He had the weirdest friends. Maybe it was because he really did not know how the whole friendship thing worked when he had become friends with her. Either way she was stressing him out. "No! Do not get hurt." so distressed.
But it was hard to think straight when she put him into...some type of friendship headlock.
Why was life so cruel?
Princess Eva might have swiped the pin while they were distracted. OuO
Quietly Yin spoke from the headlock. "Thank you. For...you know...coming to check on me."

"Hey that's right!" Danny said, cheerful tone switching to something playfully angry. "I came here every day and you never answered! You have some 'splaining to do mister!"
Continued noogie-ing. At least Danny was being what she thought was gentle. "In fact I think you owe me ... You should ... buy me candy!"

Okay, his head was really starting to hurt. He began trying to push away from her, hands reaching up though he lacked his usual energy. "I am sorry for that Miss Danny...I just...needed some time is all."
Candy? Where did one even get candy? And...well he had just spent almost all of his money on food for the vaisel kittens not that long ago, and while he had a bit more it was not much. Was candy expensive? "Maybe a different day Miss Danny? I will certainly get you candy, I am just too tired to today." He really was feeling a bit rundown, it was hard getting back into the swing of things. "Um...what kind of candy do you like?"

Danny relented as Yin pushed away from her, actually somewhat surprised by the action. Yin was usually, and sometimes literally, a limp figure in her arms.
"Aww, no worries buddy," she said, reaching out to put a hand on his shoulder. "You should sleep!" She patted the pillow and stood up, leaving him room to lay down.
She looked back at him and said, "D'you want me to tell you a bedtime story!" She liked bedtime stories. She was horrible at telling them, but Yin didn't know that!

Yin had not exactly planned on going to bed right that very minute, but that was what Miss Danny thought, and really, it did not sound entirely bad. Princess Eva also seemed to think it was a good idea, as she let up preening for a minute in order to paw at him, ready to curl up on him as soon as he did lay down. He moved over on the bed, bringing his legs up, but he did not lay down straight away.
A bedtime story? He knew what they were, but had never really had one. Alexander had read before, but not just...told him a story before bed. "That would be nice," and really, in his mind, it would be. To just hear someone talk but not be required to answer or anything, just listen.
If only he knew. If only he knew.

Danny pulled the covers up around Yin and then sat down on the ground, back against the frame, her neck resting gently on the mattress. She pulled her legs up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them as she recited a story she'd been told countless times by Rosalie.
"Once upon a time," she began. All stories started like that- it was a very important time. "There were three little human ghouls having a sleepover. It was super dark and stuff. They had a candle, because candles are great." You could really see where her artistic direction was going. "So they were telling each other stories about Bloody Mary, when one ghoul said 'You have to look in a mirror, and then she'll show up and show your future husband!'"
Danny sighed. She never really understood why that was a big deal, but it was how the story went. You couldn't just change the story. Anyways. "So all the ghouls were like 'OH MY JACK YES YES YES' and ran off to the mirror. They said her name 3 times and she appeared!"
Honestly she wasn't even sure if Yin was listening anymore, but she made wiggly spooky fingers anyways. "But Bloody Mary was really tired so she stepped through the mirror and all the ghouls screamed. But that made a lot of FEAR so Mary got even stronger! So she showed the ghoul's that all three would die before they even got married!"
Danny rolled her eyes. She still didn't get why it was a big deal. "So all the ghouls were sad and scared, and Mary left and went and scared even more people, and became the most famous Mary in all of Halloween."
She smiled contentedly and added, "And they all lived scarily ever after."

Miss Danny was moving the blankets, which had him on edge but then she was sitting down and telling him a story, and he could not interrupt a story. Wait, not just any story. A history lesson. This had happened before, he needed to pay attention. There might be a test on it sometime, and if...when Alexander came back maybe he could surprise him with what he knew.
As Miss Danny mentioned mirrors Yin's eyes flicked around his room, on all of the various shards of mirrors that adorned the walls, trying to mimic a training area where one could see their own form as they practiced. Now, why ghouls would want to see their husbands when they could just choose them was confusing, but he did not interrupt. Oh? Humans knew about Jack as well? That was a useful tidbit.
Bloody Mary was an excellent scarer, he never would have thought of that! And she was not killing them, just showed them that they would, no harm done. Bloody Mary was truly magnificent!
This was all fact.
"That is all?" Yin said a bit sadly as she finished. "Thank you for telling me a bedtime story Miss Danny."

Danny's smile turned into a frown. "Oh noooo. Bedtime stories are supposed to put people to sleep!" That's what they were! That's how they worked!
She huffed and crossed her arms. "I'll just have to tell you another one ... Ummmm ..."

Supposed to put him to sleep? But it was a history lesson! She did seem upset though, maybe he should just pretend to go to sleep with the next one. But as he closed his eyes and listened to her talk (another history lesson it seemed) he found himself starting to drift off... No he had to hear the story... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
