Make new friends? Meiji tilted her head at that. Sure the guy seemed friendly enough and had come over to talk to her, but she'd assumed he was trying to gather information. Either that or he was bored. The alliances between shinobi villages were constantly changing, so most ninja preferred not to befriend people from other villages since it was more than possible they'd end up on opposite sides of a war and face each other on the battlefield.
"Quiet places...are hard to find sometimes," Meiji acknowledged with a tiny smile. She thought about her parents, who were former Kiri nin, and the stories they used to tell about Kirigakure. It certainly sounded like an ideal place for those who enjoyed silence. At Tris's next question she gnawed on her lip and thought about it briefly. "Becoming a Chuunin...would be nice...and I do want to test my abilities...but I really just came because it sounded...interesting," she said slowly. She really didn't care about whether she was promoted to Chuunin or not - it'd be great if she was, but it wasn't like the world was going to end if she wasn't. She wished to test her abilities, certainly, but in the end she really wasn't too sure about why she was there. It was interesting, and she wanted to spend some time with her new friends, and it was also a chance to gain experiences she wouldn't get by doing missions back in Konoha.
At this time Savos finally caught up to them - she looked over at him and grinned, giving him a two-fingered wave.

 [Sergent ToughNutz][Drill Sergent][NPC] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sergent ToughNutz walked out onto the plaza where all of the Genin had sort of wandered off onto after leaving the boat. He took a small puff of his cigar and looked out over them to take a head count on how many were here. His tough, grizzled war veteran face the picture of sternness. He smiled broadly with grim satisfaction before calling out, speaking into a radio hand set that would carry his voice over the loud speakers all over the island. " Listen up, maggots! I am Drill Sergent ToughNutz and I am going to be playing baby sitter to all of you little pukes while you are here on the island. If any of you of want to go back home to your mommies leave now because from this point on your asses are MINE!!!" He looked over everyone assembled one more time to make sure everyone was listening. Before continuing with his little speech. " The rest of you are to move to the central plaza if you aren't here already for further instruction."

"The Infinite Blue is here..." Kazuma overheard further directions from over the loud speakers, and as soon as he heard the person's name he cracked up going straight from annoyed to utter amusement. "Tough nuts..." He said chuckling to himself and making his way to the central plaza where he would await further instruction on what they were to do here. "... So long as you don't refer to me as the Lone Squirt."

Yuki looked at the man who was being abit... Annoying. She looked at Zangetsu and wondered if this time he would lead her. She wanted to go with him. She wrapped her arm around his, she was glad she had him as a friend. "Lets go." She smiled softly, still kinda annoyed.

Making his way to the area they were being moved to, Ash seemed to be drawn to following after a set he'd seen around his own village somewhere before. They weren't from his class when he graduated, but still, even a slightly familiar face was better than none at all. The voice of the annoying man who called himself ToughNutz made him laugh. If he wished to have Ash's a** he'd have to do a bit more romantic talk than just demanding it. Besides, if it was up to Ash, any man he ever got with would be doing the bending over. Running a bored hand through his hair to remove it from his eyes, Ashllyn looked at the two people on the stage and was curious about what the Genin would be asked to do first.

This was partially due to the fact that as a little girl she'd once made the mistake of standing right next to one during a festival while holding a highly breakable ceramic bowl. Then someone had screamed into the microphone which was then projected over the loudspeakers and....well, everything just spiraled downhill from there. As it was, the completely random and overall loud voice ringing out all over the island made her wince and rub at her ears in remembrance of that event all those years ago.
....And what sort of parents named their kid something like 'ToughNutz'? Unless the man picked the name himself...but who would name themself something like that?
"This should be interesting, ne?" she whispered to Savos (Kazuma had already gone on ahead). She turned and began to walk towards the central plaza. As she did she slipped a hand into her coat and pulled out her tessen, slipping it into her sleeve where it fit into several straps sewn on specially for that purpose. The cold iron rested comfortably against the inside of her arm where she could reach it at a moment's notice. She would prefer to not have to use it at all, but a little bit of caution never hurt anyone. She thought of the seal painted on the inside of her other arm and frowned, not wanting to use her chakra so soon. But she'd end up having to use it sooner or later...with a shrug she fed a bit of chakra - only about a C-rank's worth - into the Genkaku Fūin, although she didn't activate it just yet.

Jun Hyuuga
Head of Hyuuga Clan ~ Genin ~ 280 Chakra  Deciding it would be best to get back to her training, Jun decided that using the tree she had been resting against would be a good training dummy. Pulling out her combat knife, Jun moved back a decent distance so that she could practice the Knife Punt technique.

Dropping her knife, Jun's timing was right on as she kicked the hilt of the blade. However, it was not quite an accurate kick as it stayed low and the blunt side merely hit the trunk of the tree. Not discouraged, she retrieved her knife and tried again.

It seemed an odd technique to do, having a knife to merely kick the weapon away, possibly out of reach. Although with this technique, Jun was certain that a person would have more than one knife on their person at a time for techniques like this.

Giving it another try, Jun managed to make the knife move a little higher up the tree but the blunt side still hit it. She was not sure if the guy was still behind it, but he would be fine so long as he stayed behind it and did not move while she was training.

Having retrieved her knife once more, Jun let it drop and kicked the hilt once more. This time, it went high, up to the same height where her head would be. This time it also embedded itself inside of the tree, going in a couple of inches and no doubt a lethal blow if it were a life opponent.

Moving back to the tree, Jun grasped the handle of her knife and pulled it out. It would have been nice to have some privacy so that others could not watch, but actually getting the techniques down as more important. She'd just have to be clever when implementing such techniques to take her opponents by surprise.

Taking the scroll she had swiped from the dojo, Jun opened it and looked over the next technique. This one would be a little more complex since she would have to use chakra. Although this time around, Jun would be using her own fingertips instead of her knife.

It would be more something best used upon a live target to make sure it would really work. However, since it would most likely be frowned upon to harm another shinobi just as the chuunin exams would be taking place, Jun would have to settle for feeling it out to be sure she was doing it right.

Focusing her chakra, Jun began to build chakra up in her hand so that she could focus them in her middle and forefinger. Of course, she could have the chakra spread through to her other two fingers. Just the two would work for now for practice.
[Post 4/6]
Flexing her fingers, she could feel the chakra was stored within them and ready to cripple any live opponent. If she were back in Konoha and training just for fun, it may have been tempting to jab her own leg. Of course, crippling herself now would just be stupid.
[Post 5/6]
Maybe she could have used it on the guy behind the tree, but then again, that would lead back to the same problem as before. No, she'd just have to leave everyone alone and just let the chakra in this attack dissipate before anything happened.

Having no real live target to try this one, Jun let the chakra settle back within her own body to save it for later. The chakra had been focused in the right area and it would no doubt work on a live person. After the chakra was gone, she gave her hand a shake before moving on.

Not having a second knife to use, Jun took out a kunai knife instead. The blade was not as long as her combat knife but it would do for now. For this next technique, she would merely have to get used to using more than one knife when using techniques.

Using the tree as a training dummy, she began slashing and cutting at the bark. This would be simple enough to start off with, so that she could get used to using a knife in her off hand. A simple way to start off and work to moving faster.

Jun was faintly sure that she could hear someone speaking to them. Sounded like some big guy shouting about the central area and someone meeting up. She was guessing that was a shout out to all of the genin in the area to get ready.

Moving faster, she pretended that she was facing an opponent and even began to mimic the movements to repel an attack. So far so good, perhaps this exercise might also help her become a bit more ambidextrous when not just wielding two knives.

Slashing away at the tree before her, feeling as though she was more than capable of using two knives at once, Jun stopped cutting at the tree. That would be enough kenjutsu training for now. Putting away both her kunai and her combat knife away, Jun moved on to taiutsu.

Next would be the Premium Hearts techniques for the third stage. These techniques would be complex as she would need to focus her chakra to move her limbs to the required speed. Although at this rate, she felt as if she were moving faster than average already thanks to her training.

Knowing that she would be using the tree as her training dummy once more, Jun moved her hands up, balling them into fists as she got ready. This technique would allow her to punch a target multiple times with pretty good speed, it would probably overwhelm her opponents.
[Post 2/6]
Deciding to warm up first, Jun began punching the tree, ignoring as other people headed for the central plaza. She had really arrived late anyway, she would probably be a little late to whatever meeting was going on there. So long as she was not disruptive, she was sure she would be fine.

The tree bark of the palm tree hurt her knuckles a little but it would probably stop soon enough. Jun began to focus chakra into her fists and arms, ready to speed up her attack so that her arms would move much more quickly now.
[Post 4/6]
Hearing someone speak to her as her arms moved at an even greater speed now. As she pummeled the tree, she glanced to her side and saw that the same guy from before was there, saying something... wait, that was in introduction.
[Post 5/6]
Not answering him just yet, Jun began to finish her attack as the chakra began to fade. Focusing on one point, her fists hit the same place on the tree until it began to crack. It did not fall over just yet, but she would be able to topple it while learning her next attack.
[Post 6/6 Learned Beat Rush]
This time, Jun began to focus chakra in her legs before she began to lash out at the tree. First with multiple kicks from one leg, then switching to the other, and finally switching between the two more quickly. Basically the same as the attack before but with kicks.

"It's not like we have to report immediately. The others certainly are not in a rush." commented Jun, continuing to kick away at the palm tree, hearing another crack coming from the spot she had punched at before.

The other's introduction did interest her though, since he was of the Uchiha clan. Mifune would probably know who this guy was since he was the head of the Uchiha clan and vice versa. Although right now she would just have to focus on what she was currently doing.

"Gimme a minute, I'm knocking out some last minute training. Or not, your choice." said Jun, still kicking away at the tree, using front kicks, side kicks, round house kicks and any other kicks she could think of doing.

It was not too hard to have this technique down, she was basically just hitting, only at faster speeds at this point. It was not quite a speed she was used to, but she was still able to ht the tree and that was what was the most important thing.

Finally, with one last kick, she had managed to hit that one spot she had focused on. The tree cracked at the spot and fell over. It did seem like a bit of a waste to harm the tree. But the people of this village might just use it for something.

Standing there, standing on just one leg as the chakra began to fade from her limbs, Jun did her best to keep her balance. This was the last thing to learn for the third stage of the Premium Hearts taijutsu that she was studying, one more and she was finished.

If Miyabita was still there, then she would speak up saying "Sorry for the wait, almost done, just a matter of balance now." If not, then she was just saying it for no apparent reason then, so no need to apologize.

Growing more balanced as she stood on one leg, Jun quickly switched legs without both feet touching the ground. The leg on the ground pulled up and the other quickly moved down. She wobbled for a moment but quickly regained her balance.

Keeping her balance, she looked over in the direction of where people had been heading. That must have been the way to the central plaza, her balance was basically perfect at this point, she'd be able to head in that direction soon and catch up with the Uchiha.

Feeling that her balance was much better now, Jun had both feet on the ground before turning and following Miyabita to the central plaza. "My name is Jun Hyuuga by the way. Do you know Mifune Uchiha?"

Reaching the Central Plaza, with or without the Uchiha male, Jun quickly scanned around at the others nearby and at the podium. She supposed things were getting under way now, her was hoping that her training was enough she could reach chuunin.

 Rank: 'X' Famous Alias:The Emperor Chakra: 'X' Class: 'X' When the Genin came to the designated area, a man would be standing on a podium with highly exquisite clothing. Garbed in clothing that an emperor or a Daiymo would bare with a large, intricate tactician's fan that with a flick of his wrist, he opened the magnificently large fan and tenderly began to fan himself and eyed the Genin with his uncovered eye. 'Interesting little pawns. I wonder who be of most use to me.' He thought to himself before snapping the fan closed with a curt snap. "Genin... Welcome to Nagi island. I hope you found our accommodations suiting and have become knowledgeable of some of it." He hinted slightly before walking to the side of the podium, "But let us get down to business. Yes?" Soon, a row of gruff, and rather large men and woman would come before the podium with parchments, "I would like everyone to write on these parchments to tell me only who is on your squad. After that, we will continue." He said as his subjects would enter into the crowd of Genin for them to write down their squad information; or rather, just the people that are within the squad.

A bit of an odd name but Savos decided it wasn't for him to judge, as soon as the sargent finished he headed into the square curious to see what would await and nodded to Meiji ...interesting indeed.
