The magic she was using took away my pain, and probably hers to. I relaxed and buried my head into her shoulder. "Ah... that feels so much better. Thank you very much."

As happy as I was, I knew those hooded figures would find us soon. We had to get moving within a couple hours.

I sighed. "y-your welcome." I said softly as I relaxed against him. I brought my arms to my chest as I tried to get my breathing under control.

I noticed her breathing changed to a slightly quicker rate. I silently focused my aura into my mind, using my empathy on her. Her magic usually makes it hard to use my Empathy on her, so as usual, I couldn't tell.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked, pulled my head back and looking her straight in the eyes. She had beautiful eyes. She was beautiful. It's sad she can't see.

The sound I was dreading over. The sound of a dagger whistling through the air. I quickly swung my arm around, a dagger already forming in my hands.

I swipe to the side, knocking the incoming dagger to the left. Ok, I think, daggers. They must be top-notch assassins, but they would have used any powers if they had them.

"Hey, we have to go. They found us." I told her. She was still breathing rapidly and I wasted no time to pick her up bridal style, but not before I knocked another dagger out of the air.

I sprinted through the woods, focusing my aura in my legs to go faster.

I sighed as I kept her in my arms. "I know we can fight. That's not the problem." I said, continueing to so sprint through the woods.

"The problem is we can't keep using our aura. It only attracts them. We might as well go to them if we plan on using our auras and fighting every time." I pulled her closer as another dagger hit the tree next to me.

"But I suppose I can do something." I said, smiling. I set her down behind a tree and turn towards the assailants. "They tried to kidnap you. That was their first mistake. And their last." I said, my eyes turning solid green.

I used my fingers to draw a line in front of my feet, I gripped that dirt line and pulled upwards, the dirt in between my fingers still there. As I pulled upwards, my aura flared and a blast erupted under the line and traveled underground, sending up trees and roots, until finally sprouting upwards.

I smiled as I saw the assailants throw their daggers at me auricly enhanced roots. But it was no use, they were tangled and squeezed to nothing within seconds.

I slumped slightly, as that was a pretty strong spell, but I was still standing. "Now, may I pick you up again so we can get moving?" I ask her.

"So you avoided my spell. Very skilled." I said, a smiling forming across my lips as I turn to look at him. "There's just one problem."

I raised my fist to his face. "You're still caught, however." My eyes quickly changed to a solid green. My vines were already wrapped around both his ankles.

I almost growled the next thing I said. "And I swear if you don't let her go right now I will give you a fate worse than death."

Damnit, damnit, DAMNIT! He got away, that b*****d! And he hurt Scarlet. Oh, he is going to pay. I promise him that. How he got away, probably a spiritual spell, making his body aetheral.(Spirit form), but I'm not sure.

I slumped forward because of the massive energy I had to use, but I still managed to jump forward and catch Scarlet, being pushed to my knees. The son of a b***h had sliced her leg, and it was bleeding badly.

I covered the wound with my palm and my eyes turned solid green. The blood was forced back into her leg, and the wound scabbed over, but that's all I could do without using the rest of my aura. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have put you down, I should have kept going." I huged her tighter as I looked in the direction the last assailant went.

I really hope she's not mad at me, but I was too weak to use my empathy, not thatm I'd be able to use it on her anyway.

Ugh, she was seriously pissed at me. This isn't good. "You told me we needed to stay and fight! And that's exactly what I did!" I said, standing up. Seeing her wounded, and knowing it was my fault, really kills me inside.

I promised her a long time ago I would protect her with my life, and that's exactly what I've done. Even if she gets hurt here and there, I've always protected her. And her being upset with me won't change that.

"Look, I'm sorry..." I said, dropping to my knees in exhaustion and looking sadly at the ground.
