"Or at least until they kill us. Which--yeah, until we die." Which for him, could very well be soon. Either way, it didn't matter what they chose to do. There was no leaving Deus alive. Or at least, not in a way that they would survive for long.
"Kind of makes you wonder what they do with those they think are beyond 'correcting.'" He had heard that some get shoved back into the pods. But surely there was more to it than that. He couldn't imagine Deus keeping a bunch of sleepers, people who they would never consider using ever again.

Deryk fidgeted for a moment or so, then decided to mention his experience with someone who potentially fit that bill.
"Not sure... But.. met a rogue hunter once. His weapon been removed and he was... completely insane. Killed a hunter and tried to kill my team by blowing himself up... Don't know full story behind him though.. Not yet at least."
He wondered if it was a similar thing to what had happened to Kat and Ryan. Being banished with the intent of them dying... but instead they survived. Only Mike had never returned to Deus.

"A rouge hunter?" He repeated. There were such things. He didn't imagine that anyone would escape Deus and live to tell the tale of it. Or worse, fight back against them. Though from what Deryk was telling him, he wasn't the sane sort either. "He killed another hunter and tried to kill you guys as well?" This was the first time he heard about this. But what probably what caught his interest the most, was that Deryk said he was weaponless. Did that mean he had been in a similar situation to Kat and himself? Or was it because of something else entirely.
Wait...
"Whoa wait. You don't think I'm going to take a walk on the crazy side and go murderous and suicidal do you?" Okay now the drawings were starting to look very bad.

Deryk nodded slowly to that. He wasn't too surprised that others hadn't heard of the incident. The hunters that fetched he and his team blamed it on Halloween. He doubted they knew Mike was there in the first place.
"... I.. I hope not.. B-but he seemed pretty distressed about having his weapon taken away. Went on about how he made one mistake... Dunno what it was. Said he could understand Halloween.. getting a rush on killing others..." he murmured, recalling everything.
"There were some students there too. But.. don't think the rest of my team would have made it if it weren't for them. Know I wouldn't have gotten out of the fire the crazy rogue set before he revealed himself.."

"Well its not something I'm too happy about either but..." Going on a killing spree? He wasn't sure he would ever do something like that. No he couldn't do something like that. Save for one man, maybe. The fact that what Deryk described had been so similar to what he and Kat were going through didn't help either. He didn't know what had happened nor even who this 'Mike' was, but... One mistake and you lost everything. He could understand the rage and resentment that would be caused by that loss.
"Students... That kind of doesn't surprise me. For as bad as they claim them to be, from the few I've met, they don't seem all that bad." A pause. "Err.. save for that one. Some bird or winged creature." That wasn't a creature he wanted to encounter again anytime soon.

"Know they aren't all bad.. They also got this organization. DETH. Kinda like PETA.. only instead of animal rights it's humans. Believes in safe scaring and stuff like that."Letting out a breath, Deryk just frowned at the whole thing revolving all of this. There wasn't a lot of what they did here that felt right to him. Especially when it came to those kids. The horsemen were a completely different matter, of course. And something told him that they were leading those very same students astray. Considering that he's spotted them working with the horsemen and all. It really wasn't a good sign.

"Err.." PETA? As in that over the top, ridiculous, animal organization? Hopefully this DETH wasn't on the same uhh.. level as PETA. It was nice to know there were some creatures who wanted to protect them, instead of maim and kill them. But in spite of that, he wasn't sure how he felt about it. Weirded out maybe.
"Good to know some of them don't want to kill us."

"Don't think most of them do. Seems like killing us is against laws and stuff, yes," Deryk said while scratching his head. It was a little weird in a way. Did this mean that the horsemen were like poachers? It.. was a little easier to think of it as 'thou shall not murder' sort of thing. Yeah, he'll think of it that way.

This got weirder and weirder. It was strange enough knowing that those creatures talked and acted like they did. Or that some were even protecting them, but laws? They had laws now too? He supposed it shouldn't have surprised him. After all, from the times he had seen them, the way they acted and talked he should have assumed as much. But even still--
"I think I just hit the weird max level for the day." He rubbed his head, trying to wrap his mind around the idea of it.

"Yeah but..." Some of these creatures they were talking about were animals. Like, real animals. The idea of them being organized and stuff like humans was just plain weird. "I suppose so." From all the crimes he had seen the horsemen commit, he wouldn't doubt such words and yet, he couldn't help but think back to what Madea had told him and Kat.

Deryk watched Ryan for a moment, then decided to let it go. Though, he was curious of what this was. Maybe it was something from one of the other hunters. "Alright. U-um... anyway, I guess I could leave you alone now. Unless y-you need something? Food? water?"

Ryan shook his head. "No, I'm fine. Thank you for offering though. I should probably be getting back too, actually." He admitted before getting to his feet and dusting himself off. Though not before collecting his drawing pad and whatever drawing utensils he had with him.
"See you around, it was nice talking with you." He offered the other a wave, before walking back in the direction of the dorms.
