What is a C-I-R-C-U-S? The kidlets go on an adventure of sorts!Reyna Crelos The Lord of the Dead’s eldest child had quickly developed a talent for evading aoide and other various gods and goddesses that were charged for looking after him. Even at times he found the presence of his siblings and beloved mother suffocating. He was, without a doubt, his father’s son to the utmost degree.
Even if his father did drive him crazy and vice versa.
He did however find that when he spent too much time wandering, exploring, and generally avoiding his family, he began to miss them terribly. He found this to be rather inconvenient, but it was a situation quickly remedied if he were to hunt down his siblings.
Which was exactly what he was doing currently alongside his Shima. He had the most fantastic thing to show them! He was also fairly certain that his little brother would be able to read whatever it was on this piece of paper he had found. He had made out the dates and some of the words which he had gleaned from listening to, and otherwise watching, Akakios read.
He had taken great care to carefully smooth out the crumpled piece of paper, and he had traced out the words it had spelled in the dirt next to where he had found it. He just wasn’t so sure what this ‘circus’ thing was, and he was all but about to burst from curiosity. Surely his brother or sister would know what this thing was. The brightly colored illustration on the flyer seemed interesting enough.
Sure, he could ask one of the aoide or one of the elder gods, but what if they took his paper from him?
He had decided quite quickly that it would be best to avoid any such troubles, and so he had carefully folded his piece of paper and stuck it inside his satchel which currently held a small jar of dirt containing earthworms. He had almost forgotten about them!
He hoped his sister would like them. And he hoped his brother would be able to read the flyer. All he needed was to find the both of them before any aoide or other troublesome guardians distracted him!
Zero Dream And apparently Shima didn't fall under the troublesome guardian category. Oh, if the pup only knew...
But now there was no distracting her young master from his current mission. She hadn't really got a good look at the paper - Sotiris wasn't staying still long enough - but she figured nothing too bad could come out of it.
Yet.
So she simply let it be and followed her master silently, having shifted her claws away so that she would be able to paw about silently like a cat rather than the large canine-like form she assumed most of the time.Good thing that Akakios was never too hard to find. There were about three different places he could be if he was to be inside their parents' rooms - his own, the garden, or the kitchen.
Today it was the garden, where he was spawled all over the grass next to the rose bushes, his nose deep into a book as he was often seen doing, legs kicking back and forth as he continued reading.
Thabara Crys was where Kios wasn't - in the kitchen, learning a fabulous new thing to cook (or bake rather, once they got to that stage) from Ishum: Pizza
She thought it sounded fantastic - it had to be rolled out like cookie dough, but then all sorts of stuff would be put on top before backing, most importantly cheese. Which then would melt, and could be pulled into long strings, and-
Right now, though, she was still gleefully kneading the dough, enjoying very much how it had gone from being stick to just ... very fun to knead. And knead. And knead.
"I think that's been quite enough," Ishum said, "it's time to let the dough rise now."
"But!" Crys protested. "I want to knead more!" She 'looked' at him with her empty eye sockets, tears welling up in them already, her expression and whole demeanor heart-wrenching.
"No," Ishum said firmly, fortunately quite used to her using her powers on him now, be it on purpose or by accident. "It is time to let the dough rise now. It'll take about an hour or so, I'll tell you when it's ready, okay? So now go, play."
"Mmh," she made, a little bit miffed. She liked cookie dough better, she decided, it never had to 'rise'. Though the interesting thing about this dough was it had little critters living inside, called 'yeast'. She thought that was quite fascinating.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris caught sight of his sister first as he entered his family's quarters. She looked rather put out, but he was fairly certain he could cheer her. He nearly always could. He grabbed her gently by the arm with a small chuckle and bent down low to whisper in her ear.
"Have you seen Kios?" he murmured ever so softly so as to avoid the prying ears of any lurking aoide, "Have something for Kios to read to us both. I found a fancy paper."
He smirked broadly, quite amused with himself. "Also brought you a present," he sing-songed as he danced and skipped a few steps away from her just out of reach. He giggled despite himself and idly leaned into Shima with a playful shove. "Can help us find Kios, Puppy?"
Zero Dream It hadn't even been that long ago that Shima would have felt rather insulted to be treated like a pet. But... things had changed. So many things had changed, some for the best and some for the worst.
This was still way better than being enslaved by demons, so she couldn't really complain.
"I don't think he's very far." Shima sometimes did not speak at all, and sometimes a little more, depending on her mood. Apparently she was feeling talkative today, even if her hushed words were distorted slightly by having to speak through a maw. Oh, she knew where the child was - she could smell him from here, along with the whiff of greenery. The gardens.
She rubbed her head against Sotiris' side and would stay put long enough for Lacrymosa to pet her if she wished before padding off toward the garden.
Thabara “In the gardens,” she murmured quietly, her pale blue fingers fondly stroking the Shima's rough fur. At least she supposed Kios was still there, as she hadn't heard him leave. The doors were wide open, so her little brother would have had to be very, very stealthy to do so.
“A present?” she inquired, a hand trying to grasp the arm of her teasing guardian-brother, but he was already out of reach. Damn! “What present? What did you bring?” There was little interest, if any at all, for the 'fancy paper' he'd brought.
Reyna Crelos "Something you will like!" he chirped happily as he let go of Shima and otherwise danced, skipped, and hopped his way over towards the garden. "Come with me, and I shall give it to you!"
He chuckled good naturedly and padded his way into the garden. He quickly spied his little brother and all but threw himself down next to him with a look of mischief. "I found something," he announced proudly.
Zero Dream Akakios was indeed where everyone said he had to be, and he only looked up from his book when Soto crash-landed beside him. He was good at toning out the hustle and bustle of people coming and going, but this was a bit harder to ignore. Not that he wanted to to begin with. "Something ?"
This was curious. It was rare that Soto found something and came to him. When he found things, they usually went to Crys. Or mom. This alone was enough for him to close the book with a soft thud and sit. "What did you find ?"
Thabara “I want my present!” Crys pouted, her hand still resting on Shima's back. She knew their quarters inside out, and certainly did not require a guide. It was more of a comfort thing that she would keep physical contact with the shifter. “Don't tell me you have something, if you wont give it to me. That's mean.” Her chin moved forward in a way akin to Soto's, or even their father's, whenever they felt insulted.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris snickered quietly despite himself. "Okay, okay!" he conceded,
"You can have present. Told you would give it to you if you came with me to find Kios." He sat up cross-legged and dug into his small satchel to retrieve the small jar and handed it over to her with a look of pride. He had spent most of his morning digging in the ground the find those particular worms!
He then turned to his brother and retrieved his paper which he had neatly folded. He handed it over to him and peered over his shoulder as his youngest sibling looked it over. "What's it say?" he murmured, "Found it outside."
Zero Dream Akakios was indeed quietly amused, though he was careful not to laugh or otherwise show his amusement in any audible way as Soto gave in all to quickly to their lovely sister.
The irony that he would probably have done the same thing completely escaped him.
"What is is ?" He asked Crys, so that his interest would come across. He had a good idea what it had to be, given the jar full of earth and wriggly things, but it always seemed better to ask anyway.
He took the paper as it was handed to him, peering over. "Circus..." What's a circus ? "Festival. One night only. I think that's today's date." He pointed out the string of numbers for his brother's benefit. "Dunno what a circus is. But a festival is like a gathering of a bunch of fun things. Mom told me she went at one a long time ago."
This seemed interesting, and his own expression turned to mischief. "We should go check it out."
Thabara Crys promptly sat down with an expression of glee, the small jar hugged to her chest momentarily before she flipped open the lid and went to explore it's contents with her nimble fingers. “Squiggly~!” She announced, quite obviously pleased with her gift. She didn't mind now to listen what that strange paper Soto had brought was about. She didn't say anything, but at the mention of a “festival” her ears perked visibly. “Festival” usually meant getting interesting things to eat that strangely weren't available otherwise. Like … cotton candy. Or burnt sugar almonds.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris leapt to his feet with a small noise of excitement. The noise would have been a joyous shout but he had enough sense to cover his mouth lest any of the other servants overhear. "Let's go! Let's go! Let's go to the circus!" he announced to his siblings.
He danced around them both before settling himself back down to the ground. He idly pet a spot on the ground next to him to indicate that Shima should sit next to him. "Does it say where it will be?" he asked his brother. He hoped it wouldn't be too out of the way. If they ventured too far they were sure to be caught by an overly worried aoide or worse yet – Dad.
Zero Dream Shima laid down in the place that was indicated for her, listening to the children plot idly. She knew what this would mean, really - mischief. But for now, she did not intervene, content to serve her role as loyal puppy. She'd follow to make sure all would be well and safe, however.Akakios looked back down at the paper when asked where it was, and folded it open. "I think..." He wasn't an expert address reader, but... "I think a little bit further than what the market is ? It says." He pointed at the word - apparently this was just as much a lesson than anything else. Maybe one day he'lld get to tie Soto down for something more, but for now one word there and there was about as much his elder brother could really take before his attention wandered elsewhere. "Outskirt... Which is like a little bit outside of town."
Thabara “A skirt is what girls wear, and women,” Crys divulged her knowledge randomly. As Soto and Kios were both boys, she didn't think they'd know much about girls' clothes. She'd tried both, skirts and pants, and found that she preferred skirts very much, as long as they weren't too long. So, did that mean the town was female, as the circus was just outside its skirt? It didn't seem wholly unlikely – Universe had been both, a place and a person, and their dad was too. “I know where the market is,” she added. “I go there often, with Ishum. People there give me gifts all the time. I can find it?” she offered, generously. She wasn't quite sure yet if she herself wanted to actually go to that “circus” place, but it was obvious both her brothers wanted to, very much so.
Reyna Crelos Soto clapped both his hands to his mouth and lolled to the side as he attempted to restrain both himself and contain his excitement. He giggled despite himself. "Yeah! Yeah!" he declared joyously, "Sis knows the way! Sis knows!" He looked at his sister and then back at his brother, puppy dog tail wagging in ancitipation of the adventure at hand. "We can take Puppy," he said slowly as he looked over at Shima, "For keeping safe." If she went along with it was certainly less likely that they would end up in trouble.
Zero Dream "Ah..." Apparently, this hadn't really occured to Kios at all. He knew what a skirt was, of course - his sister and his mother had many pretty ones they liked to wear - but he'd never heard of a town wearing one. Curious.
His book was all abandonned as he shifted to stand, brushing a few stray grass and leaves away from his tunic. "We're going, then ?" Even he sounded rather excited. All three of them with Shima, and no adults ! This was ACE, no matter what this circus thing would be about.Shima, for her part, said nothing, but quite distinctively looked as amused as a canine beast could look like.
Thabara “Only to the market,” Crys tried to dampen her older brother's enthusiasm some. She'd rarely ever been any further out than this, only once, when she'd been away with Ishum and aunt Cos to search for Fin. “But we can ask people there,” she added with a nod. People on the market were nice, they always gave her gifts. She was sure someone would be able to tell them the way to that 'circus'.Ishum observed them quietly as the children snuck out, having overheard most of their conversation – seriously, it wasn't like Crys or Nergal had the sole monopoly on moving about almost soundlessly. Well, Shima was with them at least, and while he did have a good idea of the role she'd played in his Lord's abduction, he also had a gut-feeling that he could trust her. Perhaps it had to do with her beastly side … That, and Poe would no doubt join his mistress once they were outside. The children would be watched over. Still … Ishum eyed the pizza dough, then sighed and wrapped it up to store it in the fridge, before he went for the kennels to fetch the Cerberus. Lunch would have to wait for now. He knew where the children would be going, to catch up with them would be a cinch. His presence probably wouldn't be required, but if anything went wrong, Nergal would have his hide. Quite literally, he had no doubt about it.
Reyna Crelos Soto danced every few steps that he walked, albeit silently. Or at least as silently as he could. He was quite capable of containing himself when it came to important-sneaking-around-things, but the entire prospect before them was just so exciting! He had escaped the Pantheon, and his family's quarters specifically, often enough that it was almost too easy. "Where to now?" he asked his siblings once he deemed they were a safe distance away from all interfering adults. He looked up at his puppy before patting her side and burying his face into her furr with a contented look. "Puppy could take us? Would be faster?" He looked up at her expectantly, tail wagging.
Zero Dream 'Puppy' remained silent for the most part, if not a little resigned. To be used as a mount, of all things... If it had been anyone else, they sure could have walked.
But it was her young master, and thus she would comply. There were certainly worse things... Still, she paused for a moment, looking at the three. They were pretty small still, though they had grown and matured much since she had come to the pantheon. There was no denying.
But they were still small enough that... yes, she would be able to carry the weight of all three of them. Little more than feathers for her. She barked once, and laid down to let the three godlings climb on her back easily.Akakios, for his part, said nothing, and clutched his bag lightly. He wasn't sure this was a good idea... what if they fell ?
But like hells he would look like a crybaby in front of his sibilings !
Thabara Crys let her fingers run along Shima's furry ridge before she hesitantly climbed on her back, her thin arms hugging the beast's neck (as far as they reached) quite tightly. She didn't like to ride, or to be carried, because it massively cut off her sense of where and how far she went. But her brothers were quite eager to go to that “circus” place, that much was quite obvious, and to slow them down would make her a big meanie. She didn't like to be mean. That was something she liked to leave to their dad, kthx.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris happily clambered his way atop Shima and wrapped his arms about his sister so as to keep her safe. He idly glanced behind him and reached for Kios and gave him a reassuring pat on the head. "No worries, will keep safe," he told both his siblings. "Hold on tight," he instructed Kios as he motioned for him to sit behind him.
Once settled Shima took off and Sotiris howled with laughter at how gloriously fast she seemed to run. What fun this was! And to think of the exciting new place they were to see. He quieted down after a short time, but he couldn't help but cheer when the large tent that had been on the flyer soon came into view.
It looked amazing! There were spotlights and fireworks, and all sorts of strange colors and smells. He could not wait to get down and investigate the strange world that presented before him.
"Circus, circus!" he chanted victoriously with another peal of laughter.
Zero Dream Shima has remained still to a fault, like a good puppy - shifting slightly on-the-fly in order to allow Lacrymosa to get a better hold on her neck, which meant mostly thicker fur. She waited until all three were settled correctly before rising from the ground. She'd been right, the three of them weren't all that difficult to carry, light like a trio of little feathers. She started slowly, in hopes to not startle the blind child too much, but then broke into a full run after a few meters.
They were quite the little circus themselves, this hulking black beast running down the streets with these dissimilar triplets perched on her back. Perhaps, once upon a time, she might have been embarrassed to be caught in such a degrading situation, but right now she did not care about the looks she was getting from the unsuspecting mortals as she ran down the streets in search of this circus. In retrospect, it wasn't hard to find at all - the music carried well beyond the circus' physical location, being well-audible from miles away - or so it seemed to Kios, who had ended up forgetting all about this 'not looking like a baby' and started clinging to his brother for his dear life when Shima had reached top speed. His eyes were wide, just like they always were whenever he saw something interesting that he just had to know more about. While less enthusiastic than his older brother, his excitement was nearly just as evident.
Thabara Oh-oh-oh, she was going so fast! Crys pressed her face into Shima’s neck-fur, and kept her eyes tightly shut, her fingers holding onto the shifter in pretty much a death grip. She didn’t like this, not at all!
It was only when Shima finally slowed down after what seemed like forever that she’d notice the music, and the scents. The girl rose her head, flinching slightly at the sound of fireworks exploding, and sniffed the air. It smelled a little like the market, yet not.
The closest comparison would probably be the carnival held during the day of the dead. There certainly was candy about, and burnt almonds and the like. But there also were people, and animals, and strange-strange scents she’d never smelled before.

Promises, Promises In which the Greenling attempts to extract a certain kitten from his sister's grasp.Reyna Crelos Rare was the occasion that Sotiris was upset with his beloved sister. In fact, he could not remember any other time in his young life that he had ever been upset with her. He crossed his arms and huffed irritably, one foot tapping against the floor expectantly. His initial reaction to her ever being upset was to find a way to soothe and appease her. This time he found himself at odds with that initial need to cater to her whims. They had made a deal. "Sis," he began again, "Kitty is a present for Dad. You promised to take care of her until she was better and Dad was home." He pointed at the cat accusingly who currently was purring contentedly in her current caregiver's pale, blue arms. "Dad is home and Soft-soft is better. Is Dad's preseeeent."
Thabara “NO.” If anything, Lacrymosa's features were Stubbornness Incarnate, her delicate, barely visible eyebrows furrowed deeply, the empty sockets of her eyes … glowering angrily, if such was even possible. Those few who had ever been unlucky enough to witness Music being angry, would immediately recognize the likeness of Mother and Daughter. Or perhaps even Father and Daughter. She hugged the still rather skinny Siamese to her chest, tightly, possessive, but careful not to hurt her. “Kitties don't like him. And he doesn't like kitties, 'cept they're dead. It's a bad gift. Give him a real puppy?” Unlike her brother, she very well knew the difference between kittens and puppies. "'sides,” she added, "dad's bad with pets anyway. That's what he needs Ishum for.” Her jaw set in a way that was very much akin to their father. „He's the god of dead people. You don't want your soft-soft to die, do you?”
Reyna Crelos Sotiris groaned and stopped his feet in irritation and pressed one of his hands against his face before wildly tearing it back through his hair. This was not something he had anticipated, and he certainly wasn't sure how to handle the situation because his sister was his sister. "Noooooo," he whined. Whining, he figured, was better than yelling at her. He didn't want to do that. He was filled with the overwhelming dread that this was going to end poorly no matter what he did or said. Reason and logic apparently did not apply to baby sisters who wanted their way. "It's for Dad." He grumbled and growled irritably. "I know Dad is god of dead people. He won't kill her if she's a present from us," he insisted
Thabara “But, he's bad with animals.” She insisted. “He wont pet her, and! He wont give her extra soft pillows to nest on, and! He wont give her fish. And he wont pet her.” That one required to be repeated. Cats liked being petted, everyone knew that. And everyone knew their dad did not like touching … just about anything. “Annnnnnnnnd,” she added after a moment's thought, unconsciously raising her voice, “kitty likes me now. And I gave her a name already. She'll be sad if you take her away from me.” The latter was a fact, albeit one of her own (unconscious) doing.
Reyna Crelos Guardian's voice, despite his best efforts, rose in volume just as his sister's had. "BUT you promised," he shouted, frustration evident in his voice and his very form which shook with emotion he didn't quite understand or even wanted to feel. How dare his sister behave so! "And," he announced, " I'm the one who found her." He crossed his arms and scowled darkly with his wisp eyes sparking, giving away his true anger at the situation that he was faced with. Before either child could utter another word, the cat in question darted out of Crys' arms (as gently as she could lest she harm her darling child), and ran. "NO!" Sotiris cried as he gave chase after the changeling. "COME BACK HERE!" he demanded, to no avail.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris darted off after the cat, and didn't bother waiting on his sister. She was probably already crying and wailing over his taking the cat away anyhow. They had made a promise. It was endlessly frustrating that his sister was not upholding that promise. It had been very clear, at least from Sotiris' point of view that the cat was to be a present for their father. Crys was only supposed to watch over her until their father returned. Dad was back. The cat was supposed to be his present! Sotiris sighed in frustration as he peeked around a corner to see where it was the cat had fled to. It was huddled and growling behind a statue. "Come on, Soft-soft," he called as sweetly as he could muster, whining just a bit. Cobalt hissed and made a low, growling, gutteral noise. She wanted nothing to do with Sotiris, particularly since she knew he intended to hand her over to him. He would surely kill her, and then she would never get to see Lacrymosa again. The very thought made her impossibly sad. Sotiris got down on his hands and knees and slowly crept towards Cobalt. The moment he reached out towards her, she darted away again and fled back towards Crys' room. The little godling fell flat back onto the floor with an audible noise of frustration. He kicked his feet and tore at his hair wildly before hopping back up to resume his chase of the cat. He skidded to a halt as he realized the cat had made it back to his sister's swampy rooms. He would never find her in there, and not simply because his sister wouldn't allow it. There were far too many places for the cat to hide. He growled under his breath and stomped off to his room. He'd just have to try again later.

Brothers Sotiris spends a little bit of time with his baby brother.Reyna Crelos Sotiris was bored. This was never a good thing. It typically resulted in his doing bad things he wasn't supposed to. For the most part he intended to behave. Mostly. Dad was present after all, but currently Dad was pre-occupied with his sister whom had pitched a rather large fit as she was often wont to do when things did not go her way.
There was no way in hell, heaven, or earth he was going to spend his day with the aoidei so that left him with one person to pester other than his puppy: Akakios.
He knocked at his brother's door tentatively. He waited for a moment that seemed like forever and a day before opening the door and peeking inside.
"Hallo, what'cha doing?" he asked, "Can come in?"
Zero Dream Akakios was also bored. This was also never a good thing, even if then younger brother was less prone to mischief than the older. Sure, he was reading - but he'd read that story so much that he knew it by heart already. But his cat wasn't budging from under the desk, his sister was with dad (something about a fit, though he had been conveniently out of the way of said fit as he often tended to be), and he had no idea where his brother was.
Well, he hadn't had an idea where his brother was until a few seconds ago. Akakios perked up at the sound of his door opening, from where he had been laying down on his bed.
"Nothing." This was partly true, given how little his reading had held his attention. "Sure, come in." Normally he might have added to be careful not to let Liddell dash out the door, but there was no need to worry about [i]that now, thanks to dad.
"Sis' still with Dad ?"
Reyna Crelos Sotiris sauntered his way in and quietly shut the door behind him with a backwards glance to make sure no one else was following him in. "Yeah," he answered, "I think I heard her screaming. Still." He giggled quietly under his breath at the very thought. Their poor father probably had no real idea as to handle his daughter when she was in one of her moods. He flopped down onto the bed next to his little brother and peered curiously over at the book. "Reading a book?" he murmured tentatively. He fell silent for a moment as he gazed levelly over at his little brother. "Show me how to do that," he declared as he tapped at the page with one hand.
Zero Dream "Still ?" Kios kind of winced at the thought. He could quite sympatize with his dad, right this moment - he wasn't really too sure how to handle an angry Crys, himself. Which had much to do with him 'magically' not being around when it did happen.
"Yeah." He answered, but then was a little surprised at his brother's sudden request. Soto had certainly never been interested in books before. "I can try..."
How had Gianfar taught him, again ? Oh, yeah.
"Words are made of letters... So you need to learn letters first. Then you put the letters together to read words." He slid off the bed, wandered to his desk, took a pen and some paper, and flopped right back in his initial position. "Like this..." He started to write down the letters, explaining them.
He was keeping it shorter and sweeter than Knowledge's version had been - due to his own inexperience in teaching, and also because, really, there was no telling how long he would have Guardian's attention.
Reyna Crelos "Still," Sotiris replied with wide eyes. His sister's anger had only ever been directed at him once, and he just assumed that he not put himself in that position again if he had his way. He turned his attention down at the letters that Kios wrote down and grinned. "I know this one and this one," he pointed out, "And this one. Spells my name." He was certainly vain enough a creature to figure out how to properly write his own name. He had a basic grasp of letters and he liked to imitate his baby brother when no one was looking, but instead of parchment he typically scrawled things out in the dirt and then wiped it away so no one else could see. He snatched up the pen from his brother and wrote out his own name in surprisingly neat letters. "See. Spells S-O-T-I- ... whatever this one is... I-S.."
Zero Dream This would likely evolve into a very amusing picture in the future - the two brothers doing their best to escape their sister's wrath. Now that Kios had even truly been on the receiving end of it. Being the baby brother sometimes did have its uses.
"Yeah." That was more than he thought Soto knew, really, which made things easier. When his older brother was done, he took the pen back. "You're missing the r." He scrawled it in-between the two i's of his brother's name. "It looks like that.
The younger boy tapped his pen against the paper, then wrote out another word. Puppy. "Can you read that ?"
Reyna Crelos "Yes, yes!" Soto exclaimed, "That's the one.. R." His puppy dog tail wagged with his excitement and he squirmed to settle himself down into a more comfortable position. It was obvious that his little brother was now stuck with him for some time. There would be no escape. "Pupp.... pupppp..." the child said as he attempted to read what it was his brother wrote. His brow furrowed into worried lines as he contemplated that strange looking letter at the end. He traced it with one finger before shouting excitedly, "PUPPY!!!"
Zero Dream Thankfully, for Akakios, this seemed to be a good thing. See, he knew how distracted his brother could be, and the more he kept his attention, the more he'd be able to teach him before Soto wandered off to cause trouble once more.
"Yeah ! That last letter is a Y." This was working, in spite of him not knowing how it would really go. now he could pinpoint what letters his brother had issues with, which ones he didn't, and go deeper into those that required deeper analysis.
Letter made words - that's what he was focusing on for now. Then he'd start to make sentences with words and see how that would do.
He wrote another word - Crys. "And this ?" He kept to familiar words for now, things he knew Soto know. Gianfar had taken such steps with him, and he figured there had been a reason, so he mimicked the god who had once been his teacher.
Reyna Crelos The green child stared down at the paper, brow furrowed in concentration. He traced the C and then looked over at his brother as he rested his chin in one propped up hand. "Crr.... Cry..s? CRYS. Haha. Baby sister," he laughed, clearly pleased with himself. He shot his brother a sly look and smirked. "Think Sis is still yelling at Dad?"
Their poor father. He hoped not. He sensed to some degree that their father was a bit stressed being surrounded by all the servants and people in his wife's stead. His daughter throwing a fit of epic proportions hardly helped matters any.
Zero Dream Kios perked up at that question, letting his eyes fall closed. But... no go. He couldn't hear anything at all. He lacked the amazing hearing of his mother, or even of his sister's. Or perhaps he had inherited it, in a way, with how he could hear ghosts where they were around. "I dunno. I can't hear anything." And then, after a moment of thinking. "Im not going to go check."
Dad probably wasn't going to be in a good mood after he was done. Better to stay all holed up and safe, yes ?
Lament then took a moment to ponder the next word he would have his brother attempt to read out. He wanted something more difficult, but not too difficult. Maybe... Ah.
Then he wrote out his next word - this certainly looked more like a game than any kind of teaching. And so he wrote out cookies. "This ?"
Reyna Crelos Sotiris laughed outright. "I'm not going to go check, either. I am not that crazy," he joked before turning his attention back towards the paper his brother was writing on. He hummed under his breath in quiet thought as he contemplated the word written before him. There was that C thing again and two O's. He eyes brightened once he had sounded it out in his head.
"COOKIES!" he shouted in excitement. He bounced up and stood in the middle of the bed. "Let's go get some!" he declared, "Crazy face aoide with lots of arms was baking some this morning."
He grinned and bounced off the bed and onto the floor with a hop to his step. "Come onnn.... will be an adventure," he teased, "See who can get there the fastest and not get caught, eh, eh? Can snatch them up and run outside!"
It sounded like a perfectly flawless plan!
Zero Dream So much for Soto's attention span, yes ?
But Kios knew very well what this was. It was a very open challenge. One did not back down from a challenge like that. That made one a chicken, and he wasn't a chicken ! He shoved the paper and pen in his pocket and was off his bed in the next second.
"What do we do if we get caught ? Run away ?" Akakios badly needed a mischief 101.
Reyna Crelos "Well yeah," Sotiris chuckled. He ruffled his brother's hair playfully and grinned. "We have to be .. shh... quiet," he went on, voice dropping in volume as he spoke. A sly smile stayed upon his face. "Everyone is busy right now since Mom is not here." This was potentially going to be the most perfect cookie heist in the history of the WORLD... or so Sotiris was convinced. Distracted aoidei, distracted Dad with screaming sister -- he couldn't have asked for a better diversion! "Okay. So we run quietquiethush to the kitchen, right? Stuff cookies in my bag and then we RUN some more to get outside, okay?"
Zero Dream Akakios was smart - of course he was - but it wasn't the kind of smart that resulted into successful cookie-filled escapes. So he just listened to his older brother, a kind of conspiration-y look on his face. "Okay." He whispered back. Sneak, stuff back, run outside, be quiet. Sounded simple, right ?
Lament was very good at quiet. It was always how he had managed his own escapes when he wasn't supposed to go out. Slip out under everyone's radar, which was not always an easy task given the sheer amount of aoidei.
Reyna Crelos It was true that Sotiris was by far the sneakiest, and perhaps the most conniving, of his siblings. His brother taught him a bit more about reading, and in return he unconsciously was teaching him how to get into trouble without getting into trouble. "Come on," Soto whispered as he grabbed his little brother by the hand. He moved in almost complete silence with a grin plastered across his face. Getting to the kitchen would be easy enough. The hard part, he knew from experience, would be getting the cookies and then getting back out again undetected. "Watch for aoidei, kay?" he told his brother in a hushed tone as they skittered into the kitchen.
Zero Dream Kios gladly followed alongside his brother - he was doing good on the silent aspect himself, really, and he positioned himself to be able to look out for anyone that might be incoming without being seen too early, nodding along to his brother's question. He'd keep an eye open, but... Oh, how was he supposed to warn Soto if someone was coming if he was supposed to be quiet ? Uh oh... Hopefully there wouldn't be, through - everything was silent beside Sotiris' rummaging in the kitchen, and he didn't see anyone yet, either.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris pulled himself up on the counter and glanced over towards his brother. Good. He was watching. He stuffed as many cookies as he could into his satchel as he possibly could without squishing them, hopped off the counter, and ran to his brother. Mission half-way accomplished! "Let's go," he said as he nudged Kios out the door. He paused with a wide-eyed look when he spotted Mandara. "Runrunrunrun," he said in an urgent whisper. Of all the aoidei the could possibly run into, she was by far the worst what with all her many arms.
Zero Dream Doing good so far, really ! Soto had gotten the cookies. When his older brother got back to him, he just nodded along and went to follow, but then... Oh, disaster ! Why did it have to be Mandara ? If it had been Ianthe, he might have been able to sweet talk his way out of trouble. Ianthe had a weak spot a mile wide for him, and he knew how to take adventage of it. Mandara... well, was so cheerful that it sometimes scared him, really.
So the best idea was indeed to just run, and he did just that, launching ahead in a suprising speed for a young child who sat all day reading books. Not as fast as Soto did run, but hopefully fast enough for him not to get caught ! They couldn't get caught after going that far !
Reyna Crelos Mandara did indeed spot them, but Sotiris couldn't hear anything she might've said to either he or his brother over his own manic laughter. He grabbed a hold of his brother and rushed him through the main entrance of his family's quarters, and then they were free! Sort of! "Keep going!" Sotiris declared, still laughing all the while, "She'll follow us!" He knew that from personal experience. She would after a while give up and return to the main quarters lest she be needed by someone within the household.
Zero Dream Akakios wasn't laughing. He looked a little terrified, even. Just a little bit. Certainly enough to allow full freedom to his brother for dragging her around.
"We can hide." He whispered. "Under the cushions in a teahouse." He was never going to win another game of hide and seek again - but it was for a good cause. For cookies ! He could live with that loss.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris fell silent and all that could be heard from him was the sound of his feet hitting the tile flooring. He kept a firm grip on his brother and hauled him along. He paused only briefly to hide around one corner. He pressed one finger to his lips to signal to his brother that they needed to fall silent. Faintly he could hear Mandara call, "Oh young masters, do wait!" He snickered under his breath and darted around the next corner with Akakios in tow. "To the teahouse," he declared in a hushed whisper as he took off at a dead run just again. Hiding under the cushions, eh? That hadn't ever occured to him. He filed that away as a good hiding place, and it was true -- Kios would never win at hide and seek again.
Zero Dream It was for a good cause, he had to keep on reminding himself. For cookies ! And mischief ! Yes.
Akakios continued to follow his brother, only answering with a nod. He was a silent as he could be without being... well, their father. Or Silence himself.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris hid there for a time with his brother once they had reached the teahouse. He idly peeked out from underneath one of the cushions before bursting free with a gleeful noise after deeming that they were safe and sound. No aoidei in sight! Success was theirs! He moved to get himself more comfortable to sit atop the cushions and delved into his bag. Wordlessly he handed Akakios a couple of cookies before snatching one up for himself. "Mmmm," he hummed in pleasured as he chewed on his thoughtfully. "Good times," he declared with a brash smirk.
Zero Dream "That was fun !" Really, that had been ! The younger boy accepted the cookie and took a bite of it. Mandara had came across like three times and had never found them ! Really, teahouse cushions were the best hiding places ever.
"How long do you think she'll look for us ?" He said, a little amused.
Turned out that the aoide wouldn't give up, and the boys simply turned it into their own game, keeping them well-occupied until the scent of cookies finally lured them back.

Hide-Away Underworld finds his wayward son in an interesting hiding place.Thabara It had been a long day, when Nergal finally settled in front of the massive desk in his study, staring down on documents and the floorplans of his temple. Days seemed longer, here in the Living, even though neither here nor 'down' in his own domain there neither sunset nor sundown. It had much to do, he strongly suspected, with the simple fact, that, while he had almost complete control over his own domain, he had little to no influence on what took place 'up here'. His children were a handful, Kios and Lacrymosa both with their never ceasing questions about 'what' and 'how' and 'when' and 'where' and 'why'. Sotiris was notably absent most of the time, and Nergal wasn't entirely sure yet if he should consider himself lucky or not about it. Fact was, he missed his firstborn, and he would very much like to spend some more time with him. It felt unfair, sharing so much with his time with Kios and Lacrymosa, and Sotiris … not even being there. The mortals were another matter. He was used to his own bunch, but now he had to deal with Echo's as well, and … not trying to scare them, apparently. He had merely tried to explain to them that their goddess was taking a much needed break, and He Did Not Want Them To Bother Her, and the next thing that had happened was Echo's Aoidei struggling to explain to him that it might be better for them to take care of Her affairs in her absence?! “Nonsense.” He murmured, stretching his legs, his bare feet connecting with something … soft, and warm? 'Those damn cats,' was his first thought, 'they get in everywhere. His toes curled, hesitantly exploring the small shape underneath his desk. Not A Cat, quite definitely. There wasn't any fur, but instead naked skin and some fabric. Besides, from his experience so far, just about any cat but Annie would be on the opposite side of the room by now, hissing and growling, and seeking to escape as soon as the door was opened. Curious, not quite sure what to think of the matter, he bent down to take a look.
Reyna Crelos It was no cat or kitten that curled beneath Underworld's desk. It was none other than his most wayward eldest child nested beneath with a blanket. He had run amuck most of the day as he typically was wont to do, yet with his mother missing the household suddenly seemed busier all of a sudden. Her not being there had thrown things into an odd tail swing, and he couldn't for the life of him find a quiet space all his own. So he hid and found a comfy spot in the one logical place he knew other people and most aoidei would be disinclined to visit: his father's quarters. He woke from his brief nap with a muttered grumble at the feeling of cold feet nudging him. His eyes squinted open and he blinked blearily up at his father when Nergal bent down to examine just what was beneath his desk. The child's scowl dissipated upon realizing it was not some bossy servant or aoide and happily clambered his way out of his hiding spot and into his father's lap with a quiet yawn.
Thabara Uhm. Well. That was unexpected, to say the least … Nergal blinked, but otherwise sat perfectly still for a while, too surprised to do anything else. Not only to find Sotiris here, in his private chambers, without having made a mess out of them – Nergal gave a quick glance around, but was indeed not a single sign of his son having used them as his playground – but also for the energetic child to be so … unusually quiet and calm. Underworld's usually harsh features softened as he smiled at his eldest, and he shifted, just a little, to carefully arrange the fabric of his robes to be just a little more nest-like in his lap.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris was far more quiet and reserved than most people gave him credit for thanks to his energetic outbursts. He was also quite neat. He did not like his things to be out of place or broken, and thus had grown out of that particular habit very quickly. He did not notice how these things took his father by surprise. He was simply content to be there with him where it was quiet. He smirked faintly and buried his face over against his father's robes. No one would dare bother him now given who's lap he was perched carefully in. He would love to see them try! He peered up at his father and idly tugged at one of his dreads absent mindedly. "Hallo, Dad," he said with a grin that was certainly much more familiar than his having been perfectly quiet and still.
Thabara “Hello.” Nergal replied gravely, but not without the hint of a smile. “Were you looking for me?” Because, really, he couldn't imagine any other reason for his eldest to be inside his chambers. Given, he'd been around all day, and not that hard to find, but perhaps there was something his firstborn wished to talk to him about in private?
Reyna Crelos The little green child (whom was swiftly becoming not so little) chuckled quietly. "No," he quipped with a smirk, "I always know where you are." He beamed quietly at his father. He knew where most of his family generally was located at all times. It was both a habit and something of a security blanket for him to track there whereabouts and to know exactly where all of them were just in case. He began to squirm a bit, but from discontent. That too was habit. His puppy dog tail echoed his movements behind him unconsciously. "No," he replied again, "Was hiding." A stern look crossed his features, and he eyed his father with a Very Serious look. "I think the aoidei have lost their minds."
Thabara “Do you now?” In all honesty, he was much inclined to agree. From what he'd gathered, Echo having gone on a vacation, and himself staying, seemed to have thrown the household routines much more into a turmoil than what it'd been like when he had been gone to restore his domain, and then Echo as well to look for him. It was quite silly, really. “So you were hiding from the aoidei?” he inquired. It was something he could quite understand, really. There were times when he wished to hide from just about everyone – mortals, dead, worshipers, aoidei, fellow deities. But his sense of duty and responsibility kept him from doing so. Still, he wished he could. He found himself wondering if Harmodius might have a desk to hide underneath for a nap … A silly thought, that.
Reyna Crelos "Yes," Sotiris replied, "They annoy me. And have you met the one with all the arms?" His eyes seemed to crackle a bit at the very thought and grew brighter. "I do not like her much. She always wants to help me," he went on, "I do not require help with everything," he vented with a heavy sigh. He was not in the habit of talking this much to anyone save for his siblings, but he quickly found that he quite liked discussing these things with his father. "And!" he went on raising one hand and pointed finger as though to accentuate his point, "House is noisy right now. Do not like that." He wiggled to get more comfortable and nested himself against his father's chest in such a way that he could still glance up at him even though he had one cheek pressed against his solid form. "I hid here 'cause I knew that they would not come here." He grinned a bit, clearly proud of himself and of his choice of hiding spaces.
Thabara “Mandara.” Nergal said immediately, somewhat dryly, having no doubt whatsoever which aoide in particular his son was referring too. He appreciated her will to serve and to please, but- “I ...” He hesitated for but a moment. But there clearly was a thing such as being too enthusiastic. “I do not like her much either.” He admitted quietly. “She kept … 'bugging' me about your whereabouts today, at the most inappropriate times.” “'t was a wise choice indeed,” he complimented. “I would have been quite displeased indeed, if anyone but those dear to me had entered these chambers.” He had left them unlocked on purpose, knowing full well that no one would dare … Which gave him somewhat of an idea, and he looked down upon his firstborn thoughtfully. “So you came here hoping to find peace, and not to play?” he asked, just to make sure. It still came as somewhat of a surprise to him that his place was not in a complete mess. He knew how much his eldest liked to explore.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris rolled his eyes when his father indicated that Mandara had pestered him about where he had been. "None of her business where I'm at," he insisted a bit hotly. He grumbled under his breath and hid his face entirely against his father's chest for a moment before drawing away slightly. "I don't leave the Pantheon," he declared before promptly adding, "Not without my Shima." He had an appropriate sense of self-preservation, that much was evident. He was not so careless in his exploration of the area that surrounded the Pantheon. He fell quiet as he listened the low rumble of his father's voice. It was a comforting sound to say the least. "No. Quiet time only. Nothing to play with here," he answered truthfully, "I play outside. Inside is for quiet time and naps." He paused for a moment as he contemplated his last statement. "Mostly," he amended with a smirk.
Thabara “Hrm.” Nergal felt oddly pleased that this whirlwind of a child would seek out his rooms to find peace and quiet. He was quite unaware that this was the effect he had on most people anyway. When they didn't feel intimidated or downright scared, that was. Idly, he glanced at the contents of his room. True, there wasn't much here that would be of interest to a child. Scrolls and heavy tomes, for the most part, most of them of the kind that contained no pictures. Set in the alcoves, here and there, were offerings from the mortals that had taken his fancy, but for the most part the small niches were empty. “So,” he mused after a short period of comfortable silence. “Considering that you are gone more often than not, I guess it must mean you know all the good places hereabouts. Would you like to show me around, some time?” He should, perhaps, pose the same question to Ankou at some time ...
Reyna Crelos The child's face visibly seemed to light up at the prospect of showing his father around. His puppy dog tail wagged excitably, and he smiled brightly. "Of course!" he announced, "Could show you lots of things and places! I know almost all of them." He fell quiet for a moment as he thought about what spots he could take his father to that he might want to see. What hideaways and special spots his siblings liked to play in might his father not know about? He pondered this in silence before he began his excited wriggling about again. "Can show you my room, too!" he volunteered, "You have not seen it. I like it lots." He grinned up at his father with a look of pride, quite content to be the center of his attention for the time being.
Thabara “Is that so?” Nergal replied almost jovially, trying his best to look adequately impressed. He too was rather pleased to finally have gotten hold of his eldest, as they seemed to keep missing each other, what with both of them being busy. The adult with his duties, and the child with its games and expeditions. “I would like to see your room,” the elder god admitted, and he was – in fact – a tiny bit curious. He never entered his children's rooms on principle. Children they might be, but albeit young, they also were gods in their own right. The privacy of their chambers was to be respected – just as any other gods' within the Pantheon – and only for themselves and their numerous aoidei, servants and pets to enter freely. He couldn't help but wonder what Sotiris' room might look like – probably like some sort of a hurricane had just come through …
Reyna Crelos Sotiris hopped down out of his father's lap and ran a quick circle around his chair with bright, merry laughter. So much for quiet time and napping. He was excited now! He came to a halt before his father and reached to tug at his hands. "C'mon!" he insisted, "Let's see my room!" He danced and he skipped, puppy dog tail wiggling as he darted off and away towards the door, waiting for his father to follow him expectantly.
Thabara What. Now? But he'd only just sat down a mere few minutes ago! Nap time was over for the little one, it seemed, and so apparently was his break. Inwardly, he sighed, but he did rise from his seat heavily to follow after his firstborn. He was curious, after all.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris's laughter echoed in the halls. He paused a few feet away from the door of his father's study before running back in. He darted past him quickly and scooped up his forgotten blanket only to resume his mad dash to his room. He waited before his own door and hopped from foot to foot with anticipation while he waited for his father to catch up. He grinned brightly before darting inside once Nergal had nearly approached the door. He opened it for him with a sort of formal air, and invited him inside. "Is my room!" he announced. Initially, his room had been a bit of a mess, but for the most part he kept it immaculate as it was now. The only "mess" that could be seen was from his mound of pillows and blankets that sufficed as his bed. He moved towards said nest and threw his blanket atop it. He glanced back at his dad and grinned. "See my drawers? For safe keeping of things!" he said as he motioned towards the wall just behind his bed. The entirety of the wall was covered in drawers of differing shapes and sizes. The walls adjoining it on either side was lined with neat rows of shelves and built-in book cases. Most of them were empty, as most of Sotiris' prized possessions were locked away. The ceiling seemed impossibly high, though the light that was present in the room seemed dim, but not so much so that it hurt the eyes. If it weren't for the interruption of aoidei, pets, and siblings, his room would have very much been a restful place to be. It was in that moment that one of the many aoide within the household knocked upon Sotiris' door after having seen Lord Nergal enter. Sotiris looked a bit crestfallen as his father was called away with a promise to return and resume the tour of his room. Stupid aoidei always ruining his fun! Stupid dads! He huffed irritably and slammed his door shut, locked everyone out, and pounced into his bed to hide beneath the blankets and pillows with an irritable growl.

Waterlogged Sotiris meets Adi, the daughter of the God of Love. Original RP linked here.Meepfur Adi missed Glyph and Illisia already, not that she lacked for other friends or company. There were Forest's other aoidei - well, actual aoidei - and of course she still visited Rio, and was keeping busy with her training. The werewolf was anything but busy at the moment, however; she'd decided to go for a swim, though not in one of the pools by the Pantheon. She didn't feel like having to wear anything - really, that was a silly way to swim.
By the time she reluctantly emerged from the forest pool she'd chosen, her fingertips were quite wrinkled from the hour she'd spent in the water. Ambling over to where she'd left her clothes, she stopped and put her hands on her hips, frowning down at the furry gray creature who was using them as a cozy bed for napping.
"I need those, you know." Phlox blinked sleepily up at her, clearly unconcerned, although he did huff in annoyance when she tugged the bottom of her outfit from under him to tie around her waist.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris was not really supposed to leave the Pantheon itself by himself. Nor was he really supposed to go into the forest alone, and he had just told his father not but a few days prior that he didn't go es'ploring by himself. Usually. So he was making an exception to the rules instilled by his own sense of self-preservation and his father. There was no harm in that, right? Right! He had been in dire need of escape from his family's quarters. It was like emergency es'ploring for the sake of his sanity. He moved silently for the most part. He had a vague feeling that he was being followed by his puppy, but he was okay with that. Shima did not typically interfere with his adventures unless she thought he was in danger. He paused for a moment, wisp-like eyes dancing as he thought he heard someone speak nearby. Curious, he trekked his way towards where he had heard the noises and peeked out from behind one large tree trunk. It was a girl! She certainly did not seem very threatening. She looked a bit like a puppy to him, and puppies were always a good thing in his book. He edged out from behind his impromptu hiding spot and waved. " Hallo, miss!" he said with a bright smile. He was utterly unfazed by her lack of clothing being a child who both didn't know better and also preferred to dress in as little clothing as possible. It did so get in his way! He knew that his father generally was quite upset when he ran about without clothes, but his father's sensibilities were often easily offended. Silly fathers.
Meepfur Adi's long, tufted ears flicked when she was addressed, drawing her attention away from her stubborn pet. Hey, it was a little kid! A little green kid with a tail, to be precise, which could mean only one thing: it must be her other cousin! Not bothered in the least to have been 'discovered,' she wagged her wet tail. "Oh, hello!"
"You're my cousin Soto, aren't you?" The werewolf beamed. "I'm Adi! Were you gonna swim, too?"
Reyna Crelos " Hah! Yes," the child replied with a brash grin, " Am Soto. You're Adi? I've heard about you. Glad to meet you!" His tail wagged happily at having found one of the persons his siblings liked to play with. She seemed genuinely nice. It wasn't often he found someone he actually wanted to speak with. " Oh, was not going swimming," he answered as he tilted his head to peek around her at the pool of water just behind her, " Was es'ploring. Haven't be out this way yet. Swimming is fun, though." He had not gone swimming since he had last jumped into a pond with his Shima and found a shine for his mum.
Meepfur "Glad to meet you, too!" Her own tail wagged a little harder, as if in response to his. Though she knew other people with tails, most weren't the waggly kind.
"Oh, exploring's always fun! Have you found anything yet?" Adi giggled and added, "Besides me, anyway."
Reyna Crelos Sotiris grinned and his eyes seemed to flicker in reflection of his bemusement. " No," he replied, " Have not found things yet other than you." And personally, he thought Adi was a pretty good find! He fell silent for a moment as he rummaged through his small satchel that he kept with him when he was running amuck outside of his family's quarters. He withdrew a small empty jar with a frown before his face brightened as he retrieved a small parcel. He replaced the jar and untied the carefully wrapped package. " Cookie?" he offered with a genuine smile. If there were ever a truer sign of friendship from Sotiris, it was being offered one of his favorite confections.
Meepfur Now that she'd been found by her cousin, Adi quite forgot about the minor situation involving Phlox and the rest of her clothes. And when she was offered a cookie, well! She lit right up and accepted the gift with a happy "Thank you!"
Since no gift of food should go unreturned, she pulled off a piece of one of her gummi wings to offer to her cousin. There was a little water beaded on it, but fortunately they didn't absorb water the way fur did. "Here, it's candy."
Reyna Crelos The little godling's eyes went impossibly wide. Did she seriously just hand him part of her wing to eat? How did one go about getting wings made from candy he wondered. He felt somewhat lied to. His siblings had certainly neglected to inform him of this amazingly interesting detail about their cousin. Or maybe he simply hadn't been paying attention. That was always a possibility. He tentatively took a bite of the gummi candy. He chewed on it contentedly and threw his arms up in the air. " THAT'S SO AMAZERLING!" he declared, completely unable to contain his excitement for even a moment longer. " How'd you do that? How come you have tasty, sweet things for wings? Does that hurt when you do that?" He danced where he stood, tail swishing to and fro to mirror his happiness as he took another bite. He stuffed the last piece of it in his mouth and ran a circle around her quickly to get a better look at her wings. Soto seemed to calm at least a little bit as he came back around to stand before her, eyes still wide and crackling with his excited energy. " You have a tail, too!" he marveled.
Meepfur Adi laughed happily, absolutely delighted by her cousin's reaction. Most people thought it was a little weird when she offered them a piece of her wings, and the handful who didn't thought it was cool, but they'd never been so excited! "I was born with them - Rio has them too! His are hard, though, like umm...lollipops."
"Nope, it doesn't hurt at all! I even pulled both of them off, once. They grow back after awhile."
She giggled again, waggling her tail when he pointed it out. "So do you! I like yours, too."
Reyna Crelos " They just grow back," he repeated full of awe and wonder. He wondered if he could somehow procure a batch of never-ending cookies. He didn't think cookies would make for very good wings, but he was utterly enthralled by the fact that his cousin had candy for wings. He laughed merrily at her delight at his tail and rain in a quick circle again. " I haven't met many other peoples with tails," he remarked in quiet thought, though he hadn't met very many other people much at all. He had quite certainly inherited his father's reclusive nature. Another thought struck him as he mulled over what the werewolf had told him. " Who's Rio?" he asked curiously before adding, " And what's a lollipops?"
Meepfur "My dad has a tail, too, and my brother, and my Uncle Ea has two!" They were among Ea's many awesome attributes, like his leafy wings and green skin.
"Rio's my other parent, he's Love. And a lollipop is candy on a stick! They're really good."
Reyna Crelos " Ohhhhhh," was Sotiris' response to the information about tails and her family. " Ea has TWO of them?" he exclaimed. That hardly seemed fair. It was almost like how Mandara had four arms but not nearly as awesome. Tails totally trumped extra arms. " Rio is Love?" he queried with a look of curiosity until it clicked. Rio is Love. " Your parent is a god, too? My dad is Nergal. Underworld. Momma is Music," he beamed proudly before adding as an afterthought as he pointed to himself, " Am Guardian." He wiggled happily where he stood, eyes crackling with excitement. " Do like candy~!" he announced with a grin before happily biting into a cookie, " And cookies. They're my favorite! Do love them."
Meepfur "One of them," replied, grinning as she polished off her gift-cookie. "My other parent is an aoide - he's one of Hunt's, his beta." Adi was every bit as proud of one parent as she was of the other; she adored them both, and had pieces of each.
"Your momma's really pretty. I like her hair." And Soto was Guardian? Interesting~!
"Candy is awesome." Adi's little wings fluttered. "And cookies, too, and cake!" Basically, if it was sweet, it was pretty much guaranteed to be fabulous.
Reyna Crelos " You have two dads! And one is an aoide? There are lots of aoidei in my house. I do not like them so much, but your dads sound awesome!" Sotiris exclaimed. He had not ever heard of such a thing as having more than one father, but he was still quite new to the world. Adi was certainly proving to be a very interesting person. He beamed brightly with a brash grin at her compliment of his mother. " Yeah," he agreed, " Momma is prettiful. So is Sis." He stuffed the remainder of his cookies back into his satchel before a brief flicker of confusion crossed his face. " What's cake?" he asked, eyes wide.
Meepfur "Yup! It's kind of complicated, but Rio was a girl for awhile, because his host was a girl, so that's how he could have my brother'n' me - so he's my mom, basically.. He's not a girl anymore, though, so yeah...I have two dads!" It was pretty awesome, really. One more thing that made her special!
When Soto asked her what cake was, though, her expression turned to disbelief. "You've never had cake?" she asked incredulously. "Cake is amazing! It's what you have for parties, like birthdays and stuff. But you can have it other times, too."
"We have got to get you some cake. I bet Rio has some, he always has stuff like that around." Or rather, Nashwa and his aoidei knew he liked sweet things, and made sure there were always some to be had.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris did the only possible thing that came to mind at Adi's suggestion that they find some cake for him to try. He threw his hands up into the air and ran circles around her all the while cheering:" CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! CAKE! CAKE!" with an abandon that could only be described as utterly joyous. Clearly, he had been destined to meet this strange mostly naked girl with two awesome dads for a good reason. They were fated to be the best of friends. He could sense it. He ceased his flailing about for a moment with another excited shout as he stood before her expectantly, puppy dog tail wagging to and fro in an echo of said excitement. " CAKE~!" he declared again with a happy look plastered upon his face in emphasis of whatever point he thought he was making evident. " Let's go get some cake! This is the Best. DAY. Ever!"
Meepfur Soto was, like, the happiest and most excitable person she had ever met. It was awesome. "Cake!" she echoed with a laugh, hopping up. "It's gonne be awesome~"
Oh, right. Hopping around in her excitement, Adi was reminded that she was not fully dresed. "Come on, Phlox!" she insisted, plucking the floox from his napping spot to reclaim and don her top. "We're gonna get some cake!"
The little critter was offended at first, but cheered up at the suggestion of food - so much so that he scuttled off in the direction of the Pantheon without waiting.
Adi giggled. "Looks like a race to me!"
Reyna Crelos " YAY!!" Sotiris shouted. His glee increased ten thousand fold at the mention of it being a race. He gave another excited yell and took off running as fast his legs would carry him, laughing all the while. He caught up with the floox easily enough and pulled a face at the little beast with a laugh as he kept running.
Meepfur Last to start, Adi was nonetheless quick to gain ground - she did have much longer legs, after all, not to mention their shape. She lagged a little on purpose, though, since it would have been mean to just breeze past her younger competition. She did let herself overtake her cousin eventually, but not until they were at the Pantheon, and nearly to the stairs, which she bounded up gleefully.
She didn't stop until she'd practically burst through the door to Rio's rooms, laughing breathlessly. Poor little Phlox was definitely in last place, but it was nothing new.Curious about the commotion, Nashwa padded out to see what was going on, large feline ears alert. "Aanisah Adi...? Oh! You have brought company!" The katta brought her hands together and bowed. "Good day, effendi.""Hello, Nashwa!" Adi wagged her tail. "This is my cousin Soto. Do you have any cake?"
Reyna Crelos Despite having lost the race, there was very little that seemed capable of dampening young Guardian's spirits. He laughed as he darted up the stairway after his newfound friend and came to halted stop as they jointly stormed into Rio's rooms. He realized as he stepped inside that he had not ventured into many of the other Gods' and Goddesses' rooms within the Pantheon. His eyes turned to Nashwa and he inclined his head with a polite nod. He supposed it was fitting – he'd seen his father do it. " And good day to you, miss!" he said merrily, quite bemused, tail wagging in a reflection of his mood.
Meepfur This latest 'cousin' was quite fascinatingly green; Nashwa had never imagined that a person would be such a shade! Perhaps it was not so unusual for a god, though. And he had a tail, rather like a puppy's. He was well-paired with Adi! "Cake? Why yes, I did make some yesterday - there should still be some, unless someone has eaten it for breakfast." Her fanged smile was teasing; she knew Adi liked sweet things for breakfast. "And there is lunch as well, if either of you would like something more substantial."As the katta disappeared into the kitchen, Adi followed, and motioned for Soto do so as well. "Come on, let's go see what kind it is!""It is chocolate." Lifting the top from a cake stand, Rio's follower seemed relieved to find that there was cake left - more than enough for their two visitors. "If I had known you were coming, I would have made yellow for you." Said chocolate cake was quickly portioned onto two small plates, which Nashwa set on the table before pouring milk to accompany it.

Little Big Brother Soto finds a stranger in the kitchen who turns out to be his... brother?!Reyna Crelos For the most part, Sotiris did an excellent job at being as antisocial as his father. Things were far less complicated when he kept to himself. He had also been particularly moody as of late for reasons he couldn't quite put to words. There was a deep rooted restlessness in him that he couldn't hardly stand. It was like his very soul was being eaten away at which each passing moment he lingered within his family's quarters. And yet, there he was, stuck inside the Pantheon and being herded about by aoidei that all had the very best of intentions for him. With a grumbling, growling noise, he stomped from his room to the kitchen to raid whatever cookies there were. He knew Mandara had been baking earlier in an effort to appease him and lure him from his room. The effect was generally temporary, and while he found her to be annoyingly cheerful all the damn time, he could not deny that her baking skills were quite superb. He paused around the corner of the doorway and glanced about to see if she was still there. If the multi-armed aoide was present, he was just going to dash back to his room, and try again later. What he saw was most certainly not an aoide. At least he didn't think so. Puzzled, he moved to stand a little further into the doorway, arms crossed over his chest. Who the heck was this weird person in his kitchen with crazy markings on their face and long purple hair? It certainly wasn't his mom. Mom was prettier than that. It was... His eyes went impossibly wide. " Kios?!" he blurted out, effectively disturbing the silence and giving away his presence there in the doorway.
Zero Dream Likewise, Akakios had been rather scarce, but for entierely different reason. There was a library full of books to re-copy and restore, after all, and he had been a rather determined worker even before he had grown. Since there, however, Lament was more and more often gone, for actually the same reasons his elder brother felt - while their mother had adapted well enough into giving him his space, the aoidei... Well. His own knew better than to bother him, but Echo's had not seemed to have gotten the memo.
He could certainly handle himself well enough, thank you very much. Now, he had dropped in right after an all-nighter at the library to prepare tea, as he often did. He knew at which times the others usually dropped by, and he liked to be ready for them. He rarely did drink the tea he brewed, but he had never minded. His veil had been taken off to facilitate preparation, as this was a blend that his mother had told him Endiovar enjoyed quite well.
It was one voice, a very familiar voice, that shattered the silence, and made him look up. Apparently his older brother had the same idea than he did - crawling around in the early morning to avoid rude interruption of whatever they were doing.
...Through, this was honestly awkward. He'd certainly thought to take advantage, given how Sotiris loved to torment him, but now that they were face to face, Akakios was too dumbstruck to take advantage of it. Really, he had once been that tiny ? No, tinier even. Soto had always been taller than him.
...Until now, really. He was still only a few inches above Echo's height, but Soto could have made him feel like a giant. "Trying to avoid crazyface ?" Yeah, he was not a fan of Mandara, through he found he'd liked the aoide much better once she could no longer scoop him off the floor as she wanted. Really, he was just trying to take it cool - Soto was bound to be... well. Unhappy. And he saw no need to state the obvious.
Reyna Crelos " Mhhmm," Sotiris grumbled as he walked directly up to his brother without further comment. He clambered up onto the kitchen counter with grace and agility that belied his child-like appearance. He reached out and grabbed a hold of Kios' face and pulled him closer so that he could look at him eye to eye whether his brother liked it or not. " What'd you do to your face?" he demanded, hissing in irritation, " And how did you get bigger than me?" This seemed so wrong, strange, and foreign in every possible way. He was the eldest of his siblings. His brain could not possibly comprehend how it was that Akakios of all people had come to power before him. The very thought made his tail visibly bristle and the wispy glowing orbs that were his eyes crackled like lightening.
Zero Dream This was the proverbial no-win scenario. A deific-scale Kobayashi Maru, He had read about that once, in a book full of spaceships and stars, and it seemed utterly and completely fitting. Heaven knows he knew all too well that there was only one way this could possibly go - straight down. Trying to calm Sotiris would anger him more. Taking a step back and watching his older brother face-plant, while possibly quite satisfying... Well, there would be hell to pay later. And that is, more hell to way than he was going to get on principle.
"Nothing." He huffed, crossing his arms. "Ir just happened." It was obvious that he was rather displeased, though... Well, even grown, he hardly looked intimidating. He was, indeed, much too... pretty for this. The slightest balm on Guardian's ego, perhaps. One finger tapping on his upper arm, leaving faint black spots behind. That was a perfectly valid answer for both questions, really. "My power just kind of... did things without me telling it to do it. And it happened."
And it had hurt like hell, but he saw no need to admit that. He already had the crybaby reputation - he saw no need to bring attention to it for things that ultimately did not matter.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris relinquished his grip he had on his brother before he did something stupid like bash his face into the nearby counter. He didn't truly ever want to cause anyone harm, particularly his family. He was Guardian. He was meant to watch over and protect those who needed it, but it was infuriatingly difficult trapped as he was in the form of a child. He wanted more than that. He wanted to show his siblings, his parents, and the god forsaken aoidei that he was Guardian, and not simply a child that needed looking after. He growled, snarling in irritation as he jumped down off the counter and stalked off. He had nothing more to say to Akakios. There was nothing that could be said that could currently soothe the frustration he felt. It wasn't his brother's fault, and he knew inwardly he shouldn't take his having grown to power before him personally. "Oh, young master!" Mandara called, "There you are." She moved towards the young godling, but stopped short at the fierce look upon his face. "Ah... is.. is everything okay? I .. baked cookies for you?" " NO," Sotiris hissed, venom in his voice as he stalked past her before taking off at a run towards his room. He slammed the door behind him, and slid down to the floor in a crumpled heap. He felt utterly defeated and impossibly angry. He wasn't certain if he wanted to scream or cry. Possibly both. There was only one thing he was positively certain of: he needed to escape the Pantheon. He was never going to grow if he was constantly smothered and catered to as a child by his family's servants.
Zero Dream Akakios might have gotten a word in edge-wise if Mandara had not chosen this precise moment to emerge. From there on out, the whole thing was a bust, and Lament was left rubbing his temples in a way that was meant to be stress relief, but... Well, was not really working.
And, really, he was not sure he wanted to go to the library anymore. Not today, not right now. "Good freaking job." It was unclear who that was meant for, himself or Mandara. He was not even sure if he meant it for himself or Mandara.
Still, he turned tail, forgetting all about the brewing tea and the poor, confused aoide. He was just... going to vanish into the city for as long as he possibly could.
That sounded like a good plan.

A Mad Rush Sotiris meets Glaucon during his escape of the Pantheon.Reyna Crelos Sotiris ran swiftly down the hallways of the Pantheon. He did not wish to be caught or stopped by anyone, especially his family. He was quite certain if he came upon his father or uncle he would be forbidden from leaving. His mother and sister had a way of guilt tripping him in a way no other could. His brother ... he didn't particularly want to think about. He growled quietly under his breath and picked up his pace. The act of actually running felt good, and it did an excellent job of allowing himself to get lost in thoughts that didn't involve his own mixed feelings of failure. Mouse Pachinkorelli It had been a pleasant visit to the Library, and Glaucon was sure he would be returning there again -- to visit with Akakios, to see if he couldn't run into Endiovar, and even simply to immerse himself in all the knowledge packed into the shelves. For now, though... it was time to return to his room and get some sleep. And Eudocia would probably end up cornering him into another acupuncture session. He had left her behind to pick out a book or two he could enjoy in the sanctity of his own quarters, so at least he would have the space to himself for a little while. Ah, and there was the door, just a few more steps away. He stepped forward, reaching out a hand to push it open, unaware of the footsteps thundering in his direction.
Reyna Crelos Escape seemed to be within his grasp. It wouldn't be much further, and he would be outside of the Pantheon entirely. In his haste to be outside, it seemed like the hallways stretched out further before him than they normally did. In response, he pushed himself to run faster. His eyes widened slightly as somewhere fuzzily in the back of his mind he registered that there was someone in front of him. A second later he realized he was going to barrel right into the person if he didn't stop. Sotiris tried to come to a hault as quickly as he could, but his momentum was too great. His attempt to stop simply sent him clumsily tumbling straight into the other man.
Mouse Pachinkorelli Noticing the obstacles ahead had come too slowly to both of them. While Soto realized Glaucon was there before he could take the chance to stop himself, the elder Morph was hardly in a position to change the course of the inevitable, even if he had turned to see the approaching child. With a small noise of surprise his only reaction, the god was sent tumbling backwards into the floor, his cane clattering clear over to the other side of the hallway. "Ssssshhhiiiiit." That had hurt. And now he was inadvertently setting a bad example to boot.
Reyna Crelos " Oh, no!" Sotiris gasped. He moved immediately to help Glaucon to his feet. " So, so, so sorry," he said in earnest, " Did not mean to knock you down. You okay? Are you hurt?" The little godling seemed sincerely concerned. He hadn't meant to hurt anyone, and yet it seemed he had anyway. His gaze fell to the man's cane. He darted over towards it and scooped it up. He offered it back to Glaucon with a tentative wag of his tail. " Be okay now?"
Mouse Pachinkorelli Good to know this wouldn't be a drive-by knockdown. With Soto's help, Glaucon got back to a sitting position, and with his cane in hand was able to stand back up completely. Shaken, yes, but he suffered no lasting damage -- less could be said for the floor, though. A quick look at the space he had feel to revealed that his sharp, rigid wings had left a few scratch marks on the stone... hopefully no one would notice. "I am fine..." he grumbled, "...but you should be more careful. Why are you in such a hurry, anyway?"And furthermore, just who and what was this child? He had a divine aura about him for sure, but looked nothing like any of the other gods Glaucon knew.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris looked down and away as he was scolded a bit for not having watched where he was going. The man had a point, so he wasn't inclined to argue. If it had been his father, he likely would have protested or simply would have refused to listen simply because it was his father.Fortunately enough for Glaucon, the wayward child before him was most certainly not his offspring. He squirmed uncomfortably in place and adjusted his small leather satchel. " I'm leaving," he announced simply with a hint of a petulant pout upon his baby face. " Tired of this place," he went on quietly with a sort of forlorn look.
Mouse Pachinkorelli Glaucon suppressed a sigh -- it looked like the sanctity of his room would have to wait a little longer. Ever since he began exploring the Pantheon again, the story of his life had consisted almost entirely of awkward, uncomfortable run-ins with strangers (or, in Alice's case, ancient ties he was not so sure he wanted to reestablish). But this was, to date, his first encounter with a child, divine or otherwise. He had never been good with children. So, naturally, he said the worst possible thing that could have been said to Sotiris in this situation. "...Do your parents know about this?"
Reyna Crelos A brief look of horror flickered across his face as he worried that the person before him was going to somehow stop him or contact his parents prior to his escape. The look was quickly replaced with stern indignation accompanied by a scowl that belied his youth. In that moment he looked very much like his father. " No," he grumbled, " It is none of their business." He folded his arms across his chest with a dark look, eyes sparking slightly in his annoyance that his family had been brought back into the equation. " I am Guardian, Underworld's eldest son," he added still glowering, " I can take care of myself." He was determined to make certain that statement was true. He glanced away from Glaucon's gaze with a frown, and instead peered over at him surreptitiously with a sidelong glance. If the man had to walk with a cane, that meant it was unlikely he could give chase should he decide to run...
Mouse Pachinkorelli Underworld... This was Underworld's son? Nergal had children? That look Sotiris was giving was definitely reminiscient of him... and the look Glaucon gave back was half flabbergasted and half highly indecisive about what to do. How far from the Pantheon would this child actually manage to run off? Was he that capable of taking care of himself, in spite of appearances? Children were already a puzzle to him. A young god could be a different story entirely. He could use the Geas to make boy into return to his quarters -- but he was just a child, casting a verdict on him would be incredibly severe, and then he would ostensibly have to deal with his father's ire for using godly powers on his son without any prior consent. Or he could do nothing... and be liable for any danger he might end up getting himself into. Glaucon leaned forward on his cane, considering his words. Maybe he could... calm him down and figure out why he was running away? He took a step forward.
Reyna Crelos Sotiris' eyes widened considerably as Glaucon took a step towards him. A thrill of panic shot through him, and without another word he side-stepped around the other god with far more agility than he had exhibited earlier after having crashed into him. He made a mad dash down the hallway and moved as quickly as he possibly could. He very nearly launched himself down a flight of stairs taking them two and three at a time before leaping to the bottom. There was no way Glaucon was going to catch up with him now! Or at least he hoped so.
Mouse Pachinkorelli "Wait --"He clumsily twirled around, hand outstretched towards the tiny fleeing form, and the next second later he made the foolish effort to chase -- keeping his cane off the ground as he tried, with some success, to run after the child. He was not nearly fast enough. And then Sotiris bounded down the stairs, and Glaucon only caught one last green glimpse of him until he disappeared. Well, s**t.
