"Wotcher!" It chuckled as the ghouls nearly smacked into each other. "If you got the same enthusiasm for smacking these things around, it'd be much appreciated. Or, well, cheer me on too; that works lovely~" Or get angry. Yes, anger was the key so long as you had it in control.
"Aye, some friends would be nice," it told the demon, grinning innocently at the blush (well, as innocently as one can get with a masss of jagged teeth), and it tilted its hat again. "Actually, I'm gonna be needin' your services soon, bloke, 'cause it's fightin' time! So -"
Tackling a bunch of shadows . . . wasn't a good idea in practice. But boil did it feel like a badass as it punched through them one by one. Especially when it took to leaping onto the food court tables and lunging at the throng of darkness like a madman.

The new arrival was very excitable, it seemed, and Mathias found himself grinning despite his earlier annoyance, fangs flashing as he glanced back. "Ve volpertingers love a good fight!" He shouted, as though in explanation, before dropping his bag to the floor and spreading his arms, black claws at the ready to be used.
And then somebody suddenly there, reaching towards him. "Vut..Vut are you doing?!?" He shouted, attempting to back away from the demon, before hands were placed above him..."Get avay from me! Horst!" He was upset, but only because this boil was getting in his way when he was trying to fight!
Though he did feel...better. Almost stronger, in fact. How very odd....
"Vut did you do to me?" He asked, hands clenching into fists at his sides, as though he might decide to punch the demon rather then the shadowlings.

Her claws flying as she attempts to hit as many as possible. "Take this you shadowy things!!" she hisses out as she attacks them. Kat then grins as she manages to throw one off of her and destroy another.

"Of course..." Edgar just had to go to the maul today. The zombie boil sighed in exasperation as he glanced at his surroundings, noting the chaos and the massive amount of odd black...things lurking around. So much for an uneventful day.
Edgar kept his distance from them for the most part, kicking the one that strayed too close to him for his own comfort. One down, who knows how many left. Seemed like this would be an exercise in futility.

Kari stared at the ghoul, puzzled by the silence that met her question. Maybe she was shy? Kari could understand that, not being much of a talker herself. Her face bloomed into a light scarlet as she overheard chuckling from another fighter, most likely because of the near accident.
Kari was broken out of her embarrassment by the sound of rustling somewhere behind her. The ghoul managed to turn around just as a shadowling jumped out of a nearby shrub for what Kari ironically noted as an ambush.
Kari swung around and landed a direct hit to the shadowling's midsection, beaming as it disappeared into a puff of smoke.
"HAH, try to get the jump on me, will you? About time I hit one of you little pests!", the ghoul shouted, thoroughly pleased with herself.

Zenith's I twitched in mild aggravation as he failed to catch the shadow creature. And now the thing was mocking him. Oh these things were gonna get it... Z hissed, eyes narrowing as he lunged at the stupid thing. Sure the vampire was normally very free spirited. But no one stole from him. No one, and nothing.

With a shake to clear her head, Ruth turned to the ghoul she nearly bowled over. She tilted her head, gave a small smile and rolled her bat arm as if to say she was indeed alright. The yelp from a demon dog elicited an odd gesture, half-wave and half-salute though the smirk on her lips was all mocking.
The monster from earlier suddenly went on the offensive, as did the reaper ghoul who'd caught and managed to have it out with the shadowlings. This got a reaction that involved Ruth putting her fingers to her mouth and whistling in appreciation. Such fun! She was so very glad to have gone to the Maul today!

I'm about to sleep but Ruth will be there. Quietly staring and watching.
Than's attention was instantly redirected at the appearance of yet another bubbly splash of color. Heh. At least this batch of Halloween denizens were easy enough to distinguish from the impish foes. "Merryyyyyyyyyy! Merry-Merry!" It was trilled with boisterous delight, aiming another half-hearted kick at one of the shadowlings before scampering over to join the chimera, arms wrapping 'round her in a warm hug.
But there were matters at hand far more important than their usual pleasantries. "Than is not at all surelike." He mourned, growling half-heartedly over at one of the glowing-eyed beasties that crept too close. "But they are not shoppings, nope. Definitely badlings." The Fae-hound was altogether sure that the one he'd punted earlier had wanted to eat his toes.
That was not at all fine.

So far the day had been going quite well. Miyuki hummed a bit to herself as she browsed through another makeup display. Light silvery blue eyes scanned the high end facial products critically as she debated the newest collections. Miyuki loved cosmetics and her collection was legendary in her home village along with her skill in using it. One pale hand, tipped with perfectly shaped and manicured nails, lifted a set of eyeshadows to her face as she glanced into the small mirror provided by the store. The colors weren't bad, she determined even as she noted the mirror reflecting people running outside the store. "What, did I miss a sale announcement?" Miyuki murmured in amusement as she gathered her shopping bags in one hand and her Japanese silk parasol in the other.
Unconcerned, Miyuki paid for her new cosmetics and stepped out of the store and into the main thoroughfare of the Maul. Light colored eyes took in the scene around her as one foot tapped the ground. From her new position, Miyuki could tell this was no rush for a sale, it was clear the Maul was under attack. Letting out an annoyed breath, the graceful young woman opened her parasol and began walking down the hall, dodging any of the strange little creatures that happened to be in her way. "I think it is time to find somewhere else to finish my shopping." She watched as some other people fought the little pests, her expression faintly annoyed and disinterested. As she walked past a woman with black cat ears, who was attacking the little creatures, Miyuki felt a tugging on her shopping bags. Turning her head, Miyuki's eyes narrowed when she saw one of the little creatures attempting to eat one of her bags. "How dare you. Offensive little vermin." She hissed out, her voice elegant but as cold as an arctic wind. Snapping her umbrella closed, Miyuki stabbed at the little black creature. However the little creature let go of the bag as it dodged her umbrella, avoiding damage.

There was no time to even stop and puzzle over certain things like why the wolpertinger seemed to be making a conscientious effort to avert his eyes or just what the plant-like monster (Touchstone) was supposed to be. Not with the way the shadowlings kept all of them on their toes, ready to exploit any weaknesses they might have the moment they were presented with one.
Moving to a spot that wasn't yet covered by any monster, Yvette found herself innately glad for once that she hadn't managed to purchase anything by far. The shopping bag would likely be too small to be of any use in the battle other than a hindrance in itself plus whatever it contained was bound to be ruined at some point.
Do not vorry for he would handle these shadow creatures?
The red panda monster snorted softly at the wolpertinger's words and accent though a small smile played on the edge of her lips when she took in the sight of the sand boil celebrating over his recent victory. Hah! As if she would allow herself to quietly step aside and let the boils do all the work, she was far from that kind of ghoul for sure. Flattening her ears on her head slightly, she gave a growl as she tackled three of the shadowlings to the ground then proceeded to pummel the living daylgihts out of them.

Unconvinced, Alastair stared at the canine as he insisted he wasn't crying. "...Good. I'm in no mood to babysit."
He did have a few treats in his bag, a tin of mints and a candy bar, but the fact would remain hidden from the stranger as long as Alastair could help it. Ignoring the dog's inquisition, Alastair continued attacking the mysterious beasts whose numbers were beginning to become overwhelming.
Alastair turned his attention to the ghoulish looking demon who appeared to be talking to himself. "Pardon?" He approached Ixel with his typical nonchalance despite the growing anxiety. "You happen to know what's going on?"
His request for answers was interrupted as Van snagged his attention once again. "Miss priss? The name's Alastair, actually." He corrected Van with a sneer but the hostility quickly faded as he prepared to give himself a proper introduction. "But you may call me Lord Destroyer or-" Caught up in self admiration, Alastair failed to notice the stranger had left. Apparently, groping this winged stranger was priority. Huffing, the lion stomped forward, determined to manipulate Van's impression of him into something far more majestic than whatever miss priss suggested.
Quick to dismiss the accomplishment Van was so apparently proud of, Alastair nodded with a significant absence of enthusiasm. "Yes, very nice. But like I said, that's not my-" With a grunt of displeasure Alastair folded his arms across his chest as the dog's attention span vanished again. His tail flicked impatiently with a pout on his face as he stood waiting to recover Van's attention.

There were just so many of them. Edgar felt overwhelmed. He stepped back, glancing around. There were others fighting the shadowlings, but the zombie boil still couldn't help but feel it was a futile effort. The zombie kicked at a nearby shadowling out of frustration, but missed, stumbling and nearly falling on his rear in the process.
