Dakota scoffed at Melvin's reply, shaking his head as he got hit by the Yeti. Not hard, but enough to have him grunting. Chama flaring.
"Seeing as I'm a moon pretty boy, I got a lot of exprience with suns in general. Weapons, non weapons. Intimate, not intimate. You haven't bedded a woman till you got a sun or a mist under you." He grunted again. "By the way, As far as I know. Besides Rep's two boys, I think I'm the only one who handles his flailing weapon without losing a limb or dying. Right Rep?"
At the question of location, Dakota looked around and narrowed his eyes. "Outside of the lab, couple of out buildings out. I see some drained runic barriers and one ******** huge yeti. If ya'll want to help, its apperciated. if not, Well...I can get it covered."
Maybe.
Maybe not as Chama barely scratched the fur of the beast.

Rep had forgotten the headsets broadcast pretty much everything he said to anyone who felt like listening and startled at first at Dakota's voice in his ear. He laughed raucously. "If what I do is flailing I'd like to see how popular I was if I got serious awright." So there was a lab at least, that much was reassuring, at least enough of it was left standing to be recognisable. "And snow in the arctic? Man that's ******** unseasonable." He snorted "But aye, Dakota's the one b*****d I can't seem to beat for whatever reason, that wee ******** chib of a knife he's got is a nightmare." He didn't comment on his opinions on sleeping with Suns, as far as that went, he figured his stance was obvious.
Of course though, trust Dakota to bait in the first yeti of the day.
"We'll be right with you." he reported, digging into the polar bear with deft precision, ignoring Melvin's plea to wait till he was out of the way, they were in a hurry after all. He didn't give a damn about the blood on his hands, blood bothered him less than anything else, and he hastily rolled up the raw skin, claws and all and tied it up with the scarf he wore about his arm before tucking it in his bag. It'd need stretching later. Right now though there was the small issue of not letting a moon become yeti food.
"C'mon goldilocks." he said, slinging the bag on his back again.
He ran off at a jog in the direction of where the labs, according to the map, should have been.
Jerry had wandered off half in search of warmer places to wait the mission out, half out of aimless curiosity. The last time he had really paid attention to this base everything had seemed a lot... smaller...
The roaring Yeti lunging for Dakota. "Ah... Y-YETI!!!" He suddenly belted out, knowing full well Dakota was well aware of the situation.
Even so, as the Yeti took a thrashing swing, Jerry took aim and blasted.
While Rep butchered the bear, all of which Melvin couldn't really look at aside from a quick glance that made him wonder if the doctors would compliment his quick percision with a knife, the Lifer ran off to where he vaguely knew where Dakota last went.
Melvin...you're killin me here. Use this already! I feel ready to burst! He cringed, never liking to hear Saliva beg in such a tone. It wasn't like her, and it also made him uncomfortable.
While running, he aimed the gun at his body and fired, sending a pulse of energy dancing against his shield.
Feeling much better (aside from the blood and bear drool), he arrived and came to a stop. "Wow!" So that was a yeti!
It did look pretty much as a the files had stated. A gorilla-ish monster with fur like a polar bear (thank you Mr. Bear for a refresher on what you looked like) that looked like it could crush your body with both hands. Not wanting to be a pop can in that grip, Melvin decided to take the luxury of keeping his distance. He'd already been mauled once too many today.
Still, he wondered if Yetis could be contained in a large tank and experimented upon. Large Fear creatures were rather hard to contain and work on, but they offered a more complex study on their structure. Not only that, but this was Fear in the human world that had to withstand a great deal of environmental hazards and challenges. What sort of adaptations did it possess when looking under the lens of science?
Seems such a shame to have to kill them all. Maybe we can trap a small one.
This place isn't even in working order and you already want to find a way to trap one.
Seems a shame to waste resources.
Though right now, hunter lives came first. Melvin aimed, narrowing his focus on the sight of his gun, and fired, hitting the yeti in the side.

Gale received a wry grin as he touched her arm, giving it a light squeeze. As much as she didn't care for the cold, she was somewhat excited to get off the island a bit. To Rep's words of advice, the hunter loosed a snort of amusement. 'Best solution to the cold is kicking a**?' Good enough. "Works for me."
Pulling her own goggles down to over her eyes, she casted Ami a glance, grin growing wider. "Yep."
(( sorry, lame a** short tags OTL /really out of it ))
41-60- The remains of the lab building are not in great condition, most of the walls are riddled with holes and most of the equipment has been rendered unusable, worse still the lower floors are not accessible without digging.
Ami nodded at Kat and then headed for the base. She didn't spend much time in any one place, but the labs were where she headed first. The labs would have the libraries and the archives.
As she walked through the hallways with Kat, she found the entire place was run down and broken. Part of her worried if any of the books had even survived- it looked like a wasteland. At least she didn't have to worry much about fire damage. It seemed like any fire up here would be choked out instantly.
In one of the rooms sat a good sized crate, with no writing on it. Normally she would've brushed past it, but since she was looking for something it meant no rock went unturned. With a frown, she summoned Junpei, using the spearhead as a crowbar to open the crate with.
< Ami! I'm not supposed to be used like this!! >
Shut it, monkeyfish.
With a loud snap of splintering wood, the crate broke open, revealing a runic power cell. "Kat? I think I found something."

If she was expecting any of her memories to be triggered by exploration of this place, she was sadly disappointed. Whatever experience she had here, those memories were long gone. Not all a bad thing, really. From what she had heard from others, those memories weren't so pleasant.
Following quietly alongside Ami, she kept a wary eye out for anyone or anything that could be lurking. Though, this place appeared long since abandoned. "Hard to imagine that this place was well and active only months ago." From what she had heard, this place took quite the pounding - it certainly appeared that way.
Leaving Ami to sift through the items left behind, Kat moved off to the other side of the room to her share of searching.
"Kat? I think I found something."
Good! Because she couldn't find anything of use. "Oh? What did you find?" Practically abandoning her search at Ami's announcement, the hunter was immediately by her side, curious to see what she had discovered.

The power cells can be used to power up the heat shields within the base, once you take them over to the generator room, roll 1d10, if you get odd you fail, if you get even you succeed in rigging them to the machinery. You can roll as many times as you like smile
81-100- There are yeti tracks, fresh ones in the snow around what seemed to have been a food storage area, it is flattened and around the perimeter all that remains are various barrier daggers, not charged, seemingly part of the base's defence system. Did you hear something? (roll a yeti if you like)
Ami poked at one of the cells with Junpei (she didn't want to touch it with her own hands first, that just wasn't a good idea). When the cell gave no response, she nodded desummoned Junpei, lifting the cell with her hands. It was a bit too large to fit into one of her pockets, so it just had to be carried.
"I'm sure it will prove useful," she explained, "If not here, we can find a place for it back on the island." Nodding, she said, "Let's continue."
They were a few steps from the lab's exit when a low rumbling stopped Ami's tracks. That wasn't normal. What could've made-
CRASH.
A full sized adult yeti burst through the wall, roaring loudly and spreading the snow and cold air into the labs.

"Damn," Ami grunted, setting the battery down and summoning Junpei in the same fluid motion. "You time to shine, Kat."
"Hmmmmmm~" She'd leave it to Ami's judgement. After all, she honestly had no idea what to do with anything technical. She was lucky if a computer wouldn't explode on her if she attempted to use it. Rubbing the back of her head, she gave the life hunter a slight shrug and followed her lead.
The sudden earthquake like rumble resulted in the sun hunter quickly summoning her weapons into hand. She had no idea of what was to come, but obviously it was something big.
"What the hell is that!?" That was definitely NOT a polar bear! What was it? A yeti? Were those even real? Dumb thought, considering..
At Ami's words, Kat drew her weapons on the beast, only to just.. barely scratch it (WTG KAT). "Uhh, not this time, I think."
Kat was shooting and Ami was already moving in to attack. Just because Kat was a sun didn't mean she got all the fun! "It's a yeti!" Beyond pop culture of the human world, Ami remembered reading about them in one of the monstrologies. Unfortunately, she couldn't recall any details from that reading. She just remembered reading it.
The spear head slashed angrily across the yeti's chest, leaving a dark red mark. The yeti howled in pain, clearly unhappy with their behavior. Ami got in a few more slashes before rolling back, dodging one of the yeti's meaty arms.
HAH! So it was a yeti! Gawd, what a freaky looking creature.. It probably would pay off if Kat had actually done research on some creatures now and again. There might come a time where she might not just be able to simply shoot something. Then again, that would require reading through books that would, quite frankly, put her to sleep in minutes. Maybe she could just drag Ami around instead? She knew what was what.
Speaking of Ami..
"Niiiice. Looks like someone is happy to have their weapon back~" Not that she didn't kick a** even without Junpei, but now she was on fire.
"Be sure to leave some for me, when I get my act together." She called out, loosing a few rounds on the creature.
Ami slid under another swinging arm. Sometimes it really was a pain working with a close combat weapon. Months of runic guns had kept her away from the thick of battle, so being thrust back into it? Not so fun.
An icicle swept across her face, leaving an angry red mark. Nothing serious, but it stung like a b***h out in this cold. "Gck. He's all yours."
