The exact moment that Kettil had said her name, Freya was starting to get up, and she paused to turn and look at him. "Ja?" She responded quickly while getting on all fours and scurrying a few feet away. She retrieved something from under the couch, then crawled back over beside him, turned, and flopped onto her back. She smushed herself up against him and threw something in the air - a little golden ball, soft and squishy. She threw it once, caught it, and then threw it again, this time a little to the left, for him.

She was suddenly there smushed up against him and there was a glint of something tossed into the air and when it seemed like it was falling toward his side he reached up and caught it. He held onto the object for a moment, "Do you sometimes feel scared when you think of the future?" he asked softly and then he tossed the ball as if turning this into a new type of game.
He asks a question and hopefully gets an answer (and the ball).

Freya reached out with both hands and snatched the ball from the air. "Teh futures?" She repeated, thinking on it for a moment as she smushed the ball in her hands. "I don't thinks much abouts it. I suppose if I sat and thoughts about it too long, somethings might scares me, but.."
It was clear Freya had far more direct things bothering her psyche, nowadays.
"Why? Is teh futures scarings yeh?" She flicked the ball back up in the air at him.

"A little bit, ya," he admitted as he reached up and caught the ball and turned it about in his hand as he worked out the wording of his thoughts, "I mean I guess I think too far ahead and sometimes I wonder if people I love will still be around or... If that will change too..."
He shifted his shoulders a bit, "I worry about you a lot," he admitted with a bit of a smile, "it's why I came here, because I want to help you so badly it hurts. If I could fix what was hurting you so bad with just a snap of my fingers...I'd do it." Then he tossed the ball back at Freya.

Freya rolled her eyes, which made her miss the ball as it came at her and smacked her on the head. She snorted and picked up the fallen ball, squeezing it in frustration.
"If yehr really so scareds yehr goings teh lose me, then yeh don't knows me the way I always thought yeh did. I'm hurting." The ball was squeezed tighter. "And I'm not sure how to fix it. But there's no amount of pain or suffering or stupid brain problems that could ever rips me from yehr side. Why don't yeh realize that by now, yeh stupid lug?"
She bent one elbow to prop up on it, bending over him and smacking him over the head with the ball. "I mades yeh a promise. Nobody will ever makes me breaks that promise." The moment was sincere, and tender - and instantly broken by her crass sarcasm. "So stop being such an a** about it."

He kind of sat up a bit and propped up his torso with his elbows and this brought his face closer to Freya's as he stared at her, "Oh I know ya pretty well but that doesn't mean nothin' bad won't happen," he gave her a meaningful stare indicating what she'd done to herself so far, "to take you away from me and everyone that loves you."
Kettil wasn't going to back down from his point. He wanted her to know that she had scared him pretty badly with all this.
"If I stop being an a** about it then that means I stopped carin' so I am not gonna stop," he then stuck his tongue out at her to very maturely make his point.

Hel secretly wasn’t aware that when it came to her sister, she had some pretty magical timing.
The ghoul was humming a bit as she stepped down the hall, and was actually eager yet anxious to show off her new hair cut to the older valkyrie. As she drew closer though, she found it rather…odd that her door seemed to be…not up…
Hrm.
The reaper didn’t stall, and the next thing Kettil and Freya knew, there would be a short haired, dark skinned ghoul standing in the door way, staring at the two of them with a blank look on her face. If that wasn’t enough to get their attention…what she was about to do next, was. Hel stuck her pinkies into the corners of her mouth, and then whistled, very loudly.

Freya's sarcasm faded from her face. Why did Kettil always have to go and say things that made her feel like that? She felt guilty, and confused, and lost, and her hand lifted up to rub at her chest idly.
"Hooter." Freya whispered with a deeply furrowed brow. "Yeh makes my heart hurt." She didn't look angry about it. She just looked extremely confused. The last thing she needed was another mystery on her hands.
When the whistle came, Freya's entire body convulsed in shock. This of course made her slam her head right into Kettil, foreheads clashing with great force. But hey, at least their lips didn't touch. No homo.
"WHAT THE ********! Owwwww.." She was going to be feeling that one in the morning.

"I didn't mean t'say it to make your heart hu--," There was a yelp and then he startled forward and smashed his own forehead against Freya's and he then fell back onto his back clutching his forehead, "Owowowowowow." Could you get a concussion from smashing foreheads like that? Oh Jack. Ow.
He sort of peeked at the figure that had whistled and oddly enough recognized, "...He..Hel?"

The ghoul took her fingers out of her mouth, grinning like a fiend at the chaos she had just caused. “The Nordic rape whistle!” She cried triumphantly, pumping her fists into the air victoriously and then started to go through her apron pockets.
“Now Kettil…” Her tongue stuck out in concentration as she seemed to be looking for something. Seriously, it wasn’t a big apron, but it seemed like she was digging through the pockets of space or something. Finally, she pulled out a little paper doll she had made when she was bored one day during class, and held it out for them to see. “If you will show me where on the doll she touched you…”
Always trolling her sister. Never not.

"HEL!" Freya screamed ferociously, hearing her sister's voice before seeing her. She was still rubbing her head, after all. "GETS OUTS OF MY ROOMS BEFORE I KILLS YEH!" She pushed herself up to her feet, stormed towards her sister-
And stopped cold when her eyes actually registered what she was looking at. Freya looked like she was about to strangle her sister, but her hands went lax when she realized what she was looking at, and her jaw dropped. Then her hands went to touch the ghoul's hair instead of wrapping around her neck.
Three seconds later, Freya dropped to her knees.
Two seconds after that, her arms flung into the air and she began mournful wailing and sobbing.
"WWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!"
Not that it was obvious, but Freya's first instinct was to assume that the hunters had returned. They weren't satisfied with her sister's wings. They had come back for her hair.

He could go along with the tormenting Freya playfully, even while tears streamed a bit from the corners of his eyes from the head trauma he was grinning a little, and he was about to point out the points where Freya had touched him while the Blonde Valkyrie raged at her younger sibling, but then there was a very hysterical Freya.
Hysterical and screaming.
His head felt like it was going to explode like an overripe melon.
....Freya was clearly part banshee and Kettil couldn't think of what to do next other than curl up and clutch his head. Oh Jack. "I..It's just...She cut her hair! It's okay!?"
It was okay, right?

Hel was laughing. Ah, Freya…screaming at her to get out…good ol’ times. The older sister reaching for her throat was nothing new either. “Nooooooooo!” Hel wailed, waving her paper doll around. “Think of the scarelings! The violence!”
But then….then Hel’s good mood went right down the gutter upon seeing her sister’s reaction to her hair.
Not that Hel cared what people thought about her appearance…well, okay, she kind of did. But only select people…and Freya was one of them…and now Freya was on the floor screaming and sobbing like her hair was the most horrible thing known to Halloween. Good mood, ruined. Good feelings, gone. Her lips immediately pulled into a scowl, and the paper doll she had been holding carefully was now crushed in her fist.
“Oh, ******** you, Freya!” The ghoul snarled. “The ghoul who was waving a knife around at the base of her braid the other day has no room to talk about me cutting my hair!”

Freya's wailing cut off when Hel's last few words actually cut through the noise and got into her thick skull. She just sniffed, and her eyes flickered wildly as she tried to process what she'd just heard, before she got up off her knees and looked at her sister again. Her hands went up to touch the ends of the hair, trembling as they did so.
"Yeh.. yeh cuts it on purpose?" Freya whispered, her voice hoarse from all the over-dramatic wailing. "Yeh CHOSE teh loose yehr braids, crumpet?" Her eyes went from her sister's hair, to her eyes. She felt like she was looking, bewildered, at a stranger.
"But .. why?!"
The mention of her own threat to cut her hair made her skin flush, and as if she owed him something, she turned guilty eyes to Kettil. "Wasn't really goings teh cuts it." She muttered under her breath, brushing it off.

Then things started to turn ugly and ... Kettil wasn't sure what to do about it. Quietly he started to shift up to his feet so he could leave and let the Sisters duke it but then he paused staring from Hel toward Freya and then back again, "She WHAT?!"
Kettil was aware of some of the finer parts of the traditions that Freya informed him of but he didn't quite see the huge deal about it at least to the point that Freya was practically in hysterics..
Then again Kettil's family were uptight about different things but hair wasn't one of them, clearly, because they let Kettil form his hair into dreadlocks.
