The Reaper slowly looked up at the two females, moreso at Hel as she completely took the reigns on this. She was also using strange lingo right about now.
"How much are they?" he asked flatly, being more direct.
The demon woman was about to answer Valk, but paused as the quieter Reaper suddenly spoke up. She blinked at the boy then smiled at them both.
"This ring right here is rather plain. For a pair, it'd be 600 seeds. But perhaps I could interest you in something a little more... exuberant?" she said while motioning to one of the other rings that had what appeared to be diamonds encrusted into the band.
600 seeds for two rings that didn't have gems? That was rather expensive. One ring was like double the price of his jacket and it didn't have nearly the same amount of practicality in it.

Even Hel had to wince a bit at that price. Ouch. She wondered if she was about to get a rather annoyed glare from Shun, but she didn’t…yet.
As the demoness tried steering them towards the more exprensive bands, Hel shook her hands dismissively. “Oh, no no…my companion is very much into the idea that ‘simple’ is best…ah…ma’am?” Hel piped up suddenly, pointing at the bands. “Will these bands shift along with a werewolf?” It was very important, okay.

"Oh you don't have to worry about that. We make sure our jewelry is suited for all creatures. A simple enchantment is all it needs to ensure that once put on, it will fit perfectly. No need to come back for a fitting!" the demon smiled.
"Very well. You'll hear from me in the future," Shun said plainly before turning to leave. He had the ring in mind. He had the price. So now he just needed to work up those funds so he could buy them later on.

“Oh, excellent!”
Hel blinked as Shun started to leave, and her eyes widened. Hey wait…! They hadn’t even asked them to be held yet! What if someone came along and took them!? The reaper turned back to the sales associate. “Uh…ya! Um…I would like to put these under the name ah…” Was it safe to use Shun’s name with that mafia connection and all…? Er…she’d use hers. “Brynhildr…Hel…! One ‘L’…ah…also…” The ghoul started to fish around her pockets, and started to deposit some seeds onto the counter.
They clinked as she dropped them on the counter, and then she was going through her stockings and boots next, pulling more out. The ghoul even shook out her sleeves and dumped more on the counter. By the time she was done, she produced around twenty-five seeds. “There! The start of a payment! That is good, ya?”

Shun had begun to leave, but stopped as he heard Hel speaking to the saleswoman some more. Furrowing his brow, he just stared at her as she put them on hold under her name. And then she started to place seeds onto the counter. In an instant, he was there, bringing his hand down onto the pile of seeds and giving the Valkyrie a rather critical look.
"What the hell are you doing?" he asked, not addressing the demon just yet.

Hel made a face of disbelief as Shun put his hand on her pile of seeds.
“Oi!” She cried, reaching to jab a finger right into the grim’s side. “I am helping to hold the rings!” Hel exclaimed, and swatted Shun’s hand away, pushing the seeds towards the demoness now. “I do not want you to lose them because someone else came in and bought them!”

"I'm not letting you pay for them. Put one seed on these rings and they're yours. I'll seek others," he said lowly, twitching as she jabbed him in the side. Dammit.
"I'll put my own cash down," he murmured, "Now take back your money."

“I am not paying for them, Shun!” The ghoul stressed. “I am helping to hold them right now! You do not want to lose them, do you!?” She jabbed his side again.
“You and Mitsu deserve something nice, so no, I will not take my seeds back!”

Shun twitched again, narrowing his eye at the Valkyrie.
"I can hold it on my own. I have money with me. Save your seeds when you want to hold your own rings."

Hel placed a hand on her hips and stared back at Shun challengingly.
“Well, if you have your own seeds, put some down now, ya? Then I will take mine back.” She laughed a bit. “My own rings? I am not certain I will ever get that honor, friend.” She smirked a bit, and drummed her fingers still on the counter’s surface. “So?”

Rather than saying anything, Shun went on and grabbed his wallet to set down some seeds. He didn't bother counting. He just put down whatever he had on hand. Which was somewhere between twenty and thirty seeds.
"There. Now take yours back. Even if you don't get your own rings I'm sure you could find some other use for your money."

The reaper grinned as Shun put some seeds down, and as to not provoke the grim any further (hey, she knew when she was pushing it…sometimes), Hel took her seeds back and placed into her apron pocket. “Okay. Ya…I could spend them on some groceries and make some stew.” The ghoul gave a wave to the sales associate, now that this transaction was finished for the time being.
“I think I am finished here, friend.” With that cat who caught the canary grin.

During all of this, the demon had been standing by, amused with the two younger citizens. When it had settled, she went on and did what she needed to do to put down the boy for the hold.
"Thank you, come again!" she chimed.
"As am I," murmured Shun as he tucked his wallet away and started for the door. He was still eyeing the Valkyrie in a wary manner. Regardless, he was going to need to start doing some oddjobs around town to work up funding. Perhaps he could start trying to repair his standing with the Family for it as well. Granted that was much easier said than done, and it didn't help that he didn't really care too much for it.
But it did have its benefits.

Hel waved, and then trailed after Shun with a spring in her step.
She felt very much accomplished today, even if she had fallen off a brick wall a few times. What could beat out seeing her good friends get engagement rings? Seriously. That was a major victory in her book.
