Well, he was certainly learning a lot abut her. That was one of the perks of dates, really.
"Oh.. well, yeah. With a leader like that.." There were a number of times he thought about other divisions, just to be away from him. "But he tends to head a lot of major missions, so really there is no escape. Its not like I gotta deal with him all that often."
Otto stopped as Nevada acted strangely. He looked at her, then over at the tank.
Oh....Oh!
Snake, right.
"S'alright, yanno. Its behind a tank. If anythin' this is the best way for you to see them.." He tried to be somewhat reassuring.

She whispered at him, still watching the snake as it watched her. She moved her head, it did too.
"That's what they all say." But she was a resonable female, even in the face of one of her fears and stuck her tongue out at the tank. Safe from the snake's dangerous instincts against her. Yeah how you like that snake.
/you know pidge, even if it did pop out, all you have to do is summon me and shoot it./
"Not in a place full of people Leroy!" Nevada hissed loudly and then flushed, wiping her hand on her face. Oh god, the weapon who had been silent this whole trip had decided to speak up and she just spoke outloud...back to it...again.
"Ah sorry, Leroy decided now was a good time to remind me of his presence in my mind. Which always makes sound like a crazy person." Thank god Otto was from the Island too though, he knew what she was talking about.
"Okay, Okay I'm cool." She took another breath, trying not to be flustered and embarassed. Once she was quiet, that same lazy smile appeared again. "Lead the way handsome, onwards to much more terrfyingly big things to pet."

Otto rose a brow, but he knew who she was talking to. Lucky for her, Otto didn't feel like teasing her about it.
"Geez Louise, girl.. ya get all squeaky over a snake, but all geared up to pet a damn shark..." The teen tugged the girl forward again, stopping once they finally reached the tank. Shark petting time.
"I don't get how petting a shark is a good idea.." He said in a murmur, staring as little kids leaned over to try and grab at the life below. "Think one'll fall in and become Shark Bait?"

She smiled and squeezed their joined hands, "Of course! Sharks are much better then snakes. I can respect a larger mammal in the wildlife who isn't so...slick about their kills. I mainly don't like snakes because they just squeeze the life out of you slowly, wrapping their bodies around you." She was totally demonstrating by reaching over and wrapping her arms around his chest, encircling him with her arms. "Once they grip on though, they start that slow and unnerving squeeze, you feel just pressure from waiting." She was slowly squeezing him tighter against her, her face flushing over a teasing smile. "And when they feel you right on the edge of death, just as you take your last gasp....They swallow you whole." She made a slurp sound before shuddering, letting go of the boy.
"I really hate snakes." She laughed, "Plus whale sharks don't really exude the whole idea of Jaws to me. You know, big shark that would bite a person in half. Must be safe if they are letting you touch them right?" She studied the kids too, where were your parents kids, shame on the parents who let their kids wander far. "I don't know, Let's see what we're looking at first and decide if they are worthy of the shark's appetite."
Heading over closer, she looked over the tank where a VERY LARGE VERSION OF A BOTTOM FEEDER, was swimming around. Brown flesh mottled with white spots and a large mouth that even had Nevada pulling her hand back for a second.
"Oh my god its huge, look at that mouth, is there teeth in there!!?!?" She stared at the kids who were happily petting it every time it passed.

Nevada's demonstration of how snakes kill was both on the informative side and slightly on the 'was this just an excuse to hug me?' side. Either or. Though the slurping sound sort of killed it for him. "Creeper." He teased, flicking her forehead as she leaned away.
"What the... dude.. that thing could inhale one of them kids." Otto leaned over a bit to get a good look. "Teeth would make it more horrifying.." He murmured.
He reached out a hand to pet it anyway.

It was just a reason to hug you Otto, you're to hard to resist after so long, Nevada had been doing her best not to just laze on you after all. She just smiled more broadly at his forehead flick.
"Creeper snakes they are indeed!" She looked ONE MORE TIME AT THE KIDS WITHOUT THEIR PARENTS, a clear look of dissapproval and then back to the whale shark that was STILL swimming lazy circles for them.
but instead of petting it, she leaned over and studied it. "How do you think it see's? I don't see eyes on it at all." She whispered, "Inhale oh god, I bet they do in the sea. Its like a vacuum, worse then a snake...." She still didn't put her hand in and looked at Otto, "What if you pet its eyes!?!?"

"Ya think maybe those spots are its eyes? Or maybe it sees with its mouth." If the spots were its eyes, he was petting eyeballs right about now.
"If I pet its eyes, I think it'd be a lot more agitated." He smirked and leaned closer to her. "Maybe it sees with its mind."

She gasped and leaned back over to Otto.
"What if its mouth is its mind, one way passage right to the brain?"
She waited a second, "But then that would mean its stomach is its brain, and that's taking thoughts for food way too seriously."

"See now yer confusin the Hell outta me." Otto gave her a sassy look and a raised brow. "Then again, the brain to mouth filter would be nonexistant if its mind was its mouth, right?"
. . .
"Great, now I'm overthinkin' it too. Lets go see yer damn penguins."

"Well if we went off the possibility that its spots are its eyes, then couldn't the stomach and brain also be each other? It would be like, you could literally say this whale shark thinks with its stomach!" BAD DA DUM.
"Oh are you sure you don't want to ask Otto?" She looked over her shoulder at the whale shark and snorted. The mention of penquins though had her making a happy squeak and she took his hand again. "LEAD ME TO THE BIRDS CAPTAIN!" It wasn't really yelled but more excited.
Yes Otto, back to using your death skills to find the tuxedo birds.

"The way to that shark's mind is through its stomach." Okay, these jokes were so bad he was cringing at his own.
Hand in hand, and map pulled out of pocket with free hand, Otto led the way to the penguins. "Hold yer horses, Penguin Queen." He muttered as he studied the map while walking. "They're not real birds, they don't even fly.."

"Now that brings in the question if its heart is in its stomach. Mama always told me that the way to the man's heart was through his stomach." She drawled and then laughed, "Oh god, okay its getting bad. Whale stomach talk over."
She slowed her pace to Otto's as he looked over the map and tried her best not adore just the amount of drawl that had happened in those three words. Of course, she didn't have accents to go off but she really enjoyed the southern twang that Otto threw in with his words.
Mama also did say the south raised their boys right, and she had no doubt that Otto was probably a true southern gentleman under all that sass.
"They don't need to fly to be birds. I can think of much worse flapless birds...like..um..." wait for it. "Ostrichs." She gave him a sly smile. "They like the land so much, they burrow their heads in the ground." Well Nevada was moving from information about herself to about animals.
"But Penquins look so cute. don't ask why though, I have no idea." She leaned over to look at the map over his shoulder. "Are we far?" She asked innocently.

"Ostriches are friggn' weird. Big, buggy eyes n' all." Kind of neat though. "Wait, they really do that? I thought it was just a cartoon thing.."
"Uuuuh... I don't know. Where are we on this thing...." Dumb map. It was the map's fault. "Wait, okay, I get it. Nah, its just like.. a few tanks down." He stuffed the map back in his pocket and led her forward.
"Penguins just remind me of that time in Antarctica. Apparently a bunch of other hunters got turned into them at one point."

"Not my favorite of the bird kingdom," Nevada nodded, "No its actually proven! When they are scared, they dig a hole in the ground and bam! Hide out there." She nodded more, hair sweeping back and forth.
"I don't know, Where are we Otto?" She leaned in to peer at the map, but just as she got a look at it, he moved it away. Darn. Then it was stuffed in his pocket as they took off again. Hmmm~
"That's good! Means we don't have to travel far!" Excitement was welling up, Penguins.
Hunter penguins!! Oh my god how adorable would that....
"No. They did?" She whispered looking at Otto with a starry eyed expression. "I would've taken them all home like that, oh my god how adorable they must've been. Honestly!"

"What a dumb bird. They could run and be better off, what with those huge asses stickin' up from the hole." Natural Selection had skipped the Ostrich, it seemed.
"I think someone took a video of it. I don't remember who.... maybe Molly?" He was like.. 80% certain of it. "Anyway, penguins." He gestured a few feet ahead of them, to a large enclosure that dozens of kids and parents were crowding around. "Guh... its popular."
