I've read Caught in Crystal by Patricia Wrede and liked it quite a bit. There are sequels, but sadly, they are out of print. So I don't know where I'll get them... sad

Gloom xlii I've been contemplating getting all of the hardcovers of the British Harry Potter books. I really, really want them, I just don't want to go broke getting them. sweatdrop I love the British copies, they're so beautiful... except half of mine are wrecked in some way since I've owned them for years.

In order to complete Alexandre Dumas' classic trilogy of musketeers, I feel that I need a copy of Twenty Years After. I'm not sure about any specific edition, but considering the other two books in my possession I don't guess that would matter much.

Wouldn't you know that there is another Dumas book involving the musketeers? Vicomte De Bragelonne Or Ten Years Later. I am assuming that it is multiple volumes, but they are oh so hard to find. So expensive when you do find them. crying My uncle does indulge my fetish for hard to find books during Christmas so that's what will be on my wish-list for this year. Only that set of books.
I guess I could order it through the library, or see if they have it. One of the websites linked in the rules thread does have an online text of it available to read, but my eyes couldn't take that much reading. I'm really just like to have my own copy... *sighs*

I had this problem a couple of years ago.
I really wanted to read Exchange of Hostages by Susan R. Matthews. So I looked in every book store I could find, used and new, in my home town, the capital, and the largest city in the province (so three different cities). Couldn't find it. Finally I went to this one little store, and they looked it up on the computer, to find out it was out of print. ARGH.
No wonder I couldn't find it!
So I ordered it on Amazon.ca.
The next week I went to one of the bookstores I'd already looked in, looking for something else, and what do I find? Exchange of Hostages. sweatdrop
And of course now, a few years later, they rereleased all of her out of print books gonk

When I was in Europe, traveling abroad, I came across the quaintest antique bookshop. I seriously almost squealed with glee. I tried to find old copies of books I loved and cherished, especially by British authors. (We were currently staying in England, for reference.)
Lo and behold, as I'm thumbing through, I find the book How Green Was My Valley by Richard Llewellyn. If any of you have not read the story, I suggest you do so. It's historical fiction but I believe based on true events.
I happen to love Wales and its history, as well as the language and culture. Imagine my delight when they had the next two books in the series...and my horror when I found that they were missing the last one, Green, Green My Valley Now. Now my dilemma is trying to find a set that matches, with the same publisher and cover design as the original. ]:

lola_siannodel Hmmmmm....Well, I do want to read Child Called It. I heard it's a really good but sad story. But my mom wouldn't let me read it for summer reading xp She said it was too sad. Very good book. I have a copy autographed by Dave Peltzer when he came to our local Barnes & Nobel store.

I've read Howl's moving Castle at the library, but I can't find it anywhere at my book store! I'm gonna have to order it off the Barnes and Noble site itself.
I also wanted to find the Vampire Kisses manga. Once again, not at my store, but online. I go to visit a friend in another state and what do I find? Vampire Kisses! And I was dead broke...
And finally, I want to find ANY translation of Journey to the West in english that doesn't have to be ordered online! Barnes and Nobel has 3 different transklation available, but when I ask, they are always sold out!

I can't seem to find Billy by Whitley Strieber. I borrowed it from my local library once a few years back, and I loved it. But so far, I haven't found a copy.
