Mitsu jumped slightly, at least as much as her tired and sore body could jump, at the sound of Candace over the microphone. She hadn't realized she was being watched, zoning out and feeling very alone. Mitsu had grown used to ignoring the tech who sat and played games, never thinking to look up and see who might have joined him in the room. It wasn't often someone came and when they did...it was usually her.

As she looked toward the window Mitsu gripped the necklace tightly in her fist trying to shield it from view. "What do you want?" Her tone wasn't as harsh as it had been the last couple of days but it still had an edge to it that said she was angry. She was hard pressed to admit that she was starting to not mind the company. The lycan was starting to pick up the pattern of Candace's visits and waited for her arrival, an anxiety hitting her wondering if she would come or simply leave her. When she realized she was starting to miss social interaction and was actually relying on Candace for it she snapped, lashing out at the Hunter but with a tad less vigor. Was this really what was going to become of her? She was actually going to start missing this terrible lady who had brought her here hoping for her to come and share a few words with her just to break up the silence or the occasional bleeps from the game the tech was playing.

Mitsu felt pathetic.

Candace chuckled softly at the hostility she still received even now. Mitsu was a strong one, stronger than she expected. It was impressive how long Mitsu was holding out. While at first the girl had been insufferably frustrating Candace was now finding herself having fun. She liked Mitsu. "Just making conversation, darlin'. I also like jewelry. A gift from Shun?" Talking about the boyfriend would cheer her up, right? Though now that candace thought about it the necklace could not have been comfortable with that collar.

"You're looking better, too." physically, at least. Not much but...enough for Candace to notice. "Is there anything specific you want for dinner, by the way? I'll get it for you later." Just nice, pleasant conversation.

The mention of Shun had her eyes glancing to the floor, her fist clenching to a white knuckled grip. There was still no strength in her hold, she was weak though the bruises were finally fading. The thought of Shun had her heart aching though, longing to see him, glimpse him. Why did being in this place feel like it had been more than just days? It felt like it had been weeks since she had seen him last.

She did not answer Candace's question about the necklace, though the answer was probably obvious. Instead she released it in favor of fidgeting with the collar around her neck again, fingers brushing over the lock.

As far as food was concerned Mitsu tried not to look desperate. She hardly ate anything they brought her as is, merely picking at her food just enough to gain some energy. Something sweet sounded amazing though, eye scream or vanilla eclairs or...."I...I want green tea." It was the first time she had actually asked for something but it was a drink Shun often shared with her. Maybe, if only briefly, she could pretend he was here with her.

Hm. No answer. Damn. Candace leaned forward in her chair, arms folded on the edge of the console. Mitsu was definitely a tougher cookie to break than the average stupid teenager, huh? It was both exciting and terribly frustrating at the same time. "Green tea? Sure. Nothing to go with it?" One might think she was whipped by her own captive, devoted to her every need; it would be true if not for the fact that everything Candace did, ever generous act and kind offer, was to fulfill her own selfish agenda. She needed Mitsu to like her. Eyes were locked on the way Mitsu fidgeted with her collar, an unreadable expression on her face.

"You look antsy. I can take you outside to see the beach if you want. It's really nice this time of year, I'll even grab a pair of sunglasses for you if it's too bright on your eyes." Wait, how would Mitsu wear them? Her ears were..on top of her head...

...They'd cross that bridge when they made it to that point.

Mitsu shook her head when Candace asked if she wanted something else. She really did but she didn't want to ask for it. The green tea had been a whim she just couldn't ignore. It was the thought of him that had her asking for it.

She looked away when Candace commented on how antsy she looked, why wouldn't she be? Mitsu had been trapped in this room since she had gotten here and it felt smaller and smaller everyday. Constricting to the point she felt like breathing was difficult. Something Candace said grabbed her attention though.

"The...beach?" She would actually take her outside? It was an opportunity to good to pass up. Despite the blinding light and the possibility of burning it also meant a chance to run. The lycan tried not to look too eager, staring toward the door that stood between her and the outside world. Well at least her and the building beyond. She hadn't been very cunning with the other Hunter but perhaps she could change her angle. "You would take me outside?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 29, 2012 11:28 am

Ah! That seemed to do the trick! Honestly she was hoping Mitsu would be a little more eager, but oh well. Next time, perhaps. Candace was just glad she looked interested in going to the beach, but she wasn't so stupid to assume it was simply because she wanted air. Mitsu still had a lot of spirit despite how tired she was, there was absolutely no question she would attempt to run away. But she was hardly in any condition to be considered a threat or a worry. Candace would play her game with an invisible leash, one she would tug on when Mitsu pulled too tightly.

"Yes, the beach. It's lovely this time of year even with the fog, and it'd be nice to get some fresh air, hm? I don't know about you but if I was kept in a cell I'd start to go crazy being cooped up." Then again that was kind of what happened when everyone was stuck in the underground barracks. Candace didn't mention that to Mitsu, however. She didn't need to know. She looked Mitsu up and down a moment and then gave a soft sigh. The dress she had given her had been tossed aside on the first day and she obviously had yet to even touch it since then. Great. She was still wearing those rags that had once been a dress. "I'd be happy to take you outside. But I'd suggest you change that dress first before I take you out. The one you're wearing is a sad excuse for rags now..." Candace spoke with a tone that clearly said no seriously I strongly recommend it.

Because she did.

Seriously, Mitsu.

You don't want to go out there into the Life labs like that...not with the techs around..seriously Mitsu trust her on this.

"I..It's not so bad." Mitsu was trying to put on a brave face, trying to show that they couldn't break her so easily but inside she was screaming. She hated it here, it was so quiet and lonely and she couldn't say she wasn't disappointed every time the door opened. There was always that hope that Shun or a friend would be there, having come to take her home and every time it was someone else...a Hunter and usually her. They would come and get her wouldn't they? Shun wouldn't leave her here. He....he would come...wouldn't he?

"I'll keep what I have.." Mitsu said softly soothing out the tattered remains of her dress and moving bits back into place to cover any undergarments. "I don't need your clothes." The thought of putting on anything that had been brought by Candace made her skin crawl. Sure it was....pretty but it wasn't hers.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 29, 2012 11:35 pm

"Uh huh, sure. I totally believe you." Candace said flatly, rolling her eyes. Stubborn girl!

As Mitsu made it clear she had no intention of changing Candace tried not to sigh or laugh. Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. "Mitsu, I know these people better than you do. I strongly suggest you change. Seriously..." But Mitsu seemed determined.

Fine. She'd let the girl learn for herself.

"I'll come around to escort you out, then." Candace pushed away from the console then and left the room, doing just as she'd promised. The door to Mitsu's cell unlocked and opened, Candace standing in the doorway with a soft sigh. "You're going to regret not changing." This was her last chance...

"I'll be fine," Mitsu said crossing her arms almost defiantly. Candace was being persistent but Mitsu wasn't about to give in. Claiming the dress was an unnecessary gift.

She watched Candace leave the little control room and waited for the click that let her know the door was unlocked. This was probably the only time Mitsu didn't lunge at Candace the first opportunity she got. Instead she slowly rose from her bed, took a few unsteady steps, and then waited a couple of feet from the door for Candace to lead them to this beach.

"I doubt I will," Mitsu huffed, hands straightening what could only be considered rags at this point. She had liked this dress too.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:52 am

It was rather surprising that Mitsu didn't lunge at her. Candace had been prepared for it! But nothing happened and she actually sighed with a bit of relief, offering a hand out to gesture for Mitsu to follow her. She waited for the girl to do so, making a point to not touch her as she guided Mitsu down the hall. There was no one around them at first, the halls silent...and then the further down the hall they got the more lively it sounded.

A tech here and there, busily reading something or chatting with another hunter. They all wore white coats with gold branches decorating the back much like Candace's own was decorated with swirling gold mist. There were talks of bets, discussions over runes, the occasional name thrown here and there...

Someone snickered. Candace rolled her eyes. Here it comes.

There was an amused whisper to one side as they passed a pair of techs. 'Twenty bucks it falls off before they even make it out the door.' 'No way! I've got twenty on it falls once they get to where they're going!' Candace shook her head. A hunter glanced up from what she was doing as they passed, looked Mitsu up and down, and gave her a pitied look when she realized the girl's plight. She looked away in a hurry.

Suddenly Mitsu would find Candace's coat draped over her shoulders. "Told you." She said softly, watching the girl intently to get her reaction.

Walking out the door Mitsu tried to stay out of Candace's reach as much as possible while still showing a sense of obedience by following her down the hall. The lycan knew there was no way she could navigate the halls on her own, her sense of direction was terrible and she had been out when she had been brought down here to the lab. Everything was unfamiliar but she took in as much as she could just encase this attempt didn't work out. If anything she would know a way outside and to freedom.

She was rather focused on her task of memorizing that the she didn't note the chattering until it had gotten rather heated and excited. Her ears swiveled in the direction of the noise picking up bits of conversation here and there. They...they were talking about her clothes...taking bets. Bets on if it would fall off!

Suddenly Mitsu's arms came up over her chest to insure the bit of material there wouldn't fall and expose her. There wasn't much to be done about the bottom part of the dress that just dangled about her hips. She felt awkward now, a bright blush covering her cheeks, the look of pity she got didn't help.

When Candace put her coat over her shoulder's Mitsu knocked the garment back off and onto the floor. Of all things she wouldn't be caught dead wearing that. "I'll change." She said softly under her breath, obviously mad that she had given in. It probably wouldn't have been a concern if the Hunters with the trees on their coats weren't watching her and her attire like hawks. Gross.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 30, 2012 12:27 pm

Candace was unfazed by her coat being shrugged off onto the floor, simply bending down to pick it up and put it back on. As Mitsu finally agreed to change she chuckled and nodded, guiding her back down the hall the way they had come. There were a couple techs who look disappointed to see them turn around. So much for their small betting pool. Candace waved them off, putting an arm around Mitsu's shoulders to keep her close. Mine.

When they reached the cell Candace let Mitsu go in by herself, letting Mitsu have a bit of privacy. She simply instructed her to knock on the door when she was ready, which surprised Candace when she actually did it. And not only that she was wearing the dress. Candace smiled. "You look lovely. Come on~." She guided Mitsu out and down the hall again, their walk much more peaceful with Mitsu actually dressed now.

It was foggy outside when they finally exited the Life labs, and Candace was quick to direct Mitsu where to go and out the front gates to the beach. The air was warm and smelled of salt water, the sand loose beneath their feet. Candace was there to help Mitsu with her balance should she really need it, but otherwise she kept contact to a minimum. Despite the warmth and tropical feel of the beach the sky was still overcast, the fog keeping it from being exactly an island paradise.

Candace was prepared for what she knew was coming.

Mitsu wasn't happy about the dress, far from it but it at least covered her form. She left her sandals in the room, bare feet padding down the maze of hallways toward the front gates. Her immediate reaction was to shield her eyes though it didn't seem as blaring and bright as the white walls of the labs.

She paused for a moment, taking a deep breath of the warm salty air, her toes wiggling in the sand beneath her feet. Mitsu had no idea Candace was prepare for her escape and frankly that probably wouldn't have changed her mind on trying. All at once she shoved at the Hunter to push her back before she took off in a run down the beach. She was by no means fast, not with being injured and not used to running on sand. The shifting ground kept her off balance, tripping up and nearly falling but she wasn't about to stop. She wanted to go home.

"SHUN! ANYONE!" She screamed for anyone hoping someone might be nearby. Maybe they just hadn't found a way inside? They could be waiting for her.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 30, 2012 5:02 pm

As she was shoved she allowed herself to stumble back, watching Mitsu with a passive look on her face as the girl ran off. She just stood there, her hands in her pocket. Mitsu could barely run in the state she was in, Candace really wasn't at all worried. She even took out her phone to check her texts, sent a couple tweets, checked the time, finally looking up just as Mitsu screamed for help.

Candace sighed and put the phone away, stalking after Mitsu with her hands tucked into her pockets. The walk was a hurried pace but it certainly wasn't the run that Mitsu was attempting. She was too tired, too weak. It was barely a run at all, huh?

"Were you expecting to round up some sea turtles and ride them to freedom, perhaps? You don't have enough back hair for that, Mitsu." She didn't care that Mitsu wouldn't understand the reference, she was going to make it anyway. Candace reached out, her finger hooking under and around the chain of Mitsu's necklace while the girl ran. The chain snapped and the necklace fell into the sand. Candace was quick to snatch it up and pocket it, a small frown on her lips. "I don't like playing the bad guy...I'll give this back to you when you can learn to behave, girl." Girl. She would get her name back when she was cooperative.

"I brought you out here to get fresh air. I brought you out here so you wouldn't just be cooped up here. I was being nice. I don't want to be mean, girl. When will you learn? When will you listen? I've been nice this whole time, girl. I've been generous, I've done almost anything you ask. I'm busting my a** to keep you mine and not someone's pet project. If you would just calm down, relax and...and listen to me you would find that I'm not being unreasonable. It's you, okay? You need to realize you're being unreasonable." Candace had been doing so well to keep calm. She really had. She was doing so well ********>!

"That doesn't even make se-" Mitsu's words were cut off as the necklace came up around her throat, tightened and snapped. It was probably the only thing she had on her that she would turn back for, her hand reaching for the orchid pendant in the sand but was too late as Candace picked it up. Instead Mitsu fell, landing hard against the shifting ground, sand covering her new pretty dress.

Mitsu could care less if Candace was mad at this point, she lifted her head teeth bared in a snarl as she lashed out at the hunter's legs with a weak swipe. "Give it back! GIVE IT BACK!" It was a demand that fell on deaf ears as Candace snapped back at her.

"Nice?!" Mitsu tried to push her way up, her arms wavering with the effort. "You stole me from where I belonged! You threw me in a little box with no one but you and the the...whatever he is on the other side of the window! You want to play nice and take me for walks and for what?! I have no friends here no family I HAVE NOTHING BUT THAT NECKLACE AND YOU WILL GIVE IT TO ME!" She reached out for Candace again to grab her, clawed fingers grasping for anything they could hold onto.
