Despite being part of the 11th Division herself, Hikari Rei had not assumed first assault on the Shinigami cannibal like most of her other team mates did. Instead, she had taken in aiding the evacuation as her top priority, and knowing her poor people skills, she did so through very encouraging words.
"Move your a** through that tunnel or I'll rip it off you," she had stated bluntly to those who were hesitant in their decisions of escaping or engaging in the dangerous fight, which Bob, Takeshi and a few others was having their share of fun in.
Upon noticing the cannibal's hollow-like abilities, Rei felt her zanpakto, Akahime, shiver in anticipation to join the fight as well. Her partner, after all, had a venomous hatred towards the said beings and would definitely have not minded in butchering some of its kin. But Rei had to hold herself back. There was the possibility the cannibal could throw its attack onto the evacuees and thus, Rei deemed her current position as the best means of retaliating if needed.
But the fight with the cannibal was soon over, without Rei having to participate in the violence herself. Rei stood in position, waiting for the remaining Shinigamis whom had finished their fight to exit alongside her, as she watched the dying but mysterious Shinigami that had attacked them that day...
