Crispin... Shaiming said, in a warning tone; it was clear that the dragon was uncomfortable with continuing. But Crispin was even more uncomfortable with the look on Ennea's face, and the way she'd yelled at him. What was going on? This wasn't a lesson... not anymore.
But he wasn't sure how to end it gracefully. Instead, he jabbed again, his face pale - and the glaive punched through Ennea's FEAR shield, draining it completely. Crispin paled further as the blade sliced a line of red along Ennea's skin.
"O-oh god - I'm sorry!" In a flash, the glaive was gone, and Shaiming's totem form dropped to the ground.

Ennea's axe dematerialized and she staggered and dropped to her knees. Blood was trickling down her right arm and soaking into the cuff of her glove. She dazedly pulled the glove off and pressed it against the cut to help staunch the bleeding.
"It's fine. I'm fine." She said flatly, avoiding Crispin's eyes.
She struggled back to her feet, swaying a little bit as she stood. "Don't apologize." She said, still not looking directly at him. "Good job winning the match. Maybe you won't die after all."
And with that Ennea started slowly trudging off the field. "I'll see you around."

"Ennea..."
For an instant, Crispin thought about going after her, but Shaiming sighed in his mind. Retrieve me, please? Hurriedly, Crispin did so, stuffing the totem into his pants pocket. The dragon made a low, displeased rumble.
Crispin stared at Ennea's retreating back. "Thank you for the lesson!" he shouted, cupping his hands around his mouth to amplify his voice. Then he sighed, and slumped. "Did I do something wrong?"
Mmmm. I do not know... there is damage, there, Shaiming admitted. Not something you or I can tend. It is not your fault, Hunter-mine... The dragon's voice trailed off into a sense of deep concern.
Crispin flopped down on the nearest bench. "I hope I didn't just ******** everything up," he groaned. "I don't really know anybody else here, and... I just... I liked her. Like her."
No matter what happens, you will never be alone again. Shaiming meant it as solace, Crispin knew, and yet - as he watched Ennea vanish into the Deus complex, he wasn't quite sure that Ennea herself had the same promise.
So he worked his hand into the pocket with Shaiming's totem and rubbed his thumb over the smooth surface of the gem, taking deep breaths until he felt better able to move. Only then did he get up and head back to the dorms, but the feeling of vague guilt and unease stayed with him for the rest of the day.
