Taken somewhat by surprise Zurine yelped as a fog creature attacked and managed to get a pretty good hit on her, she barely had time to do much more then dodge out of the way of further damage let alone attempt to hit back and so her swing met nothing but thin air.

Now, this was her kind of trial. She missed the previous fights but not this one. Holly ran to her teammates help. Everything was fair game. The ghoul hit the fog creature with all she had. Which was a lot apparently. Maybe it was because she was a ghost she had been able to land a good hit, whatever it was it worked.

The creature stayed on Zurine, seeming to cling to her desperately, angrily. Even as Holly's attack ravaged the misty creature, it seemed to focus all of what was left of its form trying to strangle Zurine, though it was obviously fading fast. Most of the creature seemed less corporeal, less cognizant as a humanoid shape.

Leave home! it wailed at her, though its voice seemed further away, sluggish and plaintive.

Zurine gasped as the fog beast tried to strangle her. "Get off of me!" She yelled at the fading creature as Holly tore it apart from behind, reaching out she attempted to grab and shred what was left of the ghost...which seemed to be just enough to free her.

"Leave home? What the heck is with these things? Maybe they're trying to chase us out of this area?"

Finally, the creature's grasp on Zurine ebbed away as the last of its being was rent apart by her defensive shredding. Its form collapsed and became indistinguishable from the surrounding mist.

Log out? What did he mean logout? We’re dead?

Everything was spiraling; the zap had some lasting effect through the neurology of slime. Electricity may have gone through him more effectively compared to the rest. Being bound and placed in an unknown cavern, with lights flickering and shadows skittering around them, the world was spinning.
He felt sick. His eyes stared downwards. His face was much greener that usual.

He struggled a little from the constraints, but knew that with little training, he could never fully dissipate through it, and if it was powered by Fear, which he expected from the helmet, the chance was basically zero.

He continued to stare down at the floor. He did this silently. Even with the threats from the undead with the saw, or even the one draped with a scarf.
The slimer recognized who it was. He was one of the first to alarm the school of students’ disappearance during one of the skirmishes with these hunters who seemed to have destroyed the world they knew.

He mumbled; jumbled words and phrases here and there.

“Tell him, tell him about what we just went through, the trials…” His voice trailed, and he returned to silence.

When Circe had finally come to she found herself bound by thick ropes. What the heck had just happened? Where were they? And how in the world could they get out of this situation. However her thoughts were quickly pulled to the two figures that were standing before them. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. These weren't hunters but they seemed intent on ending them. Circe frowned. It would be their luck that while trying to find help they managed to get themselves into more trouble. Although, there was a small glimmer of hope bottled within her chest as she stared at the secretary. "Arel." She said without realizing she had actually said it. Then when she did she scrunched her eyes together and turned her head away. For a moment Circe wondered if using her FEAR ability would prove to them that they were students. But she quickly displaced that thought due to the fact that she might need to save that as their trump card later. Then again, her body was covered with rope that was probably FEAR. It wouldn't do much good to use her own at this point in time.

Circe opened her eyes and looked at her team mates then gulped. For once her loose mouth was tightly closed. She knew that she needed to find the words to tell them about the trials and what had happened, but the words wouldn't form. All she could do was hope that Zurine or Holly would have more courage then her at that moment. Or Elle would.

It seemed like they had walked for hours..though in reality Zurine knew that was only a misconception based on how often they'd had to stop and deal with those strange fog beasts, she was tired and cold and getting colder by the second. Zurine blamed the fog for the cold, if only it would clear a little bit and let some sunshine through - though she wasn't even really sure there was much of a sun in this strange new world she found herself in, the sky didn't give much indication of one.

Just as she was about to suggest that perhaps they had made a wrong turn somewhere and were wandering lost in the middle of nowhere the flag had appeared. Excitedly she'd run towards it..it must have been planted there by some other survivors right? A sign to show that they were still around, perhaps there would be a clue as to where they should go next!.

Running towards the flag and the loud ZAP! That had followed were the last things Zurine remembered clearly when she woke up again a memory which seemed almost nice compared to the reality she found herself in.

"Help!" She cried out as she jerked at the restraints, where were the others? what had happened? Twisting her head slightly despite the chaffing from the chains and ropes which bound her she took note that she was in a cave of some sort and her team were bound like her on similar tables. Things had just gone from bad to worse as far as Zurine was concerned..if the rest of her team had been captured as well then what hope did they have of escape? They had seen no one but the strangers out in this strange world so no one would be coming to rescue them. It was a chilling thought.

Some strange undead she had never seen before started towards her and if it were possible to shrink back in chains then Zurine would surely have done so, as it where she could only hunch slightly against the restraints a slight shiver making the chains rattle while he plopped the helmet over her head - the helmet seemed to be the lesser of two evils when compared to the rusted saw he held in another hand, a saw he was now bringing closer and Zurine realized that he had been speaking "WAIT!" She cried out with wide eyes as the saw got closer "just WAIT!, I don't even know what logging out is..." She started to babble somewhat hysterically before her voice trailed off at the sight in a blue scarf though he looked a great deal more haggard then he had the last time she'd seen him.

"Arel!" She practically yelled with joy - a familiar face, what luck! Surely the secretary of their school wouldn't let this crazed undead hack them to bits with his rusty saw right? "I'm Zurine! I'm a year one at Amityville and we were doing some type of trial or test from the horsemen and then we ended up here!" She went on trying to drown out their accusations that they were spies and call them back as they faded from view. Twisting her head again she focused on not only her team mates but the others in the room all as haggard looking as Arel had been - perhaps they were the survivor group the two men had talked about earlier...oh jack they were going to be hacked apart by the people they were supposed to be siding with!

"Tell them!" She yelled at her teammates "Tell them what happened!" They might think she was crazy but if all her teammates spoke the same story well..maybe they'd believe and not hack them to tiny pieces with rusty weapons. Zurine really really did not want to be hacked to bits.

Things had been going well for once. They were not getting attacked and no one had died yet. Then Holly heard the zoises. Her last thought before blacking out was 'not again'.

She was glad that she came too but wasn't glad about being tied up. Luckily her group was still there. How did her other friends fare though? She struggled for a moment before the others started to talk. Halloweeners? Wait. Wait. Her teammates had it right, that was Arel.

"We are students. We were participating in the four clan trials though last I remember I was I the ghost dorms." However much she had hoped for this to just be another trial she felt like it wasn't. Like all of those field trips this didn't look like it would end well. Holly didn't fear death, she was already a ghost and had died multiple times. "We are on your side."
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2012 4:42 pm

Arel frowned. "Four Clans?" He turned towards the other undead for a second, "Do you know what they're talking abo-"

BANG.

The entire cave shook furiously, several survivals scrambling left and right, shouting incoherently. There was a second bang and then a third-

- Everything exploded in dust and debris, a strange smell, the smell of the fog, wafting into the cave. It was impossible to see now, clouds of dirt and smoke flying everywhere, though through the haze, there was a distant noise, an electric ZAP-

- Screaming, more muffled shouts, someone yelling loudly "HUNTERS, SOUND THE ALARM", the noise of something, bells perhaps, clanging loudly, clearly-

- Suddenly cut off by a burst of light. There were more now, flecks of light, of colour in the room, glowing beyond the haze, the fog, the smoke, the dust clouds. And the yelling, sounds, of metal clashing against metal, of snarling, furious cries, of someone telling the others to "Evacuate now".

Mere minutes, everything was dead silent again. Silent, as the smoke and fog cleared, revealing an entirely empty cavern, revealing signs of anarchy and chaos littered on the ground, unmanned weapons and broken furniture. Revealing a figure walking towards the still restrained students, a figure wearing a long white coat emblazoned with gold. They knelt on the ground for a second, examining one of the damaged equipment on the ground with a small frown, their coat dangling on the ground a moment longer, the gold insignia on the back shaped like two scythes crossing each other.

"Sir, we've got the lead of the other escapers. Permission to pursue them?" Another of the attackers had appeared, saluting the first figure smartly. The figure nodded shortly, curtly, watching them leave before standing up, patting down his coat.

"Now," He began, his hair a shocking red even in the dim light, as he examined the trainees with a rather amused expression, "This is probably the most interesting thing I've seen all month. The refugees left you clearly here to die, but, and do correct me if I'm wrong of course," the figure pulled up a chair, casually sitting level with them, "I don't think you are from here at all."

"Sir!" A second voice, and then another person. For some students, perhaps in another lifetime, they might have even found the person familiar: a human dressed in a simpler design of the first's coat, cropped hair tied in a loose ponytail. "Once we are done here, they are requesting backup at the southeast portal entrance."

The red-head sighed. "Ben."

"Yes, sir?"

"Ben, seriously, call me Ben, its not hard." 'Ben' was putting a hand to his face, one of long suffering. "Caelius, I swear to god, one day you are going to call me Ben, and the world is going to e-"

"With all due respect sir, they are still waiting for your backup after this interrogation."

'Ben' sighed, leaning forwards on his chair again. Maybe if the students were on the same side, they would have been good friends, it was a pity really. "Okay, well apparently I have some more important things to do"- yes, there were airquotes -"But it was really interesting meeting you. Hope to see you back at base then, good talk all." He signaled for two others. "Keep an eye on them until I get back okay, don't move them quite yet, I still have questions, and I am seriously, seriously getting goosebumps just thinking of the others tampering in this before I have a chance at it."

Blank stares from the two other humans. Ben hung his head in defeat. "Just- just don't touch anything." He put a hand on Caelius's shoulder, which the other simply brushed off, the two of them disappearing back into the fog and smoke.

There was a moment of silence longer, and then the sound of a high-pitched whining noise: an electric charge.

"Dude," began the first of the two sentries in charge of 'watching' the students, "He said not to do anything, put that thing down?"

"Aw, come on," argued the other, "We've been stuck doing sentry duty all day. Wouldn't you think it would be funny just to prod them like, once?" He walked over to the students, a feral grin on his face, holding what looked like a glowing dagger. "Hi there little creatures, how about we play a little game to ease the boredom? You tell me everything you know, or I'll stick you, with my little ah, friend here."

OOC

- Your student is still trapped... OR ARE THEY?
-You notice that your ropes are actually starting to come loose, or maybe its just how awesome you are, whatever the case is, you feel it no longer restrains your Fear as much! Maybe the effect has worn off? Roll a 100-sided dice and match your dice roll to the result. If anyone is free, move to the ESCAPE phase. You can continue rolling until you are freed
- Your character CAN have a chance of dying during the ESCAPE phase. If they are dead, then please RP their death solo accordingly. Your team can still function without their "leader" alive.

1-30: You wriggle the ropes just slightly, but no luck.
31- 60: You feel several coils come loose, and you try to continue the conversation with your captors in order to distract them.
61-100: YOU ARE FREE. You quickly bolt as fast as you can, looking for the nearest exit, despite the shouts nearby. You must now move to the ESCAPE phase.

YOU ARE ESCAPING:
- Roll a 6-sided dice to try to escape. If you roll ODD, you feel a strange sensation, a ZAP - this is the last thing you see. YOUR STUDENT IS NOW DEAD (not even dissipated, gone forever)
- If you roll even you are FREE. You head outside but... are you alone? The fog is so thick around you, you can't see a thing (please wait here for further gm prompts, feel free to interact with anyone else who got freed or post rp reactions to those who didn't).

Circe stared at the now guards that stood before her. She couldn't believe Arel had left them here and not only that, now they were facing torture. She tightly pressed her lips together. There was no chance in hell she was going to say anything that could get her teammates into further trouble. And then she realized something, the ropes that were wrapped around them were now loose! This was her chance to try to break free. Circe took sideways glances at her teammates, hoping that they were realizing that they could in fact try to escape now. With stiff movements Circe attempted to wiggle free, not at all paying attention to how obvious she looked doing so. But she didn't care. If she could get free who cared if she got a few scrapes? Shoot, she probably wouldn't put up to much of a fuss if a limb went missing so long as it meant her getting away.

Shoot. The ghoul thought to herself as she wiggled in the ropes. They weren't budging. It was then she started to get a bit more desperate and certainly a lot less careful, now there was no sign of her even trying to hide the fact that she was trying to escape. In fact she openly wiggled and writhed trying to set herself free but all in vain. The ropes wouldn't budge.

Just as Circe had thought for sure she could make it out of the ropes she found herself grabbed by her by one of the guards that were watching them. As he pulled her head back she knew instantly that this was the end of the line for her. She wasn't going to scream or cry, no matter how much she wanted to do the latter as that might just bring more hunters out of the woodwork and that would just not be a good thing right now. Circe attempted with the little strength she had left to use her FEAR on the guard with the glowing daggar. Just as the tattoo's on her leg began to move and begin to tear off she felt something hard hit her back and she fell to the ground, still tied up.

As she opened her eyes, getting ready to unleash her FEAR she noticed something, her teammates were escaping. Without her. Her black eyes filled with light tears for a moment until she saw Elle making his move to escape too. And then it hit her hard. None of her teammates were going to save her. None of them were going to come back and beat up the hunters. This really was the end for her. She felt as though her heart had been swallowed up by a black hole. Thankfully for her teammates her attempts at freeing herself had caused the few guards to come to where she was, leaving her teammates free to exit the cave without fear of an attack. A small part of her felt happy that she could save her teammates by sacrificing herself, but the majority of her couldn't believe that this was happening. Maybe her and Elle hadn't been super close the last couple of weeks but that was no reason for him to leave her behind! It was a horrible thing to do as it wasn't his fault but, the ghoul couldn't help but blame and hate El Greco for all that was happening to her. Circe closed her eyes and took in a deep breath.

Quickly the ghoul re-opened her eyes and stared up at the other guard and a grin appeared on her face for a split second as her tattoo's on her legs lept off her body and began to attack the human boil. Just as she thought she might be able to take out a guard before she died, she felt something sharp stab her as she made a ugh sound. She could feel the pain of not only the daggar going into her body but she felt it inside her, tearing at her. And then the last thing she could hear was a ZAP! noise and then it was all over. In her final moments she didn't scream, she didn't even cry. Instead she died feeling utterly alone and angry. Angry she had been left behind. Her heart was tainted with a blackness much deeper then her eyes. The only thing that could be said about her death was that she no longer felt pain, sadness, anything. There was nothing. Her body laid still as her breathing stopped.

Circe died that day. In more ways then one.

Maybe this isn’t a test.

Everything was happening too fast, and too many things were happening. He tried to recount what had been occurred, from waking up in a strange place with fog spirits, to being captured to what seemed to be survivors of a catastrophe, and now they’re in the hands of the enemies; humans. He couldn’t believe that he used to be one of them. It was a distant and blurry past, and now, he didn’t feel like going back to it. It was sickening, and he was as green as before.

His eyes were still, staring down at the floor. He stared at the feet of the humans, the one called Ben, Caelius and now he was staring at the feet of the sentries. He avoided their eyes. Not from fear, or even defiance, he didn’t want to see their eyes and see himself in them.

He couldn’t hear them, or he wouldn’t. He was in a state of shock. Life was too precious to him, and he was too close to losing it.

“Not yet,” he muttered to himself, “not yet…”

He struggled, loosening the hold on him.

The slimer gritted his teeth as he struggled, and his effort was not in vain as more loosened.

The sentries who was watching him weren’t ignorant as they may have sounded, and saw what the ghost was doing. The one with the machine prodded him lighting, it buzzed, and zapped as it struck the slimer.

The ghost of course writhed in pain, but tried to make as little sound as possible, in an attempt to deny them of satisfaction. The slimer rolled on to his side, away from his teammates while the one of the sentries kneeled by him.

The sentry taunted him, privately, with words that only he and the slimer could hear.

The ghost took it, and his glow was faint as he tried to compose himself.

The other guard disappeared from his periphery.

ZAP.

Then it followed a thud, that echoed along the caverns.

The ghost cringed at the sound and its implications. The guard by him stood and walked over to the direction of the sound, and it just provided a chance to be by himself.

The slimer was a shapeshifter. Though the bonds held him was good, his skill in of just changing himself was enough that he was able to slip through the chains with little difficulty. He left a slimey residue on them as he slid and started to crawl away while the other guards was busy.

He pushed, jumped, and on his feet, he started running.

Only at the mouth of the caverns that he turned and to see who was at the floor.

He froze. His eyes welled. His mouth was slightly open, failing to pronounce a name as his lips shook.

Before the guards were to notice him at the cavern end, the slimer turned and took off.
