Evan's rising impatience with stealth and hallways and especially lasers made him a little less cautious in crossing the grid than he had been previously. Fortunately, it looked like setting off a couple of lasers didn't seem to do anything bad.

Another room full of books that looked suspiciously like the last one. Hopefully he hadn't just gone in a giant circle and wound up where he had started off.

Finally, a room that was noticeably different. Mostly in that the door had inexplicably shut itself behind him after he entered and wouldn't budge no matter how hard he pushed or pulled on it. Evan briefly entertained the idea of kicking it down--both to escape and to relieve some laser-related frustration--but that would probably go against the whole idea of stealth.
Evan explored the room instead, noticing a small vent on the ceiling. It might be wide enough for him to fit through, but probably only just. He dragged a table under it, allowing him to get high enough to reach it After removing the grate, he hauled himself up, immediately regretting it as he got a face full of dust upon sticking his head through. He sneezed but managed--just barely--to squeeze himself into the vent. It took him a little while to inch his way through, and when he came out into the next room, his skin and clothes were streaked with grey.

And then there were more lasers.

The laser grids all seemed to have the same patterns, so it was easy for Evan to pick his way through this one.

Evan poked his head into another room full of books, careful not to enter it completely just in case.

Nothing that screamed "super special demon book" in here, either.

There seemed to be a table in the middle of this room. Hey, wasn't this the same--before Evan could finish that thought, the door shut and locked behind him. He didn't even try to open it this time, merely hanging his head and sighing before getting back up on the table and wiggling his way through the vent again.

Evan heard footsteps as he came out of the other side of the vent. He really didn't feel like waiting for them to pass, so he left the room and just went in the opposite direction.

Finally, finally Evan came across a hallway he was sure he hadn't been down before, mostly because it was labeled as the one he had been looking for all along. He walked down the hallway no longer concerned about stealth or lasers or not punching any security guard he came across. Some of the others came into view, and he forced back a grimace as he saw that they were relatively unscathed while he himself had managed to get so covered in dust that his clothes were more gray than black.

It was nice of Ami to write a note, especially given that Stormy had no excuse like taxes to come in late. Nope, she had done the usual thing: sleep in through her alarm. Her nap had only been meant to be two hours, not three . . . Still, though, at least she was now rested~ =3= And that was good, right?
Except for the part where there needed to be stealth and shuffling feet didn't do that so well. Hearing a guard down the hallway (and trying not to whimper at being both alone and a little herpderp when it came to going solo, for she was just a babby Mist), the teen pulled back and waited until the po-po left.

And then Jay settled in for a long night of headaches, paperwork, and horrible rolling.
At least the room she darted into was nice. Sort of. She felt like the eyes were staring at her and contentedly stared back for a few minutes until the thump of footsteps grew soft and further away. Maybe these paintings wanted to chat when off duty? Hmmm . . . No, Ami would kill her if she spent any more time doing "weird things".

But then she totally did anyway because Stormy.
At least they were conversations she held in her head? She imagined the paintings had very, very interesting perspectives as testaments of their time . . . What must the artists think now?

Her mentally stimulating conversation with inanimate objects finished, Stormy ducked her head out of the room and crept though the museum as quiet as a mouse, the backlash of being late more than enough to set her feet a'flying. Thankfully the Mist trainee was used to going around unnoticed and managed to evade further encounters with the guards and other probably do-not-wants.
"Hullo~" she murmured, finally joining the group as probably the last person ever awesome. Jake got a little nod, though Stormy paused at his coat; different? Or were her eyes playing tricks on her . . . Sherry got a little smile, though she didn't quite approach just yet. She blinked at Pasha and Evan, not remembering their faces from before and giving them and the rest she did not know a small wave and a sleepy blink before turning to the two eldest Hunters. "Fascinating stuff, what paintings have to say. So what'd I miss?" she asked Gale and Ami as if she had been there the whole time.

"Everyone still have all their limbs?" came the response, Gale's voice sounding half tense, half light. Then he asked, his tone more subdued, "In all seriousness, are you lot all right?"
He'd been monitoring their progress, as well as answering a few questions here and there, but it always helped to have verification sometimes.
