Tempest felt her heart sink for Ka Valko. Her ears fell against her skull as she shook her head giving a gentle sigh. "You shouldn't think like that, Ka. Your parents love you. They may have more children, but they can never replace you." She tried to face him in an attempt to make him look her in the eyes, her nostrils flaring as she gave a gentle snort. "You should still visit. No matter what, they are your parents." The mare realized that she may sound slightly harsh and ungrateful. It was wrong of her to do that to him for she probably had no clue what his life was for him. She shook her head and gave a bit of a smile in apology. "But for what it's worth, I'm glad you were the one to find me in the storm...and I'm glad you're here too." She leaned forward brushing her nose against his cheek ever so gently as if in affection and in thanks. She then looked away feeling her cheeks redden thankful for her dark coat.

Ka looked at her in stunned wonder. How could anyone be so optimistic. Tears graced his face for a moment. She had known a deep love with her family. He wished he had had the chance to be in a normal family. "Thank you Tempest." he said. He blushed rather hard too when she brushed his cheek. Her nose was so soft. Just at that tender moment. Kai the Dufus chose to gallop right by. Quickly chased by giggling and laughing cousins. "Well thats one way to ruin a moment." Ka said as he looked over just in time to see Kai cartwheel over a tree root swiftly followed by a gold and black stallion who couldn't stop in time. The purple one was smart and stayed in the air. 'Ugh...young stallions."

Tempest gave a gentle snort feeling the intimacy between the two of them. "You're welcome, Ka..." She was halfway glad to hear her brother and two cousins running past them after one another. Hopefully Kai would remember the tree root... which by the sound of thudding and arguing between the two he probably didn't. Her ears flicked hearing the wing beats of the other cousin. The trio was always out and about causing mischief among the herd. At Ka's comment, she giggled a little. "Kai and I are the same age you know. Would that make me a young mare?" Tempest gave a gentle snort as if teasing him of her status.

"Mares mature much faster." Ka nodded. "It has almost always been so. Think back? Have there been any stallions that understand responsibly from a young age in your herd?" Ka sniggered. "Whereas once a mare grows to full size she is usually much calmer and better under control. Like you...compared to that bunch of glorious upstarts." Then looking over he giggled. "I think they are stuck in a knot. Do they do that quite frequently? It might be a good idea for me to install tree roots around my tree that way I'll always know when your brother is sneaking up on me."

"I had never really thought about that, Ka. Does that mean you were like that when you were much younger?" This made Tempest think about how old Ka actually was. He didn't seem old but he didn't have that youthful appearance about him either...like he had been travelling for quite some time. Which meant he probably hadn't seen his family in that amount of time either. Her heart felt saddened for her Guardian, but it seemed as though he didn't let it bother him too much outwardly. Tempest made sure to possibly do more research on Ka's family...and maybe even convince him to take her there so she could experience everything for herself. "Not all mares are like that though. My mother is still as wild as she can be, but she never forgets how to be a mother." Tempest beamed with a little pride at her dam thinking on all the times Kainda gave most of the males in the herd hell. At Ka's question, she couldn't help but laugh. "Oh yes. This happens on a daily basis mostly. Ka! You're being so mean! Besides tree roots automatically find my brother and my dad so you'd be safe either way." However the idea did amuse the mare as she began to laugh quite loudly at the thought of Ka being protected by many a tree root as her brother and father fall prey to the ancient tree "predators". She shook her head a little hearing the sound of her father's and mother's footfalls as if investigating what the three cousins got themselves into. "Uh oh. I hear the parents..." Tempest whispered still giggling all the while.

"I don't know if I ever got the chance to be immature. Your mother is a powerful lady. I wouldn't want her mad at me."

Ka pricked up his ears. She had known her parents were there before he had. What a fascinating and amazing creature she was. He ducked his head respectfully at her dark father and bright mother. What an interesting mix those two were and evidently it was a good mix well not counting Kai who was still entwined with his rather black mouthed cousin. "They seem like an excellent pair." He said. He watched as Tide flicked his black tail posessively over his mate's orange rear.

Tempest gave a brief laugh shaking her head, ears flicking forward. Indeed but my mother has become softer since being with my father. She's more merciful...well to those she actually likes. She quickly whispered before greeting her parents with a whinny. Tempest was met by a gentle nudge from her mother's snout on her cheek, the orange mare looking toward Ka with a neutral stare before continuing on with her mate. Tempest was never prouder at that moment then when her parents strode in all tall and proud....if only the "enemy" was more valiant than her brother and cousin. The mare chuckled knowing that they would be in for it definitely.

"I want to be like them someday." Tempest suddenly said out of nowhere staring in the direction of her parents as they seemed to speak to the younger stallions. Tempest smiled - even in her eyes. "They love each other so unconditionally...they're so supportive of each other as well...they work together like a team and even though they argue, they never go to bed angry. I would be lucky to find a mate for me that's half of them...." Tempest trailed off her train of thought feeling a little emotional. 'But I'm blind...No stallion would want a mare that couldn't fight or help with foals or help scout...' Tempest withheld her sighs before stretching. "Well that's it for the most part, Ka. You can go if you like since I'm okay...if I need you, I will have word sent for you." The mare turned her head using her nostrils to find his scent and ergo him eventually planting a gentle nuzzle on his cheek and neck before turning back to head toward her bed. Oddly Tempest started to feel tired.

"Which would be you, your father and your sibling right?" Ka snickered a bit. "Your parents do everything with such grace and poise..minus the odd tree root that there is nothing more noble then wanting to be like them. Everything they do is out of love, sometimes pointy love but love nonetheless. There will be an awesome stallion out there for you somewhere who will slither underneath the orange and black dreadguard over there."

Ka nodded at her Mother as the orange mare passed him. Yah no messing with her, even with a ten foot sharp stick pfft. He looked Tempest over. "Okay, you do look rather tired. Which way did the imbeci...I mean relatives go? I don't want to be clobbered for being in the way."
