I'm one nightmare....

Yuzuki Yukimura

Normally, Yuzuki would have concidered that last comment rather arrogent, assuming that your clan was the strongest and most capable about all others was a foolish and arrogent thing to suggest. Though, Yuzuki got the impression that this girl wasn't quiet to that extreme, maybe she was just hoping to avoid any unnecessary boosting or perhaps she was just curious about the knowledge of some stigma that surrounded her clan. Yuzuki's head tucked ever-so slightly into her chest before answering. "I have heard of, your clan, but I don't actually know about your clan." Yuzuki decided to approach this with some level of diplomacy and skirted around what might become a rather inflated chestpounding confrontation. You never knew with some of these clans and their kin. Some of them were rather... aggressive... when dealing with such things. Then again, perhaps she was hoping against Yuzuki knowing her clan name. Trying to see if she was already and enemy before anything ever even began.
"May I satisfy a curiousity: Are we the only members of the squad here, and... do you have any idea to whom we are getting for a Jonin?"
Yuzuki was starting to pick at a brain, one with perhaps far more knowledge then her own, she was said to be placed in a squad, so did that mean that she was apart of something newly forged or something that was already there and she was just mixed in to fill a gap. As for the Jonin, leadership was important, so she wanted to know whom she was going to have to take up the slack for when it came to the strategies for the group. She heard that Jonin were notoriously unproductive when it came to the squads. Either being utterly useless or they just shoved the responsibilities that they were supposed to be taking on to the newer genin as a form of Hazing.
Jonin could be a bunch of gits...

Kori Shirayuki

A cold breeze just rolled in.....

Kori sighed in relief. If she didn't know about it then she probably wouldn't look down on her for her heritage. She didn't have many friends being a Yuki clan girl, but maybe this girl could be a first. She had never had another friend that was female before besides her sister and mother. She shrugged at her question.
"I'm not sure as of now. We might get the same jounin I had before or we might have a new one. As for it just being us, I think it might just be. The note didn't mention anyone else. Sorry. I don't know a whole lot."
She really hadn't had enough time to make a connection with any of her teammates except Rei and even that was brief. A new sensei and a new teammate may be good for her.
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

I'm one nightmare....

Yuzuki Yukimura

"It seems that the Raikage likes to treat us like mushrooms... he keeps us in the dark and feeds us s**t all day." Yuzuki replied, giving an exasperated sigh. So, they had no idea to whom they were supposed to be reporting too, and they were stuck until they were told. Yuzuki closed her eyes for a moment in thought before opening them again. "Well, I guess until we learn of what is to become of us, we could train for a while? My Taijutsu needs a lot of work, and there is nothing wrong with increasing my arsonal of other jutsu either." Yuzuki sweat dropped a little bit... actually, she really need to fill out her ninjutsu and genjutsu as much as she needed to work on her taijutsu. She didn't have a lot going for her right now, more or less she had a few things to her name. Two genjutsu and one ninjutsu. Her weapon handling was poor at best and her fighting style was just as piss poor. Oh well. No time like the present. Maybe Kori would like to join her? If she was here previous she probably had some time that she set up for herself in order to train. It would be an opertunity to see just what sort of fighter Kori was too. Yuzuki tried to be a balanced fighter, but unfortunatly she lacked a lot of Long ranged abilities that she was hoping for. Maybe the Raikage would teach her something a little later? For now though, she supposed she could work on those handfulls of previously purchased scrolls that had done nothing but collect dust until now. And ho~boy... there were a lot of those. Hell, if it wasn't for her lack of chakra control then she would be set for a while. Unfortunatly things were never that easy for her. At least she graduated this year... She supposed that she got the hang of things after soo long in the academy... either that or they were just fed up with her attempts and passed her out of either annoyance or pity.
"By the way... what do you specialize in?"

Kori Shirayuki

A cold breeze just rolled in.....

Kori laughed. It seemed Yuzuki didn't like the Raikage anymore than she did. "Well I'm glad we can agree on something. How did he address you?"
Kori shrugged. Training sounded like a good idea. She could get a feel for her abilities and perhaps learn something from her as well. She only had one genjutsu herself and she would like to improve it or learn others. "I can spar with you if you want, and do anything else you want to practice in. As for what I specialize in........"
Kori stepped out onto the lake, walking on the water with chakra being forced onto her feet. A few yards out, she turned and looked towards Yuzuki, marking her position. She made a single handsign and the water around her began to swirl and rise up around her. She focused more and more and the water began to take a snake like shape. Her face scrunched up in concentration and flicked her hand forward towards Yuzuki. The snake slithered quickly through the air, making its way to the shore. About a few feet from Yuzuki, it seemed to lose shape and force and splashed to the ground, just shy of the cloaked girl. Making her way back to shore, Kori sighed. "Damn.....That was the first time I've tried that, but I thought I had more control over it."
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

I'm one nightmare....

Yuzuki Yukimura

"He thought I was a stripper..." She replied with a dark undertone. Yuzuki's eyes narrowed slightly as she watched the water snake come towards her. This girl was certainly going for a first impression. Yuzuki was playing it cool though, knowing that her jutsu list was relatively short after just coming from the academy, she prepared to body flicker and cast a jutsu, however at the abrupt and suddenly broke apart. Yuzuki's face deadpanned and she looked down at the puddle that was the water snake.
"Interesting." She looked back up at the girl. "Perhaps we will have the opertunity to spare a little later, I'm fairly fresh from the academy so I would perfer to build up my jutsu first. We'll spare... though I'll take a raincheck for now."
Yuzuki watched for a while as Kori played in the water to get her water snake to work right. So... this girl was an elementalist. That could prove most interesting. Deciding to train too, she took a slightly different route than Kori and decided to work on something a little more... defensive.

Perhaps the most important thing about being a genjutsuist isn’t about making the genjutsu, no… it was about getting out of one. Yuzuki closed her eyes and focused on the brain and its networking. She mentally ran through her Gyri and her Sulci regions of her brain and began tracing through them with slow accuracy. The frontal lobe was responsible for the thought processes, behaviour, personality and emotions. Thought this would likely not be touched on all that much, there was always the possibility that the emotional impulse that could trigger the feelings ranging from unease to euphoria. It could be used in tangent with parietal lobe, the section of the brain that was responsible for the bodies sensations, visual and spatial perception. This was the area most targeted by the Genjutsuist. By tapping into the stimuli that causes impulses to the rest of the body, with slight chakra pressures and manipulations the brains chemistry and cause the victim to sense things that aren’t there, to smell, touch and otherwise experience things that merely and illusion of the senses. Along with this the other important part of the brain that was always if not usually affected was the Temporal part of the brain that was linked to hearing, understanding, speech and language. If your going to put anyone under any sort of genjutsu with sound or auditory, this is an important, but often over looked section of the organ for those are just starting off in the craft. Finally the Occipital lobe was for the vision, the most commonly assaulted aspect of the brain. Yuzuki ran though her brain with the feeling of her chakra, she memorized and mapped every convolution and fissure of her brain. She would know when her mind was being infiltrated after this. Spending a long time in silent contemplation as she mapped and charted the recesses of her own mind. She could visualize the chakra flow of her body and took some time to get even more intimately familiar with her own chakra flow, by doing this, not only could she be able to identify when she was trapped in a genjutsu, she would be able to easily identify where the chakra was infiltrating and how to best remove it. She understood the flow of chakra on the brain perhaps better than almost everyone spare the medical ninja whom rivalled their level of chakra control. If she was placed under a genjutsu, it would have been easier for her to actually be able to learn this, as she could experience things first hand and work to push it away. Sadly, it seemed that genjutsuists were a dying breed in the ninja world. She supposed that would make her a prize of sorts, maybe even a rare gem in the community. She instead practiced making chakra neurons of her own that, instead of putting her under a genjutsu, would rap around the invading offenders and then neutralize them, possibly even reverse the genjutsu to some extend and actually give the illusion that she was still there, only… not? Perhaps it was a little too complicated to be thinking about when your trying to get the actual premise with this ability. She continued to practice weaving and pulling her chakra to match what she was wanting to do with it. Yuzuki brought her hands together and focused on her chakra and aura, she closed her eyes and concentrated on chemicals being given off in her mind. After a few moments of concentration she felt the strings of chakra that she imagined infiltrated her aura and weaved into her brain. She did this by studying her own weaving and from her own experiences, she knew what she was looking for when she needed to probe her own brain for such invasion. She had to concentrate till she traced the strings to the points around her cerebellum, the thalamus, hypothalamus and the cerebrum. She traced them and started to practice unweaving them one at a time. Her manipulations were unfamiliar and sloppy at first, but the more she untwisted and reversed the weave of her own genjutsu strings the more she understood how it was being locked into the brain. She knew, in a way, but there was always a difference between the way it was weaved into the brain for performing the jutsu, and then there was the opposite were it was unwoven to break it. The cerebrum was the first to be unwoven, twisting the reversed way of how it was coating the brain. From there she targeted the thalamus, she severed and pulled away the influence from the foreign chakra infiltration, the task, though seemed long and tedious in Yuzuki’s mind wasn’t all that long in the real world. Her face held concentration, one by one the chakra network was unwoven, severed and cast away from her sphere of influence.

With a breif wind that tossled her hair from the success of the genjutsu based unbinding, Yuzuki slowly opened her eyes. She felt a little more superior, having been able to complete something already. Though admittadly, it wasn't hard to master something that you had a good, firm foundation on. She looked over at Kori again. She could be a good rival for her, someone to modivate her to learn more and faster, someone who could challange and push her limits as well so that she wouldn't be left behind again. Yes, this girl would make a good rival to set a bench mark at. After a while, they could have their spare, and she would likely wish to use it for a point of reference for their accomplishments. "After you learn your little wet worm attack, shall we go onto something Taijutsu based? Mine needs a lot of work." Then, perhaps the girl could use Yuzuki to her advantage too, what better way to learn how to get out of a genjutsu then be placed under one and learn by trail and error how to get out of it. If she didn't already know how.

.... you won't wake up from.

Yuichi Shizen

Entering into the area at a fast pace a tall blue hair boy moved easily from one rock face to the next. Easily climbing the large platau he had been told to meet his new team mates at. Seemed easy enough show up wave smile, train a bit. No problem at all.

Arriving at the top of the platau the boy used a little extra burst of speed to get above the cliff face, sliding to a stop once hed landed. With a deep breath he stood up looking around the platau. As expected there were two people there, both girls, both practicing some new jutsu of some sort. One seemed to be practicing some water based attack, while the other was... well he wasn't quite sure, it was probably genjutsu based because she didn't seem to be doing an aweful lot of moving.

Already he could tell one girl used the water element, which was interesting. He would have to come up with ways to combine with her techniques to boost their effectiveness. Though at the moment she seemed to be having an issue with her jutsu.

Adjusting his jacket and making sure he looked decent he took a deep breath, "Um, hi I'm Yuichi Shizen." he introduced himself with a smile. Though to be honest he didn't really think his name would be a welcome one. None the less they needed to know his name if they didn't already.

Thinking for a moment he looked to the blue haired girl. "Um If I may, I think you would have better luck if you used a more relaxed and flowing motion." he said scratching his head. "Water isn't something you can just throw, its better to let it build momentum as a whole so it doesnt break apart... thats just my thoughts on it though, I don't use water style." he said with a grin.

Yuzuki was waiting for Kori to answer her when she heard some moving stones from behind her and to her right. She picked her head up and looked over her shoulder at a boy with blue hair coming towards them. Hmm... lets see, she had blue hair, Kori had blue hair and now this boy had blue hair. If he was coming to join their little party they could call themselves the 'Blue Haired Brusers' or something like that. Maybe the Raikage was obsessive compulsive and was placing like colors together? He certainly was an odd little git, it wouldn't surprise her at that point. Yuzuki's mismatched eyes slowly followed the new arrival as he continued to approach them. She couldn't help but smirk a little under her mask while he adjusted his jacket a bit, she assumed that it was either that he was hoping to make a good impression. or he was going to be trying groom himself to try and attract the members of the opposite gender. When he introduced himself, Yuzuki paused for a moment before giving a rather shallow but acknowledging bob of her head.

She had heard of his father, the Traitor of the Lightning. The man was executed for his treason, it was a hard lesson for all those whom had either threw their lot in with the revolt, or those whom had thought about such an act of defience. Herself included. She could empathize with the boys father in some way. She didn't like being under the thumb of the Raikage either. Though his methods were botched, and he ended up biting the big one... he still died trying to claw to a position above his station and she could respect that. She just thought that he was a bit of a dumbass for going on the way he did. It was easy to critise the actions from the outside, but she would have held out, got into a better political situation and then worked to topple him after corrupt his support and then go for the Coup de ta. Granted, she had taken that sort of outcome as a lesson well learned. She knew what not to do in her future situation. Then again, she wasn't here to take the rank of Raikage, but to overshadow it.

"Yuzuki Yukimura." Yuzuki replied slowly as she continued to watch the boy. Her face was starting to sour as she listened to the advice that this boy was freely handing out. She hoped that this wasn't a sign of the arrogence of a man who had his life handed to him with little work. Oh well, she would have to see whether or not he was really like that. She closed her eyes again and waited to see what Kori's response would be to this guy. She would likely just sit back for a while and get a better feeling for these two before she made any sort of decision or judgement of what these two were like in her mind and where she placed them in the long run.

Kori Shirayuki

A cold breeze just rolled in.....

Kori nodded understandingly. That damned kage loved to woo her with blue hair jokes and curvy notations all the time. Each one was met with icy retorts and cold glares to which the man either shrugged and continued his business or feigned fear and looked away, smiling all the while. God, she disliked that man......though he was the one that encouraged her to learn some of her jutsu. He had even taught her her first water jutsu, giving her advice and coaxing her through the motions. The water was to be an element that flowed along at its own pace, not to be controlled by another. Though if one was careful, one could control which way the water flowed. Direction, was the only thing he had explained, is what governed water jutsu in his mind. From there Kori had to figure out how to command the water to come to her will and direct it in any way she saw fit.
This jutsu was no different though, looking back on things, she had been trying to control the water too much as she was trying hard to make an impression. Instead, she flipped her hand up in the handseal from before and the water flowed upward and outward towards a tree near the girls in a different, more flowing manner. This way, the water looked more uncontrolled and violent. The snake head crashed into the tree and the force knocked it slightly from the ground, causing the whole trunk to tilt dangerously over. The rest of the roots managed to halt the wood's timbering movement and the tree was left half pushed out of the ground. She smirked over in Yuzuki's direction. Wet worm attack indeed.
Before she had time to respond to her friend, a boy with blue hair slid into view from the cliff side. His adjustment of his jacket earned him a huff from Kori. She disliked most men and boys. This one obviously seemed full of himself if he though he could impress them. His introduction sparked a memory of an earlier occurrence. Her sister had mentioned this boy's father and his deeds. Was this one trust worthy? He didn't look too bad despite his arrogant appearance though this could be just a farce in an attempt to get close to them. If Kori knew from experience, it was that the closer you were to someone, the more it cuts deep when they betray you. She could thank her father for that lesson.
His introduction was fine and Kori nodded afte Yuzuki. "Kori Shirayuki. His advice, however, was met with a roll of Kori's eyes. "Wow. Really?" Her retort spat daggers of spite to the boy and it was clear in her tone of voice. Was he trying to tell her how to do her jutsu? And he doesn't even use water style?!
"So let me ask you, O great jutsu expert, do you have any other blatantly obvious tips for me before I continue?" If there was one thing Kori hated, it had to be people telling her how to do something she was clearly the more knowledgeable about.
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

Yuichi Shizen

Yuichi nodded to Yuzuki, but winced at kori's harsh words as if hed been hit by a kunai. "Well I was just trying to be helpful, I read some books on water style... I figured I could at least try to be helpful." he said pressing his pointer fingers together.

Just great I just got here and already I made some one mad, great start yuichi... he thought to himself. With a sigh he pointed at the treee she nearly knocked over. "I... guess I'll be over here then... minding my own business..." he said before walking slowly, and carefully lest he do something else to piss her off, toward the tree.

He checked his credentials quickly, making sure to keep an inventory of his tools. His shurikan were on his right behind his waist, but he had no kunai. Behind his waist were two trenchknives. Well worn and secured easily right beneath the edge of his jacket. After all an enemy getting their hands on them would be a really bad turn of events. Especially since they were the last gift he had received from his father. The last gift before he was executed.

Once he was there he took a deep breath. He was in the training grounds, might as well get in some training. Seemed thats what the others were doing anyway. So placing his palm on the trunk of the tree he exerted a small amount of pressure and sent a slight shock toward the tree... whcih went badly and he felt the vibrating feeling of a small dose of electricity running through his hand. It had been extremely small so it was only really enough to make him cautious. However it also gave him an amazing idea... that could also end up just being really stupid.

He had heard of medical treatments using electrical shocks to revitalize muscles. Maybe he could do something similar but with a larger dose... or maybe he'd kill himself. No mater what the outcome this would probably be something he would want to start out in small doses before he actually did it in a real fight.

Taking a step back he took a deep breath before bending his knees and jumping up into the air as far as he could. A very simple idea, see if he could jump higher with this. At the peak of his jump he threw a shuriken at the tree. Then landing he took note of its position. "Ok now for the hard part." he said to himself.

Clenching his fists he sent a shock through his body feeling the sting instantly. To anyone else he would merely flinch and maybe shiver a moment. But as he'd expected his body instantly went numb, and the numbness would make it hard to tell normally if he was stronger or faster in any way. So jumping was a good idea for now. So bending his knees again he jumped as high as he could.

And what a diference, in an instant he rocketed high into the air eaasily dwarfing his previous jump. Then with a chuck another shuriken dug into the tree and he fell back to earth bending his knees to absorb the impact. A huff escaping him. Looking up at the shuriken he noticed he had easily doubled his height, but that seemed to be it.

"Once more..." he said under his breath. Standing up he looked at the tree, nearly knocked over by the girls attack. Sendng another shock through his body he shook again letting him know he had managed it. Now for the tricky part...

Bending his knees he looked at the tree a moment. With a deep breath to steel himself he started running. Immeditely he knew it worked as his body sped forward in a blur at the tree. But there was one final test. Drawing his arm back he swung at the tree, hoping to at least make a dent in it.

As his fist made contact with the tree the trunk split open and the tree lerched back to correct way as Yuichi ripped through the trunk before finally coming to a stop on the other side. "Yes it wor..." he stopped as a blast of electricity ran down his arm causing it to convulse uncntrolably for a moment. He fell to the ground grabbing his arm. "Limited use huh..." he said through gritted teeth.

Hee would have to remember not to use it too much. This was only two, what if he had gone to three or even four? He didn't want to think about it. He severly doubted hed make it past three at his current abilities. He would need alot more training before he even tried to improve such a dagerous technique.

"Aww... you scared our potential meat sheild away. That's almost no fun." Yuzuki quirked an eyebrow at the young woman that was with her, poor Yuichi... if looks could kill he would have left in a casket. This girl definatly had something of a venomous bite to her. Yuzuki rather... liked that. Granted to throw away the poor boy wasn't something that she had wanted so soon. Like him or not he could be of use to them in the future, especially when missions were involved. For now, she supposed that it might be better if they let him lick his wounded pride for a while and try again to get back to them. She was sure that after he sprung that sort of bear-trap that he would keep his advice to himself unless he had something worthwhile mentioning. As in... he could give first hand advice instead of regurgitation from a scroll. Well, lesson learned. Yuzuki also took note of that tree that was knocked down by the Wet Worm Jutsu. Perhaps she had been a little premature in her naming of it. But it was a cute little name for a cute little jutsu. She would be sure to tease Kori about it whenever she got the chance. She stood next to her female commrade and watched Yuichi practice his own jutsu. She raised an eyebrow at the progress being made by him. Dammit! He was one of those kids that could pick things up so quickly, the ones that use to run circles around her way of thinking and left her in the dust when it came to learning jutsu.
Well~! She certainly wasn't going to be shown up by him! Not after she had come so far. She looked over at Kori.
"Hey... that little wanker has caught up with us learning jutsu. I don't know about you but I'm not going to tolerate that."
The challange had been set, the bar raised and the pride had been stoked up once more. Yuzuki twisted on her heel and walked over to the body of water that Kori was on. At least this way, she wouldn't burn the whole village down with her attempts.

Yuzuki walked over to the body of water that Kori was occupying, she brought her body in tight and made the sign of the tiger as she closed her eyes. She tapped into the elemental chakra that rested inside her body and began to kneed it from the base in her stomach, she had been working on this for a while now, but the technique was something that was just out of her reach, she still struggled with her chakra control a little with her larger techniques, using it in subtle and miniscule ways was easy for her, when it came to giant ball of fire was something else entirely. She continued to concentrate and calm her emotions and thus, ease her chakra and make it easier to control. Once she got to the point of finding her calm point, she opened her eyes and began to make a series of hand signs, she gathered the chakra from the stomach and brought it up through her mouth. Lowering her mask, she brought the side of her lips, slightly away from her mouth. She pushed her chakra out of her mouth. Azure flame flowed and began to twist and form into a smaller version of what she was trying to, in the end it turned into a beach ball size ball of blue flame before. Yuzuki’s eyebrow twitched. She pulled back and tried again bracing her stance a little more before trying again, she needed to get more chakra into the attack, she needed to learn how to use her chakra in a far more generous way but not over do it like she had done so many times. The Jutsu itself bordered on the Chunin rank because of the chakra that it consumed. Regardless she was going to get this done, she breathed a little deeper, mixing her chakra in with the air to make it more of a combustible substance. She also tried to expand her usual capacity into something a lot bigger and more… damaging. She gathered her chakra to the point that she was comfortable with the amount. Once more she brought index and middle fingers slightly in front of her mouth and to the side and expelled the brewed chakra and oxygen into it as well. Yuzuki braced herself and pushed the chakra out into the world. She used the chakra at her fingertips as an ignition source that brought the blue flame to life and had it rage into a howling inferno in the middle of the lake. Yuzuki’s eyes narrowed and began to try and put more into it, it was large, but it should be larger than what it was, she was finally understanding how something like this would work, she experimented with her Azure ball of fire and loosened up on the chakra as well as put more into it until she was finally satisfied with what she had accomplished. Just to make sure that she fully understood and was satisfied with the combination, she performed it again. With a few hand signs and deep breath she exhaled her kneaded chakra and expelled it once more, getting the desired effect that she wanted to. The gentle glow cast eerie spectral shades of colour around the landscape until Yuzuki finished her jutsu. She inhaled once more and exhaled deeply, licks of the blue flame formed outside of her nose and away from her body as she burnt off the rest of the chakra.

However, she was not finished learning what she wanted to yet, after all, the Fireball jutsu had a variation that she needed to learn in order to actually accomplish this jutsu, she needed to learn how to manipulate the flame so that it was a flamethrower instead of a fire ball. Yuzuki closed her eyes and concentrated for a while. She needed to think about the best way to get this done, after all, it wasn’t as simple as just letting your chakra fly everywhere. Chaotic and characteristic for the flames as it may be, little control yielded little overall power. She needed to fan and arch her flow of chakra in order to get this to work well enough. She inhaled deeply and let the calm wash over her, she thought of the nothingness that was the darkness. It was tranquil and serene. She took a few more deep breaths and brought her chakra back up with each breath. She would do the same thing as she did with her Globe version of the jutsu. She brought her hand to the side of her lips and away from her mouth as she did before. The world once more ignited with the fires of the blue flame, instead of the orb of fire that she had practiced for so long, she let the shape vary, she let it spread out a little ways, but limited its distance of the spread with her chakra. She continued to push her flame, trying to get the feeling just right. She let it die down before trying again, she wanted to make sure that she got the proper feel for this jutsu so that she wouldn’t have to concentrate on it like she had been doing before attempting this jutsu and its variations. She quickly performed her hand signs and once more tired the fireball itself once more, then she performed the other variant of the flamethrower. She had to tinker with the later a little more, the way her flame came out it was still trying to curve in on itself a little more than it should, creating a horseshoe more than it created an open spray like pattern. She braced herself and tried again. She was starting to get a little tired, but she could push one more time for it to happen. She inhaled once to calm the excitement of almost getting it right and then tried again. She performed the hand signs and performed the jutsu, much more to her satisfaction this time on the flamethrower variant that made up the jutsu.

Yuzuki more or less let gravity pull up a seat for her. She had sweat starting to bead from her brow. She hated Fire jutsu to be honest. It took so much out of her when she was use to working with such a limited, as needed amount. It was like trying to push a car by practicing pushing a thread through the eye of a needle. She hated to admit it, but she kind of needed a few minutes to catch her breath. She would probably work on taijutsu next, that wouldn't require chakra and it would help build up her stamina even more so that she could do more jutsu. Yuzuki lean back, bringing her arms behind her to prop herself up. She looked over to Kori and raised an eyebrow. She had pushed two jutsu, was Kori up for the challange, what about Yuichi? Granted, she was clearly the most awesome of the three of them so it wouldn't surprise her if they would just roll over and more or less give up on trying to outpace her.

Kori Shirayuki

A cold breeze just rolled in.....

Kori laughed at Yuzuki's comment. "He had that coming to him. A meat shield is a meat shield, not something that spouts off opinions that are obvious." Kori didn't feel bad at all that the boy had retreated to train. On the other hand, his jutsu looked pretty strong, but had drawbacks. His muscles seemed to get more powerful for a short amount of time, but then she noticed the limp and pain that crossed his face.
Shaking her head, she turned back to Yuzuki and found her training a fireball technique of some sort. She looked tired though afterwards. Must not have been something she used often. "Fire style? Well aren't we just plain opposites?" Kori gave a laugh, one quite mirthful for one who had been cold to another a moment ago. "Shall we train taijutsu now? You said you needed some help right?" She fell into a stance holding one arm out towards the other girl and the other close to her chest.
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

Yuichi Shizen

As the girl spoke of him as a meat sheild Yuichi didn't really seem to react not because of some high and mighty attitude but simply because he had no idea what to say. It wasn't exactly an insult... but then again it wasn't really a compliment either.

As he mused the implications of being called a meat sheild the girl then brought up that he had already caught up to them in learning techniques. Really it was that easy? he thought surprised. Then watched as she practiced a fire jutsu of her own. Then the angry girl spoke and, well he stopped listening.

Turning back to the downed tree he sighed, it would be useless when it came to training now. He would need to find something sturdier, and preferably something that didnt send a shock back at him when he hit it. So choosing a good sized rock he cracked his knuckles for a moment before raising his hands. slowly he began to bounce back and forth on the balls of his feet before picking up speed. Slowly he moved about the rock throwing a few quick jabs at it to test its sturdiness. Every time his fist made contact a light hiss resounded as electricity coursed over the rock.

Coming to a stop he sighed, he needed to figure out how to hold larger amounts. Even if it was for only one blow, a more powerful attack could be useful for fighting stronger opponents. However lightning nature was tough, he would have to be cautious or he could use too much chakra in one attack and drain himself or too little and have it not be effective enough.

Bringing his hands together he made a few small handsigns choosing carefully to focus his chakra right. Then holding his hand out in front of him he gripped it with his other hand to make a more stable current of chakra. A small crackling began to form around his hand. He was moving slowly, measuring his chakra carefully compared to how much he was putting into the jutsu. At the moment the ammount was small.

As quickly as it had come the electricity vanished leaving him standing there just looking like an idiot. He needed to use more chakra, but how much more? Did he have enough chakra? He would have to use more for now and be careful not to go overboard. Even after he could focus the chakra he still had to define its characteristics and shape after.

An audible sigh escaped the boy, why am i even doing this? is it because she said so? he mused looking over at Yuzuki. Shaking his head he went back to his training. Focusing again he chose diferent hand signs this time, this time focusing on the characteristics... what characteristics did he even want?

"Perhaps something that can hit an area would be good." he thought out loud. He already had one technique like that but it was limited by the fact that he had to be falling to use it... and he wasn't a fan of falling all the time. Not to mention free falling around a battlefeild was a good way to end up on someones sword. However a wide spread attack meant he would need even more chakra then normal to pull it off.

Bringing his hand up again, his other hand gripping his forarm once more to increase his chakra flow, he tried to focus. Maybe he had gone about it all wrong, he would break it down slowly this time. First thing he had to do was increase the output on his static pulse. And what easier way to do that then to multiply it. One finger at a time.

Closing his eyes he let his chakra flow freely, he had to use an amount of chakra "Per finger" in a way. If he could do that there would be more chakra built up and he could still control it. As an added bonus he could do the area strike he was planning and possibly control it with his fingers. Well, that was his hope at least.

Slowly electricity began to sprout from his pointer finger in a small arc. A good sign, he was making progress. Then he moved onto the next finger, his middle finger. Soon the same thing was occuring there as well. Next was his ring finger and pinky, he could do both simultaneously due to their closeness within the mucles of the hand. So soon he had electricity coming from those two fingers as well. Next came the tricky part, the thumb.

Bending his fingers he turned his palm up focusing harder to get the thumb. Soon enough sparks lept from his thumb as well effectively incorperating all five fingers. The eletricity arced beteen his fingers, spouting off into the air now and then. Now came the easy part, something he did normally with the static pulse. He had to bring his palm into the equastion and incorperate his entire hand. Taking a deep breath he released chakra from there as well and the result was instantaneous.

The electricity connected with his palm creating a free flowing circuit within his hand and fingers. The hair stood up on the back of his neck at the electricity given off by the technique. More importantly he could feel his breathing getting labored. This was taking a gret deal of chakra to maintain. After all he was using his fingers and palm to generate elctricity all at once. It was likely a far greater amount of Chakra then his normal techniques. He most likely wouldnt be able to use this very often. However he had succeeded in creating a much larger charge then with the static pulse, which was a definite step forward.

As his mind danced with ideas his hand began to shake. Quickly he realized exactly how draining it was. He was getting pretty close to his limit at this point and he hadn't even launched it yet. Which meant if he used this in combat its uses would be limited. Very limited. At least for now. Once he trained more and aquired larger chakra reserves he may be able to use it more. For now I don't think I should use it more then once or twice in a single fight. he thought to himself.

Then he realized, he had yet to actually test it out. Which was probably a good idea. He had to know how it behaved if he wanted to make changes to it. So letting go of his forarm he opened his eyes. Slowly he planted his feet digging his feet into the hard rock so as to steady himself. Then looking down at the ground he drew his hand back, slowly closing his hand the electricity running wild as the circuit became smaller.

Swinging his hand toward the ground he struck it as hard as he could. Only to find the jutsu fade before impact. His bare fist striking the solid rock. Small sparks and tendrils of electricity jumping about over his hand and forarm for a moment before everything went silent.

Taking a deep breath to quiet his breathing he sighed. It had failed, horribly, he couldn't even maintain the chakra let alone launch an attack with it. He was exhausted, out of chakra and out of ideas. He would have to wait for another day.

Closing his eyes, he noticed the strong breeze, the smell of the trees nearby, and the distant sea breeze. It swept his hair from his face and cooled him off. He always loved being up so high because you could always smell the sea. He had visited it once before when he was young but only once.

It was always such a calming thing, being up so high, away from the hustle and bussle of the city, Being away from the constant spying on him after his fathers coup de ta attempt. It was annoying, because he had always been able to spot them. Ambu with their masks hiding in trees, on building rooftops, anywhere they could to keep an eye on him. And every jounin and teacher watched him particularly closely compared to the rest of the class.

To his classmates he was getting special attention for being a so called "Geneous" when really he was cursed to a life of being watched in every action he did. And if he stepped out of line or showed any signs of doing something they didn't like he was sure they had no qualms with ending him right then and there.

The fact that they had let him join the academy at all was a shock in hind sight. However here he was, on his way to becoming a ninja. A strange twist considering he could simply follow in his fathers footsteps. Maybe that was what they wanted to test...

Sitting down on the rock Yuichi had picked out he closed his eyes and listened to the breeze as it danced amoung the branches or the nearby trees. The warmth of the sun covering his body. He was now very low on chakra so it was likely the end of his training for now. Now it was time to rest and relax.

He looked over at the two girls the angry one having asked about sparring. It was a fun idea but he didn't think he should ask to join. Even if he had the chakra the angry one seemed to have a chip on her shoulder that... well he didn't want to deal with right now... not that he thought she would let him anyway. Why are women so complicated? he thought with a sigh.

Yuzuki smirked at her team mate and took up her hand, using it to help herself up, she hated to admit it, but she was still a little wobbly on her feet after that last fire jutsu. Just her luck to have the element that consumed the most amount of chakra as her staring element. Oh well, not like she could piss and moan to make anything better about it. Yuzuki looked over at the boy of the group, she was stretching out a little so that she could prepare a little more for her upcoming taijutsu practice, a delicate little flower such as herself really needed to take care of her amazingly sculpted body. She dusted herself off and watched for a moment with a quirked eyebrow. It was safe to say, that she was started to become somewhat amused with this boy and his abilities. She had no idea what sort of jutsu he was working on, but she was sure that it would come in handy if he ever mastered it, and as the saying goes 'glad he's on our side.' She wouldn't likely be able to content with that very easily. At least... not yet...

"Yeah, lets go work on some Taijutsu. Your more than welcome to join us sleeping beauty. The exersize might do you some good." She teased over her shoulder at the nigh unconscious victume on the ground. If they were to work together, then she would like to see where everyone was at as far as their skills were, call it... self preservation if you needed to, the bottom line was that she wasn't wanting to be risking her beautiful self out there because someone wasn't pulling their weight around. Not that she suspected her team mates of doing that, she just wanted to make sure that she could use them to save her bacon rely on them in a pinch so that they could all come home safe and sound once more. All in all, Yuzuki didn't care that Kori didn't like Yuichi, she was entitled to her own likes and dislikes as she pleased, however, she hoped that they would at least be civil when it came to a mission. They could fight like cats and dogs on their off time, however, there was a time to be professional and there was a time for personal friction. She... hoped that the two of them would know the difference when it came down to it.

Thoughts: Alright, time to work on that waistline, er! I mean taijutsu!!

Kori Shirayuki

A cold breeze just rolled in.....

Kori shrugged when Yuzuki invited Yuichi. She didn't care much for men and boys and this one seemed intent on showing himself off. She wasn't against working with him, she was just annoyed he tried to give advice on something he obviously knew little about. Maybe he wasn't bad at Taijutsu and they could learn something.
"C'mon over here Yuichi. We can all learn from it."
She eyed each of her companions and sized them up. Yuzuki was on par with her in height but she wasn't sure about their weight matchup. She could be heavier or lighter, hard to tell on girls until contact was made. Yuichi was a tad taller than the girls but didn't look too much bigger other than that fact. Taking each of them shouldn't be too tough. Gesturing to them, she allowed herself a smirk.
"So who's first?"
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.
