well... lots of good we all did to plan to arrange to play together. :O or maybe everyone else wasn't planning on that being the point of being together. I had hoped by affiliating with gaia players; i'd find people to play with in game.

Graceangel well... lots of good we all did to plan to arrange to play together. :O or maybe everyone else wasn't planning on that being the point of being together. I had hoped by affiliating with gaia players; i'd find people to play with in game. Even though I'm EU, apologies for that. In others defense, Friday was extremely chaotic, a lot of servers were already full and I was kind of clicking on anything that would let me in. Even then I couldn't enter the game for hours on end. I got the most gameplay on Sunday when the game finally didn't lag or kick me out and that was mostly solo play. Still, I would love to see your ingame screenshots or videos. 3nodding I have barely scratched 10% of the game myself.

I will have to apologize that I didn't take a lot of screenshots. XD Actually, I worked probably HALF the weekend. The good part for me was friday, getting on right away when they launched. Also, when i was home; i found it rather easy to get on. I didn't have a problem with that, but on both saturday and sunday... when i went to go to the field.. i kept being put in the overflow areas. If you ask me, being in overflow is jsut as good as the main map. there are still a lot of people there. maybe they should allow people on the main map to move up to the overflow if they are experiencing too much lag. then that will allow a person not experiencing it to move up to the main map.
Well, were any of you guys on last night for their weekend finale? OH MAN. It was soooo awesome. We had some Jim the Engineer from ANET attending ours in the overflow. biggrin IT WAS AWESOME. We all went to the Norn foothills. They were spawning these blood thirsty champion black moa's. oh man.. it was soooo epic. our server was close to 200k glory by time it was done. i'm wondering what comes of hte glory.
I also wonder if next weekend; will our characters still be there? will we need to make new ones? what about the guild i made?
if the characters are there, will they be reset to level one? many questions.
Also, i'm usually very interested in crafting in most games. since Nalala is a warrior; i opted to go with making weapons in hopes that at some point; i can make my own instead of buying them. I started also with armorsmithing; but i dropped that for cooking.
guys.. with cooking: i need to tell you. VERY EXPENSIVE.

Awesome screen shots and stuff :') I can't wait until the game actually comes out. Although my laptop won't hold it, so I need to...find a solution. Sigh.

Sadly I couldn't see the finale. The beta ended for me at 7 AM and I had to get up early for work today. So I called quits at 2 AM. I'm not sure if our characters will be there. We'll have to find out. I'm sure they'll be erased when the actual game comes out though. Haha I didn't try cooking. I tried Tailoring which I got to level 70 - it was superfun to do! I wasted so many hours on it. I got videos of that as well but it takes forever to upload anything with quality on youtube. gonk I mostly played Elementalist and Necromancer because those were the classes I was doubting with. Turns out I prefer Necromancer. If our characters are erased next beta weekend, I'm testing Mesmer and Engineer.

well last night, jim the engineer told us that he understands that there will likely be a weekend event planned for every weekend between now and release. if that's the case.. and it's all wiped after the end of every weekend.. then i think next weekend maybe i'll either do a sylvari ranger or an asura engineer? lol x3 well.. if they are available..

I had hoped by affiliating with gaia players; i'd find people to play with in game. I think even if we had gone for a meetup and ended up on the same server it would have been tricky as there was no way to manually set channel. This was one of the bigger complaints with functionality, since that meant even parties ended up spread apart, with no way of getting back together. I'm hoping they'll improve that for next time and we can try a little harder. We could also have a topic in this forum for "looking for group". I tried the necro and the guardian this time. I didn't spend as much time playing as I might have, but that is the life of a casual player with minimal attention span. The official faq states that there will be a beta weekend every month or so.

Personally, i think when you are looking at any mmo, you should NEVER go by popular site reviews. Here's the thing with mmo's. Most of them each offer certain aspects that appeal better to various people. Only you know which ones appeal to you more, so you just gotta look into features a game offers and see if that is what you like to do in a game.
I went to guild wars because of the skill building method as well as dynamic content. the lack of a monthly fee kind of helped that as well. ^_^
hmm.... i wonder if maybe due to popularity; they'll increase bwe's from just once a month. with people pre-purchasing just to do that... would be more fair that way.
gah.. you guys... i have such withdrawl. every day since then i just wanna log on so much

I know EXACTLY how you feel Graceangel. I can't stop thinking about how much I want to play the game. Youtube videos aren't enough for me anymore. xD
