Another Shadow beast. Melvin sighed when he heard it coming there way. "For a Island for resting Gods, you'd think they'd just be napping instead of roaming around like this." These guys needed to just take a break. It was as if a security system was going off the second they stepped out of the portal. At least this one didn't have a buddy.
"Alright." Melvin said, and started to move to the side, giving a firm, loud whistle to the creature. He was getting tired of being bait, but at least he could manage one monster better than two.

"They're just... big... SHADOWS!" Jerry snarled, popping off a quick shot like a spray of quills before running around to the other side of the thing. If they could keep this up, it would be too confused to fight back.

"Well don't Shadow's sleep?" He called back, waving at the shadow beast to look at him. "It's like they can sense we're here. Think they are security?" He called back, theorizing in the middle of a fight while he whistled at the creature.
"Hey! Over here, Mall cop!" He called at it, clapping at it to come over.

"Shadows NEVER sleep," Jerry snarled, popping off another quick bark of a blast before stumbling over a vine. He hissed as claws raked past him, "Quick, call it over so I can get another shot!!"

"You sound like a bad movie narrator." He commented before Jerry tripped and called for him to get the creatures attention.
"HEY!!!! LOOK OVER HERE!! YEAH! Over here, buddy!" He called out, feeling rather strange being THIS loud. He was normally quiet that making a skeptical of himself was alien and felt out of character. He was also trying to find things to say that didn't make him sound ridiculous even if it was just Jerry and a Shadow creature they'd wind up killing.
Instead, he just placed a finger between his mouth and let out a sharp, loud whistle.

Another pot shot, but he needed to put more distance between them to get better footing before firing or this was never going to work. "All charged up?" He panted to his weapon. Roar purred and growled in response.
The monster swerved toward Melvin, giving a low moan at the sting of the quick blast and shriek of the Lifer's whistle.,,

Oh geez! This thing had some rank breath, and as it roared and bellowed, Melvin covered his mouth and stopped yelling just to keep from breathing it in. This one was eating something that had been rotting, that was for sure.
"Oh MAN! You're breath stinks!" He called back, just being loud for the sake of keeping it's attention. Still, it was hard to breath with such a rank smell, and the creature was becoming distracted with the pesting Jerry.

Jerry's blast went wild, and the creature turned with a sharp, hissing roar, a slam of it's shadowy fist sending him tumbling.
"That's... not... distracting it, Melvin-!" He groaned, gathering himself back up.

"Sorry! Sorry!" He called out, moving over and seeing that this particular beast had a tail or what he hoped was a tail. He reached over to the appendage and grabbed it, pulling at the end and hoping that actual touch would work to get it to turn. The most it did was mildly annoy the creature, who paused to start swinging it's tail and sending Melvin back to the ground.
So much for distracting.

"AWOOOOOOO!!" The creature had turned to Melvin, pausing long enough for Jerry to finally show him what the weapon could do, the blast ripping forth through shadow and it's screams soon joined his howl.

Melvin was nearly squished as the Shadow stumbled back, and scrambling away, he looked up in time to see the monster turned, snarling as it moved to Jerry. If you hit for that much punch, it was bound to get it's attention.
"Head's Up!" Shadow was pissed and no amount of whistling was going to get him to change it's direction.
Getting up, Melvin rushed to grab a vine and move over, hoping to tangle the thing up a bit. Hey, it worked in movies.

The monster stumbled on the vine, but Jerry's next blast was knocked askew by a thrashing shadowy claw, sending him tumbling against a tree with a yelp.

Melvin moved with the vine, throwing it between the creatures legs in a tangled mess and started to move to the next leg. This did little as the monster kept moving about, before it ripped the vine with one step.
Well, so much for that idea. Melvin rushed away before getting stomped on and cupped his mouth. "HEY! PAY ATTENTION! I look better to eat than that guy! Come on!"

The monster staggered, tripping up in the vines as it howled in pain. Jerry gathered himself back up, wobbling a bit as he took aim and fired once more, but Melvin's hog tying seemed to send the creature off kilter, and it soon came thundering down, a limb slamming into the Sun in the process.

s**t! Jerry was going to get himself killed again.
He has a shield, dummy.
Right. Still, that wouldn't work if this thing grabbed him and swallowed him whole. Thinking, he knew that he couldn't get it's attention by jabbing at it. This was when he looked up at the canopy. There didn't seem to be limbs that could fall down, but there were fines and leaves and a bit of vines that could work to fall down.
Firing up at the sky, he sent vines toppling down on the creature, causing it to rise and shake it's head, crawling at it's body to tear off the vines.
Melvin moved over and started to move the limb off the Sun. "Hey, you can't die first. I'm the Red Shirt here." He told him, dragging the limb away.
