I agree with the creation os this quasidependant branch, wich will take care of lager batleships and spacecraft... but fighters, dropship and bombers should be keep under ASDF control, as Tanasha said the best pilots will come out of the ASDF, and the crews from the GN and GA... maybe it could be better if the ships are comanded by the 3 leaders of the branchs, without a four branch coming in, we should keep as few branchs as posible, remeber what hapened when we tried to take on something too big for us

Yeah, Griffin's got the right idea - keep the branches few. Hell, T-boss, are you basically saying that each branch controls its individual assets in the field, but the chain of command leads up to a coalition of generals back home formed of all three branches? 'Cause then I think we're all talking about the same thing.

That was basically what I meant. A committee of the top leaders of each three branches will meet as one to streamline operations.

I guess we are all talking of the same.. so that should be the best way, in fact is simple and straighforward, so the high command will be:

Commander Tanasha (or General Tanasha, acording to the New Ranks system we will implement)
General Jason Delacroix (sorry Jason, I forgot your PC character name crying sweatdrop )
General Tutsumi

Right, so Tanasha is the new head of the Gaian Army....

Er... remind me again what Jason Delacroix and Tutsumi will be in charge of?

Oh, and on another note - Hello everyone.

Essentially? Yes. However, the person at the top of the branch can't be tied to any branch directly without it causing conflict. For that reason they would be agreed upon by the other generals, and not beholden to any of the branches specifically - A branch of one, if you will.

An elected, impartial commander, who is able to view the battlefield in all angles, and with enough knowledge to deply all three branches accordingly.

We need someone like an Eisenhower type.

Agree on the last.... but who?, then that mean with need thre heads of the Branches and a Supreme Commander... any candidates?

it must be somebody whos know a lot of RP, military and of course a person who is active on Gaia a lot

Well as for now Misericordaneo, the 3 of them (jason tanasha and Tutsumi) hold the same authority, they are the head of each branch
PostPosted: Fri Apr 07, 2006 3:30 pm

...so the guild's executive authority will be:

A Supreme Commander and the three heads of the different branches?

So the Supreme Commander will be like a President, in charge of everything?

And the three heads will basically have the same rank and authority...

Basically, that was what I was aiming for.

I was trying to model it after SHAEF, where there was a seperete but equal position on all the major bosses, while there was one person all three can be sure to be a leader.

More like the Adm. of the Navy rank, who commands all the Admirals and such.

Ugh, you guys are losing me here xd

We're very much concentrated on looking at the top right now, which is important for the general question of "Who's driving this thing?" ...but we may be on our way to overdeveloping the top. Currently, the suggestions are that this limited-in-number guild will devote 4 people to the supreme command roles...not to mention the fact that even more people will be delegated to officer roles. We have 3 branches to top it all off, further dividing our working playerbase.

If we're really going to go with this tripod supreme command structure, we're going to need to bring the ranks at which they operate down: The person calling the shots could be the General, but maybe have the 3 under him be Captain rank. From there we can start redesigning our command structure...say one person at each rank below Captain until we reach the enlisteds.

Also, I request that our most active and most thoughtful be the ones in the highest command...if we're going to raise GG back from the dead, we need to have someone who is on often and who can make sound decisions both ICly and OOCly on each of those tripod seats.

Rank structure, I agree that it ends with Captain, because once you're higher than that, they exchange your gun for a binoculars.

My ego tells me I am suitable for the job, but my rational mind says no.

I am on most of the time, though I don't think I make actual sound and rational decisions.

I'm willing to rp at least one more branch, but I will have to check. SInce I am already involve with several rps on Gaia and off it.

Agree with Ayleen... any ideas for a rank list??, I believe the the first rank should be General, and commanders for the 3 branches leaders

also we need to focus on the new tread for recruitment and outpost RP base... we need to fix this situaiton about the high command ASAP

everyone agree with this tripod system?

I certainly agree with Ai Leen (y'know, your name doesn't lend itself well to shortening or nicknames. Leen-Leen? sweatdrop ) in the concerns about a small, inactive playerbase. I have to wonder whether we should double up on characters or something... have a general unwritten rule be that folks RP in two branches with two separate characters?

As for the tripod system, I'm all for it. Lord knows it's better than a vague, unfocused chain of command. sweatdrop
