Krait walked into the mall, and although he'd been here before as a child, everything looked different.
No longer did the rising glass doors impress him, no longer did the endless shops look so huge or so many. The perspectives of a child had fallen away with his shed skin, and Krait found himself feeling disenchanted, alone and at a loss. It was almost as if when he had barely begun to get a baring on his life everything changed. His feet seemed to sweep out from under him. And how, nearly 5'9" he felt as if he had somehow outgrown more than just his old clothes. Krait sighed aloud. It was little more than a hiss, but he still stuck out his tongue to taste of the world. The same smells. But this time he could pick them out, he could recognise them. Krait paused in front of the lingerie shop and felt his cheeks colour as he suddenly understood for what sort of purpose these garments were intended.
Krait shoved his pale and yet delicate hands into the deep pockets of his baggy velvet and corderoy pants and looked about at things with a half-lowered head. He needed to find a box. and not just any old cardboard box. Krait wanted a beautiful laquered, guilded box...lined with something soft...like velvet or satin. Where on earth would he find such a thing?

Keshi wanders around for a bit. She decides to head to the area where she found her girls clothing last time she was here. As she wanders around she notices a boy in front of a store. The store has clothing in the window but she dosen't quite get it. "Who ever wears those clothes has got to be shaped weird and they hardly cover anything. Weird." She quietly mumbles. After looking at the boy for a bit she soon realises that it's has to be Krait. "He's so much taller and I think he has more stripes. But it has to be him." She thinks to herself. Keshi grins with delight and runs off befor he notices her. She heads to a craft store. She picks up a couple of things and gets to work. After a few minutes of drawing and writing she plucks a peddle from the flower on her head. With a wince she places it inside the card she has just made and runs back to Krait.

Krait had moved off down the main corridor looking for a place to buy the box he sought. He paused in front of the furniture store peering in the display case and trying to decide if they might offer what he looked for. As he stood deep in thought he heard a sweet little voice call his name.
Startled out of his pondering, Krait wide-eyed and startled turned to face Keshi. For a long moment Krait didn't realize what was going on. And then he read the words on the card and all thought and words failed him.
Someone cares about me....?
Krait's large dark eyes grew larger and his white-pale cheeks began to flush a rosy pink. What to say?
With uncertain hands he reached out and took the card from her hands. He stood staring at it. And then he mouthed a thank you. Though, with eyes lowered and voice so soft, it was a wonder if anyone heard it.

More stripes... Were they that noticeable? Krait fingered at his throat self-consciously and didn't say anything for a long while. Keshi offered to help him find what he was looking for. Krait flicked his tongue out quickly....that taste of poppyseed....
As he slowly regained his composure he replied quietly, still unsure of ths new and deeper voice. "I'm looking for a box. A chest of sorts, laquered and with a clasp to close it." Krait's eyes wandered away down the mall as he spoke, and to anyone watching the exchange it would appear Krait was unaware of anyone else's presence as he glanced unsurely about himself.

Krait didn't know much about Kimono boxes, but he'd seen the lovely Kimono that Keshi wore, and he assumed that such a fine garment of silk must have a fine box to keep it safe when it wasn't being worn. "I'm not sure how big Kimono boxes come, but they might work. I need it to be at least a foot tall." Krait motioned with his hands to illustrate the size he wanted. His tail swirled and curled in the air behind him, as if trying to help.

Krait started when Keshi took his hand. In fact, he nearly pulled away in shock before he settled his senses and forced himself to relax. The girl wasn't going to hurt him, she was going to help him.
Krait followed along, a little awkwardly. It must've seemed a strange image, this willowy snake-boy bent over the small poppy-crested girl in the lead connected only by one limp hand.

Krait followed after Keshi and glanced at the Kimono on display. He matched a green one up with her poppy-hair and smiled internally as he thought they'd compliment each other well. As she led him through the store he noticed a tall set of shelves against the back wall holding many different sizes and shapes of beautifully lacquered wooden bokes for kimono, and traditional Japanese accessories like geta or kasa or tabi. Yes, Krait thought to himself, one of these would be perfect for Laticaudae...
He just had to find the riiiight one.
