He gained a little squeak noise as he pulled her in to the hug, not fully expecting it. At first she was stiff as a board, eyes wide, but after a few moments she allowed herself to relax into the hug. They both DID need it, it seemed they were both tense as hell this trip.
Maybe the mists was doing something to them?
"I just met you recently so i cant really say that you have gotten better or not, but i trust your word." Not really helpful in terms of motivating him, but she couldn't really say he has changed when she did not know him from before. That would be a lie then.
Laughing a moment later she planted her head against his chest again, ironically right where the wet stain had been. "Yes well my stubborn self is screaming at me that you deserved the second one, and the first one was a freak out session due to phobias sssooo doesn't count."
"Plus i think we have more important matters to talk about."
She paused for dramatic effect. "Was that a drawl i heard in your voice a moment ago?" Her smile grew into a grin as she took a step back out of his embrace. She had a sinking suspicion if she stayed there for too long, he would tickle attack again. She WAS learning.
"Ya know?"

He totally would have tickled her again. At least his blush had faded though. Bix was a bit eager to get out of the fog. Emotions seemed to running high today and the last time there was a freak out with a girl in the mist, he'd been suffering Insanity.
"It's not a drawl.. it's a twang." He huffed. "My accent from home. I sort of lost it in college. Sometimes it rears its ugly head..." He was eye shifty. Bix clearly wasn't a fan of the accent. He always felt like some sort of hick, even though it wasn't that bad.
"Let's head back, okay?" Bix's hands ended up stuffed in his pockets. Hopefully the path would be uneventful.

"Aaaw wont even let me tease you, will you?" She stuck her tongue out a little, but quickly recovered from her childish moment and took step in line next to him clasping her hands behind her back. "Besides You've seen MY home town. I can guarantee you, if i did not leave that place when i was 8 i would have more than just a 'twang' as well."
She had moved from small town in the country side to a larger town, up north, around that time. So she didn't catch a twang.
"I heard twangs are contagious otherwise....Ok ok i'll stop, promise." For now. "Though personally i think its cute, but to each their own!"
She continued their walk down in silence for a few, trying to ignore the fact the mists still made her feel boxed in. Tickled their skin some as it danced around them to a invisible tune.
"Jinkies, its creepy out here." Would he get the ref?

"You are so gonna make fun of me for it forever, aren't you?" Bix glanced at her as Ceres continued to make mentions of twang.
For once Mina spoke up. She'd been quiet with him lately, especially since after his spar with Hel.
She sure gives you a lot of compliments. She's a nice person? Mmmmmm What? Nothing...
Bix tried to ignore his weapon. She made a lot of comments and insinuations. In the past he'd let them get to him, thinking that as a female she had some sort of insight. Unfortunately he also forgot that she was a shifty serpent who enjoyed making him squirm.
"Ruh roh.. WHATS DAT?!" He scooby barked, pointed into the fog and suddenly motioned like he was going to leap into her arms.

"Only when you least expect it." Turn about was fair play, if HE thought he could get the slip on her well... she could war it back.
"Oh dont you dare try! You would crush me!" She backed off some, laughing softly with her hands in the air. Unfortunately though she was totally thinking he was teasing about the mist, prompted to reply to her Scooby-Doo quotes.
Only there was something about the mists.

"Did you just call me fat?" Bix gasped in mock disbelief but... yes.. there was something about the mist on their way back. It was pressing in tightly on the path, a block of swirling shadowed grey and white.
"Don't like it when it's like this.." His voice dropped away softly, the playful nature fading. Bix stuck closer to Ceres and reached for his marbles. After a thoughtful second he rested his hand on her back gently.
"Weapons out.." After a flash, Mina was in his hand.

Her smile melted along side his as the mood soon turned from joking, to serious. She would admit for a moment she wondered if he was teasing her again, but as he pulled out Mina she had a hunch even he would not go this far to scare her.
She really needed to learn his boundaries of 'scaring' and 'serious moment'. Weapon summoning was good for now.
She did not need to be told twice, the touch and even finally seeing what he saw was enough. Instinctively she lowered her hand and brushed the now warming metal of the belt buckle. Takeru was in her hand a moment later.
"What.. the hell is that?" She whispered at Bix, staring at the creature that was of the mists and yet not. Was this what he was afraid of on the trip up? Was this what wandered where the mists were thicker?

"Mist monster. I don't really know what they are. There's some shadowy ones too. They lurk around where the mist is really heavy. We're right between earth and halloween. Floating in the ether. Things sort of slip through every now and again."
The monster hadn't moved much. It was just a roiling mist in the shape of a hulking beast.
"Not very strong though. See how it seems more mist than monster?" The thing was moving now, whispers issuing from it, movements sluggish. "You go ahead. Good practice, I got your back!"

She should feel relieved that they were as little and worthless as they were right? I mean, they both had dealt with things much larger than this in the grand scheme of things, so why was this one mist monster giving her so much grief?
Maybe it was the fact it had no form, or maybe she was still recovering from her earlier freak out. Either way she felt fear for this formless thing, and that bothered her.
"You know as a moon usually we have YOUR backs, sunboy." Then again this was not some serious threat, so it should be ok? A small part of her recalled back to something about 'always defending' ... Eh.
Squaring her shoulders she moved both her hands to fit on the handle of the weapon, easier said than done and a little awkward because it was meant for one hand, but she managed. She charged the mist creature, and once close enough she slashed at it, watching the runes on her sword glow briefly as it passed through the formless creature.

The mist monster sliced, the whispers rising, as it slip under her sword. Each half swirled into mist but after only a moment, two figures formed from the pieces. They were half the size but moved faster.
"You tell me if you want to defend." Bix fired arrows into one of them, dropping back a step. "I got one and you got one!"

"The b*****d split in TWO?" The girl took a step back, staring at it and then at her sword. "If i keep cutting it will it keep... splitting?" One way to find out.
She swung the sword and, once again, the creature split in half and was even faster this time. s**t was this thing impervious to swords????
"Bix i dont think this is working too well over here." She wondered how it was for arrows. Still she took another swipe curiously at the thing.
You'd think, like a hydra, she would learn her lesson.

Bix's mist man burst into several pieces, each smaller and faster, until they had an army to tiny swarming mist balls, writhing around at their feet. They surged a bit, coming en mass at Ceres.
"Now you block! I'll fire!" Bix hpped back. He sniped one or two and THANKFULLY they finally weren't made of enough mist to shrink smaller and so they dissipated in wisps.
He shot arrows wildly into the mob.

"Oh so NOW you want me to defend?" She laughed, not more confident in fighting these things that she was actually doing it. Plus the more they chopped them down, the sooner they were so small they just puffed into mist. "They are gremlin sized, lets not dump water on them shall we?"
She ended up using her sword to slash them smaller and herd them into a small group, ducking out of the way when he sent a wave of arrows. She could hear them zip over her head before the sizzle of a mist monster dissipating.
Only until the last one was gone did she bother to look back up at the archer.
"...Anyone ever told you that your trigger happy?" Ceres smirked, happy it was gone. "...Though i say we uhm.. leave in case that one had buddies."

"I don't have a trigger." He grinned, lining her up in his sights a moment and doing a trigger motion with his finger. "PEW PEW!"
Thankfully the mist beasties faded though and the whispers disappeared as well. Bix's side wasn't aching, so that was a good sign. "I can't wait to get these damn stitches out so I will have a sweet scar."
He kept Mina summoned and nodded for Ceres to follow. "How's defense with a sword going?" Most of the Moons were defenders but she seemed to like to fight. "I know you like healing but maybe you should go for a different division?"
Lifers ran most of the medical things... Mists were supposed to be able to heal AND do everything else. Maybe she had other options.

"Defending with a sword, funny." She shook her hair sarcastically, honestly her swords structure was a mix of attacking and dodging. With the curve of her blade she could, essentially, block attacks. It was difficult and took training, but it was not impossible. "Classically you know swords were mostly for combat. You'd think i would have been paired with a shield of some sort if i was a defender only."
Are you saying that i should be fat?
No, Keru. You know what i mean.
Unlike Bix though, she summoned her weapon back down to its base form. If something came out of the mists at them, using her body as a 'shield' was better than a sword sometimes. She was not much help right now anyways, because she was currently staring down at her feet. "...just. I dont know, Bix. I like Moon. I like my team, but this defending thing. I believe a good Offense is a good defense. If you can keep your opponent busy enough to not need to defend, then isnt that... just as good? I fully admit i have a giant protective streak, but i mean so do you. Your not moon and you still take the bullet for people. What makes it so different for you to defend as a sun, and me to attack as a moon?" Was it really that taboo?
