Noland's laughter echoed behind the two, trailing off as he floated away.
Shun was the first to move. His first step seemed harmless enough, which was obvious - Levi's light was able to illuminate the area just enough to see there was nothing there. His second step, however, was into a small lake of water.
He disappeared into the freezing water, only to come up a moment later. It was just deep enough for his entire body. How fortunate! (Shun lose 4 HP for his fall.)
Once he managed to climb out of the lake, and take his next step, he heard a strange hissing sound. This might have warned him to the oncoming danger..
..but it was too late.
A snake slithered out of the shadows, and tried to bite Shun. It fails miserably. But Shun's daggers are still missing.. he's going to have to fight with his fists.
(Fear powers are off for these fights, and both Levi and Shun are knocked down to 2d8 in their attacks.)

It seemed to go alright, until he found himself dropping into really cold water. Cursing as he resurfaced, he grimaced while quickly trying to wade his way through to get out of there. He managed to do so, but Shun was now drenched and freezing as a result.
"Kusoo..." he hissed before... hearing a hissing sound in return. Something had struck out at him. The Reaper attempted to call forth his daggers, but quickly found that it was to no avail. Fine, he'd have to fight hand to hand.
It wasn't easy, fighting in the dark though. He just made a quick blind strike with his fist to where he thought he caught movement, just barely grazing the creature.

Shun paused for a moment, trying to narrow in on the snake's location while still listening. But, it was a quieter and probably smaller creature than Mitsu is, so pinpointing was a little more difficult. Even so, once he had an idea where it was, he struck once more.

Listening for a snake seemed like a very smart choice. The snake let out a loud, rattling hiss when Shun's fist connected with it's side, and it thudded against the floor once before attempting to strike at the offending hand.

Shun grimaced as he felt the snake's fangs cut into his knuckles before attempting to make a rough grab for the creature. If he could hold it down, he could hit it more easily.

And Shun did not like bitey snakes. Once he had a hold of the creature, he violently jerked its body in his hands in an attempt to break its spine.

Levi's skin quivered to the sensation of whatever it was on her. What in the heck IS this?! It was just everywhere from head to toe. It was gone when Noland mentioned them. What was them?
Same'ta yew. She saw Shun off, slowly darkening as he left her shiny glow bit by bit.
Noland suggested they get a move on. The ghoul wasn't looking to dissipate, so she too chose a path as well, feeling around by holding and flickering her tail in front of her like a walking stick for anything that might clue her in to what she was getting into. If there was a thing in there, and it was the same thing that felt her up earlier, perhaps she'd recognize the feeling. The tatzel moved as far as she could, just barely noting the form that was once Shun. ... Levi considered calling out to the boil, but opted for silence instead while things potentially moved around. If her glow didn't stir things, her voice might. The tatzel's thinking cap was on.

Levi fell into a hole and died. It would take a while to climb out, but once she did, she would find herself on solid ground once more. The light coming from her stomach illuminated some rather startled eyes in the darkness for a moment. Whatever it was looked entranced by the movement of her tail.. and refrained from attacking. For now.

The snake didn't dissipate, and so Shun decided to hang onto it. Because, why not? Having a weapon never really hurt. With his new snakewhip in hand, he began to slowly move forth, still listening carefully for any signs around him.

What her tail wouldn't know was that the ground in front of her that was ever so gently tapped crumbled in front of her, causing the ghoul to comically yelped on her way down into a ...trap? Not quite; judging by the light bouncing off the mouth of the opening above her, the tatzel was at least able to tell that she was in a hole. Whether intentionally placed here or not, she was stuck.
With a sigh, Levi felt at the walls with her fingertips, scraping at the surface with her claws and considering her options. Eventually, the tatzel was able to claw her way back up. It was more tedious than her usual method of bouncing back up with the aid of her tail but it was good practice to negate her dependency on it.
What Levi found once she was back up was rather startling. Wide-eyed, the tatzel ghoul found herself kneeling at the side of the hole, still aglow, staring at something. It in turn was watching her slow-moving tail. On the one hand, the ghoul considered fighting it but- their task was to try to remain stealthy, right? If she was seen, it was best to become unseen as soon as possible. At first, the ghoul tilted her head side-to side while reeling up into a stand, trying to see if there was a reaction from the thing. Then it was time to move on.
Levi sidestepped away from the critter as quickly as she could, listening for any following movements.

Shun fell into another pit of water on his last step. It was cold. Any minute toes were going to start falling off. (-4HP)Levi's first step was safe, but it seemed she had a way with holes. (-5HP) She fell directly into another one. It was shallow enough to climb out of again, and the ground beneath her was solid once more. But her listening skills had heightened, and several sounds around her gave her more clues than even the dull light she eminated could have offered. Something growled beside her. And not too far away, she heard the soft sounds of moving water.
