[[Jumping forward, to have the brothers in the company of their parents, and their new siblings. This is my thought: They have arrived after the birth, but they are still foals, and therefore still in the company of their mother. This creating a surprise for the boys.]] It hadn't taken Eri long to locate their mother, and it turned out their father was still with her. Raz was quite surprised to find out that he had a new brother and two new sisters. I mean really, he thought to himself upon learning of the news, wasn't once enough? What could have possibly driven his father to leave the safety of the herd, travel north into the King's lands, simply to have another go at their mother? There were plenty of mares in the herd after all. But he had to admit, his little sister Jolana was cute. She had just the right blend of both of their parents. This was going to take some getting used to, and he sincerely hoped that none of them decided to follow their father south when they were old enough.

She knew that she would see her first batch of foals one day, but day? What a surprise! After all, she and her mate had planned for them to reunite once he had the guts to leave his herd for good, and to try to settle down together as one big family. Little did she know about these stallions of hers, just that they were her sons. Razien, Karitoriki, Eri, and Nasu. They were all here with the rest of her family. Flighty, her mate, Sharizard, Jolana, and Desoi.
"Well kids. Don't just stare at one another. Your younger siblings are old enough to stand on their own, so try to teach them a game of some sort, but don't go too far away!" It was obvious that she was distracted by something, like if she did not want to get too attached to her young. Why was the question.

Not one to ignore the wishes of his mother, Raz pondered what exactly it was he could teach his younger siblings to play. Looking over at Nasu, he said, "Hey Nasu, why don't we show the kids how to chase rabbits?" This had been a long-standing joke between them on the way here, and all three of his older brothers, Raz included, had teased him unceasingly with it. "What say you brother? Shall we see if there are any rabbits around?"

“It’s hard not to stare after all this is quite the surprise.” Eri wasn’t sure how to take the fact he had new siblings who were so young they couldn’t take care of themselves yet. He moved close to his mother. “Was this a surprise or intentional mother.” His tone was gentle and he smiled; after all his mother was dear to him. His ear flicked as he looked at her. She didn’t seem as cheery as she had been. He wondered why that was. Still if it was because she was worried about her other children and his brothers getting along with them she really needn’t. Eri would always be kind and protective to his family. “You know they are precious. I’m sure that we’ll get along just fine. By the way how have you been? I haven't seen you in far to long.”

"Yes let's!" Nasu giggled staring at his younger siblings. Finally he was no longer the youngest! But now that meant that he had more responsibilities that would come later. He looked around, not wanting to disturb his mother any longer to wander away, constantly looking back to see if Raz would follow. His eye flashed around for any sight of rabbits.
She sighed staring at her older sons, they all looked like they got along without her. Just that she couldn't bare the thought of losing this new batch to the Six, again. Flickering her ears, she blinked making sure that she heard Raz right, and she did. Rabbits. As Eri came closer, she stood up in order to nuzzle him.
"Your father..." she whispered. "He'll be back soon and we shall tell you all once he returns." she looked around making sure that no strangers were nearby. "I don't want to lose them like how I had lost you boys, but I'm magnificent now that you all are here. Tell me Eri, what brought all four of you here, arriving just a few days before your father has? We have been meeting one another every month here, but never thought that you would find out about this so soon!"

Jolana was sticking close to her mother, looking up at some stallions that she did not know. She tilted her head and listened to all the conversation around her, realizing these were her big brothers that their mother had been telling them about. Now that she was paying attention, they did look like her mother and father, so it should have been obvious that they were her brothers. When it was mentioned that they would catch rabbits, she had a curious look in her eyes.
"Why would chasing rabbits be a good game, Mama?"Jolana asked quietly from beside her mother.

His mother seemed so much smaller now that he was grown. It always surprised him. He had never seen her look so supicous. “Well mother I was hoping to sneak down and see Raz, father and Nasu, but I ran into Karit and the my other brothers only to find that father had left. Nasu wanted to see you so we all started off to see if we could find you and father. I don’t think any of us expected to find you so easily. We checked here since I remembered coming here when I was smaller.” Eri looked around with a smile. “It feels different coming back after so long.” His eyes turned grave as he looked at his mother. “Mother if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I would help you if I could.” He nuzzled her softly before looking at his new siblings. They were so small! He looked at the filly next to his mother. "Well little one. It certainly can be fun." He leaned down and nuzzled her softly. "By the way. Hello my name is Eri. I'm one of your big brothers."

Sharizad held back just behind her mother and sister. She'd never cared for strangers or changes to her small world; though she wasn't frightened, she always had to understand the situation before putting herself foreword. So these were her oft-mentioned older siblings. She watched for a moment, then snorted softly and shook her head. They wanted to chase rabbits? Really? How silly. Weren't they supposed to be older than that? Times like this, she felt far older than she was. Her mother always told her she was an "old soul", though being as young as she was she tended to ignore weird comments like that. Sharizad warily eyed the stallions further away from her. She didn't trust any of them, not yet. Let her brother and sister talk with the stallions first; she was going to see how things played out a bit first.

"Why, chasing rabbits will help your legs get used to running around Jolana dear. It would also be the perfect time to know Razien and Nasu." she said looking at them then back to her daughter.
He nodded. "Yes Mother. What Eri's saying is true." In a way, he felt like he no longer belonged in his mother's heart. She did have a new bunch of foals to call her own after all. Well now that they were here, he felt like finding Father. "Hey, I'm going to go look for Father since we're waiting for his return." Smiling, his eyes fell on the young filly that was at the back of the group. "Would you like to join me, little sister?" he gently asked Sharizard. Following Eri's words, he added, "I'm Karitoriki."
Flickering her ears at Eri and Karit, she nodded. "Nasu was always the nosy one wasn't he?" Chuckling, she sighed. "Some things can not be changed Eri. I plan on seeing your younger siblings grow up to become fine mares and stallion, which I was not able with you." Ignoring Karit's request to find Flighty, she returned to Eri. "There's one thing that I would appreciate you doing for me though."

Jolana listened to the conversation between her mother and her big brother, actually wanting to try chasing rabbits now. When Eri nuzzled her, she gently nuzzled him back with a smile.
"My name is Jolana, it is nice to meet you, big brother. Can you teach me how to chase rabbits so I can become better at running please? Oh and I would love to learn more about you and my other big brothers,"Jolana replied to him brightly.

Sharizad looked up at Kari, a bit of suspicion in her blue eyes. She still wasn't sure about these older brothers of hers. But he did address her nicely, her mother didn't seem worried, and this one looked so much like her father that she was inclined to trust him. Cautiously, she nodded. "Okay, Kari. I'm Sharizad." She stepped around Jolana and up to Kari directly, coking her head slightly to the side as she contemplated him. "I don't know where Father is right now, though, so I don't know where to start."

"Its fine Sharizard. Do you mind if I call you Shar though? It's must shorter like how you called me Karit." he knew that the request was only a suggestion, but then again, if someone was too attached to a longer name, they would refuse. He hoped not. "How about you show me around the place and hopefully we would be bound to meet him soon."

Smiling Eri could only guess what his brothers were like growing up. After all he hadn’t been there while Nasu was growing up. His little sister Jolana seemed ready to be up and about. “Well Jolana. Let’s see you get up and walk quickly around mother and I three times. If you do well we’ll move on to running. If you can’t then I’ll take you aside and we’ll work on walking steadily first. Sound good?” He really was a fool when it came to children he supposed, but he wanted to make sure she could walk steadily first before he got her running recklessly. He looked at his mother with some of the smile fading. “Mother you know all you need to do is ask if you want something done. ” He looked back at his sister to watch her progress, but kept an ear turned to his mother to listen to what she needed done.

Raz watched as Nasu headed off, in search of a rabbit to chase with his younger brother. Looking back at his mother, in conversation with Eri and Karit, he overheard Jolana mention rabbits. He walked over to her and said, "Come with me little sister. I'll show you how to strengthen your legs, and have fun doing it. Leave Karit and your sister to search for Father." He lowered his head and nuzzled her neck. She really was the prettiest of his new siblings. He could well understand his mother's concern for them. He and Nasu had been taken from her well before they were old enough to really understand what it was they were choosing. All they had known was that they were going with their father, and that seemed like the thing to do to a young stallion. After all, what could a mare teach a young stallion about being a fighter? But having spent the last few days traveling with the two brothers who had stayed longer with her, he was beginning to think he might have made the wrong decision. Perhaps he wouldn't have had that encounter with the Capra, had he stayed here. Or perhaps the female wouldn't have rejected him the way she had.

Jolana got to her feet and there seemed to be a gleam in her eyes, one to prove herself worthy of her brothers' attention. She looked over to Raz as he spoke and she smiled softly.
"Wait for me to show Eri how I can walk around by myself first,"she told him. She then started to walk around the group three times, not seeming to trip at all. When she was finished, she stopped in front of her two brothers with a grin on her face.
"See, I am quite capable of walking,"she giggled.
