"What are you saying, Rei?" Melody asked cautiously. He almost sounded like he would never leave her. Would he really be willing to put up with her for that length of time?

"Oh..." Melody said softly as she looked away again. She thought for a moment, the soft breeze blowing her flouncy hair. "I don't know Andreios... Surely there's someone else you'd rather babysit..." She said softly.

Andreios sighed, he obviously wouldn't get this mare to understand. So instead, he said nothing, and just looked off into the distance. His wings spraying out, providing shade for the mare's back. His head kept shaking back and forth imperceptibly.

Melody sighed and turned to leave. "I should go, Andreios. It was nice meeting you..>" She said with a note of sadness before she turned towards the woods and began walking away, her tail dragging the ground.

Rei watched her walk away for a moment before he realized she was leaving. He ran after her. "Melody, please. Why won't you just give us a try?" He asked her.

"I'll never tire of you Mel. I'm afraid that you'll tire of my boring self way before I do of you..." He liked this mare so much but it didn't seem like she was that interested in him.

"Then why would I tire of you Mel? With your cute comments and your wonderful voice. The music notes on your back draw me in and I don't know how I could not be without you. Can we at least be friends?" Rei just wanted to be near her, she calmed him down and made him want to stay somewhere and not travel so much.

"To be honest, Melody. I..don't know if I could settle down permanently. I...I feel the pull of the winds and find it difficult to stay still for too long. Though with you so far..most of that pull isn't here.." He was trying to tell her that he may not be able to life mate to her, just because that was how he was, but he didn't want to break her heart.

Melody nodded. "I can accept that.." She said softly. For she too was the same way.. once a song called to her, there was no denying it. She would go wherever it led her, even into danger.

"Then we'll figure it out togther Mel." Rei said kindy as he nuzzled her neck. He really had come to like the spacey mare, and he could see himself staying with her for quite some time.

Melody leaned against Rei as she sighed. "Very well." That's where they were when a female voice rang out, along with several other hoofbeats.
