"Oooo an armlet! Neat! Yea yea, then we can be all 'Look what I made, isn't it just a scream?'" Mei grinned as her small fingers worked quickly to shape the brooch a little bit more. She would stop for a brief moment to examine her work then fiddle a little bit more. The ghoul grinned as Reiko approached them. "Rei Rei! You made it. Good." Shaking her head, she brushed aside the paper charm upon her brow. Mumbling lightly as it fell into her eye again. Some days it was a nuisance but she needed it to uh.....live. "Course we don't mind." She kicked her ankle crossed feet out once more before pulling them back against the stone slab. A few more grunts and a couple ouchies mumbled as Mei continued to work. Finally it seemed like she was happy enough with her work to place the constructed brooch down upon the velvet bag across her lap and tuck the tool back inside it. She glanced to the instructor briefly wondering what was next.

Julian hadn't minded the owl staring at him, but he was surprised when she moved away from her reaper and sat next to him instead, staring. The demon's eyebrows rose a little in curiosity, as he had actually never really met a reaper beside Cora, especially not one with a bird familiar. Oh, he'd seen a few others around school, but he'd never actually interacted with one in any way, shape, or form. And he hadn't seen Cora in a while, so it wasn't like he learned much about them. Mostly just about her, she was just as pushy and nosy as Sin was. Then again, maybe that was just how certain ghouls were.
When the owl continued to stare at him, he tilted his head to one side and gave her a soft, friendly twitter. It was different from the sound he made in his natural form but similar enough to be recognizable. His attention turned back to Lumi when she replied to his comments/questions. "That's okay, when I first got here... the only friends I had I met by being in a class with one, ran into another on the school roof, one of them caught me in the dorms and thought I was a lost monster instead of a demon, and one of them I almost dropped a book on in the library," he replied, reaching up to rub at the back of his neck. In retrospect, he'd met his friends in really strange and awkward ways. Then again, his relationships with half of them also seemed to be rather strange and awkward. Ah well.
"I am curious if they're going to just give us FEAR-embued gems... If they're as special to the clan as Ylaria makes them out to be, I sorta think they wouldn't just give them away to us..." But then again, he could always be wrong.

After reading the instructions, Morrigan decided to get to work. Once done, she would socialize. It was time to get into serious mode and make this armlet. The only thing she knew for sure was that she didn't want a plain, boring old armlet. She wanted something that had a design to it, an element or flair that represented her as its creator. Would such a thing be allowed or would the instructor find offense to it? Even with the worry of getting into trouble, she decided to make the armlet true to herself.
The first thing she did was use the wire cutters to cut a length of wire to use as the armlet itself. It took a bit more effort and strength than she had imagined to cut through the wire but she managed it fine enough. Next, she used a pair of pliers to determine the basic shape and design of the armlet. For the top, she shaped the wire into the form of a heart. For the bottom, she curved the wire so that it made a bit of a spiral. Lastly, she shaped the wire into a type of cuff so that it can could fit on an arm.
It might not have been even and to any skilled jewelcrafter, enough to make them cringe, but to Morrigan, it was like the holy grail. She had never made anything by hand before, always buying everything she needed so this filled her with pride. In fact, she couldn't remember any other time in her life that she was actually proud of something she had done. It really wasn't bad for a first attempt and it was definitely an item she'd wear! That had to mean something, right? It was rough and amateurish, but still pretty. She hugged the small item to her chest before cradling it delicately in her hands.
Never had she felt so happy.

Adiyan smiled as Tess came over to join him and glad for the company as he would be less nervous about his surroundings. "Thank you, Tess," he quietly answered as he tucked his tail underneath himself were it wouldn't make any sounds if it wagged to loudly as he wouldn't want that at all. "Yours is quite lovely as well and it will look good in your hair as well," Adiyan added still talking softly as not to disturb the rest of the class or even there teacher. Chuckling softly as he saw Tess try and see if Imryn would come over and he just smiled as he wouldn't mind if she came over either. Huni Pi That is total fine with me. Katarina Everard Come and join us if you want to.

Umi came into the room and sat down. She looked at the kit that she received and looked inside of it.
She took out all the contents and started to work on making the jewerley. Some people may look at the instuctions and say that they are easy to understand, but not to someone with a mind like Umi. Umi sighed and tryed to sneak a peek at what the other students were doing.
She hated written instructions she perferred watching someone doing it first. She closed her eyes and breathed in slowly. I can do this.
She took her time and read each instruction more than once and made sure she did it correctly. She looked up from her desk to see that a hour had passed and that most of the students were finished with theres. She got back to work
Two and a half hours later and many cuts later she was finally done. "OMG" She was so happy that she just wanted to jump up and down and run around the room. She didn't want to distract the other students and stayed here she was.

West practically spilled into the classroom, straightening his clothing and looking around warily as he took a seat. This place was weird. It had been the only word he could come up with to describe the Isle of Death, and it still applied. This morning he had wandered into a hallway full of mirrors and had been forced to fight a twin of himself (which had been pretty cool) and some hunter (which had not been cool at all). Now, he had to... make jewelry. Peh. Yes, he had signed up for this class. No, he had not done so to make a--he looked in the pouch he had been handed, wrinkling his nose at the ring schematics--damned sparkly ring. He had wanted to show these horsemen that the s**t they had pulled at their trial had not been welcome, but all it seemed he had been able to do since he had arrived was run into more of that s**t. He still had some fight left in him though. West would always have fight. The boil glared at Ylaria as he dumped his pouch out on the table next to Demi. "So," he sighed as he picked up the pliers and started carefully bending his wire, "Phos. Is that yer new stage name'r somethin'? Startin' a band?"Kit contains: Gold wire, ring instructions

Reiko laughed. "Alright then," she said, adjusting to a more comfortable sitting position as she began to work the metal carefully into the shape of a necklace. It wasn't difficult, in fact it seemed almost too easy, but she followed the schematyics and ended up with a serviceable necklace. "Hmm, I hope that whatever else we do, these go well with white and red-brown," she said, laughing a bit. "Since I don't wear many other colors."
She looked over the class now that she was done, and spotted Morrigan. She smiled and waved to the imp demon, feeling rather accomplished.

Unfortunately, Ev wasn't quite sure how the tool provided worked. She'd never seen something like it before! Thus, she began to hold it in various odd positions, before her fingers held onto either handle.. feeling a bit awkward of the stretch it naturally gave her hands. But upon glancing over at Kettil to see how he was doing it, she began to give it a go too!
But a hairpin... hm.. They were so versatile. What shape should she make? Kettil thankfully brought her out of the puzzled state, making a light smile grace her features, "Oh, what are you making then, Kettil?" she asked curiously, before glancing at the ghoul on the other side, offering her a polite smile as well.

Tyalessa had slightly zoned out for a few moments there, only noticing it when it was time to create some form of clasp for the necklace. Up till then she had been doing swirls with the gold wire, since its so soft it was easy to snap of with the snap-snap thingy, something she had not seen till that point and only by glancing at others did she learn how to use them. Somehow with all the swirlling her sight had become less focused and what she had been doing now was so systematic, she just left into a daydream. However now the finishing touch had to be created, a faulty clasp would mean that the necklace would continually fall off the wearer. By twisting one end around in on itself, creating a small hole, all Essa had to do was a strong hook. After doing and then redoing due to a mistake, she had managed to complete a weirdly shaped hook that managed to stay in the hole when needed. But it was the only thing Essa didnt like about her new creation, the clasp was so oddly shaped due to a few mistakes and how soft the gold was made mistakes very easy to make. But at last the necklace was done, and for a newbie at making anything Essa can atleast wear it with pride one day

Luidaeg payed rapt attention to the instructor. Having arrived to the class moments before it started, he did not have a prime seat at the front, but he still had a decent view, thanks to his sharp eyes used to peering through sometimes murky water. He cared not a bit that she was obviously talking down to them, they were quite ignorant compared to her in this particular instance, after all. He took his kit with barely contained eagerness, opening it to find some copper wire, his jewelry crafting tool, and the pattern for a bracelet. He had been hoping for silver wire, as it was his favorite metal, but was not entirely displeased with his results.
He took the copper wire and began to meticulously follow the pattern he had been given. It was fairly simple, as befit a beginner's class, but still surprisingly elegant. Or perhaps not to surprisingly, given the import of jewelry and gems in particular to this culture. While working on his assigned piece, ideas began to pop into his head for other pieces he might make on his own later, or perhaps if they were given a more free-form assignment at some point. One particular idea, of silver wire woven around and around in seemingly endless waves, was particularly appealing to him, and he vowed to write the idea down as soon as he returned to the dorms so he wouldn't forget.

Ace was by no means late for class! You just didn't see him come in. Demons are elusive like that and you gotta be quick and stealthy to be a master at cheating in card games. The reason that Ace signed up for a jewelmaking class in the first place was in the title itself. Being exposed to precious metals was exciting for him even if it meant making ghoulish decorations. Whatever, he didn't care about that, rich boils could wear jewelry too if they wanted. When he'd sneaked his way into class (on time mind you), he was just as weary as he had been following orientation when that Wrath demon noticed him. Unfortunately said wrath demon was already here in class so Ace proceeded with caution. For all he knew he could've been a swell guy. Seemed to like a pinkish sort of red anyway right?
The classroom setup was not conducive to sneaking though as he would find out. The steps across from the teacher would provide him with very linear options. Deciding that if he could win the favor of his teacher she may or may not let him get closer to touching those beautiful ores. And yes I do mean the rocks, gutterbrain. Ylaria... what a pretty name. Like a really respectable showgirl who in the movies ended up being the brains behind every heist. Listening to her talk about the material as more than just pretty stuff made his heart swoon.
When it was Ace's turn to grab some supply he found himself lucky as usual when he plucked the strings of chance and received a gold strand in return. Ace was all about the gold, his favorite color next to blue. Oh sapphire and gold were just beautiful together. Not as pretty as diamond maybe, but diamonds were a ghoul's best friend, and not so much his. Perhaps.. a little.
Twisting and turning the wire together Ace formed a janky looking spade out of the wire. "Ah, no other mineral can look as fine as you," the demon sneered at his creation. He wasn't... exactly sure what he had made. Some sort of pin but for what use he didn't know. Oh well, maybe he could sell it later? Surely death didn't want to keep these cheap things if they provided some basic materials, at least according to their standards.

Aurian bent her attention to the schematics, reading slowly through the instructions. It would be best, she thought, if she knew exactly what she was doing before she started. The roll of gold wire was large, but not endless. Too many mistakes and she'd be left with nothing useable at all. Once she thought she had a good grasp on the concepts, Aurian took a few minutes to look around the class and see how others were doing. A confidence burst couldn't hurt at this stage. Or hat was the idea, at least. Seeing that a pink-haired ghoul nearby was already finished the first stage had Aurian's stomach dropping. "That looks really good," she whispered to the ghoul. A demon, she realised, noting the black horns peeking out of her hair. The pink-haired demon had fashioned the wire into a spiralling armlet with a heart design at the top. Aurian was kind of dreading her own attempt now, but that didn't stop her from appreciating pretty work when she saw it.

This was what Sabine had been waiting for, the reason she'd picked out the Death Island: jewelry. The vampire was practically wriggling in her seat before class and when the instructor began to talk she did a silent, excited little clap. This of course changed when the it was implied that her understanding of jewelry was simple.
Sabine had come in intending to the whole respectful good behavior thing, but seriously? If this dried up old boo-ta didn't understand that there was nothing simple about looking this good? Whatevs.
Rolling her eyes with a soft little scoff, the redhead impatiently snatched her jewel kit, "This better not be the cheap stuff, creepsta."
It was copper.

Hel was actually excited. Granted, it didn’t show on her face, but she really was genuinely excited. She loved doing crafting with her hands, and learning to do something as refined as jewelry would be a challenge that she was looking forward to. Thus as she seated herself near Mitsu at the start of class, and then was instructed to get a kit, she went up to the front and picked it up. It even brought a brief, soft smile to her face. Until she saw Sabine. Damn. She was just everywhere. Oh well. As Hel made her way back to her seat though, it was the sight of another familiar face that made her pause. Was…was that West…in…in a Jewelry crafting class? Hel took a few steps back, and then just stared at him, holding her kit in her hands, trying to wrap her mind around this. Not saying it was a bad thing just uh…surprising…that’s all. “… Huh. I thought you would be at the Isle of War right about now, West.” Hel finally spoke up, giving a nod to him in a delayed greeting. lizbot "This better not be the cheap stuff, creepsta." Ylaria couldn't help it. She laughed so hard that she had to momentarily excuse herself from the room. When she returned, she wouldn't speak of the incident, slightly ashamed that she was unable to contain herself in at least a pseudo-respectful manner.
