Clarice sounded like she was speaking from experience. Terrible, terrible experience. Jordan was torn between hysterical laughter and a double facepalm combo. Golems - well, he had checked on whether the tengu golem was wearing underwear, but that had been something else entirely. He took a moment to compose himself so the laughter wouldn't escape halfway through his sentence. "By exotic, I assume you mean traumatizing in new and un-heretofore-thought-of ways?"

It was hard to maintain such an insanely high level of what the ******** for any extended length of time, and as reason slowly returned somewhat to Rep's faculties he tried to assess how to deal with the situation. He considered anger but figured angry denial at this point was sort of pointless and eventually gave up on finding any way to deal with it at all. ******** hell being a hunter was scary.
He completely lost the thread of what was being said however as golems came up. He'd never been in a proper golem as yet outside the training run and trial types so was as yet fully unaware of that traumatic kettle of fish.
Perhaps it was for the best.
He eyed the bag hopelessly and imagined himself trying to discreetly carry such an affront to masculinity.
He gave Clarice a very serious, suspicious look. "Are you taking the mickey here?"

Harrison wasn't sure why you'd want to fondle half the stuff he'd turned into over the course of using golems.
"So...is that dangerous?"
He felt like they'd wandered off-course somewhere in there. He mainly just wanted to know if all this time he should have been using some sort of...runic...parameters...measuring device to keep them from turning into twenty-foot tall aliens, or whatever other pitfalls their superiors had neglected to mention.

She gave Jordan a small, nod, attention returning to the here and now, "That and then some. All I can say is that just because you have it, doesn't mean you should try using it, kay? So really, it's only as dangerous as you make it, Harrison." Gauging their reactions, Clarice wondered if this topic would have been saved for say...Clerise, rather than these three.
"The mickey..." again she nodded, this time more slowly, "...I'm not really sure what that entails. Is it an oral act or...?"

Rep looked like he wanted to cry.
"Its a turn of phrase. It means making fun of us." his tone was less accusatory and more oh-god-please-make-it-stop.
He rubbed his temples. "But I'm guessing you aren't. Which is..just..." reason was completely eluding him and all his denial circuits were on the fritz. He gave her another blank look.
"At least now I won't need all those ******** cold showers."

"No fooling around with the golems," Harrison repeated uncomfortably. "Uh, speaking of which- now that the labs are up...is it okay if I start taking Killer out to the Battledome again? He's been cooped up a while."

"Yeah, uh, got it." Jordan studied the pink bags, trying to keep the dismay from showing on his face as the realization dawned that they were going to have to carry these things. Through the halls of the labs. And find somewhere to put them in the bunker where other people's curiosity wouldn't get them looked at funny. Oh, god. Maybe Robert knew of a closet or a drawer or something where the bags could be stashed until they could be discreetly smuggled back to the dorms.
Harrison's blatant change of subject was a huge relief. "I'd bet that a lot of the minis need exercise," Jordan added helpfully.

Her smile faded at Rep's explanation, hurt flashing across her face. "I'd never make fun of Harrison." Which wasn't exactly reassuring to those who had the misfortune of not being Harrison. "And I'm not joking around here, guy." Clarice's cheeks puffed out as she huffed at the mere thought of him not taking her seriously.
Minipets provided a fortunate distraction, and the assistant smiled and reached over to the side of her desk and picked up a large manila envelope, revealing an ominous sight: a banana and a condom wrapper.
Clarice handed it to Harrison, "Here's the keys to this office and care instructions. I'm going to have Killer moved into here while I'm gone, and you'll be the one taking care if him. Some of the other techs are a bit too interested in his special circumstances. You can take him out to battle, but probably not too often, with the Insanity study, golems are gonna be at a premium for awhile."
She gave the Intermediate a warm smile and continued, "While you're here you can also use my computer, I noticed you spent a lot of time playing games in the library. Most of those have been taken out to replace damaged equipment, but I have a few on here you can play."

He actually felt slightly guilty at the indignant response he got from Clarice, completely missing the very specific word choice. He looked away with an irritable frown and a deferential grunt.
The only thing that brought him out of his minor sulk were the words keys to this office.
He just quietly raised a brow at the computer usage offer.

Harrison did look slightly suspicious at the reassurance that she would never make fun of him specifically. Mostly because it was the kind of thing you said to someone when you were making fun of them.
He took the folder.
"Got it," he said, "I can handle him." Clarice clearly didn't want any repeats of whatever had happened to the lab tech who wrangled Killer into that tank.
He grinned at the mention of the computer. The Boss music came to an abrupt halt, replaced with an excited loop of Victory songs. B0nez kept skipping between them, as if he couldn't decide on one, then played them all at once.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 , B0nez said.
"Yeah, great! Thanks! B0nez has been going nuts without one. We got a strict training regimen."

Jordan didn't miss the visual aids. He took care not to notice them, so as not to remind Clarice of them.
He did notice the wording, but all it got out of him was a faint smirk. That right there was very much Life division: all the pranking and all the very specific disclaimers. He couldn't help being amused by that, even while he made a mental note to avoid annoying Clarice. Not that he would have done so anyway, but there was now extra incentive.
"Training, huh," he said, and grinned. "Rematch sometime?"

With a pleased smile, Clarice continued, "Now, back on the subject of condoms..." she began to reach for the banana.

As inexperienced as he was, he was pretty sure he knew how to work a condom. He cringed as she reached for the banana and wished for a swift death.

Ferros had settled down a little and mostly stopped laughing. The return of cripplingly embarrassing topics set him off again. Jordan considered assuring Clarice that he was quite certain they all knew this already. He wasn't sure it would actually stop her, though. She had been very meticulous about being absolutely sure that everything was covered. ... in a manner of speaking. ...

Harrison was actually interested, in case there was some magic-prevention step he had somehow missed.
Zombie babies, no thanks.
