→→→→→→The hands I'd kept clean→→→→→→Now look dirty→→→→→→Before I can doubt my memories→→→→→→My memories are doubting me...Hey, man! Not cool. Sure, she couldn't transform, but that didn't mean that Lethe could act like Annis was the idiot here. The raven shrugged a shoulder, standing upright. "I knew that," she said airily. "Really, ya must have a pretty low opinion of my intelligence levels to think I didn't already know that!"
(Spoiler: She didn't know that. Her laguz senses were dulled compared to other laguz, but she certainly was more sensitive to things not immediately appreciable to the eyes or ears than your standard beorc. All she could genuinely tell was that Tiki was older than she looked.)
"Besides, I'm sure you are too, Princess," Annis added with a wave of her hand. "The kid's clearly nervous and wants to spend time with someone, and you're freakin' her out with that death stare'a yours. I ain't treatin' her like a kid, but you'd know that if y'treated anyone with any sorta kindness and shut off that death glare'a yours sometimes. If you wanna have your mushy catdate with Sunil, I won't be stoppin' ya. Have fun." She turned back to Tiki, one hand on her hip. "Besides, Sunil's a bit of a spaz. I think you could do better than him." She paused. "Unless you don't want to, and Sunil's the guy you've got your eyes set on." She scratched the back of her neck. Hrm. If that was the case, this was gonna be more complicated... Lethe might be kinda stingy, but she wasn't a terrible b***h or anything. It was probably best not to get on her bad side for seemingly no reason.
Probably.
She squatted down to Tiki's level again. It was just rude not to, really, either way. "Because if you want, I can help you with the bids. I've got gold, too." She grinned. "Or we can pool together and win someone even better." Annis thought for a moment, paused, and grinned wider. "Just say the word, Tiki. I've got plenty'a gold saved up from work. I can help you win whoever you want. S'my pleasure." We're mirrors, both of us←←←←←← Reflecting each other's karma←←←←←← Our dirty hands will touch←←←←←← And we'll know its shape...←←←←←←

"Oh dear..." Isadora commented at the scene before her. Just when she forfeited her bid to go against the child, another challenger arrived and raised the stakes. And judging at the look of the feline laguz's face, she was not happy. A jealous ex-girlfriend perhaps?
While Annis was talking with Lethe, Isadora looked down at the child next to her. The paladin could see the worried look on the her face. It seemed that the child didn't have enough gold to bid against the feline. However, she had to admit that the child was determined to win. Just how much could she afford? Probably not much since she wasn't sure how long had the child been in Eyris.
Just then Annis came to Tiki's side and commented about helping her if she wanted to have a date with Sunil. This gave Isadora a thought as she let out a small smile.
"Not a bad idea," Isadora spoke to the raven. "But I think this child wants to go with the kitty." She then turned her attention to the Fire Dragon.
"Two thousand on behalf of this bidder!" The Dame Knight shouted as she placed her hand on Tiki's shoulder to let the Fire Dragon know which bidder she was referring. Although the paladin was unable to have a day with the laguz, at least she was paying for the good cause.
Besides, it seemed that the Dame Knight was sparring against the laguz at this very moment. Just not the kind of sparring she had in mind.

Tiki accepted Annis' wrap, a small smile peaking through. She took a sizable bite out of it, only then realizing her own hunger. She chewed and thought as her gaze wavered between the two women talking in front of her.
Tiki knew that it would be very likely that she would be outbid. She just didn't know why it called for extra bitterness. She thought she was doing everything right... Though who was Tiki to say no to extra charity? She was also used to people talking about her age by now. Hopefully they wouldn't ask for an exact number, because it would be really embarrassing if she couldn't give them one.
She swallowed as Annis knelt to her level again.
"Do you know Sunil? I came here to look for more familiar faces, and I feel like I've met him before. I just don't know where. I was thinking I could ask him. Maybe you can come with me if we both win... If you want?"
But then, the Dame Knight spoke again. Two thousand... For her? Maybe they could all go together! The thought excited Tiki anew, and she jumped a bit in happiness as the blue-haired dame knight placed a hand on her shoulder.

Great now a crew member was getting involved. Lethe remembered fighting alongside Isadora during a prisoner revolt here in Eyris. She felt a little bit betrayed as the dame knight stood in her way.
But the beorc woman and raven laguz were only doing what they thought was right. However, Lethe had a strong will so she wouldn't go down without a hard fight. For her brethren.
"Five thousand," the cloaked figure said frustratingly. Her bag of money from Tibarn could barely cover her bids now. She would dig into her savings from her service to Learania.

Yes, it was finally his turn!
Sunil's name was called, and he moved towards the center of the stage. He had the perfect routine planned out in his head. A handstand walk before sliding into a breakdance move, then ending with him lying on his side and blowing a kiss out to th-- no. That was something only a flirty man could pull off. A flirty man with incredible strength, speed, and flexibility. One of those things were definitely not like the others. (The correct answer was flexibility, because the other three could at least bring home dinner to a family of four.)
Before he could switch into his backup plan (formshift in front of the audience and be the most adorable cat they had ever laid eyes on), someone had already offered a bid. The cat's ears perked up as he looked at the maiden who offered one hundred gold for him. It was that Beorc crew lady, the one rumored to have a fling with some high-ranked bachelor in a far-off land! What was her name... Cornadora? (-shot-) Why was she bidding on him? Did she... gasp! Did she want to give him all the pets?!
Just then, there was another bid. Wait, Sunil was the desired object of a bidding war? Squee~ His gaze shifted over towards a green-haired little Beorc. No. Beorc was not the proper name for her, but she wasn't Laguz either. Was she...? The cat glanced over at the dragon host. There was something similar between the two of them. Was the girl and FD what the others called a Manakitty? That seemed like an odd term for them, but he wasn't aware that he misheard the conversation. Regardless, the new bidder seemed like she would enjoy giving him all the pets much more than the Beorc. Besides, didn't he know her from somewhere? Like... from some mission that sounded like an internet meme? (cue fourth way breakage)
Before the bid could be settled (the Beorc gave up and decided to let the Manakitty win), the door in the back burst open. Sunil jumped a little before looking at the newcomer, who had just shouted a new bid. Eeeeh? Wasn't that 'What's-Her-Face' that was one of the Bird King's subordinates and one of the higher ranked Laguz? What was she doing? And... why was she acting so territorial? It wasn't like he was her mate or anything. Sunil was pretty sure that he had done nothing wrong... oh wait. Maybe she found out he was slacking in the Laguz Army exercises. That couldn't be helped! He was tired from playing tag? with the Watch. They all wanted to try to poke him with their wooden toys but he managed to evade them lots of times! Or... or maybe it was the time he ate her fish that she had left on a plate because the Bird King made her run an errand and she finally tracked him down. Or maybe... shoot, there were simply too many things that she could be mad at him about.
Oh. Maybe she could be mad at him because he lacked Gallian pride and was going to beat it into him if she won. That was a strong possibility too.
Regardless of the reasoning, the she-cat was bidding way too fiercely, growling at her competition and glaring them down. No... what she was doing wasn't making this fun anymore. It took him a lot of courage to even consider doing something like this, and even more so to actually volunteer himself in person.
Annis and Isa looked like they had teamed up to bid against Lethe, but now she had spiked the bid, easily making him the highest bid person at the moment at five thousand gold. While the four girls were battling it out to win a day with Sunil (and the majority of attention turned to them), the bachelor in question slowly raised a trembling hand towards the sash on his head before pulling it down and lowering his head to hide his expression. The cat's ears and tail drooped a little as well. Anyone would be ecstatic to have so many girls fighting for their company, but...
This was supposed to be a fun event. Now it was beginning to feel like that day. He knew deep down that whichever girl won him wasn't going to mistreat him, but some traumas were just too hard to get over completely.
It's just for one day! he tried to reason. Once the playdate is over things will be back the way they used to be!
Would it, though? he answered himself. Even though I've barely learned the basics of reading from my time with the Watch, there was nothing in that sign-up sheet guaranteeing my safety. The moment I leave the protective eyes of the Host Club, I could very well be leashed again and never see the light of day again. It doesn't matter if the Manakete side or the Laguz side wins. Have I forgotten that my kin were bought and sold by their own kind? Even if this isn't an auction like the one from last time, it doesn't change the fact that I'm still being sold off to the highest bidder.
There was a slight pause as the thoughts sunk in. I trust these people. With that resolution, he raised his head a little and pushed the sash back up. However, it was a shoddy resolution. His arm was trembling as he moved the sash up. Sunil was doing nothing more than deceiving himself.
Isn't that what I said last time..?
Sunil looked fine on the outside. A little cold from standing shirtless for so long, so that could explain the occasional shudder. In his feline heart, however, he was beginning to despair.

Cat fight! Except it only involved one cat, as well as a human, a raven, and a dragon. And it had become very heated.
Every time the price was raised, FD verified with whatever party had made the bid that he'd heard their new price, but then someone else would bid even higher. It was very tense, but good for the cause every time a higher bid was thrown out there.
And then Lethe offered five thousand gold! Tough to beat, that. "I hear five thousand gold. Do I hear higher? Going once, twice," he paused, "sold, for five thousand gold!" There was major applause at such a high bid. The dragon did hope his roommate would win a bid if she wanted to, though.
Would the trend of ever increasing bids continue? Everyone would soon find out. "Our next bachelor is Abel Fallon. Abel, if you're present, please come forward so we can all see you."

 Clara Risna -----------------------------------------
Clara saw that Abel was up next. When she saw her boss with out a shirt to cover his muscles, she gets so red that if she was any redder there would be comic nose bleeding. She had quite a bit saved up from all she did, before and after joining the mercenary group. She knew in order to win Abel, she was going to have to take bidding like her fighting style.
"Five hundred gold!"
Hit hard and fast.

"No, no, no, you don't understand, I didn't mean to- This is all just a big- No! No no no nooooo!"
After a bit of a struggle, some attendants managed to pull off Abel's jacket and shove him onto the stage. He stumbled out, nearly tripping over himself and falling into the audience. As he regained balance, he stared out into the audience full of ladies... and he face instantly became bright red. There was an awkward pause for a couple seconds before he rubbed the back of his head and smiled nervously. "Um... H-hi."
The next thing he knew, he had a bid for five hundred gold and his face began to somehow bring new meaning to the meaning of bright red.

Annis picked up Tiki and rested her on her shoulders, wings adjusted so they wouldn't get in her way or get injured, and grinned, keeping her hands on the girl's knees so she wouldn't fall. "Here, this way, you can see the boys better, and you'll get a better idea of who you want to bid on, okay?" She glanced over to Lethe and gave her a thumbs-up and a wide smile before looking back at the stand. No harm, no foul, really. She'd help Tiki get a playdate with someone else.
She already had someone in mind, anyway.
She couldn't help but grin, though, when Abel suddenly appeared on-stage, nervous and exceedingly awkward as he nearly tripped over his own feet. Annis giggled, looking up at Tiki. "Hey, I'mma help you win another guy, except this one, because a friend a'mine wants to try to get a playdate with 'im."
She looked ahead again; the grin had evolved into something rather mischievous. "Doesn't mean I can't make sure she's really serious, though! One-thousand gold on Abel!" "Thank you, Umm..." Before she could ask her name, Annis had already lifted her up and placed her on her shoulders. She couldn't help but chuckle a little bit as it happened. It was far easier to see from here.
"I don't want that other girl to be mad. Maybe I can ask Sunil later." Truth be told she was still a bit shaken. She didn't know what had gone wrong. Part of her didn't expect the other bidder to tell her in a nice way, either. She didn't want to think about that now.
She wasn't feeling sad anymore, however. Now, she was above or level with everyone else, and was content with watching the next man walk on... though he looked a little awkward. He sounded awkward too. But I don't think I'd like being up there with my shirt off either, She thought to herself.
She put a hand to her mouth as the new bachelor turned beat red. Annis almost immediately upped the bid afterwards. "I hope she wins, then." Tiki replied after Annis upped the amount once more. Wait, was that Clara? From last year?

Annis smiled, bouncing Tiki once before letting her settle comfortably on her shoulders again. "And don't you worry yer pretty lil' head about Lethe. She's a real crankypuss, sorta. She's real serious. Doesn't like jokes all that much. She'll calm down once she gets to her playdate with Sunil, don't worry 'bout it."
Annis glanced over at Clara, then looked back towards FD. Just a little more...! "Five-thousand gold on Abel!" She settled back, smiling in satisfaction. Clara would up the bid, and then she'd win, and she'd get to go on her schmoopy-goopy date with her boytoy. And Abel would get to spend time with someone who was hopefully pretty non-threatening.
