Reasoning:: His attack is very offensive based and he feels he's best suited to be the one to go out and get the job done. He's no good with negotiating with others and his short fuse prevents him from taking the time to gather intel on his enemy. He feels he's only a grunt and grunts only function is to fight, simple as that.

She would also be terribly bored in intelligence. Spec-ops would let her put her combat skills to use and would just be the most logical course for her.

She has money power and prestige that can be used to greatly benefit the cause of chaos. She is also very sociable and charismatic, suited more for talking and manipulation than out and out physicality and fighting.

Reasoning:: Much like some of her peers, Moonstone is really built for combat. Moonstone's focus is battle for the glory of Metallia/Chaos - GenOps is okay for her but she'd do better being slightly more specialized. Spec-ops really is the best place for her to be with her combat skills (she has trained with several other combat-focused officers, including Cinnabar and Linarite-before her defection) and her wont to go in for the kill.
At one point she was working for/with Zinkenite but it quickly became clear she wasn't meant for Infiltration and Information. So, yes.

He has a strange habit of wanting to know what makes people tick and think certain things, so gathering information on all those that he can, is the perfect spot.

As a trained hunter, he has decent experience in combat plus the willingness to learn. He seldom questions orders.
