Kibwe's eyes lit up as Skan Kanati pronounced he was going to be a part of the Sky clan. Though he could not read the swirls of smoke, he watched them with a kind of curious awe. Kibwe felt his past and his future was contained in the wisps, so he couldn't help but watch them until they completely faded away.
"Thank you," Kibwe finally said, bowing his head briefly before stepping away so that others could come forward. It was obvious that he was full of joy, with the light, playful steps he took and the huge smile across his face. He couldn't wait to mingle with the others!

Ka's large counter part was not too far away from her. His steps were awkwardly placed but yet had a different sense of confident than normal. In most places his size got in the way and even though he felt weird standing next to a bunch of others that seemed much smaller than himself he was feeling good. He was looking forward to having a home that he knew he would be welcomed and accepted in, not only that but he was with his friend whom he cared deeply about. He felt like for all of his life he had been on quite the adventure and he was now here preparing to start a new chapter in his life. He had no clue what was coming his way but he was excited and that was for sure.
He approached the fire, his tail flicking behind him he approached with Ka and stared into the fire. After her introduction a smile curled across his lips and he introduced himself. "And I am Ceyx." He gave a nod and plucked a few of his own hairs out of his mane and dropped them into the fire, He watchs as they puffed and suddenly disappeared. It was fast and easy and he could already start to feel a little better

For Haikea'sielu, this was a very, very big change. Uncharacteristically so, even, and something he hadn't been able to help but reflect upon when he'd traveled back to the swamps to fetch a piece of them. It had occurred to him, albeit briefly, that he hadn't had to come back; he could have stayed there, or even just visited. Let his family know that he was alright - and really, he wouldn't be that far away.
But he hadn't. He'd gone to the border, picked up what he needed, and come back in time for the ceremony. If he'd lingered - something he was very good at doing - he wouldn't have made it back, and that would have been awful. He wanted to be here, with Hari. The energetic, beautiful lioness was...quite motivating.
Sielu waited patiently for his turn, then approached and offered the now-dry vegetation he'd ventured off to find. "My mother called me Bokoboko, but the name I found for myself is Haikea'sielu. This is from my home."

Ciqala watched with interest as the lion took his offering. It did surprise the young male that he wasn't the only petite male within the Ela'wadiyi lands. He felt a little better about such a thing, more comfortable with the knowledge that he had found a home most fitting. The spirits had brought him here for a reason.
When Skan spoke the word -- Earth -- the white and brown lion gave a nod, though a sudden smile of pleasure could not be stopped from forming on his maw. His green eyes brightened and he offered another bow to the lion. "Earth Clan. . . " He tasted it on his tongue and found it good, a sense of pride already beginning to form. "Thank you, sir," he dipped his head again -- only remembering too late he'd just bowed -- and quietly retreated.
Earth Clan.
Yes. . . . he was now, officially, home.

Quietly, the brown coated female watched as her fur was put towards the flames. She kept her eyes only on the fire, as if she might see her brown fur turn to ash, as if she needed to see it transform in to smoke. Maybe, in a small way, she did need to see it.
This was to be her new beginning. The older lioness was prepared to work towards a new future, a better tomorrow. One with companionship, with a pride to aid and help support. She would no longer be caught unawares or offguard out in the rogue lands. She would no longer need suffer alone during the upsets of life. Furthermore, she no longer had the haunted ghost of her believed infertility, or the ache of abandonment that it had wrought.
No, there would be no more judgement.
When Skan spoke the words Mantis Clan, Yuma''li's ears pricked. A slow, warm smile crossed her features and she bowed low to the ground. If there was a brightness in her eyes, perhaps a touch of tears, she might blame it on the smoke. For such a simple ceremony, it brought her heart much joy, and much relief. "Thank you," she spoke, her words quiet, polite, but a deep emotion stirred within. "I will do my best to honor the Ela'wadiyi, and shall hold Mantis Clan dear." With that, the lioness made a slow, reverent retreat.

What did he seek? Azria wasn't sure as he stared intently at the smoke rising from the tuft of golden hair, trying, perhaps, to see what Skan saw, though nothing more than a wisp of silvery gray met his gaze. Perhaps it was all for the better. Perhaps he didn't want to see or know or understand how it worked.
The dark lion lifted his gaze back up to meet the other lion's, and he nodded wordlessly, as close a thanks as he could manage at the moment, and stepped away. When he did, he glanced behind him to all the others gathered behind him, beside him, before him. They, too, stood waiting for their fate to be told.
He swallowed the apprehension that had risen in his throat. There was no turning back now, he had committed, and so he would stay. There was always tomorrow, after all, and he never knew what that would bring him.
So Azria turned away, and wondered if he would be welcome.

Skan waited as the next lion approached, nodding at the black lion that approached him. He worried a bit, and his brow creased a little as he approached. No, there was no truth to anything that Skan worried about, even Muujiza told him he was worrying about nothing. With a small sigh to himself, he nodded to the black lion.
"Erebos. I welcome you." He burned the offering, seeing the smoke twist in a different direction than was normal. Interesting.
"You are to be within the Sky Clan." He said, feeling a bit..relieved, actually. The reading went well, and Skan was loosing any bit of anxiety that lingered when he had started the ceremony.

Skan watched as the black lion left, and the next one approached. A sandy coloured lion with a thick brown mane. As he gave his offering to Skan, the wanidatsi was a little amused at it. Clever to offer a bit from the different patterns and colours of his body. The fur would grow back, but it might make the reading more clear.
And it was.
"Hadar...your future and everything you want, including a family, is in the Shadow Clan. Go to them, and be happy."

Another male! Well, certainly some of the ladies of the Ela'wadiyi as a whole were scoping out these new males. Those that were not born and raised as Ela'wadiyi were always seen as just a tad more interesting, with stories of the outside world, as well as their 'naked' bodies. He chuckled at that as the next one approached.
"Hello, Kuon," Skan said, his tongue unfamiliar with the name. He accepted the offerings with a thankful nod, and sprinkled them onto the flames, watching as the hungry fire ate at the hair, and struggled to do anything against the stone. It certainly would lose its luster and not because as pretty as it had been, but its purpose had been served.
"Ahhh, I see," Skan said, his eyes lighting a bit. "Kuon, I see that your future lies within the clan of the Mantis."

Skan watched as the nervous young male approached him. Perhaps that was why he had waited towards the end; they were getting close to wrapping this up, at least compared to earlier. He watched as the male approached, listened to his short explanation, and then accepted the offering. "There is much history in this," he said. He paused before placing it in the hot, smoldering pile, a few stray flames fighting to stay alive. Knowing that the bone would char, but not burn all the way with the short amount of time it took to read, he added a few more herbs into the pile, making sure that the flames were content.
"Ah...I see you've traveled far," said Skan, his only extra comment he made while Seeing where this Hakizimana would go. "You've come to your new home, and you will be part of the Bird Clan. Welcome home."

It was done. He could see that Ka'ohu and Ceyx were two halves made whole with one another. The smoke that was given off by their fur mingling together int he flames was even more proof of that. It was heartening to see it.
"Ka'ohu. Ceyx. I can tell that this is the end of the road for your lives as rogues. Thw two of you together will become part of the Ela'wadiyi, and your new home will be the Bird Clan."
It was hard to not feel a sense of pity when looking at Ka'ohu's form, but he knew that she would only grow stronger here, and Ceyx would make sure of that. More pride filled his chest, just...happy that he could be there to see the two of them strengthen under the watch of he and his clan.

Skan's ear twitched as the next lion introduced himself with two names. Interesting. It reminded him of something, but it wasn't coming up in the front of his mind. Rather annoying, but he would worry about that later. For now, he needed to read the future of this gold-and-brown lion. He nodded towards the lion, accepting the vegetation. It crunched under his control, and he knew that the heat and flames would swallow this offering too fast, too greedily. He had to be ready once he set it on.
Even when he felt he had prepared himself, the reading was fast. Almost too fast, though he definitely saw the hint of bird's wings within the smoke. A good sign.
"The bird clan is where you are to go, Haikea'sielu."

Bahati was still uncertain... It wasn't that she didn't want to give her thanks to the pride for their hospitality during her very brief stay, but she had always shied away from the limelight. Here, at this very moment, she among others was here to make her offering and from what she understood, this was but a small part of what being in the Ela meant. Suffice to say that she was naive in many respects, but she did appreciate the gravity of the situation at the very least!
Thus, gathering her wits and composure, the lioness sucked in a breath and shyly stepped forward. The first part of her offering had been easy, it had been the same as everyone else's. As such, she deposited the tuft of fur into the fire and then, she took a quick glance at the final offering in her paw. It had been a small sapling, barely rooted into the ground when she had found it. Weak and vulnerable, it was just like her, but with the right encouragement and environment it could have grown new and strong.
...Symbolically speaking, it suited her quiet well.
Clearing her throat, the lioness then set the sapling into the fire with much more care than she had with her fur, and finally it was done, her offering had been given and hopefully it would be deemed suitable.

Almost done. Skan breathed a sigh of relief. There would be time for him to recover, and that same time would be used for the new members to meet their new clan mates. It was all tense and stressful, unintentionally feeding off of the energy of the new pride members. It was easy to feel stressed when the lion in front of you was stressed about this choice within their life.
Well, the next one that approached, a black lioness, was nervous. That was obvious. He smiled and nodded to her reassuringly. He watched with a curious hint in his eyes when he added to her offering, a little tree that wasn't destined to make it. It was destined to tell him what her story was, and where her future may lie. Sometimes there was a hint of other clans, and he was to determine which clan suited them best.
"Bahati," he breathed, feeling better about what he saw the more he thought about it. "Your offering told me a bit about your past, but it also showed me what your future might show. I saw the Clan of the Wolf in the reading, and that is where you are to go."

Kuon nodded, his eyes searching for the others who had been assigned to the Mantis clan. He would be seeing them a lot from this day forward. He wasn’t entirely sure he liked the name of his clan – it wasn’t the most imposing creature, after all – but nothing could lower his spirits today and he took the new information with his typically good-natured smile.
“Thank you.” He said with an unusual formality to his tone, bowing his head a little as moved back. The start of his new life. Mantis, huh?

And so her fate was decided - gentle but thorough, Skan had spoken clearly. She was to join the Wolf Clan...it was a clan that she had touched upon briefly before, though she hadn't put all the pieces of this puzzle together just yet. Mzimu had been a part of this clan and it had been through her chance encounter with him that she had taken such a 'brave' step into the unknown. When she realised where she was destined to be and its significance, she would be much more thankful to Skan than she would be able to express... after all, familiarity was something she would gravitate towards!
"Thank you," she murmured quietly, bowing her head just a little before padding away from the fire so that any other rogue who had been granted entrance to the pride lands, could make their own offering as well.
