caught between trying to get to the weyr ledge in time to catch some of the fading action and not fall and break her nose on the uneven stone. Hyacinth loped along easily beside her, thunderclouds of irritation rolling across her thoughts.
I didn’t see you getting up spry as a spring wherry to run to the beck-and-call of those accused bells! And don’t you claim that because YOU happened to drag your scaly rear-end out of bed a bit sooner before mine, that makes you any less of a herdbeast than ME! Carmyn barked out angrily to her insolent partner as they reached the ledge.
The rider grabbed her straps and began hastily attaching them to the great beast, who didn’t take the time to pause between her mental berating of her partner’s incompetence. They took to the skies with a great leap, taking their place amongst their Wing to meet the grey menace.
Hyacinth let out a huge wave of searing flame towards the falling thread, burning a great swath from the sky, a grin of destructive joy curing the edges of her reptilian maw as she watched the ashed fall.

E'lov and Magith HP: 32 Agility: +2
They are flaming well, the blue commented, noticing the other dragons as he scanned for thread. As am I.
His musings were interrupted by a patch of thread, and he took a moment to sear it from the skies. It was an annoyance, but a deadly one, and dragons were built to destroy it.

E'lov and Blue Magith / Damage Post Damage: 5 - 2 = 3 Agility: +2 HP: 29/37
Distracted as he was by his thoughts, the blue missed the thread that brushed the tip of his wing. It wasn't until the pain hit that he flickered between, returning a moment later.
Concentrate on thread, love, E'lov teased. You can think about things later.
The dragon grumbled, clearly not amused. It was not his fault that he was an intellectual. I am trying.

Tennath and D’lek
Tennath pumped his wings, adrenaline from the threadfall coursing through his veins. It’s been far too long since we’ve flown.
Agreed, it’s far better to be contributing than sitting around Benden. D’lek looked to the Wingleader for directions, guiding Tennath to a patch from this wave yet to be scorched. Tennath let loose a neat flame before dodging the remaining thread.

Ja'kki and Emerath // Damage Post
Emerath roared as she felt the hot burn of thread across her back. She flickered between I need more stone! she sent back to the weyr as she came out into clear skies.
Ja'kki twisted in her seat to get a look at the wounds. They were shallow but long over the base of her tail. Green ichor darkened the pale stripe down Emerath's back. We're not out yet.
But soon... I'm tired and hurt.

S’dekai and Pioth // Burn Post
"Second wave's almost done, big fella. Hang in there for me."
Pioth rumbled in agreement, deep in his chest, then ascended to regroup with the rest of the wing. S'dekai, for his part, just did his best to hang on tight and not get in the bronze's way. This time their flame struck true, a long gout of blazing-hot fire incinerating the last clump that fell in their view.
