Wandering back after a few moments, Zuri wore a slightly sour face this time, full lower lip pouted out soft and blue. "Just another dead end," she sighed. "There are a couple more branches we can explore. I really don't want to go back through that storm, for your sake..." She just looked worried about Delia.

"You don't have to look so down. Not the first time I've been drenched before and I doubt it'll be the last." She laughed lightly, though she really wished she could keep it from happening ever again. She hated making the girl worry as much as she hated being like she was then, though she really did appreciate the concern. "I'll be fine. Really. It's just going to take some time to dry is all unfortunately. So I'm afraid I'll be slugging along for a bit until then. I hope you don't mind."

Nodding, Zuri looked around some more. "All right... just let me know if you need to stop or anything, though!"

"Honestly? I'm ready to go if you are." It was true, Delia was absolutely ready to leave this maze behind, but her body language at the moment spoke otherwise as she slowly rose to floating height. It looked like the water was still weighing her down quite a bit though. Hopefully moving would accelerate the drying process. "Any luck finding a new path yet? Or do we need to keep looking?"

"I guess we need to keep looking --" Just as that was said, though, the bushes parted ahead in what had seemed to be a dead end. Zurine's eyes widened. "That wasn't there a minute ago..."
Ahead, through the gap, she could hear the sounds of the outside penetrating in, and the heat of the day flooded in with the hazy drone of evening bugs. Zurine almost didn't dare to hope. "Is that an exit...? Did we make it?"

Cordelia's eyes widened in surprise as the bushes in front of them suddenly dispersed and the sounds of the party-goers came flooding back to them. As the warmth of the day's true temperature began to sink into the snake's skin, Delia could feel her rune thrum in response, her energy quickly returning. Enough so that the basilisk felt she could try her previous drying method once more.
With a flourishing flip of her long black hair, Cordelia managed to finally succeed at using her smoke ability to poof long enough that the water she'd been soaked with merely slipped through her molecules and hit the ground below with a small splash along with her dress, a small price to pay for sweet relief.
Feeling ten times better, the smokey girl grabbed her dress off the ground before turning to smile at her new friend. "Seems like it. Glad that nightmare's over. Though I hope Ebby won't be too mad about my dress."

Wide-eyed, Zurine squeaked when Cordelia went misty -- but she couldn't help laughing a little as she reformed. There was nothing wrong with nakedness in the owl-girl's eyes. "I'm absolutely glad about that... but, but we'll explain to her what happened with your dress and I'm sure it'll be okay... right? We should hurry out before the maze changes its mind, though..." She felt good that they were about to leave, but she was back to the problem of the day. It was just too hot...
Maybe she could find that ice again...
