"It's not every day that you run into a talking raccoon spirit guide. You know."
Athan slowed down, as if thinking over his partner's words for a brief moment. He -did- have a point, afterall.
"I bet he just told us to come here so we'd leave him alone. That little b*****d. But still, no reason to waste all the time we've spent. There's gotta be something on this island."

"Let's keep... following that girl then..." He gasped, what seemed to be the boardwalk seemed up ahead. Good, they can ask the girl for directions in this island. "We're doing a lot of running, aren't we?" Kit said, stopping at the boardwalk entrance.

The jeep rolled over a dune, spraying sand out from it's tires. They drove past a gigantic sand castle, and some writing on the sand that said, For a good time call 443 802 4486.
"We could head up to the road and go into town, I'm not picking up any distress calls or wierd radio broadcasts right now." Said jacknife as they passed a man lying on the beach. curiously, he was topless as well.

They came up to the boardwalk, and Athan wiped a small amount of sweat from his brow.
"Keeps us in shape, I guess. Either that or we might just be incredibly unprepared and wasting our time."
He shrugged his shoulders and headed into the boardwalk. Perhaps a lead would be found there.

And Allen sighed. Seems like whatever had been going on here was already passed. Which really, really sucked. Alot.
"The reports I'd read mentioned a strange fog. The fog isn't here anymore, so I'd assume that whatever was happening here has passed. We need to find a new lead, now."

Nascen watched the sun bathing women intently as they passed; though, his look was more alike a gentleman appraising works of art than a lecher drooling over some girls. He did have just a touch of goofy grin though.
"Miss Owle, right? She seems very much central to this, as much out of the loop as I am." he said flatly with no prelude. "Am I the only one finding it odd every one we've run into has a decently strong connection to her? And now... we're all rushing off to get the petals to help her, eh, we've all stated her sake in our reasons at least once. But now, we're all rushing off to get the petals because otherwise someone we don't want to have them would." Nascen spoke quickly, his eye going unfocused in thought and then suddenly focusing very sharply as he looked from Flare to Allen.
"We've all had it wrong till now! This isn't right, we're not supposed to be playing, there's only one way we really win; we stop the game."

"I have it from a very reputable source that we're unable to," Flare intoned, as though he hadn't heard her the first time. "If we tell anyone to try and stop the game, it means telling them about the game, which means involving them in it. Which means...then they won't be able to stop the game.
"If we could influence someone into doing things without their knowing why, then perhaps...but what would we have them do? I know not the rules of this game, nor what would bring it to a halt. No, our best bet is to play."

"What if we gathered the petals, then refused to allow a blood sacrefice. The game could not be completed. Therefore it would not end. We could still stop it." He stopped fiddling with the radio. His eyes turned purple as a leather binder lifted off the floorboard. It opened and a cd came out and put itself into the cd player. My mind is clearer now..... At last, all to well, I can see, where we all soon will be Came the voice of Matt Brashears as Judas from the car's speakers.

"Exactly- we're still after the petals, but not back where we started. We get them so we can delay the end when it comes. They're probably magic-y but my bet is that even so there'll be something so significant about them that I can't destroy or disenchant them even. We get them, and we stop the end coming. Then, we figure out how to stop it. There is a way- there's always a third option. The problem is locating it. My bet is it has quite a bit to do with Miss Owle though. We need to delay the game, like you said, and then once we do- we figure out how to break it. We're far off, but it's a start at least."

Allen listened. And he thought. Nascen had a good point about the possibilities, and so did Flare. The problem was which was right? He didn't know, really, and couldn't figure it out without knowing more. But Jacknife had a point.
"Either way, the petals are still central to everything. So we need to gather as many as possible. Until we know more, thats all we can do."

"So we find the petals, and see what happens next," Flare leaned back and folded her arms. "Thus far, we are in agreement."

"Right, problem is we've cut ourselves short on allies; we can't tell anyone more unless we have to, but that means even our former allies are now doing the wrong thing, and we have to stop them. We're setting ourselves off alone here, so if we're going through with this, it's just the six of us- no turning back, and unfortunately, no real allies beside. You all prepared to tear this jig saw puzzle apart?" Nascen leaned forward, the one eyed mercenery setting his hand out palm down in the middle of the rough circle made by the positioning of six people into five seats in front and back of the jeep.
"We're gonna save the world! Ya'll with me?"

"I'll save Owle, and let the world take care of itself," Flare said simply. "In any case, I can get in touch with our former allies as easily as Owle could, and notify them of...your ideas."
She was leery of getting in touch with Owle at the moment; too many gushy feelings were seeping into her from that direction. The shock earlier had startled her somewhat, when she had noticed it...but it was over before she could reach out to Owle. Perhaps it was over before she could have noticed.

"I'm fine with saving the world, but I don't see why we can't bring in more allies. As long as they're playing the game already, it should make no difference. They're already involved."
It seemed logical to Allen, at least. They'd just have to make sure it was only people they trusted. People they knew wouldn't turn against them, rather than complete strangers.

"Well, certainly, but we run a risk then, don't we? We have to make sure no one thinks we're stepping out on them... we have to be careful, no matter where we step or what we do. More people mean a better chance, but it also means that if any of them disagree with us, if they think the first idea of how to solve this is infact right, that person is that much more able to ruin everything because of it..."
