Jinx
Titan and former criminal

User Image Jinx was going to return some 'sass' toward the boys, when her world seemed to freeze hearing Nightwing's announcement on Behemoth's comm. The pinkette's shoulders slumped, "Oh God, I can't even move in, before something happens. Oh well..... So Alexai, is our fearless leader coming back here, or are we meeting him somewhere?"

Inwardly, Roshni's internal rant continued, as she still kept aware of her surroundings, And so much for lunch and meeting everyone and burying old hatchets. Meh. Beast Boy still looks at me like pond scum, and Raven ... Lord only knows what pit in Hell she'd rather stick me in. I may have a long way to go, but at least I do have one friend. And at least, I seem to get along with some of the new guys...

Jinx's cat eyes briefly look at Toxin, before moving back toward BehemothDon't know about Marko. His entire manner screams ex-con. I know the type. Of course, it wouldn't surprise me, if he was. Nightwing did recruit me after all. Despite what anyone thinks of me, I will redeem myself! I just hope that I don't screw this up.

No one really paid much attention to Mellony once she had snapped out of her panic attack and sank to the floor. But Marko was speaking about bandages. She pushed herself to her feet and went over to the first aid kit. She could wrap her own hands. She fumbled with the box before finally popping it open, a bit of blood getting left behind on the white case. She rummaged around in it until she found some gause and plain white bandages. She placed a few gause pads on her left palm before wrapping the hand neatly in bandages. She tied the bandage one-handed, pulling the uniform not tight with her teeth and right hand. Then she set to work on her right hand. She repeated each step, fumbling a bit more since she was right-hand dominant instead of left.

Soon she was finished and each hand was wrapped neatly in slightly bloodstained bandages. She was inspecting the bandages to make sure they were done properly when Alexai came over to her and handed her a glass of water. She gently took it, holding it loosely in her hands as she silently thanked the other Titan. She lifted the glass to her lips and downed it before setting it back down on the counter in front of her. Then her communicator went off. She kept it hooked to the waistline of her skirt at her right hip. But Alex had taken his out so she left hers where it was. They had to go out? Brilliant. that was the last thing she needed right now.

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She needed to relax. And the only way for her to easily do that was to be in contact with water. She didn't want to have to shower again after being out in the water surrounding the tower's island. So she decided she would just go and take another, much longer, shower. The water running over her head and down her body would be similar to being submerged. And it would have to do for now. She quietly excused herself from the small group, barely making any noise as she backed out of the kitchen and trotted for the door. It opened and she slipped out, breaking into a run down the hallway.

Aria sighed in relief as she saw the lily help Syren relax and also watched as she was asked if she would wrap her hands by jinx. She also heard Toxin ask if she could bandage them and nodded. She was about to do it when she saw Syren get the bandages herself and wrapped her hands. She was still worried and saw how Behemoth ate the seed. She saw how it helped him and was glad to see it helped. She gave Syren the space she needed and watched her leave the room not long after.
She was thinking of maybe going after her and decided against it.

She heard Behemoth talk to Toxin about his sword style and also mention how they might have to go out on patrol soon. She sighed and heard behemoth use the communicator to try and get in contact with Nightwing. She felt a little useless as she did very little but had tried her best. She made sure she had everything and gave everyone there a smile. She sighed and went to sit down on the couch nearby. She wondered if she would ever get the chance to to go out on patrol and hoped that things would go well if she was ever able to.

She looked around and kept quiet as she knew that she really was not the very social type person. She looked over at Jinx and saw how she seemed to thinking something. She knew it would be rude to try and interrupt her so she kept quiet and brought out a rose which she made into a bracelet to keep herself busy.

OOC: Sorry if Black rose seems a little antisocial. I am having trouble trying to think how she can be more active.

Marko "Toxin" Balkic

Your Potentially Poisonous Pal

Company: Jinx and Aria.
Thoughts: Son of a... Well, here we go!
Feeling: Like a Hero

Marko let his thoughts drift as he went back to munching quietly on potato pancakes as Mellony went to her room, and Behemoth followed. He was smart enough to figure out they weren't a thing, but Behemoth seriously wanted them to be- he smirked at the thought, thinking to himself how amusing it would be, this competition. A little healthy testosterone contest. He finished munching on his potato pancake before allowing his eyes to graze the room. Aria was pretty enough, but she just seemed... He didn't know. Not really interesting, he supposed. He hesitated to say 'boring,' but she certainly didn't strike his curiosity. Jinx, on the other hand, was very interesting. Less physically attractive than Mellony or even Aria, she still was certainly a pretty girl, and held an extra aura of being the 'bad girl' or at least the strong, independent type. Those eyes were sly as a fox, and he didn't trust them; but then again, he didn't trust any of these people here, really, so she wasn't getting special treatment. However, he felt a sort of empathy for the girl; an ex-criminal much like himself, she was looked upon with suspicion and when things went to hell, she'd be the first to catch the blame. If anyone ever found out what Marko had done, who he'd been, he only wondered what sort of treatment he'd get for it.

As his thoughts came full-circle to the potato pancake in his hand, there was a distant scream from the depths of the tower. Marko was immediately alert, potato pancake forgotten as he readied himself for a fight. "Get behind something, under something. Find cover, and get ready to jump out and surprise. And most of all, stay quie-" In the middle of his words, the gas began spraying through the room. He didn't even cough, but he could feel uneasy even standing in it; he could only imagine what the others were feeling. He was immune to all poisons, yet this stuff was still effecting him, albeit barely. He frowned, knowing they'd all already had a few full seconds of contact with the gas; he wasn't sure how long it'd last for them, but they'd all gotten a good lungful by now. He couldn't prevent them from seeing whatever horrible hallucinations would flood their minds, as he assumed that's what was happening; he knew of the Scarecrow and his gas through his own studies of heroes and villains worldwide. If you wanted to be the best, you had to know the best. He was familiar with the gas in theory, but in practice... He sighed. "Hold on, folks. It's gonna be a bumpy ride."

He cleared his throat, spreading his arms apart as he gave a momentary, genuine smile at Jinx. "This is gonna really suck," he muttered, closing his eyes. Suddenly the gas began swirling around the room, being sucked from throughout the entire tower into Marko's body. His fists clenched and his eyes scrunched as he felt his chest tighten in apprehension of some unknown force; he told himself, it's just the gas... just the gas, but that didn't help. The entire tower was clear of gas in moments, but Marko's eyes remained shut; he stayed very still for just a few moments, before his eyes suddenly shot open. He stared in horror at the wall for a moment, falling back and scrambling away from the unseen terror. By now the others in the tower should be recovering by now, but Marko's terror had just begun. "No," he whispered, pressing himself against the wall behind him. "Please, God... No..."

There before him, three hundred and seventeen pairs of dead eyes stared into his soul. Weighing his sins against him. Coming for him. He knew what was coming- he was being dragged into hell to join all the souls he'd sent there. Three hundred and seventeen people. Three hundred and seventeen souls, against his. He had no chance. They reached out for him, encasing him in cold, decomposing fingers; he felt them in his hair, around his neck, prying open his mouth. Pulling him down, through the floor. He watched with wild eyes at the walls that were now melting before his eyes, replaced with endless fields of fire and suffering; enormous stalactites that too closely resembled teeth hung from the ceiling, and the gigantic open space below was an ocean of lava. He saw what can only be described as demons ferrying damned souls across the lake of fire, giant centipede-like ghasts impaling their victims while carrying them on their backs. He saw all this clear as day, felt his own hell happen, the fire crawl along his skin, the pitchforks drive into his back, the whips and impalement, and nothing he could do about it. All the while his worldly body was screaming and spasming wildly on the floor, reaching out and pleading for help, crying and thrashing about like a man being burned alive. At some point he'd begun reciting the Lord's Prayer in some foreign language, still unable to move. "Naš otac, koji si na nebesima, sveti se ime tvoje..."

Jinx
Titan and former criminal

User Image Jinx first heard the distant scream the same time that Toxic did, and started to run toward the sound. Roshni's cat eyes widened in shock at seeing Scarecrow's fear gas gushing down at them from above. The Tower was under attack. Swiftly slapping her hand over her mouth and ducked down close to the floor. Quelling her immediate panic, the goth sorceress attempted to scamper toward the emergency door to the roof that ironically she and her former teammates from the H.I.V.E. used to invade this same base a couple of years ago. Unfortunately for our former thief, Jinx didn't quite understand the exact nature Jonathan Crane's concoction, as the fear gas began to take hold on the pinkette...

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. My dear little Jinx. Just where do you think you're going?"

That resonant voice pierced the pinkette to the very core, and Jinx began to glance around in complete panic dropping her hand from her mouth shaking in fear, "No.... You can't be here.... You're gone! They stopped you!!!"

A callous, evil laugh echoed in the room -- which changed before Jinx's very eyes. No longer seemingly in the kitchen of the Tower, Roshni finds herself in the private chambers of her former headmaster chained by her neck to the grand bed beside her. Coming into view in front of her was none other than Brother Blood, "You've been misbehaving again, Jinx. It's time to accept your punishment."

Jinx shakes her head in complete denial backing away from the spectre in front of her, "No.... Not again.... Never again!! Don't TOUCH me!!!"

Brother Blood's eyes flare a sinister shade of red, as several steel chains animate and grapple themselves around the Goth's wrists and ankles. Moving it's victim over toward the bed that Jinx tried to flee from, Brother Blood slowly moved over to the side of the prone girl. Tracing a finger up the side of Jinx's abdomen, the sinister schoolmaster coos his victim, "Jinx, my dear, what makes you even think that you could ever defy me. All you've done is make this even harder on yourself. Now... You're going to make me feel soooo much better."

As Brother Blood's hand traced along Jinx's cheek and jawline, the sorceress' cat eyes flared bright pink as well as her outstretched slender hands. Then, a blood curdling scream escapes Jinx's throat, "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

................

A thick wave of pink energy pulses from Jinx just after her scream, pushing away waves of Scarecrow's gas away. When the hex pulse strikes extend to encompass the spacious room in the Tower, all of the panel windows shatter outward in tiny shards followed by huge gulfs of the gas. The expelled gas slowly dissipates in the strong ocean wind becoming weaker. The hexmistress herself drops on a broken table from Jinx's release of energy still shaken from her personal hell, and she begins to look around at the devastation around her.

Aria was just relaxing and letting her mind wander back when she heard Toxin tell them to hide and get ready to attack. She was wondering why why when she saw the gas come into the room. She was surprised and knew that her immunity to the toxins would protect her and saw how it affected Jinx. She also saw how Toxin was able to be a little affected and pulled out a seed which she made grow in a plant the was made to suck all the toxins in the air. She placed it on the table and made it suck as much as the gas as it could.

She heard Toxin speak in a language that she did not recognize and then was blown back a bit into the wall when she heard jinx scream and release some of her power. She bit back some of the pain and saw how the plant was almost full so she made another quickly and saw that Jinx was back to normal. She looked at her and said "Jinx, take this plant it will be able to absorb the gas so you will be affected again. I need to help out Toxin right now." She got up and quickly gave her plant. She rushed as fast as she could over to where Toxin was and got a seed which grew to the same plant. She placed it in his hand and tried to shake his shoulder to snap him out of it. "Toxin, you need to calm down. This plant will protect you from the effects. You will have to trust me please." She said and hoped that it helped.

She looked and saw how the plant was finished absorbing all the gas and sighed in relief. She was worried as she knew it came from the ventilation system so it was coming from underground. She closed her eyes and made some of the plants that she planted bloom that started to try and absorb as much of the gas as they could. She looked around and hoped that it was helping.

Marko "Toxin" Balkic

Your Potentially Poisonous Pal

Company: Jinx and Aria.
Thoughts: That was... Unpleasant.
Feeling: Shaken up...

Thanks to the somewhat combined effort of Marko's absorbing the vast majority of the gas and the remainder being blown into the wind and absorbed by Aria's plants, the Tower was soon completely free from the thick hallucinogenic smoke. Due to his direct consumption of most of the vile stuff, Marko's terrors remained vivid for quite a bit longer as the other two recovered instantly; he shuddered on the floor as a ghastly figure approached, an unfamiliar shade in this world that placed something in his hand. He heard a vague mumbling as the object touched his skin, at which point it immediately began burrowing into his palm. He screamed in terror and tried to throw it, scrambling back and shaking his hand away, tearing at the skin of his palm and screaming. It finally began wearing off a bit more as his terror at the seed subsided, but the hellish landscape he'd created for himself lasted a few moments longer. Finally that too began fading, until all that was left was three hundred and seventeen pairs of hollow, lifeless eyes peering over him. And finally, even that faded in the cool artificial glow of the Tower.

Marko shuddered as he sat up slowly, staring down at his hands. He'd managed to tear a sizeable gash along his palm and into his forearm in his attempt to remove the hellseed from under his skin; he frowned at that, noticing he'd gotten to the tattoo line. He sighed, not really caring at the moment; he could get it touched up later, if it needed it. At the moment, he was just letting himself detox. That had been a bit too much. Hell? Seriously? And yet it had been so real. And every single face of every single person who'd ever died by his hand- he never really knew that he remembered them all. But thinking back on them now, they each came up clear as crystal, down to the moment the life had faded from their eyes. Those looks of shock, of disbelief, of pain and suffering. At his hands. He stared at those hands, covered with blood; his own, in reality, but in his mind it was still the blood of those three hundred and seventeen. He sighed, pushing himself to his feet as he glanced around at the other people in the tower.

Aria seemed to be alright, more or less, but Jinx looked like she'd taken as much of a toll as he had. Some distant part of his brain registered that it'd been her that had blown out the windows; that extra ventilation had probably saved Marko a few seconds of that hell. Honestly, each of those seconds had been an eternity; an eternity he hadn't really expected to endure. "Not exactly sure when I turned into the self-sacrificing sort," he grunted with a frown, running his wound under warm water. "But I'm already regretting it." Of course, that wasn't the only thing he was currently regretting; those faces still peered at him in his thoughts, and although the terror was gone, an eerie aftertaste hung in the air around his head. "Everybody okay?" There he went again, skipping right to the part where everyone else was just as important as him. He frowned inwardly at that, but hid his emotions with expert skill as he glanced with faux-worried eyes between Jinx and Aria. Aria was fine- the flower girl was, for some reason, immune to the gas. Probably those damned plants of hers, but maybe she just wasn't afraid of anything. That'd be an interesting twist, considering she seemed about as meek as a house rodent. Jinx had been hit full force by the gas, it seemed, but appeared to be recovering rapidly; his eyes lingered on her for a moment, and the worry in his eyes almost seemed to become genuine. "Nobody's seriously hurt?"

Jinx
Titan and former criminal

User Image Between Jinx blast of willpower and Black Rose's plant treatment, Roshni may not be 'right as rain' but she was feeling more herself again. Soreness in her muscles caused the hexmistress to wince slightly, as she slowly sat up. Cat eyes see Toxin looking at her in genuine concern. Jinx's expression softened slightly, as the former thief gave the other reformed criminal a assuring nod to indicate that she was mostly okay. Scanning the wreckage in the vast room, Jinx's visage started to twist into that of anger.

Standing fully up, Jinx's right hand tightened into an angry fist. A bit of a snarl formed on dark pink lips, "I have no idea what dilapidated jackass decided to attack today, but now I'm seriously pissed off!!! But... Before I forget, thanks both of you. Now if you're both alright, let's get down the hallway. I remember hearing a scream that way before the gas hit -- guessing that was Melony. Black Rose, get a couple of more plants ready, I think we're going to need them for Mell and Behemoth."

As the goth sorceress began to make her way over toward the hallway in question, Jinx patted Toxin's shoulder, meeting his gaze, "Thanks again. Anyway, I remember you said something about creating toxins and using them. Do you have any way to producing the reverse? Or... Maybe help flush all of the hallucinogenic gas out of the Tower, if any is still left lingering around?"

Aria sighed in relief as she saw the plants along with toxin's ability and jinx's attack clear the tower. She knew it was the gas created by scarecrow a villain that she had heard about before and was glad to her immunity to it. She heard Toxin ask if everyone was not seriously injured and nodded no in response. She moved a bit and winced as she felt the effect from being pushed into the wall by Jinx's attack. She hid it though and listened as Jinx thanked both of them. She also heard her say how she heard a scream before the gas appeared from Mellony and how Aria should get more plants to help both Mellony and Behemoth.

She nodded in agreement and pulled out two more of the seeds. She made them grow and smiled at her comrades. She knew that she was glad to be able to help out her fellow titans when they needed help. She started to follow after Jinx had started walking down the hallway and heard her talk to Toxin. She smiled and kept quiet as she could see both of them together. She just kept that inside though and got her mind back on track so she would not get distracted from the task at hand,

She made a flower that was able to keep her calm when she would feel scared or nervous on her right wrist to be a guide. She made sure that all the plants were doing their best to keep the gas and was glad to have born with her power. She kept an eye for any more gas or enemy. She smiled at her comrades and waited to what would happen.

Marko "Toxin" Balkic

Your Potentially Poisonous Pal

Company: Jinx and Aria.
Thoughts: I guess we're not done yet...
Feeling: Tired.

"Dilapidated jackass. I've heard all sorts of colorful adjectives in my time, but I've got to admit- that's a new one," Toxin muttered, smirking at the pinkette's snark. Just hearing it helped him recover his own facade of snarky swagger, even if it was forced on like a badly made Halloween mask. His smirk vanished as her comment on the scream made him remember the two that had vanished just before the attack. Mel and Behemoth were back there, probably in the same state they'd been in only moments ago. The immediate space around them had been ventilated thanks to Jinx's mid-freakout blast, and the vast majority of the remaining gas in the tower had been absorbed by Toxin... But some lingering pockets might still hang around, in closed rooms or clinging to fabrics. He sighed, obviously not a fan of that idea. When they began heading that way, he steeled himself for what was to come. He doubted it'd get as bad as it did; the only reason it was, he told himself, was because he'd absorbed so much of it- he figured it would have been enough to literally kill anyone else, even a person immune to the gas, through simple asphyxiation.

When Jinx stopped him on the way to the hallway to thank him, he flashed a brief, slightly more genuine smile than the smirk he'd been carrying. "Yeah, no problem... Just trying to help out," he muttered, chuckling hollowly. "As much as it's worth, right?" He listened with attentive interest as she went on about his powers, asking if he had any way to create a cure. He glanced at his hand for a moment, frowning at the dark lines that were, in fact, his veins. That fear gas was still pumping through his blood, slowly but surely being processed; he likely wouldn't feel normal again until it was. The uneasiness held firm as he clenched his fist, looking Jinx in the eye. "Don't know. Never tried making a cure- probably not, though. As far as getting the rest of it out- I got most of it. Like, the vast majority. I'm not saying it's all gone- it'll have stuck to most fabrics, and there might be pockets lingering in poorly-ventilated rooms. But by and large, the gas is pretty much gone. If we do find any... I'll take care of it," he muttered with a nod, turning before walking down the hallway with obvious purpose.

A small part of him dreaded it, finding a pocket of gas and being forced to absorb it. But the storm had passed, and any little amount they found left in the tower wouldn't be enough to make him see anything. He had to believe that. Because he didn't think he could go to hell again. That thought caused a hesitation in his subconscious; he couldn't go to hell. He frowned inwardly. He'd never much considered the afterlife, being much more focused on the one he was currently living; but looking back, he'd certainly made it clear, at least to the man upstairs, where he was headed. But he wasn't going to change- not for fear of hell. No. He was going to change because, now that he'd seen them again- those three hundred and seventeen faces - he couldn't unsee them. They followed him around every corner. Every slight reflection in every window had their eyes staring at him. Every time he blinked, they were there in the darkness. And it had only been a few minutes since the episode. He sighed. Wasn't it enough? That he was here, trying to change already? But that wasn't quite right; he'd joined the Titans as a means of revenge, not a means of reforming. He sighed, continuing down the hallway lost in his own thoughts.

((I will be playing as Terra until Scythe returns.))

Terra rolled her eyes at his comment about paparazzi catching them. ” Yeah, since you’re sooooooo bad,” she retorted. ”I don’t care much about what people think of me anymore. And you won’t be fighting anyone. Behemoth is on our side, I believe. I remember reading his profile.”
”He is? Wait, isn’t he the one who’s almost always naked?” He shook his head. ”Yeah, Behemoth is a confusing name. It’s not exactly hero-ey.” He made a mental note to come up with a name for the Titan that sounded more fitting for a hero. The changeling made another mental note to keep him away Terra since he seemed to have a hard time keeping his clothes on.

The green Titan took a few steps to the door when a peculiar scent had entered his nostrils, thanks to his animal-like sense of smell. He stopped at the door and raised a hand, signaling Terra to stop. ”Something’s not right,” he said. ”I’ve smelled some pretty gnarly things in my life, but this is different. It smells…..manufactured. It smells like something you’d find in a lab or something.” He thought back to his early childhood, spending days with his parents at their work. He remembered the scents of chemicals to this day and although this new particular scent was never part of their work, his instincts were telling him this was not the smell of someone trying out a new cologne or perfume.

Suddenly there was a scream. Both Titans jumped and Terra bounded for the door. Gar caught her in an instant. ”No, Terra! You don’t understand! I think it’s a gas! There’s nothing we can do right now. Break a window. We’ll think of something later, but we have to be safe to do that!” Terra was shaking violently as he held her back. Being the leader she was, she hated the idea of staying in a room while a teammate was in trouble. Gar didn’t feel great about it either and appreciated her dedication, but they didn’t know what kind of gas it was. What if it was poison? He took the turtleneck part of his uniform and pulled it up so it covered his mouth and nose. Terra took a pillow case, ripped it, and wrapped it around the lower half of her face. She then went to the window and opened it wide. Gar took the bed sheets off the bed, rolled them up, deactivated the automatic door and stuffed the fabric at the bottom of the door to prevent the gas from getting into the room. Terra was fuming that she couldn’t help the others, but Beast Boy was right. They wouldn’t be of much help to the team if they were caught in the gas themselves.

Now with the room secure, Gar pulled the communicator off his belt to send a message to everyone, but Nightwing had beaten him to it. He was informing them of the gas and requesting backup on the East side of the city. The changeling had been right. It was gas, and fortunately it wasn’t poison. Scarecrow was up to his old tricks apparently. Just what they needed, more villains coming to Jump City. But there would be time to whine later. The two Titans looked at each other and after a quick brainstorm decided that they both should go to the city. There was nothing they could really do about the gas situation. Besides, BB remembered that there were two Titans—Toxin and Black Rose—who could absorb the gas. Surely they could handle it. The new Titans in the city needed help and since Gar and Terra’s powers weren’t relevant to gas, they may as well go help in the city. ”Nightwing, this is Terra,” she responded into Beast Boy’s communicator. ”Beast Boy and I are coming to help.

”And I saw Toxin and Black Rose here earlier,” the changeling added. ”They can take care of the gas. We’ll be there soon.” He clipped his communicator back onto his belt and turned to Terra to find her standing on a large boulder hovering outside the window. BB turned into a hawk and they both took off for the east streets.
