"Ah! Thank you!" Merope replied to Tybalt, looking up from the ship he was working on long enough to give a small wave to the ghost dog. The undead boil watched him play for a moment before scrambling for another clipboard. With each ship that was sunk the score was noted.
While he was scribbling scores, Lizzy's exclamation made him jump. He scrambled to catch the pen he was writing with, breathing an unnecessary sigh of relief upon catching it. "Ahh, yes," he lied, giving the demoness a thumbs-up. "Nice shot! It's the red ones that deserve the most sinking since they're red. And... BLURP?" He stared at her blankly before recognition clicked in. "Oh! Well, most of the stuff if really just focused on water games and stuff. Not all of it would be underwater, and stuff that is... Well." He scratched a fin, considering. "One of the requirements of the club'll be that you bring or get a snorkle and a pair of goggles. That way you can be underwater, just... maybe not as deep as everyone else?"
He offered her an embarrassed grin and a shrug. "That's... honestly something I haven't thought of. Like a lot of things." Merope shuffled in his seat, embarrassed before turning around. "Oh hey! Looks like I need to fix some ships. And.. ah, oh hey! Look again! Looks like you got top score with that lucky red ship. Nice going!"
After a hurried thumbs-up, Merope busied himself setting up his ships. Once he recovered, Merope consulted the current high scores and issued prizes before returning to building another tiny armada of delightfully smashable ships.
First, it was quite hard for Eisheth to understang the purpose and the rules of that particular booth. First, it was probably the first time she actually was seeing a ship. Generally, Eisheth wasn't that familiar with water, and marine theme, except for the beaches: sands, that she knew quite well for sure. But water... water looked difficult and complicated.
However, the booth owner appeared to be incredibly appealing. he was nice, but not too much; a bit reserved, but not too much; friendly, but not too much: he was just well balanced. If she didn't know Merope's a student, Eisheth would even consider him to be a younger horseman, his manners were a bit similar to those of her cousin, Kiwi. Litstening carefully to his explanation, the alchemist tossed her first orb, and heard the sounds of wrecking. Minus one blue ship here.
"Thank you", she nodded to Merope politely. "You're a good teacher. Is this game actually popular?"
Truly, Aedan was enjoying Fright Night to the fullest. Game after game (and in most cases, loss after loss), it was nice to be back on campus--and in time for one of his favorite school festivals, to boot. Wandering up to the boat sinkers booth, he picked up a wooden ball, tossing it slightly into the air, figuring that surely this couldn't be -too- hard.
And he managed to hit a green ship! The lowest point value, but he supposed he'd consider himself lucky to have avoided hitting the booth behind this one--apparently that was something to be strongly discouraged...

Her next throw wasn't that successful, unfortunately. Aiming for the red ship, Eisheth was at the same moment afraid to overdo it, so in the end her orb barely managed to destroy the nearest green ship.

The elusive red ship won't let her go! Next try, and again she missed only hitting the green ship: reds were quite well hidden by a small legion of low pointers. Eisheth wasn't sure if Merope was really lucky today, or the boil was just shy, but she was soooo faaaaaaar from his perfect technique...

That wasn't good at all, so the alchemist decided to change her tactics. Eisheth simply closed her eyes, and tossed the orb into the wild not trying to hit any ship in particular: that should be pure luck... or the lack of it. And in her case, it was probably the latter: she opened her eyes only to find one more green ship being sunk. At least, she managed to hit something, and not to break anything.

That was the last try, and she had no reasons to be in a rush. The alchemist calmed herself, balanced the orb on her palm, and with one swift throw managed to hit an expensive yellow ship. Probably, this game is more of waiting and getting prepared than blindly throwing stuff; at least, the alchemist felt delighted she managed to save the situation a bit.
Smiling to Merope with her eyes, she concluded: "That's a really nice game! it teaches you many things at once".

Lifting another wooden ball, Aedan threw it, taking a little more care with his aim. Finally, something other than a green! A blue wasn't much better, but at least he was improving?

Making a face, Aedan looked around surreptitiously to see if anyone had noticed. What were the odds, throwing and hitting one of teh ships he'd already demolished previously?!

Whew! At least he'd managed to hit something with that last one! However, he was pretty sure he'd be bringing up the low end of the bell curve, score-wise! At least the funds were going to a good cause, he told himself bracingly.
