THE CAVE OF DARKNESS
Antsy. Frightened.
While the first flag was held firmly in her grasp, she couldn't help but worry that her next step would send her tumbling to her death. Or that the tingle running down her spine would in fact be caused by the heavy breaths of a rabid cave dweller and not just her imagination. Climbing to her feet again, Natalia began to move forward knowing that she couldn't let the others down...not again. No matter how frightened she was. And no matter what obstacles she came across.
Such boldness payed off as a second flag came to be after coming upon a fork in the road and wisely choosing to go against the tides. (Right is always right? WRONG!)
Unfortunately her fear of not being COMPLETELY alone became very real, stifling a
scream as the clatter of feet on the ceiling echoed as if it were right in her ear.

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS
The light was about as reassuring as finding the second flag, and the breeze? She would have gone as far to say it was a cruel tease! Knowing there were still two left meant that there would be more traps to best, more creatures to hear, and possibly a fight or two in order to successfully make her way out of the cavern. So really, how excited could the ghoul get?
Still, she couldn't resist lingering in this dimly lit opening, finding great comfort in knowing what she had been thrown into.
A while turned into an hour, and soon she was approaching the gap in the wall, squeezing her tiny frame through it and stumbling into more darkness once on the other side. A single flag richer.

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS
Filthy, STILL AFRAID, and now in an even darker darkness than before...Natalia walked forward, and continued to walk for what seemed like an eternity, growing frustrated and frenzied that is until something tapped against her.
It was then that the monster lost it. She may have screamed, turned, screamed louder, and swung her claws about wildly while still trying to move forward and away from whomever/whatever had made contact. But in the end a friendly face escorted her out of the cave; perhaps sporting a few fresh cuts.

Snow Dash!
The start of day 2 seemed a bit better, seeing as the rain and severe wind had died down... though Imryn was not all that thrilled with the fog. Having severely limited sight because of it left her not wanting to fly much of anywhere, and thankfully she was alone on the course. No one else would have seen her 'walking' along the ground with her hands... not willing to risk getting injured if she flew into something or someone. Besides, it was just some snow and ice... nothing could go too wrong, right?
Setting out, things seemed to be going decently enough, and the little lepus guide was keeping quiet today. She just assumed he was sleeping off whatever random fact inducted coma he'd talked himself into. Though her ponderings were brought to a halt as the ice started to crack beneath her. This was not good. Plunging straight ahead through the fog, Imryn found the flag and made a mad dash for safety before the ice could crack enough for her to fall in.

Snow Dash!
The victory was a bit short-lived however, as Imryn found herself headed right into a snowbank in her haste to get away from the cracking ice. Snow began piling up around her and sucking her farther into the snow while trying to get her wings free to fly off. However, all that did was cause her to continue to sink, eventually burying her in the snow completely.
Next thing she knew, she was waking up in the infirmary.

OPEN RACE COURSE
Mitzi had let her teammates choose first, which left her not as many options for courses. Given how much fun she'd had before riding the goat, even if her lepus had caused problems, she decided that of the remaining courses, she'd take the open race course again.
She went straight for the goat - none of that bitey pony - but even as she mounted she could tell he was not as happy to see her as she was to him. At first she couldn't figure out why, but she got an indication of why soon enough. The instant they'd left the stable, her lepus climbed out of her bag and started moving forward onto the goat's head. No matter how much she swatted at the little jerk, he refused to go back into her bag.

This time Mitzi must have directed the goat down a different path, or maybe outright a wrong turn, because even before they reached the first flag she found the path getting rocky, and the goat having to leap from one spot to another. She held on for dear life, not a free hand to try to push her lepus back into the bag.
"Did you know this is a great way to break your neck?"
She groaned quietly to herself.

Finally things evened out again, and Mitzi sighed in relief. She managed to shove the annoying lepus out of the way, and she spurred her mount on. When she noticed how tired he was getting, she frowned, and let him slow down, but it clearly had already made him more cranky.

Still looking for that first flag, Mitzi noticed her goat getting antsy again, but she couldn't figure out why. That stupid lepus was still in her bag, wasn't he?
Then the goat shied at something, and the fog cleared just long enough for the ghoul to see a chasm in front of them. She must have taken a wrong turn. Again. So that was why her goat had been so upset.
