Jordan accepted the hand and got up, brushing himself off. "I'm good," he said. "Better now. Thanks, man." Harrison got a bright smile.
The phoenix was getting ready to make a dive. Jordan took a couple of quick steps forward and intercepted it; it swiped at him with claws again, but pulled back up into the air. "It's gotta be almost down." Jordan frowned at the monster and absentmindedly rubbed the spot on his chest where the phoenix's claws had slashed.

Cass got a smirk of gratefulness as Rep leapt back into action. He had no idea why she was in mist with her moon skills but wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. This ******** needed to die.
Somehow he managed to hit it again. Wether it was because of the confidence being backed up brought him, the amount of sugar he'd had that day coming into effect or some other mysterious factor, he didn't care.
What mattered was he hit it, and hit it hard enough to make it falter.

Because Aria had pointed and yelled 'DIBS!!!' was probably why.
Still, another hit from Rep was all Cass needed to move and fend off the countering claws of the Phoenix before moving back to work on pushing back any incoming attacks.

"Got it covered." Jordan paused long enough to let Harrison apply a bandage again, then braced himself for the bird's next dive. When it swooped down again, Ferros was there to meet it, roaring with a bird of flame. The phoenix screamed, writhed, and came apart.

As the phoenix fell, the air became heavy until the point where it felt like it would crush them entirely. The soft whispers of insanity are suddenly a screaming of anger, vengeance, and a despair so vast it took their last bit of breath away. And then...
Silence.
Freedom.
The remnants of the Phoenix were gone, taking with it every that bit of fog on the island with it. Endless blue sky and sun beamed down on Deus Ex Machina. After a week, the fog would return, slightly more dangerous than a year ago, but nowhere near as terrible as thepast month.

Cass sighed contentedly. Finally, they could go and like...sleep in their own beds or something.
She pat Rep on the shoulder, grinning. "You, me. Ice cream later." she nodded firmly. He didn't have a choice in the matter.

Jordan staggered under that brief and crushing weight of despair. What next? Had they just released something worse?
And then silence, and a brilliance he'd never seen on the island. Jordan looked up into clear blue sky, and forgot to breathe for long incredulous moments.
It's warm, Ferros commented, pleased.
"Holy s**t, guys. We did it."

Jerry, meanwhile, looked anything but pleased.
He looked what could only be described as crest-fallen.
"Y-yeah um. G-good... good job, guys." For a moment, he hesitated with his weapon aimed directly at where he knew his room was. If... if it was destroyed... *accidentally*... then maybe...

Rin swooped over to pat Jerry roughly on the shoulder, "Did iiiiit~" before scurrying over to do the same to Rep with an even bigger smile, "That was amazing. So much destruction and now we can sleep in our damn beds again!"

Aleister still leaning against the wall started clapping. They'd managed to get rid of the phoenix. He also seemed a little impressed that it was sunny. That was something they hadn't really seen while living on the deus island. Blue sky and sun, it was always foggy here, so it was a bit nice to finally see the sun shining on the island. Even if it didn't last.
"Welp at least now we can have our rooms back." He said stretching out a bit. "... Can we get something to eat before I start worrying about the mess we have to clean up?"
